Hey guys, So my motherboard just broke and I was wondering at this point if it's worth upgrading to let's say a ryzen 3600 or a 9th generation i5(or suggestions)? Or should I just keep my i5 8400 and buy a new z370 /390 board to replace the broken one. I have the money that's not an issue, just don't want to spend it if I won't see a considerable difference. Fyi, I just bought a Rx 5700 gpu and I'm waiting on Amazon for my 1440p 144hertz monitor so I will be soon gaming at 1440p . I also run a small home recording studio so I use recording programs and plugins that are cpu intensive. The 8400 isint that bad for the recording stuff, I'm just maybe thinking the upgrade could be more "future proof"? I usually tend to upgrade my components after 2 generation's appart but since my mb broke and theres all this hype about ryzen... Thanks in advance for your advise

I7-8700 B360M Mobo voltage problems ?
Yadhav Gokool posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
HI guys hope everyone's well during these trying times. I recently upgraded my i3-9100F to an i7-8700 and my CPU cooler from the stock cooler to a CM hyper H410r and I had some concerns. Asus Tuf b360m-plus gaming mono I7-8700 GTX 1070 16GB corsair vengeance LPX ddr4 2666MHz Psu : antec VP700-700W 80+ white So basically what's happening here is my CPU is power limit throttling but the voltages are absolutely all over the place if I enable XMP and my ram clocks up to 2666Mhz it changed the voltage from default in the bios and Intel XTU to 1.3 volts on the CPU core and if I run the benchmark it hits up into the 80s in a few mins. This concers me as I've seen someone on YouTube use the exact same cooler and their CPU hit max like 78W of power while mine is sucking down 120W and his was keeping the boost clock of 4.3GHz on all cores he peaked at 72C average of 62C without power limit throttling. If I have XMP disabled my CPU power limit throttles and keeps it at 65W but clocks drop to 3.7GHz. I'm begging for someome who's experienced to help me find a way on a B360 mobo to somehow be able to attain that tdp of 70ish W with 1.something V of power and keep the boost of 4.3GHz When I run the test I've seen it draw way over 75W and use 1.32V on the CPU and my temps would skyrocket to 80+ My case has 2 intake and 3 exhaust fans decent airflow and ambient is about 25-27C Any help.would be greatly appreciated. I'm just concerned as those temps do seem high. -
I just upgraded to a 3950X and I am using a molex adapter to 4-pin because my PSU only have regular 8-pin. Is it ok to keep using it like that ? Or should I really just get a new PSU to avoid any kind of problems. Thank you !!

Ok so starting off I wanna say this is my first ever build. Build wise it turned out very good until my recent problem. After everything was in place, I first turn on the pc, and all fans are on, and running, GPU and CPU fans aswell. Even the keyboard is on, but when I look at the monitor, I see that there is no post, and the dram ez debug led is on. specs: the mobo (as the title says) it’s a msi b450m pro-m2 -ram 2666mhz ripjaws ddr4 -cpu it’s a ryzen 5 1600 -gpu msi Radeon rx480 4gb -psu it’s a 500w -128gb ssd -500gb hard drive things that I have tried: I have tried changing the ram sticks, to each other slot, trying each one, and nothing happens. So right now I’m currently thinking on changing ram sticks, to a ddr4 3200mhz, bc on my previous post, someone told me that my motherboard doesn’t support those ram sticks speed, (if someone can correct me if I’m wrong would be awesome, bc I tried finding it in the Manual and specs of the pc and I couldn’t find it.) so I ordered ram sticks that are ddr4 3200mhz that come in Sunday and hopefully that fix it all. If in any cases that doesn’t happen, can anyone tell me what other motherboard I could buy? That supports all of those specs, thank you so much, for your time, and hoping that you can help me

Does anyone know if the Asus Prime x299 deluxe motherboards have issues where they either stop booting, or will boot but then freeze or restart your computer after a certain amount of time? I've seen some stuff online about the quality of the boards, but looking for anything more specific. Thanks

I cant tell if i got a hardware or software problem. my motherboard and the led ports wont display green in color cycle. When in static it doesn't have an issue displaying any color, however win color cycle it skips green and darkens altogether. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest download of the software, turn off and on the computer, unplug the power cord, update my driver and bios, and still nothing. At this point I'm frustrated and stumped.

So I am trying to upgrade my PC's RAM. It came with a single 8gig stick which is an ADATA XPG model number AX4U266638G19-BRZ1. I can't seem to find any info on that particular stick so I don't want to put the wrong one in. My motherboard says it is a Cyberpower PC B360M XTREME, CPUZ says it is manufactured by ASrock but i can't find any info on that from ASrock either, it is like they don't make it or something. If anyone has any info or has dealt with this in the past I would really appreciate any advice/tips. I just want to make sure any new RAM i get is compatible and I wont run into any issues.

