Budget (including currency): >$3800 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: God of War, Cyberpunk 2077, Darktide, etc. Also might use for some graphics/music production. Other details: This build is entirely from scratch and will also be my first ever PC build. I have a few friends who are super into tech, but they're also in wildly different camps about brands/specs. As such, I have two build lists that I've put together with a combination of their recommendations and my limited knowledge/google-fu. As I have no real expertise or applicable knowledge, I don't know which to choose, or even if both are missing the mark. Honestly, budget isn't a major concern as if my decided build is above my current price point, I'll just save up for a little longer. I'm looking for a system that will play the latest games on Ultra and will be moderately future proof. If I can do some music production and/or Blender on the side that's a plus.

Hi All! Firstly thanks for popping in and this is in Australian English . My situation is that I would like part/setup advice/suggestions in relation to a new network setup. I am currently in the process of building a home in Australia (yet for concrete to be poured). This house is going to have what we call in Australia FTTP which just means a Fibre connection into the house (as linked). This is the first time I have had access to start from scratch networking wise. I would really appreciate some advise in relation to what this community would suggest solution wise. I am not on a specific 'budget' per say but I have not won the lottery either nor am I a networking genius. My mission has many separate operating capability outcomes that I am looking to solve with your suggestions or what I have just overlooked completely. 1) A central 12-18RU Server Rack & 10gb switch that is capable of supplying a solution. 2) To have Cat6A/E or fibre connection to every room. 3) A dedicated secure storage server (I currently have a spinning drive setup but would be looking to keep/move offsite and upgrade to Solid State Storage) 4) A dedicated media server running plex. 5) A dedicated local security camera setup including POE access for 4-8 Cameras (with no monthly subscription and I "own/control" the data) 6) All TVs/monitors have access to view the "security camera channel" 7) To have a media connection directly to every room(HDMI/DP) 8) WIFI solution to cover entire house & small backyard. 9) Have two rack mounted computers that will be accessible around the house. 10) Have a PSU that will trigger a safer shut down sequence. Attached and below is the current electrical plan that iv'e worked on

Budget (including currency): 1500 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Cyberpunk, MW2, Elden Ring, Tomb Raider, Callisto Protocol, War zone 2 etc Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have a PC I inherited from my youngest brother after he tragically passed away in 2020. Its showing its age and cant run some of the newer games I want to play like Guardians of the Galaxy. The case is held together with some tape and runs on an AMD 8350 and MSI Gtx 970 (he was notoriously cheap, hence the tape, and missing power button cap etc.) So Ive decided to upgrade Baelub (named after my brother Caleb) to a new computer based on his legacy. Miss you bro. I have the following planned with some already purchased: CPU: Intel Core i7-12700KF 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor ($328 @ Amazon Sale) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler ($113 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 GAMING X DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($165 @ Amazon warehouse) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2X16GB) DDR4 3200 C16 Memory ($90 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($190 @ Amazon Sale) Video Card: EVGA FTW3 ULTRA GAMING LHR GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR 10 GB Video Card ($550 @ Facebook Marketplace Used) Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case ($85 @ eBay New) Case Fan: ARCTIC P12 PST 56.3 CFM 120 mm Fans 5-Pack ($35.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE GOLD 750 V2 FULL MODULAR 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($74 @ Amazon Used) Total: $1641 taxes + shipping included. Im a noob. So my question is this, is this overkill? Im trying to guild around the GPU which I got for a great price. Should I downgrade to an i5? Is this a feasible build? Any help, critiques, etc are welcome. I've done as much research as I can, but I'm not dumb enough to think I know what I'm doing yet! The only real "solid" items here are the GPU, and Case. All the other stuff can be returned to Amazon if needed. My monitor is a Benq 120hz Led XL2410T, so I realize I might need to upgrade this to get the benefits of new computer (any suggestions would be helpful so I can save up for one) Thank you for reading

