  1. Hello! I am looking at building a new Mini-ITX gaming system. Trying to keep it somewhat portable while keeping thermals down without actually going liquid cooling in order to be able to transport as my carry-on luggage when I travel. I am upgrading from my current system which isn't ideal or as powerful as I want. From what I have researched this new build should definitely out-perform my current setup. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated!!! Current Rig: - PC: Alienware Alpha R2 (I7 6700T, 16gb Ram (16x1), Samsung 860 Evo SSD 500GB) - External GPU: Alienware Amplifier with EVGA GTX 1070 FTW Future Build Info: - Use: Gaming/Video Editing - Games Played: Apex Legends, Tarkov, CoD, PUBG, GTA V, Rainbow Six Seige, Remnant from the Ashes - # of Monitors: 2 (LG Ultra-wide 29" 1080p and ACER 24" 1080p) - Already own - Peripherals: Steelseries Keyboard (RAW), Razor Naga Hex v2, Razor Tartarus V1 - Already own - External Storage: WD 2tb USBSS - Already own Build: MB: MSI b450i Gaming Plus AC Wifi CPU: Ryzen 52600x GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW (Already owned) RAM: Ballistix DDR4 2666 16GB (8x2) Internal Storage: Samsung 860 Evo (500GB)(Already Own) and Samsung 960 EVO M.2 (250GB Boot Drive) Cooling: Noctua Nh-L9a (Low Profile) PSU: Seasonic SFX Focus 650W Case: Louqe Ghost S1 Ive done some research and I think all of these will fit clearances inside the case but there could be more viable options out there and better cooling solutions but I am still learning about all of this. I helped my brother build his PC but it was in a full size ATX Tower and he bought a Micro ATX MB without knowing but we managed to make it work.
  2. Hi, I am from UK and would like to know if there are any improvements or better options I can make in this build, my budget is around £1,600-£1,700 but I'd like to stick around £1,650 since shipping and packing can be kinda expensive. I also own my current pc which I will want to sell it so I can add the rest of the money into this build if needed. In this budget I also need a Monitor, I do have an option but if there is something better please let me know. I do not need any other Peripherals since I already own some. I plan on game mostly(Games: Rainbow Six Seige, GTA 5, For Honor, Rust and such) but I will need this pc to do some college work such as Photoshop, blender and video recording. 3. So I’m looking to build a new a pc with a budget of 3000-3500 dollars, my motherboard is a ASUS ROG Maximus Extreme XI (EATX) and the case I was going for was the NZXT H700i however it won’t support an EATX, therefore I looked around and found this https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Cases/Software-Control-and-Monitoring-Cases/Obsidian-Series-500D-RGB-SE-Premium-Mid-Tower-Case/p/CC-9011139-WW#tab-overview which is a Corsair case that says it won’t support EATX however when I looked at pc part picker it said it was compatible. Can you guys tell me if it will fit? I have been looking around for a while but I can’t the answer , Thanks in advance.
  4. Hey All, i'm trying to build another PC for my work. I render on corona and it's CPU rendering not GPU so that's is what i'm thinking about and i would love to take some advices. const components: 1) Corsair spec 6 (mid tower) 2) Corsair 2*16GB 3000MHz 3) 750w 80plus 4) WD 2TB black I won't buy a GPU but in future will get on The problem is processor and motherboard... idk which choice i should take? First: (Threadripper 1950x) with ( Asus ROG STRIX X399-E GAMING Socket TR4 Motherboard ) >>>> Cost :17500 Second: (Intel Core I7-8700K Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.7GHz) with ( MSI MPG Z390 GAMING Plus Socket LGA 1151) >>>> Cost: 10000 Third: ( AMD RYZEN 7 2700X 8-Core 3.7GHz (4.3GHz Turbo) Socket AM4) with ( Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI Socket AM4) >>> cost: 9300 Help me or Guide me... i'm saving from 5 years and have money for all choices but I don't want to spend extra money on something i will not use So does it worth ? the threadripper
  5. I just build a new system with a ryzen 5 2600 and a rx 580 using the ASUS b450 prime mother bored every time I boot up the pc after about 2 minutes later it freezes. What’s the problem any ideas