Hello, I have a problem with my PC. Sometimes on turning on the pc via the power button results in a black screen and hdmi not detected message (i have tried using a different monitor or cable this is not the issue, the monitor and cable work perfectly with my laptop). If i restart again sometimes the system will post and it will work fine. On other occasions there will be green artifacts on the screen, sometimes concentrated in two vertical lines, and sometimes spread evenly all over the screen. In 90% of the cases once the system is turned on it will work without problems even in gaming/stress applications. Sometimes the screen will randomly freeze and show a black screen with hdmi not working. I have sent my graphics card to the local repair shop and the store cleric there after a few days said the graphics card is working fine and that the problem is likely in my motherboard. I have changed my motherboard with a brand new one but the problem persists. So to summarize, the problem seems to disappear if i restart the pc via the power button and is usually only present when turning on my pc for the first time in the morning, once it is turned on, the problem almost never appears. Also if the system booted up correctly the first time, turning it off, waiting and turning it back on again will in result in power on without any problems. Secondly re-seating the graphics card seems to solve the problem temporarily, this is why I thought the problem was with the motherboard PCI-E connection.

Hi, I've made some updates to my build and am looking to upgrade my current fan setup. My current case has the basic rear fan it comes with (Corsair 100R) and a Corsair SP120 fan I've got on top as an exhaust. I'm trying to add a 3rd fan as a front intake, but the board only has two chassis fan headers. From what I've seen/read, I can simply get a splitter and connect two fans to one header (my current fans are the Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition fans), but it mentions checking out the power usage etc. As far as I can see, the fans use 0.08A (according to this link: https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Fans/AIR-SERIES-LED-CONFIG/p/CO-9050007-WW) but I honestly can't figure out if the motherboard will be able to handle a 3rd fan (along with my Hyper Evo TX3 heatsink). Generally most info I've found points to the mobo having 1.00A worth of headroom, and so I shouldn't have any issue, but I just can't tell for certain before I hook everything up. Does anyone have any experience with this particular motherboard? I've gone through the manual but just can't figure this part out. Its hardly a strong point for me so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I think I know the answer to this but just wanted to make sure before spending the money. My current motherboard is a Gigabyte Aorus gaming 7 (z370) and my current cpu is a i7 8700k. I am looking to upgrade my mobo because there are some features that my current one does not have and I don’t want to try to struggle with rgb fusion anymore. Anyways, the board I was thinking about was the Asus Maximus XI code which is z390. I just wanted to check if it is compatible with my current cpu and if it would still work when I upgrade my cpu. Sometime in the future I would like to upgrade to a 9900k. Thank you for the help.

Hey guys, I'm having problems with my desktop PC and I hope someone here could help me. I have an old PC running a Pentium Dual Core E2160 (1.8Ghz) on a Gigabyte GA-P41T-D3P motherboard and I'm using an Enlight 420W PSU. I'm not sure all of this is relevant to the problem that I'm having, but I'm just stating it here as an FYI. So anyway, to further elaborate the problem I'm having, Here's how I usually would use the PC: Connect the power cord to the PSU Switch on the PSU Press the power button on the case Use the PC like normal After I'm done, I would shut it down and the PC shuts down and turns off like normal as well. It's when I want to use the computer again afterwards that becomes a problem. If I just press the power button to to turn on the computer, the computer would do this: It would power up for about 2 seconds Turns off by itself for 1 second Turns on again for another 2 seconds Turns off again Here's a video of this strange power cycle loop: This would go on infinitely and I would have to switch off the PSU to stop it. After I switch off the PSU and wait for about 2 seconds the computer would turn on (CPU, PSU, and case fans spinning) for just about a quarter of a second, then I would switch the PSU back on. Only after that I could press the power button on the case and the system would power up like normal and I would be able to use the computer. But if I had to use the computer again after shutting down, I would have to do the power-cycle-the-PSU thing before I can switch on the computer. If I power cycled too quick (before the quarter-second flicker) and tried pressing the case power button to turn on the PC, that strange infinite power cycle would happen again and I would have to power cycle the PSU and wait properly. Any ideas why it's behaving like that? I tried using another PSU and disconnect all peripherals (keyboard, mouse, all USB peripherals, all HDD, SSD, and CD drives), but the problem still occurs, it seems like a motherboard issue. I heard that power issues usually is caused by a bad capacitor, is this one of those cases? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks! EDIT: I should clarify that other than this issue, the PC works just fine. This problem bothers me just a little bit because everytime I want to use the PC, I'd have to reach to the back of the case to power cycle the PSU.

Hello, I`m choosing motherboard for new build on 1151 (3 series) and maybe to can help, there are some options on my local used market , Asus TUF H370-PRO - 78 USD MSI Z 390A-PRO - 81 USD GIGABYTE Z390 UD - 84 USD MSI Z370 Gaming Plus - 90 USD (there is also Asus B360M-A for 69 usd but i think it's too cheap) At first I`m going for i3 9100f (upgrading from i5 4570) in future planing to go for maybe 9400f (almost never for i9 or one K models to overclock), it will be for light gaming (gtx 1050) and just regular home PC, Case is that USD to my currency is 1 to 3.21 and if there will be no real profit from Z series its better to save that couple of bucks for maybe SSD or so, Thanks

I’m looking for a motherboard that can support a ryzen 5 1600. 3200mhz of hyperz ddr4 ramsticks. A 500gb hard drive, and a m.2 ssd. With a 500 psu. And a msi Radeon rx480 4gb. I don’t care about overclocking, or anything like that. I just want a good motherboard that can support all of those features.