When it first happened i took all the cables out of my pc and turned it off for a while then like 2 hours later it turned on properly and worked for 30 mins till it did it the same half shuttdown thing again. When its in the half off mode i can force shuttdown but when i turn it back on it goes into half off mode again. I disconnected my psu completely and did the paper clip check and the fans started running. I think this is a heat related issue but i think u guys would know better than me. This build is about 4 years old but i had the psu replaced with a new one last year since it bricked on me. Budget (including currency): ~2500 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Heaviest workload : AAA Games Movies, Maybe some ML (i am just a beginner), FPS Games Light Workload: Movies , Netflix, Anime etc Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a 34 inch ultrawide monitor WQHD(3440 X 1440). I want to play games at max setting at 60Hz at least. I have researched the parts and these are the parts I have currently selected : CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor ($389.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($149.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($189.99 @ B&H) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($124.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($104.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR 10 GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING LHR Video Card ($779.99 @ Amazon) Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case ($104.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair HX850 Platinum 850 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($159.99 @ Amazon) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home OEM 64-bit ($119.95 @ Adorama) Case Fan: Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE 47.7 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack ($70.98 @ Amazon) Total: $2245.84 I don't think I will be overclocking. Not sure about the motherboard though. I don't exactly understand the difference between B660 or z690 . Does it make a difference in gaming performance ? Another concern is about clearance of the GPU, ram and the cooler. Aesthetics is not a priority. -

Budget (including currency): $1000 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Destiny 2, Far Cry 6, Fallout, Warzone, Cyberpunk. High end gaming on the highest settings. Other details: Firstly I appreciate anyone who is able to pass on their knowledge and expertise. I have been wanting to build my own loop and would like to side with quality while getting the best bang for my buck. I have been told that EKWB has the best quality so I went onto EKWB and built what I would like my set up to look like. I have a feeling that I can find parts of this EK build in other brands for cheaper. That is why I am asking for help. Should I fork out the money to EK for quality sake or should I mix and match from other reputable brands that you know and trust? The main thing to me is to have a Distroplate D5 pump combo. Other than that I am very open to any product suggestions to get me the high end cooling that I am going after with my first custom loop. What suggestions do you have for the best distro plate pump combo for my Thermatake P3? I will attach pictures of what my build currently looks like and the EKWB shopping cart.

Budget (including currency): $2,500-2,700 (USD) (Shekel-to-USD-converted) Country: Israel Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Most demanding games + Adobe Premiere OK, I've decided to go with the highest end (?) Z690 (~$315 in Israel), but which one do I buy? What about the Z690 as far as future proofing is concerned? (13th Gen? Any knowledge about whether or not the socket will be changed?) I just watched the entire "How to build a PC, the last guide you'll ever need!" (1x, super attentively!) Non-negotiable: 3080 Ti (~$1,550 in Israel), i7-12700 (~$430), Z690 (~$315) (Is it the highest end?) (Total - $2,295 so far. Is my total budget of $2.5-2.7k reasonable?) I have NO idea where to start regarding the case. As it is my first build, I do want it large enough - ATX (mid-tower?) I want it to be super-beautiful, non-plastic-y, good with air-flow, but I think the MOST important aspect for me is - how easy it is to build. So, no. 1 - building, no. 2 aesthetics ("beauty"), no. 3 air-flow. Generally speaking, I like mesh with tempered glass. Do the fans generally come in the box with the case? Should I be looking into getting other fans from a different / better manufacturer? Am I right in assuming all other components will "fall into place", once a motherboard, case, GPU and CPU are picked? (using https://pcpartpicker.com/ ) Is this the recommended site for compatibility? I do appreciate people's input here!

