Just wiped my machine for other reasons, so I have a clean install of win10. I installed MSI Afterburner again to set up my overclocks, however the last gpu will not let me change the power limit, positive or negative, the other three seem to be fine, though I did have issues with them initially... It lets me move the slider, but when I hit apply it jumps to zero. Any ideas? Synching doesn't help, its the 4th gpu, (GPU3) listed as "master" gpu under MSI info. The 4 gpu's are 2x 295X2 in quadfire.

Hey, just doing a mild OC with no voltage added and it's stable at 1453 MHz but I wanted to know if it is safe running at this core clock speed all the time or if it will degrade my GPU's life. I am thinking it really shouldn't since I didn't add any voltage HOWEVER I did increase the power target from 100% to 125% (max) I am not sure what the power target does as I was just following this overclocking guide. Thanks y'all OC Guide I was following: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/403328-how-to-overclock-a-video-card-nvidia-amd-video-card-gpu-overclocking-guide/#entry5438694 SPECS: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($513.00 @ IJK) CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GTX 104.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($182.00 @ Centre Com) Motherboard: Asus Z170-AR ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($245.00 @ IJK) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($139.00 @ IJK) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($129.00 @ Centre Com) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 980 4GB STRIX Video Card ($724.00 @ Centre Com) Case: NZXT H440 (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($159.00 @ PLE Computers) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($159.00 @ Centre Com) Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN881ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter ($19.00 @ CPL Online) Other: Windows 10 ($100.00) Total: $2369.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-12-30 13:54 AEDT+1100

Greetings. I recently installed an ENB and SweetFX preset for Dragon Age: Origins alongside several texture mods, and want to show my friend how the game looks. However, when I checked on the in-game screenshots, they didn't incorporate the overlaid SweetFX colour correction and SMAA (as expected). I resolved to try using MSI Afterburner's screen-capture utility instead, but ran into an issue. In the 'Screen capture' pane of Afterburner's settings, the Screen Capture hotkey is set to 'none' and I can't seem to be able to change it. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Aereldor.

Hey guys, Having a little trouble with the Core Voltage slider on Afterburner and was wondering if anyone had come across this before, I can't find a thread covering this particular issue! So I'm up to the point where my card is crashing from higher clockspeed adjustment, so naturally time to up the voltage. At base, Afterburner reads 1.199V CORE: 90MHz adjustment is stable and fine, 100MHz is not. However, if I move the slider for CoreV adjustment by +10mV, Afterburner doesn't budge and still shows 1.199V CORE: Trying again, adjusting the CoreV slider by another 10mV, Afterburner finally catches up and adds 19mV instead of 20mV to read 1.218V CORE: It continues this, and only changes the value of CoreV again at +40mV, although the readout shows an increase of 38mV to give the BIOs Maximum of 1.237V CORE, the issue is, I can't seem to adjust these values at all other than the two jumps (1.218 and 1.237) so I can't fine tune at all (admitting defeat and just wasting power by setting CoreV to 1.237 doesn't work as I find on occasion this causes a crash at even lower clockspeeds than the stock 1.199V) Any Ideas? Cheers!!

I have a Zotac AMP! Omega GTX 970 with a AMP! Extreme HSF and sometimes like today I cant OC the memory. When I move the slider and hit apply it resets back to +0. I have OC this GPU with no problems at all then out of the blue it does this. Its happened a few times. Don't know what I done to fix it before. Its not getting hot at all. I've restarted the computer I'm not moving it much but it don't matter how much I move it it still resets. The card works great but I get a +10 to 20 frame rate gain. I've tried MSI After Burner, ASUS GPU Tweak, FireStorm. I've tried them all. WTF is going on?

Hi, I have a reference GTX 970 and I am planning to overclock in MSI Afterburner but I have a few questions. 1) I understand that as you increase the core clock it requires more core voltage to keep it stable but there is no memory voltage slider. Does this mean that you just push the memory clock as far as it will go without artifacts or crashing? Or does it inherently become more stable as the core voltage is increased? Or is there actually a memory voltage slider which I can't find And what are the artifacts associated with an unstable memory clock. 2) I have posted this question before but the answers were rather...vague. I have a reference GTX 970 and am wondering what the difference voltage control modes are in my afterburner settings.I have the option between reference design, standard msi. and extended msi. Which should I use, and what's the difference between them? Cheers, Ben SPECS: i5 4690K GTX 970 Reference from OCUK Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1886Mhz Asus Maximus VII Hero Corsair AX760i WD Black 1TB

So I posted a very similar question before but the answers were well...sub.-sub par. So this time I'm going to include a picture so maybe I can get more than a one word answer I have a reference GTX 970 and am wondering what the difference voltage control modes are in my afterburner settings.I have the option between reference design, standard msi. and extended msi. Hi, what's the difference between core voltage/memory voltage and power limit. I thought increasing the core voltage/memory voltage changed the amount of voltage you are feeding the card but I also heard that increasing the power limit changes how much power the card can draw? What's the difference? Also, I have a reference GTX 970 and am wondering what the difference voltage control modes are in my afterburner settings.I have the option between reference design, standard msi. and extended msi. I have a Zotac AMP! Omega (Extreme HSF) GTX 970 and when i change the mem clock and click apply it resets to 0. I dont have any other OC programs at all im using MSI Afterburner. When i first got the card it OCed fine now i can get the mem to stick. Today i reinstalled MSI and thought i got the mem OC to stick after clicking apply it stayed but when i checked to see what the mem was running at its stock. No matter what under load and not. What could cause this? Ive tried several diif OC programs and nothing. Could a old OC program have a profile saved even after uninstalling it? if so how to i clear it? Cant believe that no one has had this problem and if they have couldnt find a fix for it WTF. I know im not the only one this has happened to.

