I'm looking for a Mechanical Keyboard to use mainly to type with as the keyboard I currently have is well trash. Ideally I would like one with Back lighting, as I work in the dark a lot, to be ergonomic, and with a wrist rest. I'm not against spending a lot but I would prefer to keep it under $100 usd. I don't know a lot about Mechanical Keyboards, but I've heard that they are really good for typing. Does anyone know a keyboard that would fit my needs well. Thanks ~Yakke

Hi, I just bought a Razer Blackwidow X Chroma and its my first ever mechanical keyboard and its great! I might need some time to adjust to the keyboard, since I am using it right now and its great :-) I actually originally wanted the Tournament Edition because it was TKL so I can have more space on my desk but that was very hard to find around in the stores so I bought this. It still is alot more compact and smaller than my old Razer Deathstalker Chroma which the Caps Lock key has broken, this Razer Blackwidow X Chroma actually feels lighter (I have Razer Green Switches, they actually feel very smooth compared to the other switches) than the old Rubber Dome Membrane on the Deathstalker Chroma. READ PLEASE VV Also, Please read, I have one question. My 0 Key on the Blackwidow Chroma works totally fine.. but it sounds like a Razer Orange or Yellow rather than the green, when I took the keycaps off the switch was green but it did not have the audible click, if so, very quiet indeed. It still has that tactile bump response when the key is registered thoug, so is this normal? Thanks

I have a Ducky Shine 3 which has been great for years. One of the LEDs (Number 3 above the "E" key) doesnt work anymore. The switch works though. I want to fix it, has anyone had any experience doing this? What parts should I be looking for before starting? ie do i need a new switch with an LED? or do I just need to replace the LED?

Anyone heard any information on the 12mm thick mechanical keyboard from Tesoro? I can't seem to find really any updates on it..

I need help finding a keyboard. I like the blue switches or click kind, and would prefer a volume wheel and wrist rest. I would be fine without those specifications, but they would be nice to have. I would like to have a black keyboard that can have RGB or back lighting for gaming if possible, but I can't find any that are good or worth their price. Any suggestions would be nice. Thank you.

Hey everyone, As the title suggests I'm looking for some orings for my keyboard. I saw some on amazon.ca for about $4. Which made me wonder if they are bad quality and I should just avoid them or something. Hence I'm wondering if anyone has bought orings and has any recommendations. Orings I saw on amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/120Pcs-Rubber-Dampeners-keyboard-Dampers/dp/B00VHXHP6Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480462842&sr=8-1&keywords=o+ring

Hi, I am looking for a new mechanical keyboard. I currently have a corsair k30 raptor, with rubber dome switches. Im going to get a new keyboard with cherry mx switches. I am undecided still on what switches I should get but I doubt that will influence my options. This keyboard should be RGB, with authentic cherry switches, be tenkeyless and must have a sturdy build. I am thinking about a Coolermaster Masterkeys Pro S. I just wanted to get other peoples' opinion on the options. Maybe I get a corsair k60; I'm not sure. I am looking for a durable and solid feeling keyboard. I am also probably going to mod it with translucent with ninja printing (side printing, not on the top of the key cap) and possibly installing o rings depending on the switch. Thank you for your input.

Hey all, I made this account to enter a giveaway but I just recently came up with a question I think would be most fitting for this group of nerds. Recently I got a job with a business services co-op as a scribe typing up financial dictations. The keyboards there are all generic Dell keyboards from probably like ten years ago. They have really flat keys, and a really complex macro system makes the importance of typing exactly the right key very pertinent. I asked the shift leads what they use, but I want to get input from here as well in regards to what keyboards I might want to look at. Some criteria I would prefer: - Price isn't an issue per se but I'm not made of money. - I don't need (or want) the board to be silent, but I also can't have it sound like the British are coming to my open office. - Something not flashy, i.e. no leet MLG LEDs and edgy gamer look ala most MSI hardware. I do want labeled keys and some LED is no problem. - No media buttons or programmable keys. No use for the former and the latter is strictly disallowed for privacy purposes. I saw that MX blue switches are good for typing, but I don't know a lot about mechanical keyboards. I'm planning on having this puppy for a long time and making daily use of it for hours a day. Uh sorry if this post is stupid or redundant or whatever, but suggestions would be really appreciated.

