I'm looking to find a see through front panel of some sort for my old WD 80GB hard drive. I don't really have the time to make one, so does anybody know where I can find one and install in a matter of minutes?

Hello everyone, its my first time back on these forums in a while, so go easy on me! I am thinking about a new build, hopefully something like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/rowanhazard/saved/#view=RxnNGX . I was hopefully going to make ITX and use the Phanteks enthoo evolve case (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854016&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Cases+(Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form)-_-N82E16811854016&gclid=CjwKEAiA_p_FBRCRi_mW5Myl4S0SJAAkezZr82mtvBKY8nSSJxyGHHZyH_ksUi3PWLmgQ5JgooW_qRoCLIrw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) that didn't have a window (this is going to be a hackintosh). I then thought about how cool it would look to have little acrylic lines going down the case illuminated by RGB LEDs, but how hard would it be to do that? Ex: So basically what Im asking is how hard would it be to cut lines (and insert acrylic) into a evolv ITX case? Thanks in advance.

So today I revieved the Cablemod sleeved cables that I ordered last week. Now I took a closer look at them, and I want to check that this is how the cables are supposed to look, and not a defect. In the first picture there are some cords missing in the connector, this is a molex cable. The second is a PCI-E cable and has to cords in the same place on the connector, but on spot in the connector is empty. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello Folks! I was suggested to post here by a coworker, so let's start my time here on LTT Forums with a case mod! The build log for this project was first posted on Overclock.net, so if you all are interested in reading through the project, here is a link the build log. DISCLAIMER: The text for this post originally is copy/pasted from PCPartPicker. Ever had that one piece of hardware that was "love at first sight"? And then the more that you looked at it, and the more you got to know it, it was just riddled with flaws, but you still had to have it anyway? That is what happened to me with the Lian Li PC-TU 100. I discovered this case a few years back in a youtube video from the late TekSyndicate. I knew at that moment that I had to have it. This lead me to becoming a regular visitor and co-maintainer of the OCN PC-TUX00 Owner's Club, long before I even owned this case. Through many conversations that were had between other owners, I learned about the inherent flaws of this case: Little to No GPU Ventilation 60mm CPU Heatsink Restriction No Inherent Exhaust Fans With this in mind, I began looking into several Club members' build logs for inspiration - This one included. I finally managed to get my hands on this case last September, and once I was able to give it a thorough examination, I began planning for this build. Throughout my planning, and regular ebay searching, I stumbled into Athena Power AP-MFATX40 400W Flex-ATX PSU, on ebay for $40. This PSU is what really brought the entire build together. (Note: This is not the PSU I ended up using.) My goal for this build was to modify the Heck out of this case, to make it as functional and beautiful as most modern cases, while maintaining as much of the stock Lian-Li aesthetic. The total complete list of mods include the following: Flex-ATX PSU Mounted to Roof of Case PSU Cables Shortened and Sleeved AC PSU Pass-through Cable Added to Case Full Tower Heatsink Installed Exhaust Fans Added to Rear of Case GPU Intake Fans Added to Bottom of Case Replaced Case Feet with Taller Milled-Aluminum Feet Side Panel Window Added Front Intake Grill and Power Button Replaced Removed the Ugly "Pro Gaming" Sticker from the Motherboard RGB Lighting Added to Case As you can see, the build was a success! This is my first ever case mod, so I learned a lot in regards to machining and other case modding skills. I have been working on this project after work, every day, since December 25th, where I finally finished on January 21st. A lot of time, sweat and blood has been poured into this build, and I hope it shows. If you all have any questions about the build, please let me know and I will do my best to answer them!

Is there a way to mount a stock LGA 1136 heatsink to a LGA 775 board? I have a spare LGA 1366 heatsink lying around that i want to use it in my HTPC as it is on the whole time. Thank you.

Greetings, I have an Optiplex 990 MT, and I'm planning to put a 1060 in it as an upgrade. Does anyone know how to remove the hard drive cage so I can: a) possibly fit a longer graphics card b) make space for an extra fan to keep everything cool Thanks! Note: I'm talking about the entire cage, not just the hard drive caddies.

