Hello, So as a lovely Christmas present I get the g skill trident z royal 2 x 16gb sticks which are overclockable to 3600MHz with xmp turned on. As an average person you just do it save it and boom you're fine. With my luck that's another story. When i overclock it I get bad blue screens of death and many instabilities when I load into windows 11. So I'm going to ask got some help. Can I only leave it at 2666MHz stock or can I overclock it higher and higher until I run into any other problems with it? The video shows my ram at 3600mhz and is stuck on this screen. So basically what I'm asking for is that does anyone know how to manually overclock the ram to I'm not sure 3200MHz? Any help, greatly appreciated! Also enjoy the rest of your Christmas!! 8mb.video-6dA-YMUvKvQ1.mp4

Hello, I just found out that my RAM is only running on 2400 MHz (I've bought my extra RAM with 3600 MHz a year ago...). But now I wanted to ask how could I "speed it up"? I've read that I need to do it in BIOS and I already tried that but with my BIOS I couldn't find the option to set it higher. I found the tab "Memory Information" which only tells me it's running at 2400 MHz but nothing more. Is there a way to fix that or do I have to buy a better Motherboard? (btw I also couldn't find XMP in the BIOS) Best Regards Specs: CPU: Motherboard: RAM:

I'm corently planning a new rig, and one of the things i have problem to choose is Ram. i see tons of options i do have limited budget but im looking for good speed (sweet spot) for ddr5 kit. I'm aiming twords 32 gigs, but this is where i found the tricky part: what latency and what mhz speed is good for gaming? ty for your help answering this and i don't like rgb. have a nice day you all

I noticed today randomly my memory is only clocking up to 9252mhz stock. I updated my GPU drivers, performed a clean installation and cant seem to get it back to 9502mhz like it used to be. I have actually no idea why its doing this and ive never seen this before. Happened randomly. I changed NVCP to prefer maximum performance and yet its still only clocking to 9252mhz. On a 3080 tuf OC. Not throttling, VRAM temps in the 70s.

Hi! After some troubleshooting, googling and black magic, i have still not found why my memory wont clock at an "advertised" speed at 4000MHz DDr4, from what i understand 1 single ram stick should run at 2000MHz when in a DDR4 setup turning it in to 4000MHz with both sticks, but correct me if i'm wrong. Problem: RAM speed is locked at 1200MHz, tried turning on XMP 1 and 2, this causes ram to crash, tried to manually set it to: 1200-4000 it still crashes. updating bios did not help, updating drivers did not help. Its probably a super ez fix but my know how stops here. I'm not getting any error codes except for "after last changes pc starts in safe mode press f1 to start bios"

SPECS: MB: MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS MEMORY: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 8x4 = 32gb 3200mhz GPU: RTX 2070 CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 3600 PSU: 750w The marketed speed of the ram is 3200mhz, but whenever I run it at that speed, I have bsod's,crashes etc... The bsod's are varied and are almost always different, it's almost never the same bsod. These almost always show up when I boot the pc. Whenever I run windows memory diagnostics tool or memtest it always returns with thousands of problems, but when I run it at 2100mhz for example, I get no problems on the test and no crashes. I have tried XMP aswell but it has the same result. Every driver and bios is updated. What do I need to do to fix this?

Hi! So today I just got on my pc like normal and my gpu clocks like to jump up to 1319 (State 6) and then go back down to 300MHz (State 0) it's getting really annoying. I tried disabling everything in xbox game bar and all that and it just isn't helping please tell me what's wrong it's sitting at idle!

Hello! i have 2x32GB ddr4 RAM sticks that are 3600mhz. I just upgraded my motherboard and CPU, and after doing that, my RAM speed was lowered. I double checked and the PC sees both sticks, and they are placed in B1 and A1 slot on the motherboard. The RAM speed in BIOS is set to Auto, and i tried changing the speed in bios to 3600mhz, but then my pc didn't want to boot! it started up, but shut down before even bios screen, then came up with error, so i had to change it back to Auto to boot in to windows. Any tips? Specs: Motherboard - Rog Strix B550-E Gaming CPU - Ryzen 9 5900X RAM - Corsair Vengance RGB PRO, 2x32GB, 3600MHz

