I found a neat CPU on ebay, an Intel Xeon E7-8880 v3. On Intel Ark it says this CPU is compatible with an FCLGA2011 socket. So with the help of Google I tried to find a mainboard, which is compatible with this CPU. As it is a server CPU, I tried looking for a mainboard that specifically lists it as compatible in order to be sure it would work. However, I was unable to find one. Does anyone here know which mainboard would be compatible with this CPU (ideally something consumer-like with one socket) or how and where to efficiently look for that? Best regards El_Brodini

Mystic Light won´t detect my motherboard so i can´t change the color it´s always red. I tried dragon center but it didn´t work. Now I am using MSI Center and it won´t work. Thanks for your help !

Hey fellow PC-nerds, After running for over a year without any problem, and a lot of up-time (CORONA) my PC just gave up working completely. A few months again I could not start up my PC, tried everything, no success, changed some things and though the error was found. Fast forwars to now the error was never sorted out in the first place. Maybe someone can help me or had somthing similar before. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 3950x Ram: G.Skill TridenT Z Red 32GB CL14-3200 (2x16) Crucial 8GB 2400 MT/s (2x4) MOBO: Asus Rog Strix x570-E (newest BIOS-Version) MSI B450M Pro-M2 Max (stock BIOS-Version) Gigabyte x570 AORUS Ultra (stock BIOS-Version) GPU: Rog Strix GTX 1080TI PSU: Corsair RM850x M.2: Sabrent Rocket Q 2TB OS: Windows 10 64bit Issue: So.. The issue started about 2 months ago, when the PC won't boot anymore. DRAM-LED was light up, so initially I thought the RAM was defect. Tried different slots, nothing. I also had another RAM laying around, still no success. Then I tried switching to a different PSU, same result. So i thought it could be the mainboard. So I ordered a cheap one. After a few days a new Mainboard (MOBO 2) arrived, switch everything to the new one, baaam instand BOOT-UP everything was working fine. So at this point I was sure ... OK Motherboard. So I send in the "defect" motherboard. The other board was working since then....... 2 Months in the future.... Motherboard (MOBO 1) came back with the message from ASUS, "ERROR could not be replicated", no further action was taken. I already had a strange feeling about this. So, tried one more time switching back to MOBO 1 no success. So I though "OK maybe ASUS support are just idiots" and i ordered another board, this time from Gigabyte (wanted to ordered this one for quite some time either way). So the new board arrived, but everything together, same Error (DRAM-LED) and I couldn't even get into the BIOS. The only difference between the three boards is that the cheap one from MSI has only 2 DIMM-Slots (still in DUAL-Channel), the other two boards have 4 DIMMS. So now I am thinking it must be the CPU, or could there be another problem with something I am not thinking about alltogether. I hoper someone has any advice before I turn completely crazy and start sending in every single remaining bit of my PC. LG CleZ

Hey guys, I build myself a new PC with following specs: Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B550 PLUS CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 1060 6GB RAM: 4x8GB 3600MHz G.Skill SSD: Samsung EVO 500GB NVMe PSU: Corsair RM850 I updated the BIOS to Version 1401. After that the PC bootet, I tried to install Windows but after the necessary reboot I won't get any video output. Not even BIOS. I tried HDMI, DisplayPort also my old ASUS Strix GTX 970 but nothing. CMOS reset also didn’t helped. Debug LED also is useless. Do you have any idea? Googling and asking all my friends with ASUS Motherboards didn’t helped either.

