Hi All, So I have this issue that goes back quite a ways. Lets start by listing my gaming setup: Motherboard: MSI Guard Pro SATA CPU: Intel Core i5 4690 RAM: 16GB HyperX DDR3 Ram PSU: EVGA 850 Watt GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 And then some drives and fans etc. etc. My Monitor was an Asus PG279Q 1440p, 144Hz monitor which ran flawlessly for about two and a half years. Then it started displaying a black line down the right side of the panel (see attached photo). It went back to Asus for an RMA and the retailer gave me a full store credit. Then I purchased an AOC 27G2G4, 1080p, 144hz Monitor. At the same time I upgraded my Motherboard, CPU and RAM as follows: Motherboard: Aorus B450 Elite CPU: Ryzen 3700X RAM: 16GB Adata 3200mhz DDR4 ram Everything else including GPU remained the same as above. After about 6 months with he monitor the same issue came back - vertical black lines! So I sent it back for an RMA and it was replaced with a brand new one. And now the same thing is happening after 3 months on the new one! This is now the third monitor that I have with this same issue! All this time I have assumed that the monitors were bad but I have to start asking if I am the problem ? Could my GPU be the problem ? Is there some settings I need to tweak? BTW: I have tried all the usual fixes; updating drivers, changing display port cables, trying HDMI cables, connecting the monitors to other computers, turning off my overclocks, reducing the refresh rate, fiddling with the resolution, turning off G-Sync and the problem always appears to be 100% with the monitor. Nothing has solved this issue. Any and all help/suggestions are welcome before I contact he retailer for yet another RMA. Thanks!!

I recently decided to take the plunge on going dark mode. I'm liking it & I actually think it will suit my background just fine, but I'm wondering if the color settings my monitor uses are a bit imbalanced for the average user or not? My monitor happens to be the MSI Optix MPG27CQ. This is the info link in case anyone's interested: Monitor - Curved Gaming Monitor - MPG27CQ | MSI Global I know the topic might seem a bit controversial, but to be clear- I'm just wanting overall image/color-accuracy without having to use a calibration tool of some sort. Not doing any specific type of work or anything; I'm just an average user. A screenshot of my current OSD settings will be included to show what the levels are like right out of the box or after resetting your OSD. If any of you happen to need more details or have questions, just ask away & I'll answer as best as I can! Thanks in advance to anyone who can be helpful! :)

I'm planning on getting a new desk for my room in a new apartment. I'm on a tight budget so I'm thinking on getting this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ameriwood-Home-Dominic-L-Desk-with-Bookshelves-Black-Oak/24216644 It's made out of all particle board, from my understanding. And I've heard they are usually 1/2in thick. My main appeal is that it's at $100, it has shelves, and it has a closed back with enough overhang in the back from the tabletop to clamp monitors to. Which I'm planning to do with a single dual monitor arm on the left side. My main concern is it's ability to hold it up over time and the fact that the middle section is held together by a screw plate with part of perimeter held up by the board legs. I just figure that from the videos I've seen and the pictures that the over hang and the closed off board pieces under it on the left side would provide enough support if I clamped them all the way to the left to prevent potential sag. Would this work? / Does anyone have experience with a particle board structure similar to this?

Hi, I have a few posts asking for advice on displays for PS5 which have all been very helpful. I have made some space for a TV as I think it will end up being the more cost effective option for me because monitors don't have the same quality of HDR that a TV could provide. I went into a local store and seen a TV which I liked the look of however after researching it seems that HDMI 2.1 may not allow 4K@120Hz while using Dolby Vision. I am aware that a PS5 will not be able to hit 4K 120fps however I want a good looking TV that'll do me for a long time and would be as future proof as possible. Any advice on if what I read online about HDMI 2.1 is true or any suggestions in general on which TV to buy or what I should be looking to get in a good TV. I would like to keep the price under £1000 and size around 55 inches but could maybe go 65 inches (however i think 65 inches might be too much for my room) This is the TV that I liked in the store: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/televisions/televisions/sony-bravia-kd55xh9296bu-55-smart-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-led-tv-with-google-assistant-10208446-pdt.html Thanks in advance

I need to choose between two monitors... specifically: 2x Acer ED320QRP 32" 165Hz Gaming Monitors https://www.evetech.co.za/acer-ed320qrp-165hz-gaming-monitor/best-deal/8377.aspx 2x LG 27GL650F-B 27" FHD Gaming Monitohs https://www.evetech.co.za/lg-27gl650f-b-144hz-gaming-monitor/best-deal/7615.aspx Both cost exactly the same amount. The differences that I am worried about are as follows: The acer is 32" whereas the LG is 27" The acer is curved whereas the LG is flat The Acer does not support HDR whereas the LG does The Acer does not have an IPS panel whereas the LG does The Acer is 166Hz whereas the LG is 144Hz The Acer supports Freesync whereas LG supports G-sync (I have an Nvidia GPU) The Acer has 5ms response time whereas LG has 1ms I am very much conflicted over which to buy, and I need to make a choice between these two. Any and all help is very much aplreciated

