Hey guys, this is a bit of an odd one, but I'm looking for a Micro ATX, or a mini ITX motherboard that would work with an i7 6700k + GTX 960 combo. They are from an old computer that I can't be bothered selling for parts, but they are sitting in a huge case. So I figured I'll pick up a small form MB and transplant it all into a tiny case to keep as a spare machine, or give to a family member if they can use it. Ideally I'd like the board to be new(if that's even still a thing) and as cheap as possible, but I don't want some dodgy no name brand either. I found a case that will work for 15 quid, so that leaves more spare for the MB if needed. All the naming for the older generations is really confusing to me so that's why I'm struggling to figure this one out. Hope you can help me.:)

I am building 2 PCs and one of them will be a small form PC with a micro ATX case. Initially I picked the Fractal Design Pop Mini air but I was informed that it wasn't available in my country. The next best thing was the fractal design Fractal Design Meshify 2 but it's a lot more expensive. Can you recommend me a Micro ATX case with good airflow and space for 2 HDDs?

Hello, Posting my first topic on the community forum so I'm sorry if it's not listed in the good place or anything, I'm kind of a noob to the forum (And also sorry for my weird writing sometimes, I'm French so English is not my native language). So, to make it simple, I Have a 1650 super (from MSI, the aero itx oc for those how wants the references) and an Intel i5 9400F (with CoolerMaster Hyper 212) on a MSI B360M mortar with 4x4Go with Corsair vengeance lpx that run at 2666Mhz (I bought the 2400Mhz but overclocked it to 2666Mhz if we can even call that Overclocking) It's in a micro atx case that sucks (it was a Kolink I think, closed front panel so I drilled holes every 1cm on the ALL front panel for better airflow). My problem is that I kinda want to upgrade, but I'm also kinda broke, so my choice was to upgrade the case first to a Corsair 4000D airflow. Then replace the motherboard with an MSI MAG Z490 Tomahawk, Intel Z490 (I only go with MSI for motherboard 'cause I LOVE their bios) and take an INTEL Core i5-10400F. You are probably wondering why I'm just telling you my life, but my question is that, do you think I should make this upgrade or not (I'm also not considering to switch to AMD) or do you have any advice or recommendation for me to upgrade from my current build? I also did consider to go with 12th gen directly, but since I'm broke right now I thought about going to 10 and maybe later going to 12 but since it is not the same socket, yeah, I kind of lost in what to do which is why I'm asking the legend list community for advice! Thank you!!

I am putting together my first build, and I am still deciding on a motherboard. I have decided on micro atx, and on AM4, but the one I have my eyes on (Gigabyte B550M AORUS PRO-P), does not have WIFI or Bluetooth, which is a must have for me. The router is on the other side of the house and I can not move it, and wiring a cable would be incredibly hard. I also need Bluetooth for all of my speakers and headphones. Is it worth it to get that board and then buy the adapters? Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you so much!

Budget (including currency): ~$400 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details RTX3060, I7-6700K,Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-2133 CL13 Memory The goal is to stop bottleneck on the 3060 with a new CPU and MOBO. Im on a budget and want to only replace CPU/MOBO so there is a massive complication...... Restrictions: Micro ATX board and I would like a the newest CPU that still supports DDR3/DDR4 so I can keep using the RAM and upgrade to DDR4 later.

Question regarding size! Hello, I am about to build my first PC! I have purchased my motherboard which is a MSI MAG B560M MORTAR. This is a Micro ATX motherboard, and I am about to buy a NZXT H510 elite and I'm wondering if it's going to look terrible as the motherboard is small. I was thinking about mounting my GPU vertically (2060) but I've heard its bad for airflow. I'm going for an aesthetically pleasing PC and I'm not exactly sure how it will turn out! Any advice or pictures of similar pc's would be appreciated!

I recently acquired a used FM2-A75IA-E53 motherboard, supposedly, pulled off a working system. When I tried turning it on for the first time there was no POST, not even a display came up, and any usb peripherals I plugged in didn't seem to be getting any power. I plugged in peripherals I was sure worked, as well as monitor and display cables. At first I had installed an A4-7300 cpu, but learned that the motherboard may have needed a bios update to support that cpu, so I bought an A4-5300B just to update the bios, still no POST or power to usb? I do want to mention that the cpu fan turns on, the cpu is heating up, and the psu turns on. I know for a fact the psu, ram, peripherals, monitor, and cables work. There is a slight buzzing I can hear in the cpu socket even without the cpu installed but I'm not sure that is the problem. Apart from all this, the only weird thing is the 24 pin connector is difficult to plug in and unplug, but I don't see anything physically wrong with it. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. This is a repost of an earlier post I made which has gone unanswered. I am stumped and on the verge of giving up.

