Hey guys, Old Gaming Rig CPU: i5-4690k MOBO: some GIGABYTE MICRO-ATX GPU: MSI 6GB 980ti Storage: 250gb Samsung EVO for OS, 1tb Seagate HDD , 2tb Barracuda HDD Memory: 16gb of DDR3 PSU: 700w Corsair GS700 i had this rig for around 3-4 years and everything was fine until i started experiencing some stuttering which i primarily noticed when i was gaming. The stutters seemed to happen once every 3-5 minutes and i remember them getting more intense around 2-3 months ago. Hardware Changed: I got tired of these stutters and decided to start changing some parts, my CPU was often at 100% usage when i was gaming and so i thought the stutters originated from this. So i purchased a Ryzen 3600x, an ASUS Prime x570-p, and 16gb of DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z. I also tried installing games from my HDD's to my SSD's to see if it was a HDD issue but the stutters also happened. I removed the 2 HDD's from my build entirely and am running with the 3 SSD's: 250gb evo, 120gb from amd, and 500gb Kingston. Once all parts were put in and functioning i started checking temps and tried gaming again and i quickly noticed the stutters had not gone away. I then went onto the next possible problem, my GPU. I bought a MSI 2070 8GB Armour and installed it in and tried gaming, and although my PC's overall performance greatly increased but the stutters are still happening every 2-3 minutes. New Gaming Rig: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x MOBO: ASUS Prime X570-P Ryzen 3 AM4 ATX GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Armour 8GB Storage: (same one as old build)250gb Samsung SSD, (same one as old build)120gb AMD Radeon 7 SSD, 500GB Kingston SSD Memory: G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZR Trident Z 16gb 3200 MHz DDR4 PSU: SAME ONE AS OLD BUILD - 700 watt Corsair GS 700 Software Based Tests done/noticed: - Fully wiped each drive and reinstalled a clean version of windows and started everything anew 2 weeks before buying the new parts. - In the performance tab of Task Manager and on MSI Afterburner every time i experience one of these stutters i see i dip in the GPU usage. - Used HWmonitor, MSI afterburner, Core Temp to monitor my cpu and gpu temps to and it never goes above 70 degrees Celsius when gaming. - I have run numerous benchmarks/stresstests with 3Dmark to see any problems and no stutters appeared. - I used a samsung monitor software to stress test my SSD's with no problems detected. - I flashed my BIOS to get the newest version from the MOBO's website. - Updated Ryzen drivers, Chipset drivers. - Followed a lot of online forums which said to change certain settings in the Nvidia Control Panel, to change timers using CMD, to change cpu performance modes to 99% instead of 100. - Used Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to uninstall drivers and install older drivers to no avail. What i think might be the issue So im considering changing my PSU because its literally the only part i haven't changed apart from my SSD's which i dont think are the problem because they seemed to pass the stresstests. I read somewhere that if the PSU isnt giving the gpu or other parts constant voltage or enough it can cause dips in the parts performance? However, i dont want to spend anymore money without a guaranteed fix because its been a pretty expensive past few weeks... hoping you guys can see something i haven't. Thanks for your help!!

Hello, I am about to order parts for a new build. PC Part Picker says compatibility is good but I have come here for reassurance. Could you please have a look at my parts list and let me know if this is all good. I am mostly concerned about the compatibility of the Motherboard with the GPU and Wi-fi Card. I may also use the MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE motherboard so if you could let me know if this board is also compatible. So I recently upgraded my GPU and when playing Need for Speed Heat or Battlefield V, I notice that the GPU load never goes past 60% yet the CPU is consistently at 100%. I crank up as many settings as I can and all it seems to do it just lower frames. In NFS, I am getting around 70-90 fps and in BF its closer to 60-70. Am I doing something wrong? I made sure to download the newest drivers after installing the new GPU. My guess is that the CPU is bottle-necking the GPU but I really don't know all the much about it. I have been researching but not coming up with anything useful. Thank you! Hey! So I have built my new pc and I immediately was forced to return my RAM because heatshield after 4 day wasn t attached to RAM :( NOW I have everything back on and my Audio is not working. When I plug in Mic and headphone jack in front ports, POP UP shows on my screen what is it that i plugged in (Input or Mic; headphones or input) I select Mic and then Headphones. I can hear sound through headphones but they are NOT RECOGNIZED by pc and I am still on speakers. I cannot get my 5.1 Speakers running because when I plug it in orange, black, green port (not line out) i won t hear a Sh*t , when i test it with windows those beeps will sound in every single one of them , but YouTube or Games etc. won´t play. I assume that because Headphones are not being recognized my MIC that is on them is not also recognized so there for it is not working. ANY IDEAS HOW TO GET IT TO WORK? I am desperate heh :/ . At the moment I have only green jack in Line Out , so I have 2 speakers out of 5 running. Motherboard GIGABYTE AORUS B450 Elite - audio controller is enabled in BIOS Tried unninstalling driver in device manager, did not work.