I'm planning on building my first system after being a long-time gaming laptop user. I currently have a 1080p 144hz monitor (ASUS VP249QGR) with my laptop as my secondary screen. The specs I plan on getting are the ff: Ryzen 7 3700x/5000 series RTX 3070 16GB ddr4 ripjaws Strix B550 I plan to use the Asus as my secondary monitor, but I'm torn between getting a 1080p 175hz-240hz or a 1440p 144hz for my primary display. I intend to use it for gaming/streaming, as well as some graphic design/video editing (nothing too serious, just for college and hobbies). I'm worried that a 3070 might struggle with 1440p 144hz in some games, but I'd like to hear some advice on which is the better choice

I need some recommendations for a monitor. I've been looking for a while but it's very hard to choose out of the hundreds of options. My budget is around 300-400 dollars. I need a 1440p 144hz VA or IPS panel with 5ms or lower response time. Any and all suggestions are helpful.

Hello, im looking to buy a monitor, and im not really sure what one it is. I found 3 that i thought fit what I want, and wanted to check which is the best option. I recently purchased a System76 laptop for home use. It has Pop_OS installed. I have 2 external monitors, connected via a KVM switch. When I first tried to connect the monitors, the OS only saw the laptop display. After rebooting a few times, it finally saw the external monitors. It was working fine until yesterday, when I attempted to run a Windows based application through Wine. As soon as I ran the Wine command, both of my external displays went blank. The Displays tab in Settings did not show either of the external monitors. I rebooted the laptop, and it now sees both of the external displays, but only in mirrored mode, not in extended mode. Effectively, I have the laptop screen showing one or two applications, and I see different "mirrored" images on the 2nd and 3rd monitors. The Displays tab now only shows display 1, and display 2. Displays 2 & 3, the external displays, are mirrored, showing the exact same windows. How can I reset the displays, or cause the displays tab to scan or see both of the external monitors, as separate devices? Thanks in advance, and have a great weekend.

I ordered my EVE Spectrum QHD 144Hz back in March 2021 and still haven't received it, nor have I received any new delivery timelines since early this year, where it was supposed to be delivered back in April 2022. Order cancellations are starting to build up, with refund requests taking upwards of 90 days for many folks, and tons of games being played by support staff mishandling the refund process. Their community managers aren't able to provide any timelines for producing and delivering orders, despite the tech shortages easing up significantly this year, evidenced by a surge in availability of many different products that were previously scarce. I really wanted this company to succeed, and it appears their monitors are being well received (1, 2), but their management and production/delivery is a hot mess right now. Rtings.com discovered that EVE / DOUGH employees were creating new accounts to manipulate vote counts in their product suggestion poll so it would get reviewed sooner, and are considering a total ban of the brand on their site if more abuse is discovered. Last, starting at $650-799 (without a stand), their pricing is outrageous compared to what the competition has to offer today. In 2020 / 2021 when they opened orders up, they had the advantage with USB-C display + 100W charging, a built-in KVM, etc.; but now, displays like the Gigabyte M27Q / M32Q offer comparable specs like USB-C w/ charging (albeit lower wattage), KVM, and high refresh rates, plus they don't charge extra for a basic stand. I realize the Spectrum line-up does offer several superior features, but at quite a premium. It all depends on what you're looking for, and in 2022, they're even less differentiated as competitors catch up. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm so disappointed.

Recently I went from a single 4k (60hz) monitor to adding a 1440p (75hz) and after that a 1440p (144hz) (both hdr) all hooked up to an RTX 3070ti (also have an i7 11700K. This hasn't been the smoothest experience however. I have had issues where on startup my screen flickers and then works like normal. Some games caused my 75hz monitor to flicker at random intervals of around 5 minutes. I thought I had fixed this issue by fully removing and reinstalling my graphics drivers but some issues still retained. When I plugged in my 144hz monitor for some reason my desktop icons got shuffled around too and while this is my last concern it does add up and bother me. Recently I got an issue with games changing my monitor settings and this feels like the final straw to ask for help. When starting minecraft for example the game just sets my monitor to 60hz from 144hz and also changes the color profile from rgb to YCbCr422 and from there I cannot change it back to the normal settings. The only options I have after that are 60 and 120 hz and the color profile resets itself when I set it to rgb. It's also worth mentioning that the screen flickering comes back when a change in refresh rate is made I should also mention that when hooking up my first 1440p monitor I accidentally put in my motherboard's hdmi connection because I wasn't thinking about it. This caused issues where my integrated gpu seemed to get in the way of my dedicated gpu when starting certain games, this issue seems to be fixed by simply not using it and rebooting my pc. I know multiple monitors can also cause issues but it's still worth a try to ask because I feel like none of this should happen if I could only manage to fix these issues. Sorry for the poorly written out summary of issues that I'm having/experienced but is there some fix I can make to make my monitors more "stable" or am I simply forced to unplug my 60hz monitor. I have tried reinstalling drivers like mentioned before but it barely seemed to help. Thanks in advance.