Hi guys, I am planning on building a new pc and was firmly set on getting a RX 6900 XT but now I'm not so sure and need help deciding. From what I could gather the 6900 XT out performs the 3080 in raw performance but misses out on dlss and better raytracing. I am planning on playing a few newer titles like CP2077, Microsoft Flight Sim, but primarily heavily modded Minecraft preferably with shaders (@ 1440p 165hz) but I see quite a few people having performance issues with their amd card. In Australia the 6900xt is also ~$100 cheaper for context. I was also planning on pairing it a ryzen 7 5800x3d but I'm probably going to opt an intel i7-12700k because is has better single threaded performance (minecraft is single-threaded) I am also worried about the performance loss in other games by switching to a i7-12700k over the 5800x3d. I also understand that newer GPUs are releasing but I don't think I can wait any longer. Questions: 1. should I go RX 6900 XT or RTX 3080 10GB? 2. Is it worth spending extra to get the 3080 10GB? 3. Is the extra performance in modded minecraft worth it over other games performance? (I'll probably infrequently play other games) 4. What is the better choice of CPU in my circumstance? If you have any questions for me feel free to shoot me a reply Thanks, Benjamin

Budget (including currency): RM7500-8000 Country: Malaysia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I currently play games like, Dota, Bioshock Infinite, God of War, Nier Automata, It Takes Two, Forza Horizon, and will mostly place games within these categories. And I use applications such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop quite often, but only as a hobby. I also appreciate good sound quality output from the PC, as I am also using the Logitech Z906 as my speakers now. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Only the PC is required because I am starting from nothing and have nothing to upgrade from, as I already a set of good speakers, mouse and keyboard (Logitech MX Masters 3S & MX Mechanical). Monitor (Viewsonic VA2932-MHD) is reasonable as well, which is not a priority. I hope that I can make a full black build, as I think that is the cleanest look for my set up. No RGB Is required. Not sure about the exact size of the PC that I need, but would definitely want something like the Fractal Torrent Nano/Compact, if possible. As the smaller size would be greatly appreciated, as real estate is slightly limited on my desk/floor. Currently, I have been running all my tasks and work on laptops, Asus GL752VW(Permanently mine), Asus FA701I(Not permanently mine) and a Macbook Pro 2020 13 Inch for work (Two Ports). And I am quite tired of the switching of everything, whenever I am doing different tasks between the two windows laptop. I actually have been wanting to have my own PC ever since I was a teenager, because I used to have my own back then, but it was shared between my brother and I, and it was placed in my living room. But ever since I have had my own room, I have just gotten laptops to save spaces, but the sound and heat dissipation is not efficient, and loud from the laptops. And is it even possible to build a PC, without the graphics card installed first, then later on, only adding one down the road, once everything else is set up in the PC itself? Would it still be functional? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I have been thinking about this for the longest times, but never really had the courage, as I know that PC components are really fragile, and I dont want to mess anything up. I have watched plenty of videos on youtube, but the combination of CPU, Motherboard and Graphics Card compatibilities are quite intimidating to me, as I am not sure which goes well with what without causing any bottlenecks. If are any requirements to have a look at my current set up, please just let me know, as I would be glad to share. Thanks to whoever spent their precious time in going through this and assisting me as well, it is very kind of you.

Budget (including currency): 2000 - 2100 USD/EUR Country: Bulgaria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk, Red Dead Redemption, Horizon Series, Total War Warhammer, Paradox Grand Strategy Games Other details: PC Part Picker. I've attached a more accurate description in .xlsx and .txt format with prices (total atm is 2045 USD). Hi, everyone, I have no previous experience building PCs, and I'm trying to make my first build. The PC I'm trying to build is going to be used primarily for non-competitive gaming, mostly open world RPGs and strategy games, with some MMOs, as well as some reading and videos on the internet. My biggest concern is whether the parts I've picked are a good match and if they are compatible. They should be, it's what I was most concerned with, but I did get a warning on pcpartpicker.com about the motherboard BIOS. I don't mind spending a bit for aesthetics, but I'm want to avoid flashy RGB light shows. Do you have any suggestions how I can optimize the current build? I'd really appreciate any questions, comments, or ideas you might have. Thanks. New PC Build.xlsx New PC Build.txt -
Heyo! I was planning on getting a computer a while back, but life kinda got in the way. I finally have the money again, but I was told reccomendations from about a month ago are probably outdated by now. Budget (including currency): 1,400 - 1,550ish USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: apex, cyberpunk, hopefully newer high graphics games and hopefully some simple VR games. Other details: My Current PC that I did not build: - AMD Athlon x4 860K Quad Core Processor - 8GB DDR3 - 1TB HHD - 500gb SSD - AMD Radeon R7 360 Series I have to play on the lowest graphics, and generally dont get above 20 fps in shooters I was recommended these 2 most recently: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tbyWtn https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mGyjJM For the second build, I included the pro versions of the SSDs, but I have no clue what that means or if it is worth the $10 difference. I also included the rbg version of the ram I was reccomended since it was cheaper than the normal. Is RBG ram worse than normal or something? I am not sure how to tell what is actually good for a gaming computer though. How do I know what will work? I still don't really know what I am doing, but this is what I think I need: - 1tb or more SSD M.2 NVME - a smaller SSD M.2 NVME as a boot drive - 16gb DDR4 ram - At least 4 cores, but I think that is getting outdated? So probably 6 if it is at all reasonable within the budget - 3 more usb 2.0 or 3.0 (is the difference worth it?) - 1 or 2 HDMI ports - bluetooth if it isnt too expensive - are the fans build into the case enough? - I heard that you can legally buy windows 11 super cheap by buying just a key or something? It honestly went right over my head