So I sold my 1080, because I am waiting to buy a 3070, and thought: I'll just use the HDMI output of my MSI Z170 M5 Motherboard until I get my new graphics card. I'll just not play any demanding games until then, I have a i7 6700K CPU and there are many PCs without dedicated GPUs - should be no problem, right? But I was wrong: I boot up the first time and the login screen just looks weird - a quick glance at the resolution in settings shows that its something like 700 by 1000 and I can't change that (it's greyed out). After a reboot and searching the bios for some settings didn't help, I'm at the end of my computer Latin (a proverb, possibly didn't translate well). So can you please help me - Is there anything I can do (besides just buying my 3070 now at inflated prices) Thanks a lot in advance, Clemens -
So, I built a new PC after my old PC broke down, and it does post. The problem however is, that the intake fan which is connected to the SYS_FAN_2 header doesn't spin. the other fan does spin (connected to the SYS_FAN_1 header). When I switch the connections, (in -> fan_1, ex -> fan_2) the intake fan spins, the exhaust fan doesn't. ==> The one connected to SYS_FAN_1 works, the one connected to SYS_FAN_2 doesn't. Also the BIOS doesn't show the fan connected at SYS_FAN_2. This to me pointed towards a faulty header at first, but I got a replacement from the vendor and it has the same problem. I made a bios update to the most recent version. Is this a known problem with this mainboard or do I have very bad luck getting 2 faulty ones in a row? Or is there a BIOS-setting I didn't see? If it's a known problem: Do you have recommendations for another mainboard at around the same price tag? The specs I think are important are: Mainboard: Gigabye x570 Aorus Elite (BIOS version F31, latest) CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (with the included boxed cooler) BeQuiet Dark Power Pro (750W 80+ gold) BeQuiet Pure Base 500 (with included Fans) The other specs, if I forgot something: OS: Windows 10 Ultimate 64 bit 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM (3200MHz XMP profile 1) Some GeForce GTX 750 TI (forgot the integrator tbh) Samsung 970 EVO 500 GB boot drive 3 SanDisk SSDs and 2 HDDs Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi guys, I was refilling my waterloop a couple of days ago. Everything was right so far and no water touched the electronics. When loading my OC profile back in, my pc went off and a sneaky beaky waterdrop, sitting right below the cooler was hopping onto the Mainboard like a killer ninja destroying a psu. Contacting Asus did result in some: "Go look on ebay... Maybe you´ll find a guy selling some parts from his mainboard! " Asking for the schematics or a bill of materials just got blocked of.. OK well... I understand that... I´m working as an PCB-Designer in a small company, so I´m pretty familiar with mainboards n stuff, but I dont´t know what kind of PSU is that, sitting right below the CPU (shown in picture)... I guess it is some kind of IO-Driver PSU for the PCIe and chipset lanes? I know, I could just get a new Mainboard on ebay for cheap, but I really put some time into that one, making it the way i want it. I.e. I cut down the socket to get the delid die guard installed on the 8700k; I have done some mods to the Vcore-PSUs; and I removed all the rgb stuff (don´t blame me! I don´t like rgb flashing around next to me while I´m working, thats all) What I´m looking for here is to gather some information about the layout of those boards, to get a better understanding of what might be potentially broken right now. You know... Its always better to know what you want to fix before u try to fix it... I already ordered a new board to use it as a source for replacement parts. Kind regards, Alex

im looking for a mobo that suits it supports atleast 2666mhz ram minimum 16gb ram capacity or more atleast 4 SATA ports and 1 M.2 2280 or 1 PCIe 3.0 x4 port minimum 1 PCIe 3.0 x16 port (for the gpu but ofcourse it needs one) rgb is optional but i dont like it should be enough, thank you to whoever replies also (assuming its not shitpost lol) -
I wanna buy the Samsung 980 PRO 500GB for my MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX but I dont know if there are diffrent sizes or something like that like the CPU sockets. Can I buy the M.2 SSD without any concerns? -

I know, it's a hard question and it depends on what I need. What I want and what I need: Zen 3 (around the specs/ price of a Ryzen 7 3800X or something), so only B550 or X570 are an option. Mainly gaming, maybe some little cinema 4d stuff, but not much. No overclocking, some rgb and an AIO NZXT Kraken X73. Also I want to go for pcie gen 4 for the future. GPU if this matters RTX 3070 or 3080, not sure yet. Important for me: At least 2x m.2 slots with one of them pcie 4. Also, the design somewhats matters to me when I spend so much money on a new pc, I don't want it to look like some garbage 50€ board like some msi's do. First my price range was up to 150-200€. Then I looked around and found out that I pretty much need a X570 for a good board. Is that correct? What are the differences to B550? I found the Asus Prime X570 Pro and I'am really happy with it. But unfortunately it's white and won't fit my system at all. So I thought a good alternative to stay with asus would be a Rog Strix X570 F or E. I don't really need WLAN, but the 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth are something I could need sometimes and I heared that it has better power coverage (if thats what it's called in english) What do you think of this board? It's way ahead of my budget, and the more I research, the more I go up in price. 270€ is somewhat ok, but if thats overkill, I don't really want to spend that much. Thank you very much for your help.

I just swapped my mainboard to a new mainboard because the old mainboad is broken after i tested it in another machine, my old mainboard is B550M DS3H and i swapped it with A320M-S2H. Everything worked fine then i tried to update the bios to F32 so i could update it to the latest version. Then after the update process was finished it reboot itself, then after the reboot there was no Post and my VGA fan won't spin. I dont even know if the VGA is working fine in the new board or not, but i do know that it was working fine before the update. I already tried to clear the CMOS by jumping it or removing the batteries but theres no change after doing that for few times. I dont know what to do now, if it wasnt working for a week i probably will try to get my warranty. Hello user, i have some trouble with my setup, yesterday my pc crashed out of nothing and after a restart it didn't recognise my nvme's anymore. Of course i started google up and searched through some forums, but without success so i'm writing here. Before the final bluescreenm (CRASHCODE: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED), came some other, I was like ignoring them away, but however, my problem now is, that my bios and linux, doesn't recognise my nvme's anymore, When I use an adapter (PCIe x16 slot) the bios recognises the nvme's but they are not bootable. I updated the bios per flash drive and tried to reinstall windows per usb, the installer setup doesn't recognise the drives either. I mentioned 2 ssd's, one of them I bought after the crash, to check if the storage was broken. It seems that it isn't. I'm writing here in hope, that the mainboard isn't broken. My mainboard: ASUS B550-XE Gaming WIFI My drives: SN750 WD_BLACK; SN850 WD_BLACK; I appreciate every kind of help and ideas. Thank you!