Hi everyone and Keyboard guru's especially! Due to some soda accident , I'm forced to search for my next keyboard. I've decided that it's time to switch to a mechanical (Finally got a reason), since I'm a software developer, and I'm typing A LOT! I've started searching the web, but to be honest, I can't find anything that answers all of my needs. So, in short: My keyboard requirements: Volume wheel Macro Keys MX Blue switches RGB? (Not a must, but would be nice) Currently, all I could find is the Corsair K95 RGB, which has the brown switches instead of the blue. So I thought maybe someone here knows any keyboards that can answer all of my needs? Thanks!

I want a keyboard in Cherry MX Blue, and I want it to be RGB. This was surprisingly hard to find a good one.The k70 is a blessed keyboard, the looks, the lights, the wrist wrest, the media keys, everything about it is sick. But they stopped making it on Cherry Mx Blue. But they brought back the Blues in the new K70 LUX, which I was so exicted about. But I have so many concerns about it.First of all, why are the Blues out of stock EVERYWHERE? On corsairs website, it is not on Amazon anymore, not on newegg anymore. WTFAnd so many people are complaining about the blue switches. How some of them dont click properly, and they are muchy. A bunch of people say the setting in period fixed it on a few days.I went to Canadacomputers and placed a back order, but after all the problems with the switches, I dont know if I should get it anymore. But I dont see any other options for Cherry MX Blue RGB.And how long will it take to some back in stock anywhere, but espicially at Canadacomputers? Are they even still making them in Blue? Because I have no problem finding the other switches.Thank you

I have heard about the RGB K70 series keyboards having lots of dead LEDs only a few months after use. I have heard this about the older models at least. I was wondering if this was still an issue with the rapidfire and the lux K70s or not? Also, is it worth buying one? I understand it is definitely in the range of the law of diminishing returns, but is the overall quality good? EDIT: Forgot to mention, would it be better to buy the strafe? It is still RGB and has reds, but it is slightly cheaper. Any problems with it?

I am an engineer, so I spend a lot of time at a computer programming and writing documents. I am looking to get a mechanical keyboard at work to replace the horrible rubber dome one that came with my computer. I have a Logitech G910 at home, my preference is towards switches with a tactile bump but not super clicky (so nothing like the MX Blues) as I don’t want to have a loud keyboard in the office. The main problem I am coming across is finding a decent mechanical keyboard without all the gimmicky gaming keyboard features. RGB LEDs and loads of macro keys are fine at home, but people would start asking questions at work why I am spending loads of money on OTT keyboards. However it does need: media keys, standard UK layout and a number pad. Preferably it should be available off Amazon because getting anything through ‘a non-approved supplier’ is a massive pain, and that is the only one with any decent choice. (I am aware of the code mechanical keyboard, but its not available on Amazon L - https://codekeyboards.com/)

Hey Guys!! My mum split some tea onto my Max Nighthawk X8 Cherry MX Brown Keyboard. Oddly enough USB can be recognised by the PC when plugged in. Also the microphone and Headphone extensions still work, from the Keyboard HUB. None of the Keys or Backlights turn on. I've opened up the keyboard, and kept it in front of a fan and even in a heated room for over 2-3 days, and still no positive result. - In exception to the above. So I'm in hunt for a new mechanical keyboard. My Needs are the following:- Back-lit Keys (Blue, White, Purple - Not Red). Cherry MX Red (Preferred) or Brown. Braided Cable - Wired. Numpad - Full 100% Keyboard Available in Australia. Around $200 max (give or take). (I'm steering away from MX Browns this time, to give the MX Red a shot). Let me know your thoughts, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a quandary I've been having. I think I've decided to spend what little pocket money I have (About $120, I'm 15) on a mechanical keyboard, as I'm getting tired of this $5 membrane one and I'd like to make an investment into something that will last a long time (THIS IS IMPORTANT). I'd like a mechanical keyboard with no backlighting, cherry mx blue key switches (preferably, unless another reliable switch is presented, one that I can use o-rings with), I would prefer a tenkeyless or a 60% sized board, and most importantly it needs to be very reliable. I don't want to have to buy another keyboard for a very long time. That's it! I have very little expectations of the aesthetics of whatever keyboard it is, and backlighting is not a priority at all, as I think it will only make my final purchase more expensive. Thanks!

