So as the Title says, I'm interested in getting rid of my old i7 2700k Sandybridge gaming PC (which i built like 4-5 years ago) and now am looking to update. Currently I play modern games. Here's a short list so you get the idea. CS:Go, World of Tanks, LOTRO, The Division, Ghost Recon, Battlefield 1, Starwars Battlefield, and a few hundred steam games. Such as Conan, or Torchlight 2, Trine 3.... you get the point. Anyway. I Mainly play games on this pc. But I'd like to start streaming my game time. I have a 2 - 3 monitor setup. (currently 2 but would like to upgrade to a 3 sometime soon). My Hardware is currently using a GTX970. I'm watching Netflix normally on 1 monitor (when not streaming) and gaming on the 2nd. When I stream it would be on 1 monitor and game on the 2nd. So.. Currently I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard and processor & ram. I currently am using a Samsung SSD 850 grey and as i said am still going to use my 970 for now. I would say 95% of the time i'm gaming. streaming/watching netflix or twitch. I would NOT say i'm doing word processor, excel or anything work releated on this system. mainly 95% for gaming. What would you guys recommend for me for a setup for a new motherboard and processor. Would RYZEN benefit me with my play style. -
So as title shows I wanna be able to use a VPN to watch American Netflix in the UK and I know Netflix has been blocking lots of different VPN's like the one I used to use. It would be great if it was free to be honest, but any help is awesome! Many thanks, Adam

As the title says. I recently got an i5-7600k for my new build and will soon be getting a 4k monitor. I heard that kaby lake supports it but does the desktop app support it? Thanks! -

This is what was promised to us with the release of the pascal line of GPUs. But they didn't fulfill, and neflix 4k is only supported on Intel's Kaby Lake CPU line. Now the Nvidia 1xxx series has proven to decode the netflix standard but netflix still refuse to support it on Nvidia GPUs. Help me change their minds. Sign this petition on Change.org Thanks Guys.

For weeks i've been unable to get into my own netflix account. when i try to log in, it says "invalid password" or something of the sort. Of course, your probably thinking that i put in my password wrong but i know i put it in right. ill triple check. ill even take a photo of what i inputed. it got to the point where i changed my password and it still wouldnt let me in. is there a way to fix this? or has anyone else had this problem?

Hey everyone, I just installed my logitech z506 to my pc and wanted to test it out on Netflix. The windows 10 sound test works fine, as well gaming the speakers work fine. However when using the Netflix app for windows 10, even when i have 5.1 audio selected, no sound comes out from the side speakers. Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions???

Hello, i've been trying to make a as low cost as possible build that supports netflix 4k streaming. its incredibly vague what is required for netflix 4k streaming from a pc since it doesn't really tell on netflix their own site for some dubious reason. from what i've gathered it has to support: hdmi 2.0 with dhcp 2.2 support 7th gen intel processor (celeron, pentium, i3/i5/i7 xeon etc) the proper HEVC decoder (whatever that might be, someone feel free to explain) so if someone has suggestions on what cheap motherboards support this than feel free to post them bellow. its very hard to find them since very very little manufacturers post their HDMI version and i've never seen them mention the DHCP version. -
So this is the situation as it stands. I live in the UK and they have just passed some really questionable laws on data privacy and data collection/hoarding meaning your ISP has to log all your data. So I go out and immediately subscribe to a VPN service because it just doesn't sit right with me. I am moving house in a couple of weeks and I will be redesigning our network infrastructure to make it more reliable and robust and whilst I am at it I have been looking into setting up the VPN on the router level to protect every device in the house. Now whilst this is great for privacy etc as a household we all have subscriptions to Netflix and Amazon Prime etc. Netflix doesn't like you using a VPN to access their servers, even if you access it from the same country that you live in, so my question is: Is it possible to create two separate VLANs one for devices that people want to be protected by the VPN and then another one that we can connect things like games consoles and apple tv type devices to so they can reach netflix without issues. I'm fairly certain that it is possible but what sort of equipment will be needed to make it work. I'm assuming that it will be a managed switch and a couple of access points for wireless devices. But will I need a separate router for each VLAN? Or am I just making this really complicated and I should just resign to using the VPN on a per device basis?

source: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4457 there are other caveats too: SLI is not supported - video cards must be unlinked if you have more than one display connected, all of them must support HDCP 2.2 or the stream will be reduced to 1080p although Pascal based video cards were launched 1st, and nVidia made a selling point that they fully support Netflix UHD streaming, Intel was the 1st HW vendor to actually provide Netflix UHD playback with their Kaby Lake CPUs since this "preview" requires an insider built, it's most likely that the capability is not baked into current retail version of W10 and would be added later with an update of sorts