Hi there, this is my first post on this site and In thought I would start off with my h440 build. I have various mods that I am going to work on in the coming weeks, Including a full custom water cooling loop and a custom front panel. I have a few other bits and bobs like getting a new power supply so I can get sleeved cables easily as my current one is basically impossible, this will allow me to clean all my cables up a bit better ( as extensions make it a mess). Also custom painting a few components.Specs:Hero Maximus viig1 gaming 10806700kevga g1 650w2 kingston 240gb ssd2tb wd blackcorsair h115i16gb corsair veng ram So currently running this build, Below I have 2 drawings outlining a couple of my plans as previously mentioned. So below is my planned parts list, please let me know if you would recommend anything else or have any helpful suggestions.EKWB EK-XRES 100 Revo D5 pump/res2x 360m ek coolstream radsEK supremacy Evo cpu blockEk G1 1080 block and backplateprimochill flexi red tubingEk 1/2 inch fittings and a ball valve drain port at the lowest pointCorsair sp120s This is the rough layout for front panel I want to do. As in pic I want the 3 front fans outside of the main section of the chassis sitting inside the front panel (checked clearance already). Also as mentioned it will sitting right on the border or slightly over the edge of the red ring on the corsair fans. I am undecided on what to use as the material to fill the gap with. I have a few options including using modders mesh then somehow fitting as dust filter behind, using some custom dust filter to fill the gaping hole or somehow reuse the including nzxt dust filter. So these are my plans, please feel free to give me any feedback on my plans. Also help me with a name!!Peace!!

Hi. So I've been recently looked into modifying my MasterCase 5 Pro, and got a lot of recommendations on using the NZXT's Hue+ with the 4 RGB strips. And beyond that I was also looking to upgrade my case fans and thought the Corsair's 120mm ML120's would do justice for the build. But then I stumbled upon a problem. See, I want my case to be well lit as the result of this build, so I'd like to know, should I go for the ML120 which have white lighting on them, or should I just go with the regular ML120 without any lighting? Does the lighting of the fans have big impact on the rest of the case lighting? -Sebbyy

So, here's gonna be my very first build log! Are you excited? I know i am! This is by no means my very first build. I've build around 5 PC's before, some really nice ones too imo, but never really got to making a real proper build log. Time to change that, no? So, let's get to it then. The name of the beast: Black Mac. "Why?" You ask? Well, because this PC is gonna be build in a modded Mac case. Specifically this one: Now that right there is a beauty, isn't it? This beast will be a video editing workstation for my older bro, who is in need of a new one. I originally planned for this to be a F@H PC, but as my post in the thread below describes, those plans are off for now. Now for the meat and potatoes, the actually important stuff. The (updated) specs! Case- Powermac G5 (m-ATX modded) (purchased) CPU- Intel Xeon E5 2603 V4 (purchased) MOBO- Asus X99-M WS/SE (Purchased) GPU- Nvidea GTX Titan X (Maxwell) 2-Way SLI (Purchased) PSU- EVGA Supernova 850W (Purchased) SSD- WD Blue M.2 1TB RAM- 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 (purchased) Cooling- Custom Cooling loop! (hardline?) Right now i'm going to keep the stock cooling in because of time constraints. So, expect updates as the parts start rolling in. I, for one, am really looking foreward to this building adventure. Adios!