Budget (including currency): $3500 AUD (equiv. ~$2500 USD) Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming - (Heavily modded Minecraft (maybe with shaders? )), and possible newer titles Cyberpunk 2077 and Microsoft Flight Sim at around ~144-165fps 1440p Hey guys, I am looking to build a gaming pc but I feel I need some guidance regarding the parts I have chosen as it is my first time. I am going for a primarily white build with either white or blue lighting My budget currently is $3500 AUD but I am willing to spend more if need arises Feel obliged to critique the components below and suggest improvements/optimisations Current Monitors: 2x Acer 27" QHD 165hz Gaming Monitors (Model #UM.HV1SA.S01-RY0) The Build [===================================+===================================] Part List: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/LPW66r $599 - CPU: Intel i7-12700K (Umart) $260 - CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix 360mm ARGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler - White (Umart) $549 - Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z690-A D4 (Umart) $209 - Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 White (PC Case Gear) $299 - Storage: Samsung 2TB 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe SSD (Umart) $999 - GPU: RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB Vision OC (Umart) OR $1099 ASUS Radeon RX 6900 XT TUF OC (PC Case Gear) $109 - Case: Corsair Carbide 275R Airflow (Umart) - REQUIRED $209 - PSU: Corsair RM850x (PC Case Gear) $3163 to 3263 - TOTAL $337 to 227 - Under Budget [===================================+===================================] Questions: 1. Is the Rx 6900 xt worth the extra $100? 2. Am I over spending on the motherboard? 3. Are the chosen components good and can it be improved? 4. Are there similar/ better alternatives for cheaper? 5. Is the PSU sufficient? I'm currently building my first PC and I'm at a point where all I need to have a running PC is my Mobo, storage, and memory. This week I'm able to afford that but I'm only able to get two dims of ram over the four I was originally planning for, but I'm also really wanting to setup my PC so I'm more then willing to wait a couple of weeks to upgrade up to four, so my question is if I were to get two dims now would I need to do anything other than stick the final two dims in when I get them and activate XMP, or is there something more complicated and or annoying that would happen that would make waiting worth it?

I've had my computer for almost 2 years now and have replaced my cpu cooler twice, and I may have to do it a third. I had my pc be made by NZXT bld and it worked great for about the first 8 months. I noticed an extreme amount of heat coming from my cpu and had replaced the cooler. The cooler is a Kraken M22. I just recently did my research on this product and noticed several discrepancies in its build. I was wanting to know if there was any other cpu cooler I can use that can combat this heat coming from my I7-9700k cpu. The added file shows the heat at the time of this post, with nothing but google chrome and nzxt cam running in the background. If you have any other questions about my computer and its specs, please ask, I wish to get this problem resolved as quickly and professionally as possible. I appreciate your help in this and hope this can be resolved soon. Thank you. Apologies for not clarifying, but that temperature is in Fahrenheit.