I have a laptop and I want to use ONE 144Hz monitor and ONE cheap capture card(no passthrough just HDMI in and USB out) with a single HDMI port. YES, I want them to be cloned but I want to keep my monitor at 144Hz and not capped at 60Hz What I tried : I bought a cheap $3 HDMI duplicator which was able to copy the 1080P60 signal to both the capture card and monitor, but as soon as I switched to 144Hz, only the monitor keeps displaying and the capture card starts blacking out (almost whole time, maybe too much of a signal for cc to handle) I want to know if there is something which sends 1080p 144Hz to my monitor and 60Hz signal to my CC(so that it can pass it to the USB).

Hello, I've been having an issue with my computer over the last couple months. It's been so few and far between that I haven't been bothered to look for a fix until now. For some reason when I try to boot certain games on my pc, the monitors will go off like I've turned off the computer, but I can still hear sounds from my headset whether it is game audio or people in a discord call even though they can't hear me back after it shuts off. Turning both monitors off and back on doesn't do anything. The only way to fix it is restarting my pc fully, which only lets me use it like normal until I try to relaunch certain games again. I've made sure all my updates are caught up (windows, AMD Radeon, the games themselves, etc.) as well as checking to verify that the game files aren't corrupted. The weird thing is that it only does it to certain games. About a month ago, it was doing this with MultiVersus, but after they released a patch on the first day, it stopped and worked fine since. As of recent it has been doing this with Gundam Evolutions. I can launch the game no problem but once it starts the tutorial, the shutoff happens. I tried all manner of games- League of legends, Cyberpunk, Elden Ring- all no problems with anything related to those, whether running in full-screen, windowed, or borderless. This leaves me to think it's something with certain games themselves. Any potential help would be greatly appreciated. Also I feel it might be unnecessary but for anyone needing specs to aid: CPU: AMD Radeon 7 2700x GPU: AMD Radeon Rx480 8gb from MSI Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro (4x4GB) PSU: EVGA 500W Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II Storage: 1TB HD & 4TB HD

I recently bought an LG Ultragear 32GN650B' monitor, but for some reason I keep getting this prompt: "An Incorrect DisplayPort Version Setting Will Cause The Screen To Be Blank". I reinstalled the gpu amd vision driver, also the one from the device manager, changed the cable, the DP version from the monitor settings and unplugged the monitor for one hour and plugged back in, moved the cable from a DP slot to the remaining two ones. Also the HDMI and DisplayPort slots from the GPU are not shown on the AMD Vision driver. I have an AMD Vega 64 Liquid Cooled GPU Intel I7 11700F AsRock B560 Steel Legend Motherboard Gskill 16 GB 3000Mhz CL 16 RAM Does any one have this issue and any info how to fix it? It is annoying and i am out of info how to get rid of it. @LinusTechmaybe on the future you will make a video how to get rid of this error. Seems that it only happens on LG Ultragear monitors when removing the cable from monitor and gpu and putting back in.