  6. I just wanted to know before my time on aliexpress ends on returns, more on compatibility with cooler, drive, gpu issues. (Note : I'm building this computer for my brother's graduation out of high school) So I bought to build this build Xeon 2420 v2 (AliExpress - $24) EastVista X79 Motherboard (AliExpress - $62.39) PlexHD Memory DDR3 Ram 2x8 GB 1600mhz non ECC "for intel" (AliExpress - $48.42) MSI Armor RX 470 8GB (eBay - $80) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (eBay - $21) Seasonic S12III 500w 80+ Bronze Power Supply (Amazon - $39.99) Patriot Burst 120gb Sata SSD (Amazon - $17.99) Toshiba 1TB 2.5 HDD (Locally - $30) Phanteks P300 Case White (Locally - $30) Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut 11 Gram Tube (Locally - $20) I just wanted to know if all these parts are compatible, I wasn't too sure, pc part picker said the cooler is not compatible. I'm not knowledgeable with intel sockets, but is the cooler gonna fit? The graphics card isnt a problem?(like spec wise cause I only know about the newer gen cards 580 & up) Are the drives gonna work even though the motherboard only has a SATA II interface? Thanks for your responses in advance. :)
  7. I had a parts list made and I had ordered everything, and everything one by one started showing up, everything but the motherboard. I have all the parts to my PC in my bedroom but the motherboard never showed up. We repeatedly tried to re-order it but it kept cancelling itself and the motherboard is now discontinued and hard to find in new condition. I just need help to find a motherboard that works with the rest of the parts list I already have in a pile by my bed: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qfc6V6 Thank you for your help and patience as I've never built a computer before and I had a lot of help making this list from people on this forum so I thought I might as well come back as this is the most helpful place I've found.
  8. Hey guys and girls, Going to plan/build a new pc soon(ish) and one of my questions for my build is: Can I use an "old" GPU to save some money atm and after a few months upgrade it. The GPU I'm talking about is a ZOTAC GTX 760. For the build: Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming or a ASUS PRIME X470-PRO CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Cooler: Noctua NH-D15SE Memory: 2x G.Skill Aegis DIMM 16GB DDR4 3000MHz Power Supply: Corsair Modular RM650x 650W 80+ Gold Storage: NVMe Samsung 970 EVO 250 GB Will the GTX 760 work on this build? Got any tips? I'll gladly hear out your wise words I'm still pondering if I should wait a few months for the new AMD Ryzen 3000 ish to come
  9. Hello, A long-time viewer of the channel and generally curious in building a computer, never really got around to it cause I didn't have that much money and would go to a nearby gaming shop where we could rent computers by the hour... until now that I have a job and don't have the luxury of going to the nearest gaming shop and have a friend who I offered to help in building a PC for themselves. Just a bit of back story, I am from the Philippines and we have limited places in my area to find PC parts, we'd have to travel to the next town/city to the mall that possibly has more PC hardware stores, but it would still take a bit of time due to the number of store and differences in pricing for the parts, my friend wants to do casual/competitive gaming from time to time (games like Fortnite and some single-player games as well), she had mentioned that she might get a PS4 Pro or wait for the next PS5, I offered to help her build a PC instead since I know she works from home too and could benefit from something that can be used for more than one purpose. Another reason I want to build this PC for her is so that I can also know if what I make will possibly be good for me as well since I also play video games and need the pc for my hobbies and online work (I play CS: GO, PUBG, R6: Siege and some single-player games like Watch Dogs and Witcher) I've done a bit of research and wish to get a second opinion and some recommendations if possible, the prices I will put will be in Philippine Peso 'PHP' (for my kababayans out there) and in the rough conversion to USD At the time of this post, 1 USD = 52.53 PHP Currently, in my country, a PS4 Pro 1TB is priced at PHP 23,490 to PHP 30,499 / $447.17 to $580.60, depending on where you buy, my goal is currently to stay within that or close to it and to have a stable and reliable system for the next few years until an upgrade sounds or is a possible thing to do. Also, the prices I will be giving will be coming from the prices I get from Lazada.com (a kind of eBay in our country that's got delivery and a good system) I have decided to go with a Ryzen Build due to the news we've all heard recently Edit: I have used PC Parts Picker to try and see incompatibility issues and went with the B450 instead of A320M due to the BIOS needing an update in some models and I don't wanna take the risk of running into any delays or spend more money The parts I've chosen to prioritze first: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G Quad-Core 3.5 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo) - PHP 4,060 / $77.29 