ram Can I Run 2400mhz & 3200mhz RAM same Time?
MasudRana posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Can I Run 2400mhz & 3200mhz RAM same Time? I have currenty Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB X 2 DDR4 2400Mhz in my system. But I think this model is less available to buy another 16 gb of ram in my country. I wanted to upgrade my ram to 32gb. Can I buy 8x2 gb of 3200mhz ram and pair with 2400mhz ram for couple of months? Later I will sell the 2400 and buy another pair of 3200. Thank you very much!! -
Recently i've had an issue where every time i make a change in bios (or just entering it and leaving without making any changes), the pc will repeatedly reboot then boot normally but without applying the changes i've made meaning that my ram is stcuk at 2133 mhz on a ryzen cpu. I don't know if it's a psu problem or a motherboard problem. I would be really thankful if someone had a solution to this problem. Many thanks. Build:-cpu: Ryzen 7 2700x -gpu: Gigabyte rx 590 8gb -motherboard: msi b450 gaming plus max -ram: Vengeance RGB PRO SL - 2 x 8 Go - DDR4 3600 MHz -psu: evga 850w 80+ bronze -storage: 1 1tb hard drive and 2 120gb and 240gb respectively ssds

My memory appears as 0MHz in bios for some reason, recently, my system had been restarting randomly sometimes when idle sometimes when under load, completely randomly so I opened the bios and saw this. Also, when I reset the cmos and did all that hard reset procedure, the usual "American Megatrends" page came up where there was a different story going on, pictures of every screen has been attached for clarity of the issue. Don't worry about only 4 gigs of RAM popping up on the "American Megatrends" page, I had removed one stick but the same random numbers appear when I have both the RAM sticks installed. Any idea what this could be?

Hi, I was browsing CPUs and noticed that in their specification section it shows something like ...up to 3200MHz and ...DDR4-3200. Does this mean it doesn't matter what MHz your ram is and it will be limited to 3200MHz? Kind regards.

HI everyone, why does my 3600 not do single core boost? It only does all-core even on War Thunder what exactly is wrong?

my ram is not working at full speed XMP profile is set to 1600 but its still working on 1333 both motherboard and cpu support 1600mhz. it all started after when i changed my case (built myself) before it was running 1600.

I have bought a DDR4 4GB RAM 2666MHz latency oF CL 19. My laptop is i3 6th gen 6006u, it was preinstalled with a hynix 2400mhz cl 17. Will mixing these speed and latency effect.my system or render my system dead?

Problem identifying if I have the correct RAM
Kiric posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
So my Problem is that I bought new RAM (3200 MHz) and I'm kinda doubting that I got the real product because on one hand -> Task Manager, parts of my BIOS and parts of CPU-Z are telling me that I've got 3200 MHz BUT.. -> HWInfo // HWMonitor and also another part of my BIOS is telling me that I only have 1332 MHz. As for my specs: Mainboard: MSI Tomahawk MAX CPU: Ryzen 3700X RAM: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B083TYS4TL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Basically I have been promised a 3200 MHz but I'm doubting myself on it and god please tell me I'm just stupid. I also activated my A-XMP Profile with no change I updated my BIOS I also found out, that I got sent two times the single channel sticks instead of what I actually bought the 2x8GB Dual sticks. (The Model number matches) Alas, thank you for reading and if anyone got a suggestion as to if I should get another RAM feel free to do so! -
System Specs (I know its trash): -Mother Board: ASRock A320M-HDV -CPU: AMD A8-9600 -GPU (Integrated): AMD A8-9600 RADEON R7, 10 COMPUTE CORES 4C+6G -RAM: Kingston, 8gb DDR4 (1200MHz [heres comes the confusion]) P/N: HP24D4U7S8MBP/8 So I was recently thinking about upgrading my ram first to have 16gb total. I searched all the details, watched almost all Linus RAM tips, watched other videos as well, i have all clear at the moment of physically installing ram, but at the moment of the ram specs I get a little confused. I know that to dual channel to work, i need the same brand, speed, size, etc. But... when I was searching for the same ram, it seems its no longer existing. Also, I saw great part of the rams being 2400mhz. Heres comes the problem. In the sticker in the ram, its says something like: "PC4-2400R-UA1-11", and so i though: "maybe that 2400R thing is the speed of the ram", but in CPU-Z says its 1200Mhz. T That's basically the problem. 1. I dont know if the 2400R thing in the sticker is the speed or do i believe in cpu-z and the 1200mhz. Thanks. I might be the dumbest person, but pls help me...