Budget (including currency): around 5000 Euro Country: Greece I'm building a new PC for a friend who is an orthodontist, and has decided to upgrade his main PC at work. The last time he did such an upgrade, he bought a desktop from the company (Sirano) that makes the software they use (inLab) for 3d modeling and 3d printing implants, bridges etc. This time he thought to give custom build a try because what they are offering is way overpriced, and 2-3 years behind in specs. The problem that i'm facing is that there is no mention of requirements from their website, not even pricing, and from what I've heard they're pushing pretty hard their own hardware, so much so that the warranty for their software is void if it runs on other software. What I'm looking for is anyone with experience with this specific software to advise on hardware requirements (CPU support , RAM usage, min vRAM , GPU the works), i'm interested in an AMD based workstation if the software is working with them properly.

Budget (including currency): ~7000 RON Country: Romania Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CSGO, PUBG, Scrap Mechanic, Programming, Automotive simulations, etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So for my new build I was wondering to purchase the followings: - Case: Be Quiet Silent Base 600 - CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X - CPU Cooler: Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 - Memory: HyperX Fury 2x16GB 3600MHz CL17 - MB: GIGABYTE X570 AORUS PRO - GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER - Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 1TB, NVMe, M.2 Any thoughts or opinions? EDIT: I forgot to mention that for PSU I have a Corsair TX550M, 550W, 80+ Gold and I was planning to use it for this build. Also, for cooling I wanted to add two extra fans, a 120 mm and a 140mm. Also, even though I like to casually play games, I use only 1080 75 hz monitors. The purpose of the GPU is to be able to run games with decent fps, but also for other tasks like MATLAB simulations or TensorFlow networks.

Hello everyone, I recently built my first PC but I've been having some trouble ever since I transferred over my SSD from my old PC with it's Windows 10 OS and all it's old files. It's still got all the old intel and motherboard drivers I no longer need and I've having problems. I would like to somehow keep everything that's important. Games, photos, files etc but start fresh with a fresh setup that's built for Ryzen instead. Can I keep my same Windows licences to do this? or do I need to get a new one? Also how do I transfer over what I need without getting all the junk that's left over from my last PC? Any advice would be much appreciated. I have an external drive I could put stuff on while working on clearing the SSD.

Hello, I'm planning on building my first PC. I have been saving up for a year or so now and I am looking at spend a maximum of $3300 AUD. I have put in a link to my PC Part Picker. My parts total just over $3200 AUD including a monitor. Could you let me know of any monitor with 1080p, 144hz-166hz, 30-32inch gaming monitor for under $450 AUD. I had already picked out one AOC C32G2E but I am not sure if this is very good. Could you also please let me know if the parts look good or if I should change anything around. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/FredHill/saved/#view=7sb68d

Hey guys, I am definitely new to this forum and relatively new to PC building. However, I really want to build a PC for myself for gaming and normal use. I have a list of parts that I picked out for this build. I just wanted to share it with everyone to see what the more experienced people think about it. I am from Canada and I have a budget of $1200 CAD for this build, so if anyone can help me reduce the price anywhere that would be SUPER! I have not added any peripherals and I am approximately at $1320 CAD. So yeah, heres my list. CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive AND Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive GPU: Asus Radeon RX 480 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card Case: Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case PSU: Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Thanks,

Howdy all!! i need your mass opinion. I'm trying to build a new small form factor enthusiast ITX gaming rig, i have picked out the fractal core 500 series case to build it in. My issue now is i originaly wanted to to a Ryzen build but alas mITX boards are yet to be available!!! with only very few company's giving previews and NO ETA dates that i've been able to dig up!! so heres my question to ya!! Do i continue wating!!?? or do i just break down and go with I7 7700k. Now few extra things to consider. i know longer have a gaming desktop right now, i managed to get a decent price for my old one so its gone!! I'm sure everyone knows here how difficult it can be to sell a 5+ year old enthusiast machine and get a alright price for it. Aslo ryzen 5 is coming out!!! do i wait to see how the 1600x stacks up in gamaing!!?? could it perform almost as good as the 7700k at significantly lower price!!? that basically all this machine will be used for, that and media, and last thing?? i want this machine to be as hassle free as possible. with the limited RAM support of ryzen currently would that be a good reasson to stick intel?? so heres my back up intel build i've put together i7 7700k Asus strix z270i mobo 32 gig 16x2 3200 tridentZ series ram Samsug Evo 850 500gb ssd Corsair cs750m PSU Fractal core 500 Case Corsair h105 cooler MSI GamerX GTX1070 i have the case, gpu, ssd, and PSU already so those I'm sticking with them. Also if anyone could confirm that the h105 will work easily in that case that be sweet!! i know they use in a couple review videos of that case including the Hardware canucks video. i just want to be sure! i WILL be OC'ing this machine so don't ask to confirm. now i do know alot of your advice will just be speculation. Especially on the 1600x but any advice will be helpfull!! Thanks everyone!!