Hi. My query is hipotetical. I’m configuring a new PC, a miniITX. So far I bought only the CPU and RAM but before going further with everything else for a mini ITX, I want to check how could I configure a micro ATX instead in order to have more space for future upgradability, especially to add future connectivity such as: USB 4, 10 Gb/s Ethernet, etc... or some retro connectivity such as firewire (I got some old miniDV tapes to capture). My question is about the type of PCIe slots I should be looking for. The most I could find are micro ATX motherboards with 2 PCIe x16 but none with x4. Will it be enough or should I look for x4 PCIe slots only? Thanks.

Hi. I'm trying to configure my first custom built PC in more than 20 years, since I've been daily driving macs so far. I really like small desktops but it doesn't necessarily have to be very small, at least not bigger than necessary. I've been configuring pcs for months but there's one thing I'm getting wrong. Coming from years of laptops I'm embracing the upgradability of PCs and for that I'd really like to configure my build with and extra PCIe x16 or x4 (from what I'm reading) for future upgrades such as a 10 GB/s ethernet, some faster USB port, or some other expantion. To begin with, is it even possible on a mini or micro atx? Could you suggest me one or two configurations where this will be possible? My plans so far were to get a case as big as the Corsair Crystal x280 or as small as the Lian Li TU150 or the Cooler Master NR200 with a X570 motherboard to start first with a Ryzen 3000 APU and upgrading to Ryzen 5000 CPUs and a RX 6800 as soon as they become fairly available, I'm not pre-ordering. If it isn't possible or overcomplicated I'll drop the idea. Thanks

Hey guys, I'm currently planning to build a new PC with the ASUS Z490-G (micro ATX), an i5-10600k and an AIO cooler. So now I’m looking for a case. The first case I found was the H510 but I read conflicting reviews when it comes to the Air-Flow and overall with the design I'm a little worried that a front AIO would turn the case into a hot box. Are there any other good micro ATX cases you can recommend? (Athletics are kind of important to me) Oh, and I'm also planning to overclock the CPU but nothing to crazy.

Hey everybody, I am trying to figure out what parts I can put together for under 1000. I have a Micro ATX case, also I have no need for any rgb lighting. I tried myself to put something together, but I don't think I am informed enough to make a actual purchase with any confidence. Still new to building, I would appreciate the help.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I'll try be as concise as possible. I have purchased a new PC, and it has been working fine for some weeks now. Today I saw that the PC started by itself and then shut down (within 6 seconds) and no display were shown. To my surprise it kept doing this until I turned the PSU switch to off. I have researched through Google but with no luck. Here is what I have tried: Checking the PSU cables - They seem fine and the fans and LEDs work, but just for some seconds before it shuts down . Checking the CPU for broken pins or other issues - The CPU seems to be fine. Removed the GPU - Same outcome Removed some RAM slots and exchanging where they sit - No success also Checking the motherboard's cables to see if they are loose or not connected - No success Also I have noted that there is a Yellow light in the motherboard, but this light I remember has been present since the beginning. Here are the specs: Micro-ATX MSI B450M PRO-VDH Max AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Octa-Core, 3.70 GHz Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB HDMI / DUAL DP (UEFI) Full G.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3000MHz CL16 SSD M.2 2280 Western Digital Blue SN500 500GB 3D NAND NVMe What can I do ? Do any of you guys have had this problem ? Please bare in mind I'm still a beginner (even though I can understand most things) and also I do not have any tools for disassembling the PC other than the common tools in the house hold (for example I do not have termal paste, special tools, etc.) Thanks for any guidance,