GIGABYTE GA-AB450M-DS3H Motherboard - PHP 4,229 / $80.51 GSkill Ripjaws V F4-3200C16D-16GVKB 16GB (8GBX2) DDR4 RAM - PHP 5,350 / $101.85 1TB/1000GB 3.5" SATA Internal HDD - PHP 1,999 / $38.05 Thermaltake Litepower True Rated 550 Watts Power Supply - PHP 1,895 / $36.07 Raidmax Ghost Gaming PC Case - PHP 1,795 / $34.17 ARCTIC MX-4 Thermal Paste / Thermal Grease 2019 Edition 2 Grams - PHP 300 / $5.71 What I plan to add later if budget is an issue: Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB DDR5 - PHP 7,800 / $148.49 Western Digital WD Green 120GB 2.5" SATA III 3D NAND SSD Solid State Drive - WDS120G2G0A - PHP 1,090 / $20.75 Build Phase 1 (No External GPU and SSD) - PHP 19,628 / $373.65 Build Phase 2 (With External GPU and SSD) - PHP 28,518 / $542.89 The build that I will be giving her will be connected to one of her TVs that she had used before when she still had her old PS4 that she recently sold, I hope to give her at least 720p or 1080p gaming on the system Links to the Lazada pages where I got the prices in case you're wondering: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G Quad-Core 3.5 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo) - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i175237008-s220278174.html GIGABYTE GA-AB450M-DS3H Motherboard - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i328590226-s701328694.html GSkill Ripjaws V F4-3200C16D-16GVKB 16GB (8GBX2) DDR4 RAM - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i4715254-s5915876.html 1TB/1000GB 3.5" SATA Internal HDD - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i327436142-s695718064.html Thermaltake Litepower True Rated 550 Watts Power Supply - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i324864756-s679082149.html Raidmax Ghost Gaming PC Case - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i310514496-s618548988.html ARCTIC MX-4 Thermal Paste / Thermal Grease 2019 Edition 2 Grams - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i301554840-s535140639.html Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB DDR5 - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i332430290-s729552983.html Western Digital WD Green 120GB 2.5" SATA III 3D NAND SSD Solid State Drive - WDS120G2G0A - https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i157935207-s191713359.html

  11. Feel free to suggest any necessary upgrades, point out bottlenecks, or anything you dislike about the build. I am currently upgrading some of the components (i.e. the mobo, RAM, etc). from what I currently have, but that will be reflected in the spec list (at least the part I am upgrading to). Wish I had some pictures to post, but I don't currently have any. Here are my specs: Processor: Intel i7-8700 k CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken x62 Motherboard: MSI MEG Z390 ACE Memory: 32 GB White Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (3200 Mhz) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 2TB (I have others but they're not anything worth mentioning). 12. Hey everyone! So Ive hit a bit of a rut when coming to choosing parts for my new PC. Quick little run down is that I am upgrading from my laptop (i7-7700hq, 16gb ddr4, 1050ti 4GB) to something a bit more beefy, and well Im planning to donate the laptop to my missus as she would love to play forza 3 with me, but her i5 mac is too overkill to the run the game ?. The laptop was fine when I had my old monitor but I find it cant really hit the 120fps mark for my new monitor on most games I have. The plan is to use it for primarily gaming, hopefully VR in the near future. Photoshop and also using some cad work as I need it for "school". I have around $2000-2200 Aud to spend, unfortunately the desktop needs to be wireless as the router is upstairs and my parents have no thoughts of changing that anytime soon, unless I run a 20m cable from upstairs to my room that is. this is what I have so far. (Located Victoria, Australia) PCCG link: New PC build The idea is to either get: MOBO OP1: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro WiFi Motherboard - $359 MOBO OP2: ASRock Z390 Steel Legend Motherboard and buy a wireless card - $259+ Any help is much appreciated!
  13. Hi, Just finished my first build and it is all up and running. The last hurdle now is getting Windows on it. I have an Asus Rog Strix Z390-I gaming MB and I can't seem to get it to boot off the USB and start the windows installation. I even got Microsoft to remote into my laptop to create the USB drive for it. They said in the instructions to restart and hold F2 at the same time but it only ever goes to a screen that says F1 for setup. in the boot order menu only the USB drive shows up so there is no way to change the order of the boot.

