So I recently build my first custom build pc with the purpose of creatine a 3d model workstation. But now it keeps crashing every piece of modelling software I have. I thought it was maybe a memory problem but after running memtest86 i got no errors. My specs are: Cpu: Ryzen 9 3900x Gpu: MSI 2070s Gaming X trio Psu: Corsair RM750 Ram: G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600 Cas 16 Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite Ssd: Samsung 970 Evo The graphics card, chipset and lan drivers and Windows are all up to date. The UEFI is still how it came out of the box (F3) and the memory is running at his stock xmp profile. Can anyone please help me, it's making me so sad.

Hi everyone, I want to build a new PC. I already have the case as in the title Thermaltake Core P5 with acrylic Glass. I will use the pc for gaming 1080p on my AOC 32“ 1080p 144Hz gaming monitor. My budget is set to 1000€ and also want to have a nice look on the pc RGB MB, RGB water cooling, RGB RAM etc. So I need your ideas/advices which components should I get and should I go Intel or AMD for cpu. Thanks in advance

I decided to document my first pc build ever, after getting it fully assembled I went to turn it on and got absolutely nothing, no led's no fans spinnings. So I had to go into troubleshooting mode and all together probably spent 20 hours on building/troubleshooting/watching videos/and posting on forums. I couldn't figure it out so I had my dad come over, who's a master electrician to take a took at it and he spotted the problem in 2 seconds. I had only 14 pins of my 24 pin connector plugged in on my power supply side, while the 10 pin connector was just hanging there...won't make that mistake again. All together I spent just over $1400 before tax. I'm really happy with how it turned out and even though it was a pain in the ass, learning how to troubleshoot will be valuable in the future. Thanks to the people on the troubleshooting thread that helped me out. I also made a video out of it:

Hi again Linus community ! I have recently been hired by Apple, as a result had to move all the way to Cork Ireland. I couldn't bring my entire PC with me, so all I managed to bring were my ROG Strix 1080ti, my 7 HDDs + SSDs, as well as my 32gb DDR4 T-Force RAM. Now, with that being said, I need to build a new RIG around those parts. I am in Ireland as I said, so all is in Euros, and very few online computer stores here and TAX is like 20% DANG! My budget is kinda low, not more than €1000 or below. So far I know what case I need to accommodate all my storage, the one and only Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow + 2 HDD Cages. I mean it's the only case I could find that has us storage hogs in mind. With that said, need to mention that gaming would still be good with 32GB RAM n my Strix 1080ti both of which I already have. Now on to the build. Gotta say I have never used AMD CPUs before but Ryzen is way cheaper than Intel these days. I wanna build a Ryzen 7 - 3700x system, which after watching hours upon hours of videos, seems to be the all rounder CPU to get. As for Motherboard I wanna stay clear of Gigabyte as I had nothing but bad experience with them. MSI/ASUS or even AsRock would be great. I am slowly learning that x570 Chipset is what to go with as anything below, although they do support the 3700x I would need an older CPU to update Bios for it to work, which I do not have nor want to go through hassle of asking to be done. So x570 is what am stuck with. Also I will be having 10+ HDDs to put in there, so the more SATAs the Mobo has the better, although am getting a PCIe to 6x SATA card, still would be great to have. Finally, PSU, and CPU Cooler. For PSU fully modular Gold rated would be great, CPU cooler have no idea but an AiO should do... Check my idea lists below from Amazon UK, as you can see am stuck on motherboard. It's the thing giving me the biggest headache... Recommendations...... GO! Hi there! I am from Canada and I always wanted to switch from gaming laptops (yes shhh it's only GTX1050ti) to a full-Gaming desktop. Since after my credit went down due to stupid decisions (now solved), my only available option is this site. Is it worth it? I was comparing it to the BLD from NZXT and I feel like I'm getting robbed before tax. Thanks people! By the way I wanted to finance this. :)

Hello all, I wanted to ask the forums what would be the ideal build for my gaming needs. Currently, I'm on a 1080p monitor and will go to a 144hz monitor. I play games such as L4D2, Beamng Drive, Six Siege, GTA 5, Project Cars 2, F1 2019, BF1, BF3, BF4, BF5, FSX, Gmod, City Skylines, and CSGO. My budget is around $1700. Here are my potential builds: AMD: Ryzen 3700x, RTX 2060 Super OR used GTX 1070, 32 gb DDr4 NEO Trident Z rgb ram, Gigabyte x570 ultra mobo. Intel: Intel I7-9700k, RTX 2060 super or used GTX 1070, 32 gb ddr4 Trident Z rgb ram, Gigabyte Z390 ultra mobo. Note, the reason I put the used GTX 1070 is because my current laptop has the Max-Q version, which is able to play nearly all my games at 144hz and nearly maxed out. Now, I can get a used 1070 for around $230 usd. Would it be wise to go with the RTX 2060 super or GTX 1070 for my needs? Also, I understand that the 3700x beat the i7-9700k is certain things, but will it be good enough for gaming? This is me coming from an i5-4690k and AMD R9-390x. Thank you all!