Hello All,I wanted some advice on my PC problem. I have a Dell XPS One 2710 bought around 2013-2014 and spent + $2600 (I know it was a rookie mistake and I spent way too much). The motherboard doesnt work and Dell said none of its vendors carries this motherboard anymore and to just scrape this PC and buy a new one (motherboard alone online costs +$800). What I wanted to do was salvage the parts and build my first computer desktop since I spent soo much money on this All in One and I can imagine it must have some pretty good parts. I wanted to build a new gaming computer with the parts but I would like some advice on which motherboard type and size should I be looking at. I dont have a case size in mind as the build will rely on the parts to determine that. But any suggestions on the type and size of a new motherboard I should be looking at and case size? I want to do built my first PC and could use any and all the advise I can get.Ideal I would love to save the CPU, ram sticks, hard drive, and dvd drive if at all possible and if you all think i can save other parts please let me know (wlan or tv card?)Mo- TheRookieBuyerPs. This is list of the parts my All in One included-dont know if it helps and can I salvage the Microsoft key already installed there?:-3rd gen Intel Core i7-3770S processor 3.10GHz with Turbo Bost 2.0 up-8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAm at 1600MHz-2 DIMMs-nVidia GeForce Gt 640M 2GB DD R5-2 TB-7200RPM, SATA 3.0 Gb/s, 16 MB Cache-Windows 8, 64-bit-8X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW)-Power Supply 235W

Hello guys i'm a new member in the forum (but i use it to search for tips and stuff like that) and i'm planning to build a pc with a ryzen cpu but i'm thorn appart between teh 1400 and 1600 (i plan to buy locally so here it is: Case: ~45€ PSU: SEASONIC S12II-520 80+ bronze (64.80€) RAM: 8gb Gskill Aegis cl15 2400 mhz (1stick , plan to add another in 6-12months) (64.90€) Motherboard: Asus Prime b350-plus (109.90€) Graphics Card: Sapphire RX480 4gb Nitro OC (209€) CPU: ryzen5 1400 (197€) OR ryzen5 1600 (255€) ? Total with ryzen 1400: 691.50€ Total with ryzen 1600: 749.50€ i only have three questions : should i go with the 1600 or the 1400? Is the 1600 worth it ?(read notes). And should i get the same psu but 620watts(78€)? I can go for both budgets but is it worth the extra money for the 1600? Cause with 50€ i can have a nice dinner with my gf lol Note1: i decided to buy in the best and cheapest local store, and i live in a group of islands that belong to portugal (The Azores) so dont mind the expensive prices since its normal and i dont want to buy online. Note2: please dont tell me about the rx580s because here they are a lot more expensive and not like rest of europe launch price or america ... Instead of dropping the 480 price they kept it and bumped the 580 price lol Note3: i already have an HDD and an SSD from my old and broken pc . I ve been waitting for ryzen since freakin january and i'm thirsty to build this baby and game. Note4: me and my brother like to use photoshop, lightroom, after effects, vegas pro. My brother used to make youtube vids before our pc died and he will continue to edit in the new pc. I plan to keep this pc for the next 4-5 years (at least trough university) without getting a new one since i'm not rich and worked hard to buy this pc for me and my brother (i'm 20 and he's 18 btw) . thanks in advance and please tell me if i made any mistake!

I've been planning on the parts from my new build and I've come up with a total sum a bit more than my budget. So I need to know if I can compromise the GPU just a bit but if I still can get enough performance. The argument is between Gigabyte Radeon RX460 WINDFORCE OC 4GB DDR5 and Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB DDR5. Obviously the latter is better, but it costs much more in my country and I need to know if I should tone down to a cheaper CPU(currently I plan on buying the Intel® 7th Generation Core™ i5-7500 Processor ) in order to save the money for the GTX 1050 Ti OC. Please share your opinions on the topic and let me know if there are better alternatives while managing price. By the way please make sure the card is of the same price or cheaper than the GTX 1050Ti if you wanna recommend another one.

Guys i built myself a new ryzen system but i didnt buy a new drive and used my old one as my only drive and boot drive ... it booted ryzen with my old os and everything . I reseted win10 (from the os , not a usb or something) and cleaned the drive , and activated windows ... but at startup the drive goes like crazy to 100% usage , is that normal ? 500gb WD blue drive , its 1-2 years old . It detects all ryzen 5 1600 cores and all that stuff , only the drive is lagging my pc at startup . So should i get an ssd or do a fresh install of win10 from a usb or a cd ? After startup it runs well but if i start steam or chrome for the first time it skipps , is that normal ?