  15. Hi! I'm planning on building a 24-core, dual xeon workstation later this week. With future plans to expand to quad-sli, watercooling. Also future plans to upgrade to dual 22-core Xeon E5-2699 V4 (although this is definitely a future future plan...) Was a custom build or a Mac Pro... so here we are! Would there be any interest in a build-log? If there is I'll be sure to document the journey! Also, any questions re the build or anything else feel free to ask below! George!

  17. Hey! I was planning to make a new build for myself, but after choosing all the parts and peripherals for it, I now stumbled on which monitor to buy, since I don't know what's the best option out there. I'm building this system for gaming and for some work as well (with Unity and Unreal Engine 4). My computer specs are as follows: Strix X370-F Ryzen 7 2700 16gb DDR4 3466MHz Corsair H115i Pro MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z Seasonic Focus 650W 80+G 1TB M.2 2280 Crucial P1 NVMe PCI-E 3.0 x4 SSD 2TB 3.5" Seagate Barracuda 72000RPM 256MB SATA III https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Caeltha/saved/rJMGGX Now my problem is that I'm stuck deciding which will be my main display, and I don't know what I should go for. 24.5" 144Hz 1920 x 1080 is around 190€; 27" 144Hz 1920 x 1080 is around 260€; 27" 144Hz 2560 x 1440 is around 400€; 23.8" 144Hz 2560 x 1440 is around 340€; 27" 75Hz 2560 x 1440 is around 250€ I don't know what I should opt for for my main display, if I go for the higher refresh rate, higher resolution or higher display size. Any help? ^^"
  18. Hey all, so I got my hands on an old company computer that was rocking an i7-6700 on an Asus H110m-plus board. Nothing special but the cpu wasn't half bad, do you guys suggest building around that cpu? I was thinking of swapping the case, psu, adding a gpu and a new ssd. The build would look something like this : Case: phanteks P400 CPU: I7-6700 GPU: AMD RX580 8GB RAM: 2x8gb of hyper x fury 2133 DDR4 Motherboard: Asus H110-m plus Hdd: Seagate barracuda 1TB Ssd: Kingston UV 400 120GB PSU: Evga 500W bronze Any recommendations?
  19. I am having trouble with my recently built PC(Check specs/component list below). The system works normally while not gaming. (had high idle CPU temps but now it sits at 35-40C at idle, which is normal in India) But when I play moderately demanding games like CS:GO/Ruiner/Apex Legends it will run smoothly (no performance issue) but it will crash after 15-20 minutes, no warning or freezes, straight to black. After that it won't boot up until I turn off the PSU and wait for 10-15 seconds. Even if I leave the PC for hours, I have to reset the PSU to boot it up again. More information: Even though the idle temps are pretty reasonable now the CPU temps while gaming are a bit on the higher side (hovers around 68C, sometimes jumps till 80C) The RAM heats up(not sure if this happens always) a LOT when playing Apex Legends (90C), I am using the DOCP profile for the RAM to run it at 3200 Mhz and 1.35V (this was set by the profile), everything else on the BIOS is default I am using Kraken M22 as the cooler for my CPU The system NEVER crashed while normal operation. Also never crashed while playing DotA/LoL. Event Viewer always has this entry before it crashes. (Event ID: 6). 20. I just put together my build the other day and when I went to try to turn it on. It did not post. I have an Asus z270e gaming motherboard with a i7-7700k cpu, corsair vengeance 16 gb, corsair h100i v2 cooler, corsair cx750 power supply, samsung 850 evo boot drive, asus 1070ti. When i turn on the power supply switch the motherboard rgb leds light up near the io, the motherboard red/orange led is on the right side of the motherboard and the red gpu led near the 8 pin connector is on. when i power on the system to boot, all the fans spin, the heat sync lights up, the ram lights up, the gpu lights up. I took out the gpu and have dvi connected to motherboard, thinking maybe my gpu is bad but it still doesnt post. The 4 leds near the 24 pin connector dont light up to indicate what the problem may be in the boot process. Please help me.

