So I was watching the movie Rush yesterday on my 34" lg 21:9 panel and noticed how perfectly the movie fit the screen. There were no bars on the side or on top as 21:9 is the aspect ratio for almost all modern movies. This got me thinking, if a movie advertised as 1080p, but it has to fill a 21:9 surface area, wouldn't it have to be a different resolution? Let me know what u guys think/know cuz as much as a like movies I'm not a huge movie buff. thanks

Hello everyone! I have read through other topics about pairing these headphones with amps/dacs and have seen a lot of recommendations from entry level amp/dacs to higher ends. My question is will my TX-NR636 Onkyo receiver that I use with my desktop (Asus Maximus VI Hero Mobo) work with these headphones. The headphones will work connected to the receiver directly and the audio from the desktop is coming by optical. I can also plug these headphones directly into the motherboard and they work just fine as well. I don't mind buying a AMP/DAC if its best for powering my headphones, just not sure at that point what to go with. I appreciate any suggestions!

Source 1: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/11/further-expanding-beyond-consoles-activision-announces-a-film-division/ Source 2: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/11/06/call-of-duty-movie-skylanders-tv-show-headline-new-activision-film-studio I'm not really surprised that this is happening considering the size of Activision I just hope that they actually produce something good (like making a COD:WAW movie, maybe) I think that this is another indication that Activision is ready to get bigger by dominating console, PC, mobile and film industries

Anybody have these? Apparently they have great audio and no hiss sound issues with PC since they have optical connectivity option. This may be the best option for some gaming, music, movies at home PC. And I presume that this will be a much better option than Corsair Void wireless headset?

Please can you help me decide on my headphones. Thanks for your help: I will be using them for gaming which includes casual/competitive cs go(playing with mates) Playing Gta, tf2, far cry... Also be listening to YouTube a lot. With occasional films and music! My choices so far are between; m50x, hd 558 and pt 770. Feel free to leave options with that kinda price range in mind. That will not be leaving my PC so open back is no problem

Hi guys :D I am sick and I'm stuck in bed for the next couple of days. I'd watch some cool movies but I don't have any idea what. So far I've watched: Wolf From the Wall Street Shutter Island Beautiful mind Few seasons of House MD I could you name a few cool movies for me please? I am not very picky, I like psychological movies, thrillers and story heavy movies, not that much into pure action movies or horrors. Extra points for fairly new movies

Quick question. What do you think is the best dvd ripper software? My mother wants me to convert all of our dvd's into video files so that we can watch them on our phones / tablets easily. No pirating / torrenting involved here, only for personal use.

Hello guys, so I've already bought a new computer but my dad thought about upgrading the last one for him to connect to his TV, browse the internet and watch movies. Exclusively for movies, once a day, maybe in the evening to watch. So, the PC is really old, but it's missing 3 parts. First one is an HDD which is a really easy choice, afterwards the graphics card was a nvidia 9500gt which the fan died a long time ago and if you watch any videos or play a game the PC will shut down. Last, it's the power supply which is the main problem. The one that I currently have is so loud that you may think you live under an underground station or something, or that construction works have been going on. So yea, pretty loud. The power supply is also old and imagine that my 9500gt didn't have to be connected to any PS cable, yea. I have 4gb of DDR2 memory (i think) and I don't quite remember the Mobo I'm using. Also the CPU is a e7400 dual core. Can you guys find me a PS that will kinda ''fit'' that old computer, my dad said he doesn't mind about the noise but I'm sure he will. Please reccommend me a PSU and where can I get a 9500gt or something around that price-range. HDD is easy, thanks! (I'm UK btw and my budget is whatever but 100 pounds is ok in my book, I don't think we can go further for the parts I'm asking)

After using Marshall Monitor headphones I've decided to move to another more comfortable ones. The sound quality of MM's was good, pretty deep and punchy bass, ok mids and a bit forward highs (with FTF OFF) but I think I can find even better ones which would be more comfortable too. For me FTF system in these headphones was almost a total gimmick as the sound was almost the same either with FTF or without, maybe a little more treble with FTF off. But they are uncomfortable as hell! I mean literally after 30-40min or less I can feel the pain in my head and on my ears! They are advertisied as OVER-EAR but they ARE NOT EVER-EAR headphones, not at all! So I narroved my search down to : Beyerdynamic DT-770 80 Ohm Sony MDR-1R/1A HyperX Cloud/Cloud II Brainwavz HM5 I will be using my future headphones with Fiio E10K amp/dac. So what's your opinion based on some experience, which one to get? And will those headphones benefit in sound quality with Fiio E10K?