Does anyone know of a mechanical ergonomic keyboard that didn't cost over $200? EDIT: I mean something like the keyboards in the attached images

o, I am cleaning my K70 with browns keyboard after almost 11 months of playing, and working with it. I want you to tell me how I should clean the keycaps so that that glossy finish from the oils of my hand go out. I was thinking of submerging it in water and soap, or water and isopropyl alcohol. What should I do? I would MUCH prefer to tell me a way to submerge all the keycaps in a solution for them to clean out. Best regards, Slanensis

I'm looking for a tenkeyless keyboard that doesn't have an Fn key that replaces the right super (windows) key or the menu key, so naturally it doesn't have any hotkeys. I just happen to be one of the minority who can live without a numpad, but can't live without a right super key AND a menu key, one of which are commonly replaced by an Fn modifier key. These keyboards are incredibly rare to find. Currently I'm rocking the Lenovo Preferred Pro keyboard, which is a vanilla office rubber dome keyboard. It's good, but I could use a tenkeyless to save some space and maybe upgrade to MX Browns while I'm at it. Space efficiency is key, so less bezel is better.

My Blackwidow X Chroma has a problem with the "left alt" key which just plain doesn't register(not just shortcuts not working, the key itself just doesn't register) on my PC. I have tried the following -Connecting to another PC(Mom's laptop, Dad's laptop and my Mac): All worked -Trying another keyboard on my PC: worked just fine-Reinstalling the core windows drivers from device manager: Didn't change anything-Reinstalling Razer software(Synapse and Cortex): To no avail-Cleaning out the key switch with warm water and letting it dry: did not changeIf anyone has any idea how to fix this, I'd appreciate your help. And it's a new keyboard too, have used it a month or two at most. The right alt key seems to register just fine but when i try to use the left alt it just seems to not be detected on this keyboard only, I tried another keyboard so i know that the problem is only on this specific keyboard. Trying on other computers means it's just my PC and that my keyboard works fine (Brace yourselves, "then you shouldn't have bought a razer product" people incoming"Specs(if it helps): I5 4690k 16GBs of RAM GTX 1070 strixrunning on windows 7 SP1

Before i buy a new keyboard, im wondering if theres still a chance fixing my keyboard.(Razer Blackwidow 2014).. The keys are still clickable and still has a crispy sound, i have no problem on clicking keys its not stuck or anything, the problem is it needs a lot of force for some keys to make the letter appear, i think the problem is inside. It still sounds fine and feels fine but some keys is so hard to make it appear.

So I have had my caviar blue for awhile now and it has done me well. However I fear it's end is fast approaching. I ran Western Digital's own diagnostic tool (extended test only) and that said everything was OK, but I know my hard drive has been feeling slow. So I ran crystaldiskmark: Like an idiot, I did not take a picture of my results, but I did record them. I also found this video to compare my numbers too, so I grabbed a screen from it: So the video says he tested a 1TB Western Digital Blue (assuming caviar?) 10EZEX with 1GB. I tested my own 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue 10EALX with 1GB. So with that information and my results, I created a table in excel comparing them: Now, I know my numbers are low, very low in some cases, what I do not know is if they are low enough to warrant me replacing the drive.

First of all, thank you very much for your attention. I'm having quite hard time finding a mechanical keyboard that satisfies some of my needs. What I'm looking for is: A mechanical keyboard, with... - Switches: Cherry MX Red or Brown. - Size: TenKeyLess. - Lighting: Preferably White or RGB. - Price: Around 100-130€ (approx. 116-150 US Dollars). - I LOVE the design of the Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S, and the Logitech G PRO, but I can't find any TKL keyboards with the following: - MAIN PROBLEM: Spanish (Spain) ISO Layout. I have found a German and an Italian variant of the Masterkeys Pro S, but no Spanish one. It would be ok for me to buy a German one and then buy some keycaps, the problem is that all I find is expensive keycaps, with ISO-UK layout. It would be ok for me to buy a ISO-ES set that costs 30-40€, or just the special accent, Ç and Ñ keys, but I just can't find them anywhere. Alternatively I would really like a keyboard, similar or identical to those mentioned above, but with native ISO-ES layout. If anyone can lend me a helping hand, I would be incredibly thankful. Thanks!

So I know this is a longshot, like a HUGE longshot, but is anyone offering a keyboard with linear mechanical switches that has individual backlit RGB keys, 18 (or somewhere around there) G/M-keys, and decent lighting/macro software? I'm assuming not. I want the old k95 but i can't get it new, only referbished, they have known issues with lights going out and problems with the g-keys, and the g-keys are on a seperate-looking plastic panel, instead of aluminum like the rest of the keyboard. If i can't find anything by the time I finish my next build I'll end up getting the old K95 anyway, because I do really need all the G-keys. What I REALLY want is for them to make a NEW K95 platinum that has 18 G-keys, that would be PERFECT. So if no one knows of anything else that can solve my problem then i'd like help in making a petition to Corsair for a new flagship keyboard.