  22. Hello, I am currently looking to upgrade/update the house PC, this was originally bought in 2013, but I have bought parts for this through the years (new cooler, PSU, GPU) but the rest now needs changing. At this point, it will be like building a new system. This is where I need advice. The parts I currently have that I don't believe really need changing are as follow: GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X PSU: Corsair 750i Everything else is needed. This will be mainly a home PC for family, but I would also like the ability to game on it also. But also not to break the bank with this one, so I've tried to find reasonably priced parts. Around £450 is the budget on this. The parts I have already selected are as follow: RAM: Vulcan T-Force 8GB (2x4GB) 2400MHz CPU: i5-9600KF 3.7Ghz (Coffee Lake) Motherboard: Gigabyte B360 HD3 SSD: Green 3D NAND 120GB M.2 2280 SSD HDD: 1TB Barracuda Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Total: £412.90 I'm not that much of a computer person, and I've not kept up with recent products, so any advice or changes any of you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. Like I said at this point it's basically building a new system with a couple parts I already have to work around. So any advice or ideas of parts that fit into my budget, that are better or more well suited would be a big help. Thank you!
  23. Hi All, So I am wanting to build my first PC. To be clear I have had loads of PC's in the past , all pre-built and essentially ready to go. I am an XBox gamer and not really into the whole PC gaming thing. What I need is a PC that is future proof, and can have components either swapped out due to a fault or to upgrade in the futrue. I need a system that I can do programming with as well as general web surfing. I do a lot of Auto Cad 3D design and photo editing. At the minuet I am running a Raspberry Pi 4B, which is a great little unit, but as it is light weight I need something with a full set up so I do not get restricted on full programs. In advance THANK YOU!.
  24. The TLDR version of this thread - I'm planning a new build from scratch and have some specific preferences for the motherboard: 6x SATA & onboard wifi in an mATX form factor. So far I've only found the Asus TUF-Z390 with wifi and... that's it. It will do the job, but I'd rather have other options to consider (the yellow/black colour scheme of the TUF boards is horrible), especially on the AMD side. Suggestions? If you need more details, please read on for the background... So my signature details both of my gaming builds - my original build from 2008 and its replacement in 2013. I've kept the old PC for an offline 32bit WinXP build, specifically to run my Win3.11/Win98 & 16bit games (my collection is something like 4-500 CDs/DVDs). The 2013 build was build with Win8 but took advantage of the free Win10 upgrade. The 2013 build is home to 28TB of HDD storage over 6x 3.5" drives and 3 SSDs totalling 2.5TB (1x 2.5" and 2x m.2 on a PCI-E bracket). My preference has always been to not go the NAS route, especially as network shares between the HTPC and gaming rig work well for my needs and adding another box seemed pointless for data I don't need remote access to. Both are full ATX builds and are in the UK. I'm now in California so moving either computer isn't possible for the time being (the Antec 1200 is 17.5kgs when empty). I'm therefore planning a replacement in the US. Budget is pretty flexible but I'm aiming to keep it in check at around $1k, not including GPU and monitor (since I haven't decided on whether to stick with 1920x1200 or upgrade to 2560x1440). The idea is to downsize the chassis but keep the options open to have as much storage as possible - therefore mATX is the best option for me. I'm also after a case that can sit on our new L shaped desk rather than on the floor (my UK rigs are on a wooden floor, it's carpet in SoCal). Main use will be gaming. I'm thinking of something like: Case - Thermaltake Core V21 CPU - i5 9600K or R5 3600X (obviously depends on the motherboard) Motherboard - ???? - at the moment only the aforementioned Asus board will fit. CPU cooler - thinking of an AIO as it's a PC that may end up travelling a bit, so a huge air cooler doesn't appeal. SSD - depends on eventual budget but bigger is always best for me, so a 2TB m.2 nvme drive PSU - Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum 650W (always willing to pay upfront if it helps keep the electricity bills down, which will help with the 4-9pm surge pricing we have to work around) GPU - depends on display but as I'm thinking of 1440p, probably the 2060 Super - don't need full max settings but something close is preferable. The 1660 Ti will probably cut it for 1200p. The Core V21 is the only locked component at the moment - it's an ideal case for me with 3x 3.5" & 3x 2.5" drive bays which should allow for 3x8TB and 3x4TB HDDs should I need them down the road. So I'm after a motherboard that will let me use all 6 mounts for storage drives (and 1, preferably 2x m.2 slots). As is probably obvious, I tend to rebuild every 4-6 years rather than constantly upgrade (apart from storage and GPU). CPU gaming/performance/price isn't the priority, I'm after the right motherboard to build around. Any suggestions welcome.
  25. Put it all together and no display I've unplugged everything and put it all back together checked my power supply and I can't figure it out. Also reset bios and nothing still...