Hello browsers of the internet: I have a normal version of the S340, and I decided it was time to get myself a custom side panel with tempered glass instead of the horrible acrylic the case comes with. Here is how I did it and the end result. The mod still has a lot of room for improvement, but I'm fairly happy with the results. Materials used: -Tempered glass with a medium tint film, 43 x 44.5cm --> 150 mxn (8 USD from my local glass workshop) -Aluminum flat profile 38x3mm, 4m long --> 160 mxn (8.50 USD from my local metal workshop) -Aluminum L profile 12x12mm, 5m long, 1mm thick --> 100mxn (5.30 USD) -Aluminum C profile 0.9x0.9mm, 5m long, 1mm thick --> 120mxn (6.40 USD) -Small tube of resistol 5000 (high strength contact glue) --> 60mxn (3.20 USD) -Small tube of sealing silicone --> 80mxn (4.25 USD) Grand total: 35.65 USD + a bunch of unused aluminum and adhesives Tools: -Metal hacksaw with handle -A couple of vise grips -Spatula (to spread the adhesives) -Metal files -4mm drill bit and drill Build Process: This build is very simple and can be completed in a couple of hours. The only lengthy bit, is waiting for the adhesives to fully cure in order to proceed. First off, cut the flat aluminum profile into 2 lengths of 43cm and 2 more lengths of 37cm. These 4 bits will make the frame to which the glass panel will be attached. Next up, cut 30cm of the C shaped profile, this will handle most of the weight of the side panel so that it can rest on the bottom of the case structure. Finally, cut the L- shaped profile to get a length of 44.5cm. This one will be attached to the back of the panel and will hold everything in place with thumbscrews. I recommend you approximate the distances with a couple of mm to spare and then file the pieces down to the correct lengths. Its easier to remove material than to add it! With all of the cutting done, attach all of the flat profiles to the glass panel using the sealing silicone. first, clean both the glass and the aluminum, then apply a seam of silicone to the aluminum and spread it with the spatula. Finally place the aluminum on the glass. Rinse and repeat for all 4 pieces and use small clamps to hold them in place for 24 hours. Next up, focus on the bottom part of the panel and make a mark 9mm over the lower edge. Attach the C shaped profile on this mark using the contact adhesive. Make sure you read and follow the instructions for your adhesive, since this bond will be supporting most of the weight of the structure. Let it cure for as long as needed. Grab the L profile and make 2 holes 44mm from the edges. Attach this piece to the back of the side panel and let the glue cure. Congrats! the build is done! Let me know what you think (aside from wonky) and please share any improvements you come up with. Thanks for reading!

Greetings I want to connect a case fan to a graphic card directly to its PCB. I have Sapphire 7870 with dual fans.(Image attached) and the fans connected to its PCB has 4 pintouts (Image attached) whereas a regular case fan [LED/or not] has three pinouts (Image attached). Will it work if i splice the case fan wires to the graphic card fan connectors and if it's possible what wires do i need to connect considering the pinout differences and also what are the pros and cons? What about the specification of the fans, do i need to match the specifications of the graphic card fan i.e. DC 12V 0.35Amp?

So I havent really posted here before besides the odd comment here or there, a coworker suggested I do a proper build log for my baby. Ive been working on this one in either planning/draw ups or actual building for 2 years roughly (obviously drawn out because money/time). In short the justification for this build's name is it being my favourite character from any video game, Zia from Bastion (not related to the theme ive been calling my PC's that for years, technically this is Zia 4.0). The theme of the build started as a kind of Tracer from Overwatch inspired build early on when it was living in a Fractal R5, beyond that Star Wars VII came out and BB-8 basically made me go... Well thats just it isnt it? So it began, a build on a white and orange (and eventually silver as well) theme, inspired by a small cute droid. Moving forward ill be taking A LOT more photos and also video if I can help it. I have pretty basic painting experience and have built a fair few PC's for either family, friends, the odd client or myself (nearish to 40 in my time over the years). I'll do my best to detail my steps and I will add to this moving forward (probably a post per part format maybemaybe?). Thought it might be a bit of fun List of parts as of current: NZXT S340 Elite White i7 6700k MSI Z170 Gaming Carbon Motherboard 16GB of Kingston (I think?) RAM (getting replaced) GTX 1080Ti (was a 1070) (to be painted watch this space) Corsair H115 GTX (partial painted) 4x Corsair White LED "Mag-Lev" fans (3x 140mm, 1x 120mm) (painted) EVGA 750W G2 Power Supply Samsung 840 and 850 EVO (120GB and 500GB respectively) DIY custom cables from Cablemod WD Red 2TB HDD. Other bits for those that care: Acer X34 3440x1440 Main Monitor Benq 24" 1080p Side Monitor Corsair K70 (painted) Razer Naga Epic Seinheiser Game One Headset Razer Goliathus (or whatever its called) Overwatch Themed Mat If anyone has any questions about methods, materials, details about bits being taken apart etc etc please dont hesitate to ask