I am currently embroiled in decision paralysis. i7… R7… i5… 2070… 1070 TI… 2.5”… M.2… AIO… so many decisions! I haven’t been a close follower of the PC world for around 10 years, but I have now fallen deep into the worm hole. After a few months of dedicated Linus Tech Tips and Gamers Nexus watching (among others) I feel I have a decent grasp of the current PC landscape. That being said, I am looking for some advice on the following. Thanks in advance, this is a great community and I am excited to be a part of it. As a background, I am in the USA (New Jersey specifically) and have a budget around $1500 (PC only). But that is where it gets tricky… I could spend more (up to $2k) but I also enjoy saving money and do not want to spend it needlessly. On the other side of the coin, I haven’t refreshed my PC in near 10 years, so I am comfortable buying a machine that is beyond my current needs with the idea that it will last ~5 years without requiring significant upgrades. I plan on playing games as well as some minor photo and video editing. On the gaming front, I don’t have many specifics to point to but would like to be able to play future AAA titles. I’ve got 3 builds going over on PC partpicker, key components summarized here: Intel: i7 8700k, Noctua NH D15s, Samsung 500 GB M.2, EVGA RTX 2070 – Total Cost ~$1,890 AMD: Ryzen 7 2700X, Stock Cooler, Samsung 500 GB M.2, EVGA RTX 2070 – Total Cost ~$1,550 AMD Modest: Ryzen 7 2700X, Stock Cooler, Samsung 2.5”, MSI GTX 1070 Ti – Total Cost ~$1,300

So I'm looking at a bargains with PC parts and this is what I've come up with for my brother's new build. The build would roughly be around $600 or less. CPU: i5-6600k Mobo: Gigabyte Gaming 7 Z170X RAM: 16GB Gskill Ripjaws 2800MHz GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Zotac HDD: 1TB WD Blue SSD: 240GB Kingston PSU: EVGA 600w I already have the PSU and one of the RAM sticks. I know he wouldn't stream and wouldn't be playing a lot of AAA titles. The goal would be to get over 60fps on High settings.

Good Morning/Day/Evening ? So I am in great need of an upgrade, not just some parts here and there but brand new, fresh. Here is why: Motherboard: https://im9.cz/sk/iR/importprodukt-orig/2bd/2bd6b4d1861980aa7c661197d2c06d75--mmf250x250.jpg ( I think it's discontinued MSI G41m-SP20??? ) CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz RAM: 2GB...something I think it says Hyundai on it somewhere @1333 I think, had 4GB but now after an hour or 2 of gaming it gives me the ol'BSOD ( memory malfunction ) GPU: MSI R7750-PMD2GD3 HDD: Random Samsung 250GB Mechanical PSU: Some Superchannel I got from a friend think it's 450-550,? So game that I have played on it includes @ 1050x1400 res are: The Witcher 3 (low-medium, some specs on high?4gb RAM) 40+ FSP, drops to about 30 when alot happens, or it gets hot League of Legends (High, 2GB RAM) Skyrim and some other games, never really had a problem with it but now the HDD sometimes just doesn't start up and windows freezes, RAM not working so now I need something new So my base (CPU) that I am looking to build everything else of is something like the Intel Core i5 8400 or Intel Kaby Lake Core-X i5-7640X could also go for the Intel i3 Coffee Lake, so now I would like the community to assist me with RAM, GPU, Mobo etc, Please not this is a BUDGET PC, no fancy RGB CPU coolers, just need the main components to start her up. (P.S sorry about long post)

Hey everybody happy new year. Got a few ideas after selling my old system to a family member. I can't decide between a matx build (below) or making a powerful machine but a small form factor rig. Please feel free to make criticisms and alterations but follow the guidelines of a gaming rig with a black, silver, green or rgb colour scheme and my budget is around £1500 ish gbp. Intel i5 8600k Asus rog strix z390-e mobo Corsair vengeance rgb Pro 16gb ram Corsair h110i v2 cooler Gtx 1070 or ti (haven't decided model) Samsung 1tb ssd. Corsair rm 850x psu Phanteks evolv matx anthracite case X3 Black corsair ml 140 fans.

Hello. While part picking I came across some forums that the motherboard I chose is a choice of "budget" when compared to my other parts. Gtx 1070 gb i7-8700k Corsair Vengence 2x8gb 3200mhz Motherboard- MSI Z370-A Pro Is this motherboard a budget part in comparison to the previously listed? And if so, is there a recommended mobo that will match the previous parts without breaking the bank?