The hacking group 'thedarkoverlord' (-Twitter) Has hacked into a LA ADR company and released the new season of OITNB (Orange Is The New Black). They have spoken to torrent freak about this and claim to have large amounts of unreleased content from both film and television. thedarkoverlord was in talks with Larson Studios in an attempt to hold the content they had stolen ransom for the price of 50 Bitcoins (~£51,819.00) Larson Studios signed the contract agreeing to this however failed to pay the requested 50 Bitcoins It looks like thedarkoverloard means serious business about the content they are holding as leverage and it is possible we may see more leaks in the near future.... Dear community, Is there currently any workaround to enjoy Netflix 4k on my PC? I know that I need a 7th gen CPU from Intel for it but I dont get why I should not be able to watch it with my 2000€ X99 PC.. You would serve me a huge favour if someone knew a workaround! Kind regards -
Hi there, I'm trying to solve some problems with my dual monitor setup for a while now, nothing helped so far. Main problem: I have stuttering while watching netflix on the windows 10 app on the 144hz monitor if both monitors are connected. Additionally sometimes if I choose "duplicate screen" mode, the 60hz monitor is not acting as supposed, occasionally simply not displaying anything at all and therefore I have to toggle through the modes for a couple of times until it works. Before I bought the new 144hz monitor, I had two 60hz of the same type, which was my ideal setup, everything worked fine. The Acer monitor is connected via displayport cable shipped with the monitor itselfe. The Samsung monitor is connected via this 10m dvi to hdmi cable I bought on amazon: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00QX1V43W/ I cant use a shorter cable because the samsung monitor is attached to an arm resting on a small desk infront of my bed a couple of meters away. I tested the samsung monitor with a brand new hdmi cable on my main desk to make sure it isnt the cable causing the problem. I tried activating gpu scaling on both monitors, suggested on some of my google research pages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any help is appreciated, do you guys have an idea?

Hey guys, I'm trying to put together a media pc capable of 4k h.265 video decoding. I would prefer getting a processor with an IGPU that can handle the load. I was looking into the I3-7100, but read contradicting opinions on this processor for native 4k support. The PC will be hooked up to a TV and used to stream Netflix, Youtube and use KODI and my budget is around 400$, but it can be stretched if necessary. I plan on using this PC for a long time with little to no upgrading. I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks guys!

ok so im using the netflix app in windows 10, yes rage at me but i like it. The issue im having is when in full screen and i "alt tab" to do other things on my second display netflix minimises FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY NETFLIX WHY!!!!!! I dont know if there is a regedit to sort this of even a setting ive missed Any help appreciated

So I have a laptop setup in my bedroom with a remote connected to my TV to stream media e.g. Netflix, Showmax and Youtube I use https://www.youtube.com/tv and I would like to do a similar thing with Netflix and Showmax is there any website for that or some way to download their smart TV counterparts

Netflix has officially begun streaming their version of the old 'Choose your adventure' books that you used to get as kids with what they are calling 'branching narrative' programming. First up on the programming schedule is a partnership with Dreamworks to create Puss in Books: Trapped in an Epic Tale and they have future content planned for down the road... https://www.engadget.com/2017/06/20/netflix-interactive-shows/ This could be looked at as a natural evolution of kids programming since kids shows tend to try and interact one-way right now, however, this should allow for some limited two way interaction. Honestly though, I don't see this working quite so well with a current adult audience and adult programming outside of video games although that might change in another five to ten years depending on how well this performs. So a question would be, does anyone on the forum think that they would like to see a branching narrative presented in their favorite TV Series? -
So 4k streaming on netflix on a computer currently requires kaby lake. My rig is not kaby lake, but is virtualized. Can it be fooled by telling the virtual environment it has kaby lake even though it doesn't? Would that allow 4k streaming or would it break the emulator because it's trying to expose non-existent cpu features?

I just got an acer swift 3 ultrabook and when i tried to watch netflix in the app the video keeps stuttering in full screen (not in windowed). This also happens in the edge browser on sites that work fine on my desktop. And also on edge, windowed doesn't stutter at all. Does anyone have a fix? everything works fine on chrome and edge dev, which i'll use, but the netflix app bothers me much since its the only way to download videos..