This is a simple mod. I replaced my factory Seasonic PSU fan with a Corsair ML120 White LED fan. In my opinion the LED load of the case was a little unbalanced. I decided to try to add an LED fan to replace my existing Seasonic factory unit. First step was to remove the Power Supply and old fan. Oh, you will void your warranty, so don't mess up. Disconnect the fan cable from the header inside the power supply. There are only two cables. A Ground and a +12V. You will be removing some unnecessary cables from the new LED fan. You only need the +12V and Ground wires. The other two are for the PWM signal and a tach wire so your motherboard knows the RPM of the fan. Cut the two wires far enough away from the plug so you give yourself plenty of room to work. Remember to transfer that small piece of plastic to the new fan. Grab either some solder or some wire connectors. I chose to solder my wires but there are always options. If you soldered your wires, remember to add heat shrink or your gonna have a bad time. Reconnect the cable to the PSU and reinstall the cover. Reinstall the PSU, sit back and enjoy the glory of a much quieter and much brighter fan. IMHO, this mod really did a lot to balance out the LEDs in the case. I really don't want to go the RGB route and this was a fun little Saturday project. Thanks for checking out my post. Leave any questions or comments, I'll get to them.

Hey guys! So I've been working on this project for the past few weeks. For a bit of background my girlfriend and I are both college students and are rather broke. We love playing video games together but she was very limited due to her rather slow school laptop. That's why I set out to build something aesthetically pleasing for a very low budget. Which is were a lot of calls, friends, and connections came in.... First off I'll start with the case mod: Cutting Started: The Inspiration: Now.....here was our first mess up.....: Exterior Paint: Window hole is cut and paint has been added: Mid Post Refresher: Graphics Card: Motherboard: Led Wiring: God I Hope They Look Good Inside.... God Bless....Let's Start Putting Everything: Problem Solved!: Let's Start Her Up!: But I Got It! Final Photo: Altogether I'm very happy with this project and I can't wait to do one for my own case. Overall I spent under 150$ for everything. There were some mess-ups and it's not perfect but.....she loves it! Bonus:

I am starting a new case mod that I am naming Cerulean, a mix between blue and green, which will be the primary color of this mod. I will also add some yellow highlights. Specs: Intel Xeon 2609 v3 ASRock X99 Extreme3 Motherboard 16gb HyperX Fury DDR4 (4x4gb) 240gb HyperX Savage SSD (Graphics Card TBC) Silverstone Raven 2 Case Sponsors: HyperX The Plan: Create a front window to showcase the graphics card. Make a power supply shroud. Paint the case blue with yellow highlights.

I'm building a desk PC. I'm almost completely done, ready to make my final cuts, super excited. The last hangup I have has been bugging me since I first got this idea. It's how to mount the gpu flat on the table, fan side up. I can't find any useful information anywhere on the internet, and every idea I come up with on my own seems incredibly convoluted. Can anyone help me out here? For the record, I'm using a zotac gtx 1070. Another issue I have is that the cooler overhangs the pcb by about an inch so it would be difficult it use the holes in the pcb to mount it since I'm not sure how I would reattach the cooler to the gpu once it's mounted. If there's anything I'm overlooking or any ideas you have please let me know Pic of my layout attached