Hello there My name is Stephen and I am currently looking for help building my new computer. My budget is preferably around 1000-1500$ CAD. I would use it for digital art, photo editing and video games such as Call of Duty: Black ops 4 and fortnite. I would prefer a build with around 8-16gb ram and a 1050 ti, if possible that is. It would be extremely helpful if parts could be ordered from newegg.ca or amazon.ca. Also this really isn't necessary but I would enjoy if the system could be black and white as y walls and desk are white with black accents. I choose to post this now in hope that any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals might reduce the price of the PC. Thanks in advance, any and all suggestions would be appreciated!

Hello there, I am new when it comes to building a PC, so I asked my friend who is good with computers to help me build one and this is the list he chose for all the parts within my budget($2000). He said it would run everything I needed. I need it to run windows and photoshop for sure along with some animation programs (although getting to play some games on it wouldn't be bad either). I have some idea what the parts do but not all of them. If I can make it cheaper that would be great. Any advice would be much appreciated. Been saving for a while now and decided to build a new rig for the first time in 8 years. My budget is between $2500-$3000 USD but needs to include a new monitor as well. This rig will primarily be for gaming and occasional software development. I'm trying to look for a CPU to be able to support both with a decent price point. I do want to try to hit 32 GBs of RAM because I've had issues with only 16 GBs on my work laptop when coding. I like the idea of having no typical hard drives with SSDs in the machine. For gaming I want to push 1440p with graphics set rather high, I like games such as The Witcher 3, some RTS, and really looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077. I do like FPS but am not a competitive gamer so the highest FPS isn't a strict requirement. Below is my idea of AMD rig to fit my needs. I'm very torn on what GPU to get due to the reviews and availability at any given point. I have a 2080 on the list but i'm not entirely set on that item. I do want to have gsync on an IPS screen. PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DVZWP3 CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz 8-Core Processor Motherboard: Asus - Prime X470-Pro ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Storage: Samsung - 970 Evo 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive Storage: Crucial - MX500 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Video Card: EVGA - GeForce RTX 2080 8GB XC GAMING Video Card Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Monitor: Asus - PG279Q ROG Swift 27.0" 2560x1440 165Hz Monitor Other items needed. Case: I'm not sure on cases at all. I do want a case with easy cable management and can fit the components OS: I'll be looking into getting a license for Windows 10. I'll take any recommendation on which version to get. As well as easiest way to buy! Keyboard/Mouse: I have some I can reuse but I'll take recommendations here as well. Speakers/Headset: Looking for both!

Hello there! My name is Anthony. I'm trying to build a new PC and due to the fact that I leave in Greece its not that easy cause of the economy over here. Now my budget was 600€..but because I want a pretty good gpu it goes up all the way to 700€ (I'm selling my now owned pc.) Now I need your advice in my build. Please! ? This is my new build +plus a used RX 580 8GB for 200€-220€ Now I found the MSI B450-A Pro for 15€ less than the Asrock one but it says that it is created with mining in mind.. Will it do the job like the one I chose now or not? P. S. Any other suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi there anyone that's willing to help me out! So I've just arrived at university yesterday, and I'm hoping to build my pc, as I'm less of a going out and mingling person, for leisure time between studies. Never really had anything high end ever or even mid really, I have a switch, and a hp laptop, but Terraria and Minecraft is about its limit. Looking to maybe do a bit of streaming at a later date maybe, as well as probably some light music work, but mostly gaming. Here's the parts list attached. I'm not going to be overclocking or anything, and I've heard that the stock cooler should be good enough. Could anyone point out any issues with this list at all? Thank you
-
Budget (including currency): like ehh $1800 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: streaming and gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Soooo I’ve been in this pickle for a while now and I want to build a system with potential upgrade to maybe the 3080 or 3070 in the future I’ve spent count less hours on YouTube and forums trying to decide! I give up need some advice I’m going to stream and play games that’s it I use NVMEC to stream so I know the card can handle! I’m stuck hell me out thanks in advance also I’m attempting an artic build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/89xrJb https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bBsY6R

I am building a PC for a friend of mine who doesn't know much about them, but loves to game of course. The budget is 2K with a need for a whole new system, keyboard, and monitor to fit into that budget. I am really excited to build something with the new 3070 GPU but I'm not sure which mobo and CPU to pair with the new gen of GPU to squeeze all that juicy performance out of it. A friend of mine mentioned that the AMD CPU's have a technology that the Intel ones don't yet, and they have a much better price to performance ratio. I have heard that the newer mobo's have PCI-E 4 which the new GPU series takes advantage of, but which is suggested to pair with it? Planning on taking this person to the world of 1440p at 144hz from the 1080p that she is used to. Thank you!