Hello LTT community I have purchased a 3200G for a relative and wanted to get it up and running. I ran the RAM at 3200MHz during Windows Setup and it installed just fine. Every single time, 10 minutes after the install, the system would crash however, and not respond to reboots (flickering / random glitchy patches). I figured it probably is a driver problem caused by Windows Update. After 6 hours of reinstallations, manual safety boots into Windows and trying to install the VGA drivers manually (which requires VS Redis, which in return require a Windows service that is disabled in the safe boot state, thanks Microsoft, but that is a different story), it still happened every time the driver was installed, even with the max supported RAM speed of 2933MHz. As a last resort I tried to set the RAM speed to 1333MHz to see what happens... Bam! Booting straight to the desktop. I can increase the RAM speed to 2400MHz max, after which I can not boot into Windows using the official drivers (Latest, and with stable certified build, and with the 2020 stable build). Is this normal behavior? I see many people in forums reporting similar issues to mine, but the minimum supported speed should be 2933MHz according to the spec sheet. What should I do? Why would the default Windows VGA driver work with 3200MHz, but the official one won't? Thanks Edit: Interesting side note: I inserted my relatives' old GT 430 and prevented the execution of Windows Update entirely. After uninstalling the AMD Radeon drivers using safe boot, the system seems to run stable while running the RAM at 3200 MHz XMP. But I have to use the integrated graphics in the Ryzen chip and would like to leave Windows Update enabled, so this is sadly still no solution.

confusion CPU -> RAM Speed compatibility
Brownhorn111 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
So continues the saga of me trying to figure out how technology works. Hello again, I'll try to be brief about this. I am planning to build a strong PC, and I am confused. I have plans to use 3600MHz RAM. However I just noticed.. what in the name of christ does this mean, AMD? System Memory Specification Up to 3200MHz? I'm mighty confused. What CPU out there is compatible with RAM speeds of 3600MHz? Is it more dependant on the MB? Is this spec listed just poorly explained? Am I dumb? What is happening? Cheers, -RalphAlpha111 -
Hello , I recently noticed that my cpu just won’t boost to what it needs to , I haven’t touched nothing , no bios settings , no ryzen master settings , I just installed windows , is there a way to fix this ? I will show you a video of how the MHz jumps , in that video it only stayed at 4025 - 4050 why is that ? In all games is the same , it used to be at 4200 63175652064__A92DB244-DE88-4237-A2AD-19E92CB2AA71.MOV

Budget (including currency): As much as needed. Upgrading from i7 7700k and want a cpu that will last for 4+ years Country: Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: OW, RDR2, SOTTR, new nvenc streaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have 1080p 144hz but am thinking of getting 1080p 240hz or 1440p 165hz Is this a good deal? i9 9900k, corsair hydro H100x, asus strix z390, corsair 2x8gb ram at 3200 mhz cl 16 for 800 euros? a pc store is selling that upgrade bundle seems like I save 60 euros Maybe ryzen is cheaper/better not sure. 5600x is about 330$ and 5800x is about 480$ I believe,

Had Fps drops/stuttering for a while and have done many post to sort this issue. Came to the conclusion it was a possible memory leak as I use 2 sticks which were 3200mhz along side 2 others which are 3600mhz all together 32gb. So found out this was a big no no so I followed advice removed two 3200 and place the 3600 in A2 and B2 and reset the CMOS by holding metal over the two pins. Booted the pc tho my bios didn’t change at all. I continued set a XMP profile to 3600mhz. All was fine pc recognised the memory but the straight away my audio speaker cut out and my pc started to skip. Followed later by a complete freeze so restarted and tried to play a game (cod cold war) got a stutter after about 15 mins and noticed my cpu temps were really high which was unusual they were reaching 82c before the use to be like 65c max. But my corsair Icue was showing it at 40c so tied to update Icue but it was working at all so turned the pc off to check cables and all seems fine. And now Im here any suggestions?