Weird pinkish/blueish colors when I turn on HDR in Windows 11
Giuliano_14 posted a topic in Displays
I bought a new monitor, an LG 32GN600B. When I activate HDR in Windows 11 it turns the whole screen a blue-ish or maybe pink-ish color. The OSD locks out every setting except brightness and sharpness so I can't do anything there. I know my monitor does not support "true HDR", only displaying up to SRGB but I'd still like to have the added brightness and contrast even if it's a small difference. I don't understand why it looks so strange with HDR on. Does it have to do with maybe the monitor is receiving a wide color gamut signal and the monitor can't display most of it? Can I have "SRGB HDR"? -
I recently bought a MAG274QRF-QD (when it was 389,99, now it’s 407,95) for my gaming pc and it came with a black spot almost in the middle of the screen and two dead pixels. I sent it back and requested a refund and now I am planning to either buy another one and leave it to fate in order to receive a good one or buy one of these alternatives: I also considered the Dell SD2721DGF, but ruled it out because of no sRGB while being a wide gamut monitor (that in turn causes over-saturation which I don’t like). I’ve been doing some research and it seems that the LG has the worst contrast ratio out of all the three and the XG27AQ seems to suffer from a high 30ms input lag while gaming on 60hz. According to Rtings it has been fixed by updating the Hardware abstraction layer through Armory Crate (not a fan of), and I don’t even know if that fix even applies to console gaming which I do some from time to time since I have a ps5 and not all games have 120hz support. And finally the MAG274QRF-QD which suffers from qc issues (there are a lot of comments about it either on Amazon or through Reddit, it’s not just me that was unlucky). The choice can seem easy due to close prices but the thing is I am buying the monitor from amazon and importing it to my country which has absurdly high import taxes (in the end costing me almost double the price of the monitor), a price difference of 20 - 30 is more like a 50-60 dollar price difference and with the amount I’m already paying extra it’s starting to look like a small but impactful difference between the three. I didn’t know buying a monitor could be such a chore, especially since every single monitor has a defect, either from a con in the specs or a defect. Not only the msi came to me with dead pixels but the 144hz 1080p viewsonic monitor I had before it too came with dead pixels, which I had to change three times and I still ended up with a unit with 1 dead pixel What are your thoughts and recommendations? P.D: My pc has an i7 9700k and 3060 ti and that’s why I’m looking at these 1440p panels. I can’t find any 1440p high refresh rate monitors in my country since the market is very small and prices are so high nobody wants to sell them. They only sell 1080p screens.

I'd just bought the Rtx 3070ti upgraded from the gtx 1060 3gb and now I cant change the refresh rate on either of my 144hz monitors, thought I might have an outdated HDMI cable so I bought a new one as well as a Display port cable but nothing seems to change. My drivers for the card are up to date and I'm at a total loss someone please help me find a fix.

For background, my wife is getting into video editing on her 2017 MacBook Pro, and I'm shopping for a monitor for her. I was leaning towards a 27" 4K Asus ProArt monitor, but then came across the video below. Seems like this guy bought the same one, but then ran into issues with the performance hit from MacOS scaling. I'm mostly a Windows guy, so I'm not up on what I should watch out for in the Mac world. My questions for the hive mind: Is this guy correct? Is this something, I should worry about? If he is correct, should I only consider either 5K or 1440P at 27"? Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think.

I had a question. Probably about monitors especially this kind of problems, what was it? Is it the polarizer that needs to replaced or the lcd itself kind of unrepairable? Thank you for the advanced responses, i hope i can find a variable solution for this or knowing exact the problem was.

Hi Team, I am working in a company as a Software Developer. Recently I started WFH and purchased an LG 27UP850-W monitor and want to use this as my productivity setup. The monitor contains, an USB-C, 2 USB, 2 HDMI and 1 Display port. I am using my companies laptop. My question is, I have connected Keyboard and Mouse to the available USB ports of the LG display. Now my comp. laptop has a thunderbolt port available. 1. Can I connect my laptop thunderbolt port to the USB-C of LG Display? 2. If I can connect, can I output display along with using keyboard and mouse which is connected to LG display? 3. Will my laptop be able to get charged at the same time? Please help me with this. Thanks, Harsh.

I purchased a 12.3" monitor to use as a secondary display for my Steam Deck. It is sold in multiple places under a few different brand names all claiming that its native resolution is 1920x720. I have also seen that this panel is used in BMW vehicles as the infotainment/dashboard display and the documentation for that use case also shows a 1920x720 native resolution. The problem is that I cannot get Windows, or Steam OS to run the display at that resolution. I'm guessing that Steam OS will be more of a challenge, (I could be wrong...). My research thus far has at best determined that the display controller PCB included in the monitor is somehow preventing the native resolution from being "offered" as an option to the OS of the computers I have connected it to. I have tried CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) and that hasn't worked, but I haven't gone so far as editing an INF file manually as that's a bit intimidating for now. The only resolutions that work are basically 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios such as 1080p or 800x600 but, at 1920x720, this display is much closer to a 21:9 aspect ratio which is one of the main reasons I selected it. I have only tried HDMI if that matters. Can anyone help me get this thing to act right? This is a stock photo of the display/monitor: Links to the product pages on AliExpress (where I bought mine) and Amazon: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256803925900560.html https://www.amazon.com/VSDISPLAY-1920x720-VS123ZJ01A-12-3inch-Stretched/dp/B09STFLN9Z The Amazon seller being EXTREMELY helpful when I tried to ask them about it : And just for context, here's my admittedly ridiculous Steam Deck setup including the monitor in question:
