I've been wanting to build a Ryzen system for a good long while now. The only thing holding me back from pulling the proverbial trigger is a complete lack of Micro ATX X370 boards. Hell, I'd take a half decent B350 from ASUS, but none seem to exist. Are they working on it? I can't tell.

Hello guys, I am currently planning to build a pc for my parents. It generally doesn't need that much power so I am planning to build a mATX maybe even ITX PC. The main component I am currently looking for is a case. As the PC is going to be at a desk in the living room I want it to look awesome/stylish, but not "gamery" at all. Generally I really like the Enthoo Evolv mATX, but as my parents want to have an optical drive, I wont be able to use it. My question now is, do you know a similar case, or maybe even something entirely different that meets the following criteria? - is rather small (ITX, mATX) - has an optical drive bay - is not to old (has at least 2 USB 3.0 ports) - looks good in a living room (- preferably aluminium, TG, maybe even wood..) Or, do you maybe have a good idea for an external drive that might work well too? Thanks for your help

Just taking opinions to calm my overly excited expectations for this new case. Do you think dual 120mm fans can fit behind (right side) of the front fan bracket? So this new Inwin 301 case that I had my eyes on since CES 2017, should be coming out soon but I just cant grasp the idea how small this case can be. I was really hoping other tech utubers to review the new mATX form factor case Inwin 301, but I can't seem to land any besides HardwareCannucks. I'm asking people's opinion because I plan on moving my build over to this case. However, I have a NZXT x52 AIO liquid cooler that I plan to put onto the front bracket AND I have 1080 Strix card, which is pretty f***ing long. Just based on HardwareCannucks' review, Dmitry did have the x52 aio but he had the fans and the rad on left side of the front bracket. Based on the video (I watched it at least 8 times), it seems like the front bracket is removable. So do I have any hope for this case, or am I just going to be let down and be pushed over to Define Mini C? Thanks

Hi Volks! I'm currently planning my first build and the last part that is unclear is the motherboard. Important parts (for the purpose of this thread) are: MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G Corsair Vengeance LED Tes 16GB Corsair H100i v2 So these are all the "shiny" parts. I'm fine with sticking to black and red, so RGB ist mit my worry, although lighting effects are. And that's where the motherboard comes in. I like the features of the ASUS ROG Strix z270g with my single worry being that I won't be able to synchronise the lighting effects of all components, like breathing for example. My alternative would be the MSI z270m Mortar, although the lack of USB 3.1 gen2, WiFi and dual M.2 is a downer. Now, do you have any experience or knowledge how Asus aura is compatible with MSI and Corsair parts and with board do you think would be the better pick? I hope I have stated my problem clear enough. Thank you to all in advance!

So, I've been running an FX-8350 build for a while, finally died on me. I use my PC for everything. Some gaming, when I have time, but also coding, photo-editing, I am thinking of dabbling in 3D animation at some point. Here is what I have so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/db2vFd For the motherboard, I am not sold on the LED lighting, never been a fan, but I am not getting a case with a window anyway. Is there a better mATX board I should be looking at? I want 32GB of RAM just to be future proof. I know it's overkill for now, but that may change. I was less sure on compatibility and speeds though. I remember just enough about the Ryzen launch to know there were a lot of RAM issues, I think most of them have been ironed out. I chose that kit because it was the more affordable 2x16GB kits that specifically mentioned being made for Ryzen that I could find. As for the cooler, I've only used air coolers before. Don't really know what to look for in one, so I picked one that was from a brand I knew about and specifically mentions AM4. I can cannibalize storage, PSU and graphics card from my existing rig (until Vega comes out). Anything I am missing?

Hi all! I've been searching for a while, and I'm curious if anyone knows of a good mATX case that has decent options for cable management? Sub-$100 price range would be good. Thanks!

I've been on planning on building a new machine with some future proof. Primary goal is to game The last time I built my own rig; the motto was to go big or go home. It was the beginning of a new revolution with DX10 and Quad core computing, and overclocking was the supreme for bragging rights. But today I see someone can build a new PC without breaking the bank. I have some questions regarding today's performance of hardware vs the games we play. I have zero interest in overclocking, I'm looking for stability here. I plan on using an M.2. Drive for OS, 4tb Mechanical for games and data. I also want to take advantage of the Optane when it gets released (Unless there is other options out there that I do not know about). Questions: Is the Intel 7700k overkill for today's games or is this the cpu that we all want in their machine. 16gb Ram vs 32gb Ram. Do I really need 32gb Ram or is 16gb Suffice. Motherboard selection; Can I get the same performance out of an ITX board as to an ATX board? or is ATX the final solution. Also looking for a 4k monitor that is 144hz? (Do they even exist?).

Hey, i've been considering swapping out my 5820k or possibly literally swapping hardware with someone else for a 7700k with a itx motherboard, since i want to move to a smaller form factor. What do you guys think of this choice? The reasoning for not getting the 1 and only itx x99 board is that it's not available im my country anymore. Do you think it's worth it performance wise or will i be sacrificing a lot of performance?

Hi, all I am building a new computer for a friend and he specified that he wants to go for m-ATX for space and cost saving. I would like your recommendation on m-ATX cases that meet the following requirements: Air cooling performance first, then water cooling capability (the furthest he'll go will be AIO cooler, no need for reservoirs and stuff) Compact enough without unnecessary room left behind (hence my point about the water cooling capability From manufacturers widely available - Currently living in Singapore. The brands commonly available are: Corsair CoolerMaster Fractal Design Thermaltake NZXT Phanteks Silverstone Tecware Thanks in advance!

Hi all! I'm building a computer for gaming (Overwatch, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Mass Effect: Andromeda) and some coding work (webcoding, so that doesn't really impact the components.) Part List: CPU: i5-7500 Mobo: MSI B250M-Pro VD (mATX board) GPU: (will purchase later, when I have the funds) EVGA GTX 1060 (6 gb) or RX 580 (8 gb) RAM: 8 gigs Kingston HyperXFury Black (DDR4 2133mhz) SSD: 120 gig Kingston SSDNow UV400 HDD: Old Seagate drive I have lying around. Case: Thermaltake VERSA H15 Micro ATX PSU: 650W EVGA SuperNova GOLD WiFi (necessary because of the computer's location in my home): TP-Link AC1300 Archer T6E My budget is pretty set around this range ($750/$800 in total), and I'd like not to go over. I'm looking for any recommendations on similar parts! Thanks!

I'm trying to find an mATX motherboard that will support a 7th gen Pentium straight out of the box without a BIOS update, because I don't have a Skylake chip lying around to run a BIOS update with. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

TL;DR: I need a small case (detaills at point 7). 1. Budget & Location Strictly less or equal than €800. €650 ($US 688.54, $CAD 931.55, $AUD 925) for the PC. Spain. 2. Aim Gaming, light software development and general tasks. I primarily aimed towards gaming on 1080p 60FPS at least at medium settings. Games that I'm interested in are Battlefield 1, Titan Fall 2, The Division, (I think this is enough to understand what types of games I want to run on this build), and some other games which are less demanding, I think (Overwatch, CS:GO, WoT, WoWs...). I researched different types of mid-range GPUs, and RX470 looks promising (high setting 1080p 80FPS on BF1). 3. Monitors 1 monitor. No plan to add more. 1920 x 1080. 4. Peripherals The remaining €150 will be for keyboard, monitor and some other stuff that I don't know right now, like cables, cooling stuff, thermal paste... I don't need OS. 5. Why are you upgrading? The main purpose of this build is to upgrade from my 4 years old MSI GE60 laptop to a nice small desktop with a lifespan of 5 to 6 years. 6. Planned parts PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RxkFKZ Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RxkFKZ/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 2.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($174.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: Asus H110M-D Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($57.45 @ Jet) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($48.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Asus Radeon RX 470 4GB STRIX Video Card ($191.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($46.99 @ OutletPC) Total: $520.31 7. Stuff that I need help First, a easy one, is this build optimal for the budget? Now my real question: I don't have much room for a desktop, so I'm looking for a compact case, mATX one. I've 2 candidates: HIDITEC SLM20 (330 x 430 x 100mm) and TACENS ORUM III (427 x 300 x 100 mm). I think it might fit, but I'm not sure. I would like to know if my build fits in these cases. Any other suggestion is nice. May use PCI riser for GPU. If it's too complicated, I might switch to a relatively small ATX size. Any suggestion is also nice. Should I add a CPU cooler or the stock one is enough? About monitor: BENQ GL2250 looks nice, opinion? 8. Additional stuff Here there are a couple of deals, Gigabyte H110M-Gaming 3 and MSI RX470 8GB, at almost same price as above. Recommended do get them? Thanks

Hi guys, I had made a post asking for motherboard suggestion for 6700k in the New Builds and Planning section but seems no one answer it. Long story short. There are only 5 MATX motherboard available in my area ASUS Z170M-PLUS Z170 (seems only have 4 USB in rear IO???) ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Z170 (very expensive) GIGABYTE GA-Z170M-D3H (just not familiar, cheapest in some store) ASRock Z170M Pro4 Z170 (just not familiar, cheapest in some store) MSI Z170M MORTAR Z170 (currently using an MSI one but this seems not having good review) Which one should I choose? I may only OC a little but mostly not. Want to have solid Ethernet, good audio quality, enough IO and most importantly solid and stable build so future hardware upgrade will not be so difficult. (Have experienced motherboard issue when I upgrade my GPU using my current mobo)

Just asking which would be better. Does the 88R have good cable management? I like the design of the m2, but the 88r is cheaper. I could go either way, but are there any pros that the other case doesn't have, or cons of either case?

Hey all! I want to upgrade my girlfriend's system from the fm2+ (no, not an apu) to ryzen (partially in part because I want to tinker with it ><). already have the r3 1200 in line for here and a crucial 3200 8gb ram. Anyone care to share experiences or recommendations? I am mainly looking at Amazon due to location//do not want to buy from big box stores. Budget is around $300 (+/- $20). Also welcome to suggestions to other parts if it does NOT go over said price// can be bought on amazon with prime.

I was comparing GA-AB350M-D3H(m-atx) and GA-AB350-Gaming(atx) motherboards in the Gigabyte site, and the only difference was the number of PCI-E slots other than the obvious size difference. My question is; are all those slots really necessary? I do think using the system as a tool for learning about servers and stuff after it retires, but I doubt if I'll ever need those extra PCI-E slots even in that case. So I'm thinking of going for an m-atx board and save about $10 dollars. Is it a good choice for me?

Hi guys, I'm currently waiting for my new pc parts to be shipped to me. I'm going for a nee ryzen 3 budget build. I already bought all my parts, except for the case. I'm new to microATX build so I don't know much about these case. Here I will put some of my conditions and I'll ask you to recommend me some of the best microATX case that would fit my needs ! - Want to get the most of my r3, so will try to overclock it to the max, for it, I'll need the temperature to stay low, so I need a case with really good airflow - In addition to the first point, this is a budget build so there won't be any watercooling, AIO either, I'll keep the AMD wraith stealth cooler included. - I know this was overused in the past, but due to the parts I bought, the colour scheme will be Black and Red. - My budget is roughly 100$CAD (taxes included and shipped) I have selected 3 cases here on Newegg and would like to have your toughts on these. (view the picture attached) * Sorry for my english, this is my 2nd language ** You can tell me every cases you want, the 3 in the pictures are juste some I found and tought looks nice ( it happens they are all cube style but it is not a condition for me, I jound find them stylish) If you think is would be better to build in an ATX case for better airflow or blabla you can tell me also (I find smaller case more beautifull but I could change idea) Thanks for your answers, very appreciated.

Hello guys! I am going to try an mATX SLI build with two MSI GTX 960 4gb and I would be using the MSI z97m Gaming board. I was wondering what are the temperatures of the GPUs in this setup if ever anyone has ever tried this or anyone who has ever tried an mATX SLI setup. I was also wondering if the SLI would fit a case which is only 4 slots for the gpu. Do you guys think this would fit? People suggested that I would rather have a midtower case with many slots but i'm really just planning on a not so big build. One choice I have is the Tecware F3 Full Acrylic and i am not sure if the SLI setup would fit. Do you guys have any suggestions on what budget case should I choose for this setup? Thanks guys! Your suggestions are highly appreciated!

Is there any case specifically a micro atx case with vertical PCI slots (at least two) and preferentially a clear side panel? I can't seem to find any.. Thank you in advance.

So, I currently have a full size case and I don't have enough room for it. For a new case I would prefer to keep it from overheating, although I don't plan on OC'ing anytime soon. I want something small enough to take to LAN parties pretty easily, and ones that either come with a handle, or have a strong enough roof so I can install one. I currently am running a mATX motherboard, 120mm high cooler for my i5 6600k, and a 1070 at a little less than 250mm, also full size PSU. I am not insanely rich either... "plz no 100+ dollors"

I'm looking into planning for my next build, which is going to be somewhere in the not so distant future (likely early 2018). But I've decided to move away from mini-ITX since its main appeal no longer feels suited for my requirements and if I'm going to go any bigger than what I currently have, I may as well bump it up to mATX. But not ATX, because that's just too big for me. So the only requirements I have are: mATX tower form factor. I want something that requires as little floor space as possible. So those cube cases are out. Side panel window. I don't care if it's acrylic or glass And a "nice to have": Easy to access fan filters. I've narrowed the options to four cases, so if you have one of these I'd like to know what your thoughts are. So, I am considering building my first mATX computer with Ryzen 3 and a B350 chipset, and had some questions about built in wi-fi. Is built in wi-fi a thing for mATX motherboards? I see all kinds of ATX and mini-ITX motherboards with built-in wifi, but not any mATX? I'm super confused as to why I can't find any. Is this just a Ryzen thing? Would I be better off just buying a separate pcie wifi card anyway?

Hi everybody, Really excited to be building my first rig from the ground up but, as expected, I have hit a snag. I'm attempting to water-cool both my CPU and GPU using the EK Fluid Gaming A240G (aluminium kit). Unfortunately, due to the small form factor size of the Phanteks Evolv mATX case that I'm using, I'm struggling to find a location for the pump/reservoir combo that either isn't in the way of the RAM or GPU block or that forces me to bend the tubing to such an extent that it kinks. Has anyone out there built a similar rig? Any feedback and tips would be appreciated regardless!

BitFenix Prodigy M Space.Configuration Help
Beckyisponymad posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
So Im tempted to move down from a large ATX case (H440) to an M Atx case, I already have M atx motherboard however even with all the info online im struggling to wrap my head around the space and configuration inside the case. Firstly I would like a water cooler preferably an NZXT kraken x51/52 (however I have a feeling the tubing is too long so if anyone has an RGB software controlled watercooler lmk). Is there anywhere one can be mounted. Secondly GPU clearance, I have the asus 1070 strix OC, would this fit? Thirdly, I see the case takes a full atx psu but can sfx psus be used to save space? And also the drive mounting bracket looks like it can be removed but can it as Id want to get a window side pannel and if removed is there anywhere to install 2.5 SSDs or is m.2 needed? To anyone answering any of these questions THANKS Edit: water cooler doesnt have to RGB as long as it looked nice