Hello, I've started running into trouble with space in the small room I'm living in. I currently have a 1,4m desk which takes up half the width of the room and I only have about 30cm next to it. Currently there is an old wooden box thingy there I made a long time ago where my computer is on top off but it's quite in the way and it wouldn't be the first time I bumped the computer pretty hard or the box when leaving the room. I'm looking for a small as possible solution to put the computer in that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Putting the computer under my desk is not an option as my desk is sectioned in such a way that I have half of it available for art by moving my chair a bit to the left and the other half I sit on the right for for normal work. Currently I'm using a zalman z9 plus case from ages ago that I still had over from my first good computer but it's far too big to be on my desk. I've looked into smaller cases but they all take up to much space. What's normally on my desk: A wacom cintiq 13HD A 15 inch laptop A 24 inch screen that's on a monitor arm so not too much in the way Wired full size keyboard Small Bluetooth keyboard Wireless mouse I don't use the computer as my main system. It is more my oh crap my laptop can't handle my 3d stuff or my photoshop project got way out of hand lets move to the desktop. So my wacom is usually hooked up to my laptop so I'd like to still be able to easily switch to my desktop with it some way. My desktops specs: Ryzen 7 2700 Stock cooler 32gb ddr4 3000mhz Asrock b450 micro atx board 550w seasonic focus plus platinum 1tb sata ssd 1tb nvme ssd 2tb hdd The hdd can easily be removed from the system as it's just mainly cold storage. I don't care about rgb (I turn it off), glass, windowed sidepanels or anything. As long as the case is just a non intrusive looking box I'm good and if it isn't then so be it. The cooler master q300l did look like a good option but it's already on the big side.

Hi all, I currently run a hybrid cooling system with a micro-ATX board inside an older Lian Li PC-V350B. But recently when upgrading, I find the case to be rather cramped. I got the case because of its form factor and 5.25 inch bays. But now I'm thinking of moving back to small tower cases, especially because it makes upgrades more convenient. Plus, I have 5 RGB fans, 2 of which I had to give up when moving my tech into the Lian Li. I have shortlisted a few cases, but I'm somewhat divided. What would y'all pick? 1) Tecware Nova M3 - SGD 58 2) Tecware Nexus M - SGD 49 3) Tecware Vega - SGD 89 4) Cooler Master NR400 - SGD 78 5) Apevia XpackQ3 - around SGD 70 without shipping 6) Aigo Darkflash DLM21 about SGD 55 7) Aigo Darkflash DLM22 about SGD 55 ? Tecware Quad - SGD 55 9) Gamemax H605 - SGD 55 Prices are the best ones I could find around. Also, does anyone have experience with the Aigo cases? How is their cooling like?

So here's the deal. I'm moving off to college and my room will be quite cramped, especially the desk, so I would like to move my build from the Atx Corsair Carbide spec Omega to a masterbox q300l micro atx Case. In my current build I have an atx mobo : MSI Z370 GAMING M5. In that I have an I3 8350k and a 1070 ti on a 1440p monitor. In my closet form another build I have a ryzen 2200g(which I would want to replace) on a $60 gigabyte micro atx board. I see a ryzen 2600 on craigslist in y area for $100. I am just wondering what everyone thinks? Should I buy the 2600 and go the ryzen 2600 route with similar performance, or buy a micro atx intel mobo?

I'm trying to make a smaller sized PC to go into my living room but I'm a bit stuck on which mobo to get, was wondering if I could get some insight. Not sure if I'm going ATX or itx but so far it's between the MSI - B450M MORTAR and gaming plus. I'm putting a ryzen 7 2600x in it and am looking for what the best solution would be for overclocking. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hello everyone, I've been thinking about upgrading my computer pretty soon. This is roughly my current system, though the case is different. I've been using it for about a year and while I'm happy with it for my engineering classes and light video gaming, I want to upgrade it! I'm between 2 different upgrade options: CPU or GPU. For the CPU, I would get a Ryzen 5 1600. For the GPU, I would get an RX 560 (used or otherwise). I wouldn't mind getting something different for either of those, but I don't need anything better than 1080p for gaming (I have a 16x10 I game on, so I guess it's technically 1920x1200) and I edit video footage for occasional YouTube videos. Thoughts? Opinions? Questions about why I have such weird storage devices? Should I just get both? (If it changes things, I'm graduating in May and hopefully will have a job right away.) I'm somewhat beginner to PC building and I want some clarification before I spend my money, so please help me.? I'm planning to build a MicroATX setup with MSI B450M Mortar , Asus ROG Strix RTX 2060 and other components. The reason I'm building a MicroATX setup is for a somewhat compact system with some expandability. I wanted to add a network adapter to the mobo(TP Link Archer T6E) but it seems the graphics card I'm planning to buy occupies 2.5 slots of the mobo and I'm not sure if I can add that. If I can't add any expansion cards, there's no use for me to buy a micro atx setup. I'd rather go for fully compact Mini ITX or expandable standard ATX setup. So, can micro atx mobo hold a beefy graphics card and a network adpater, (or) if it doesn't should I go for a smaller card like the Zotac RTX 2060 which I hope will leave some space for expansion cards (or) should I go for a Mini ITX/std ATX setup (or) any other idea by which I can get a compact and expandable setup. Thanks in advance!?