I am suffering from a probably dying sleeve bearing fan. It emits this awful grinding indicating it is running out of lube. I turned it down because it could get irritating and give me a headache. Surely enough, my temps seem to have risen. In BF4, I saw Rivatuner report my core temps at over 74c at times, which is certainly abnormal. I set my dying front intake fan's rpm back to normal, and it is making whining and buzzsaw/white noise sounds, but my temps are still a tad high, at least from what I perceived/remembered. How demanding is 3Dmark Firestrike's Physics Test? I usually go into the early 70s on my CPU on it. Today, I saw up to 75c. Is this normal? Is Front Intake really that vital in a mid-tower? Cinebench was also wielding some frightening results. I observed a max core temp of probably 86c. Is this normal or in-range of what one would expect with a stock 4790k with an H80i GT? Idles could be better as well, but it is/was humid out (with some air conditioning), so does that make all of this somewhat redundant?

I got my 980 Ti yesterday and I cranked up my settings even more from where my 980 left off. Everything is on the highest it can go at 1080p with the exceptions of TXAA (off), MSAA (x4). On my 980 with 2x MSAA and none of the distance sliders enabled, I would dip into the low 20s, early 30s when traversing dense grass. Here, it feels much smoother, despite the higher settings. However, Steam overlay FPS counter and Rivatuner report my fps as in the 30s. It feels quite a bit higher. My benchmark performance varies (because it is not a static test), but I get at least a 60-65 fps average. What gives? What do I trust?

I am current running 2 GTX 980s in SLI. I was overclocking them using MSI Afterburner. I have no problem overclocking the GPU core, but for some reason, every time I enter a memory overclock and hit apply, the number reverts back to zero. EVGA Precision X says it is applying a memory overclock, but GPU-Z shows that nothing happened. Does anyone have a fix for this? I currently using Nvidia Driver 355.98.

Hey, so my R9 390 from msi is acting wierd. I hade an overclock of 1100 with powerlimit +50 and core voltage +55, that worked fine for about a week. But lately in small games like League of Legends, I started frame dropping to 56 fps, so I turned off overclock and monitored my GPU. While playing Bioshock Infinite, by GPU usage jumped up and down, and memory clcok also. Also, the core clock would not go to 1040mhz it would just hover around 800 mhz. Please help me, should I rma? I forgot to mention, after clcoing the game the gpu usage locks at 100 for a bit and memory clcok and core clcok are stable, I can post another screen cap of a longer gameplay session if needed.

I recently got myself a GTX 970 because it's a great card with cheap offerings and exclusive bundles from NVIDIA. However, when i use it for a simple games like Planetside 2, msi afterburner would tell me that I've used 3506 vram. I know the card only has 3.5gb of vram but on planetside 2 low settings. When i join a match, it automatically just crashes and when i look at msi afderbutner, it's a steady line on 3506gb of vram My Pc build CPU: I5 4690K GPU: ASUS GTX 970 STRIX RAM: HYPERX 8GB 1600mhz DDR3

Hey guys, I recently installed the skyn3t bios for my watercooled 780ti, and it has removed many limitations that hindered my overclocks, namely the voltage and power limit. The problem however is that msi afterburner wont properly set the volts, even though the bios will allow the card to go up to 1.212v (the stock bios was capped at 1.187v). It will allow me to have +75mv however it does nothing when verified with gpuz/ benchmarks (adding the volts in msi afterburner dosent aid with the stability of high overclocks) The strange part is that evga precision x allows the gpu to go to 1.212v just fine, however I don't particularity like the app as a whole (probably due to me using msi afterburner for around 3 years now), so i would really appreciate it if you guys could help me get my msi afterburner working properly...

I'm looking for a Program to control the speed of my fans in my computer, i currently am using MSI Afterburner for my GPU fan and it works well. But i want to know if there is a program that will boost Fan speed over 100% and/or be able to control the speed % while in-game with the customizable keys on my gaming mouse without minimizing the game becasue i have a overlay to monitor GPU temps while Gaming. along side the FPS overlay Also in Afterburner i can only select core temps to display (core 0, 1, 2 ,3 ect) and Speedfan (not a overlay) shows CPU temp 35c,single cpu core temps ( Core0, 1, 2, 3 ect) how do i get it to show in afterburner as a game overlay as actual CPU temp ( not singe core temps ) i have a Intel i7 4790 Thank you

I have an Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-791G laptop and i want to be able to adjust my core clock and memory clock of my GPU, but MSI afterburner can't read the GPU's core clock but can read the memory clock in hardware monitoring to the right on afterburner. The core and memory clock cant be adjusted and just have the value +0 on them which isn't what my desktop does as it shows the clock speed. When I try to adjust the values from +0 to any other value like +20 and I click apply it will just revert to +0. Why isn't my core clock being read? Why cant I over clock? (I know i shouldn't do it on a laptop but i'm not going to try to tress the GPU) Ive tried reverting Nvidia display drivers, different versions of afterburner, reinstalling it and EVGA over clocking application just crashed when opening. The picture below shows the values given by the GPU from after burner and GPU-Z when running furmark