Hi all,A friend of mine gave me this U4 case. I love it, think it has a lot of attitude, and i want to bring it back to life! I will probably put a freeNAS machine in it, or maybe even a gaming rig. sitting free on the desk with a Plexiglas top.But first things first...Does anyone know what case this is! I don't know anything about it really: brand age etc. I don't even know how or where to mount HDDs. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hey guys so i want to theme my pc around the character Black Rock Shooter (in short Black And Blue) so blue led's and accenting etc etc. now my pc has a gtx 780 in it that i love very much minus the green geforce logo yes it looks impressive and a few people at lan parties have said to me wow that looks cool however it doesn't fit into a blue build when its ya know green so i found a tutorial on changing the colour and it seems very simple however i don't know what sort of paint to use on the logo rubber cardy thing that the light comes through, obviously enamel would be too thick and likely wouldn't let any light through from the cards white LED's and somebody mentioned lightbulb paint but i cant find a single website that proves its current existence so if anyone could help me here that would be fantastic.

hey guys so i have a thing for old hardware and so my lan pc currently runs a gtx 480 watercooled with a q6600 2.9ghz. id like to use the 2nd identical 480 ive got (same aquagrafx480 block) and run them together because why the hell not i like the look of it. now i have the opportunity to get an Asus striker 2 ROG board for cheap and i really want it so i'm thinking of pairing that with some form of lga 771 xeon because current Q6600 is admittedly bottle necking 1 480 but screw the price of the high end C2Q's. this projects gonna be slooooow to finish because i have to buy a big ass power supply *fun* with my small amount of cash but for me it will be totally worth it even though i have an already much better pc (although with how much trouble its been giving me i might end up parting it out to fund this sli 480 rig xD) so anyway i found an E5504 for $10 (AUD) $10 and i also found an x5650 for a little more so does anyone know which is the better cpu and also if someone could give a list of the best xeons for the job so i can hunt the used market for them as well that would be fantastic. like i said before this pc is just thing i want to do i actually enjoy gaming on the single 480 q6600 pc more than i do my main far better pc idk why maybe just because its nice to see old hardware play games it said not to be able to but im rambling so yeah best lga 771 xeons give us a shout guys. Cheers

I was curious if anyone ever modded their peripherals. Im not sure how many parts of your (mice, keysboard, and most important,) headset, can be disassembled for painting. Since its possible with a graphicscard, why not try it on a bunch of other stuff.

It is finally time for me to start my first modding project, feels very exciting. I have spent many months reading forums and reviews trying to decide on what case to base my build on. That case decision outlines all other hardware, specially my custom water loop components as the case defines the dimensions available. To make the project even more exciting and challenging I decided to not only do my first mod, but also to build my very first water cooled computer and go all in with full loop and hard lines. I hope I can inspire someone with this build, but happy as I finally found my passion – building and modding computers. Basic concept I wanted to create a computer that could pass only for a piece of furniture. First idea was to convert a 300mm wide kitchen cabinet that is part of my location built gaming desk, but abandoned that idea early. Instead the concept of a Scandinavian inspired design theme that would work as a design piece inspired by a furniture was born. Black, white and grey quickly formed the colour theme and strict and clean lines with light surfaces formed around the Scandinavian theme. Light wood was out of the loop from start This foundation has formed all my choices when picking components as well. Keep true to the theme, colours and concept. This theme also made it easy not to jump on the RGB train. This is an unsponsored project, except from my amazing girlfriend, that is my biggest sponsor. Sponsors I want to thank my sponsor that joined mid this project - be quiet! I'm both humble and proud. Thank you so much for your trust! Hardware Case: Be quiet! I recently bought a graphic card "GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti DirectX 12 GV-N108TAORUS-11GD" with a VR HDMI port out of the back. I am aware that my case" DEEPCOOL GENOME II" does not support HDMI output on the front panel. So I intended to mod it to accept HDMI out. I am unable to find a cable that will connect to my graphic card, and secure to front panel, nor is there any youtube video on this type of mod. I would like a female adapter to be secured to my front panel, without having a cable stick out of the front. I would also like for it to look professional/manufacturer quality. At this time I am unable to find what I need or how to accomplish this. If anyone cant point me in the right direction. I would greatly appreciate it. Also I would love to see Linus, or team create a youtube video, for future people looking to do the same thing I want to do.