Hi there guys, So Ive been looking around for a while for a program and Im having a really hard time finding what I want. So I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 box and it has Deluge running 24/7. Basically what it does is checks some RSS Feeds every 30mins for new episodes from the series I've setup with rss. Every time there is something new, Deluge downloads it automatically and saves it in a "New" folder. That folder contains everything that was recently downloaded from movies to series. Than I have 2 other folders, "Series" and "Movies", where I organize everything manually, from getting subtitles and placing the files in the right folders. What I want/need is a piece of software that can automate that process. That program would need to check the "New" folder from time to time (like every 5mins) for new stuff, grab it, see what it is and place it on the right folders. For example: New File: Game.of.Thrones.S05E07.720p.HDTV.x264-IMMERSE[rarbg] The Software would get it and put it on the folder: \Series\Game of Thrones\Season 5\ And if possible get subtitles for it. Do you guys know of anything like that? Something that can work alone after being configured. I'm open to explain better, so any questions just sent them over Thank you, Ralms.

If you're looking for something to watch I'd recommend "Outbreak" because it's a no-laughing-matter movie about what could happen in another "Ebola 2" virus outbreak and how the US military would handle it. I find it scary because it could be a real possibility of a "worst case scenario" actually happening. Plus there's big guns and helicopter chases, can't go wrong there. A trailer:

One of the known torrent site, the Pirate Bay now lets you stream torrents from your browser with help of Torrents-Time plugin (not sure whether you need to install this, or this integrated into the Pirate Bay site) The plugin isn't just built for The Pirate Bay though — any torrenting site can add support. The option to stream torrents now appears right alongside the download button. Source: The Verge.

Hollywood sources tracked down the founder of YIFY and filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit in New Zealand. But surprisingly the case was never heard in court. Instead, both parties agreed to a private settlement outside of court, keeping the identity of one of YIFY’s key players out of the public eye. However, this didn’t last long when they realised his name. He seemed to have taken his first three and last initials of his name. He's called "Yiftach Swery". I am wearing a great suit with a red tie today and I was supposed to dress up as a character. Can you think of any badass characters that wear a grey suit and a red tie? Something besides Alucard and Agent 47

I'm in the market for a new Gaming/Multimedia Headset. I want to upgrade from my current headset (Astro A40). The two that I've narrowed down to are: 1. AKG 612 Pro 2. Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro-250 The games I mostly play are CSGO, and some casual games like Battelfront and Farcry. I also enjoy watching my movies with a headset on so that is important to me also. I've heard nothing but positive experiences from both headphones. The only thing that I get confused with is the audio jargon a lot of people use like Sound stage, Analytical, warm, and laid back. The Beyerdynamics are $40 more on amazon right now so is it worth the extra cash for it? Let me know what you guys think and thanks for all the advice.

Good Afternoon Folks! Snicker here with a question I come with a question, could anyone help me with this? I have a TON of movies that are DVD's taking up a good amount of space, I was hoping to Rip the DVD's to my HDD so I could keep them on my raid 1 2TB array, and save shelf space in the process. I tried using VLC player to just save the File from the DVD directly to the HDD, that isn't working as easily as i hoped. Does anyone have and suggestions as to what I could try \or\ do to Take the DVD's off their dvd and to save them to my HDD? As Always Thanks for reading and I'll Reply to all comments! And Merry X-mas to all!

Hi guys, I'm curently using a powerfull laptop but I'm not satisfied with my display. I was going to buy a good big display but since I tried working with two monitors i cant go back. I do some light/medium gaming, watch a couple movies/netflix and use youtube a lot. Since I live in Brazil and there is not much options to chose from (unless you pay a lot), I found a sansung 27" curved 1080p 60Hz (S27D590C) for a somewhat reasonable price. I think I can aford two of them and maybe in a loong future the third one. My questions are: -Can a i7-4720q GTX 970M run this monitor setup?(laptop has 2 mini Display and 1 HDMI ports) -Is this a good monitor or should I go for another option?(I can wait a couple months and buy it in the US) -Will a PC or gaming monitor compromise when watching TV or movies? Thank you verry much guys, happy hollidays!

Hey Everyone, I recently purchased the Acer X34 Predator. It's a beast. It's beautiful. It's blinding. It's beautiful. Love it. My only issue is, because I am new to the 21:9 aspect ratio and watching movies on my PC in general, I'm having trouble finding content to take advantage of my new display. Netflix has widescreen support app that works okay, it loses a lot of resolution while streaming movies, but that makes sense as it's a streaming service. What I want to know is where can I start to build up a movie library (legally of course) that will allow me to playback movies that support this new giant 3440x1440 monitor? Do I get blu rays? Do I invest in a playback software? I have a baller monitor now how the hell do I use it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Let's start with a quote from the article: "Neil Hunt, Netflix's chief product officer, has told Gizmodo that the service won't offer offline playback of content because it will create a "paradox of choice" that will leave some users "paralysed" and unable to use Netflix" I understand the fear of too many options and possible confusion, but this is just PR hot air. This basically tells me Netflix believes their users are idiots. If you don't want to confuse less tech savvy customers, bury the feature a little so only people that know it's there can find it. This is clearly a dumb response to Amazon introducing this feature instead of them. They have also stated they never intend on introducing this feature. That's fine but don't treat your customers like idiots. Source http://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-offline-downloads-neil-hunt-2015-9