Recently I put together a new build with a 5600x and a budget B550 motherboard, namely a Biostar B550MH. Whenever the CPU is under load and boosts for a couple of seconds, the clocks go all the way down to as little as 500Mhz. This doesn't just happen in synthetic loads like benchmarks or stress tests but also in games (though it takes a bit longer for the frequencies to drop). Setting the power mode to "eco" helps extend the usable time a bit further as well, but I can get at most 10-15 minutes of playtime before the system locks up due to the extreme clock drops. After googling a bit I found that other people have similar issues so I'm assuming the board just uses bad VRMs in general. Is there anything I can do to alleviate this beside trying to limit the CPU's frequency? Perhaps using heatsinks or a downdraft cooler? Unfortunately the store refused to let me return it due to "physical damage to the board" (i.e. a small scratch at the side of the board from installing it in my small case). If anyone has experience with this kinda stuff, please let me know.

Hey there! I have a question about whether or not it is possible to throw two GPUs from different manufacturers into one PC? I don't want to run it in AMD Crossfire or Nvidia SLI mode, i just want to use them for different tasks. Why? You might ask... that's a easy one, i have the option to buy a RX 590 for cheap, and i have use for it (running a render while gaming or passing it through to a virtual machine). I assume i need both drivers, but is there anything i need to pay attention to, if it is possible to run the computer at the first place? Thanks in advance!

Budget (including currency): 2000-2500€ Country: Austria/Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: eSport titles & AAA-Games Other details: I am currently using an i7-4790, a GTX 970 and 16 GB DRR3 1600MHz RAM (some Medion prebuild), which is probably ready for the trashcan after the upgrade. Since summer, I desperately wait for the upcoming AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800X3D, and I will do everything in my hands to get one of these. Besides the CPU, I would see myself in getting a Corsair 5000d airflow, but if you can't recommend it for that price, I would be fine with a 4000d airflow or something similar. I am mainly struggling with finding a fitting main board, RAM and GPU. I could see myself in taking the time to snipe an RTX 3080, but would you say the 12 GB version is worth the effort, or are the 10 GB versions enough. I already got 2x 1TB M.2 SSDs, so no need to buy more storage. Currently, I am playing 1080p 144 Hz, however, I wouldn't be unwilling to switch to 1440p in the future. Hey guys, I recently got my hands on an s5520hc setup with dual x5690 Xeons for a good price. I plan to use it for some visualisation experiments. I successfully build the system and upgraded BIOS etc. to the newest software. But the system is schowwing an error, the CPU0 Fan check LED is glowing ember, I assume that means that there's a Problem with the cpu0 fan. I checked in Windows and the fanspeed is normally showing up. There are also no thermal problems. As an result of that error the fans are spinning at full throttle, and thats pretty annoying in the livingroom. Do you guys have any suggestions or solutions for this problem? My config: Mainboard: Intel s5520hc bios version: R0069 cpu: 2x Xeon X5690 Ram: 96gb Fans: 6 case fans, 2 CPU fans psu: Sharkoon WPM Gold Zero 750w with two 8 pin eps connectors gpu: gt730s

I was playing on my DJ Deck which is connected via USB-C to USB-C to my PC's MB on the back. After a couple of days I tried to plug it in again and its not lighting up anymore. I already looked over the Windows USB selective suspend setting but I couldnt fix it like that. If I connect my phone with the cable it charges rapidly and windows detects it so the port is active but its not giving out enough power for the Deck to run. Is there maybe a setting that I can change in the BIOS? I updated my PC inbetween the last use and now I think it changed something. I have a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX on Windows 10 The deck works on my work laptop so I am sure that neither the deck or the USB-C cable is borken. Thanks in advance

Hi Everyone, I just upgraded my PC, new MB (X670E TUF PLUS), CPU (7600X) and RAM (Dominator Platinum 6000 EXPO II). After that I tweaked the CPUs PBO Settings and tested it for Stability. Everything seems to work and Performance is in line with the hardware. The only "Problem" is that the MB starts to beep 1x every ~11s after being ~30s in Windows. AMI BIOS code says it should be DRAM refresh failure but I don't thinks thats the problem here since PC works normal. I already ran Memtest with 2048MB till 100% with 0 Errors. Maybe someone knows how to fix this. Thanks in advance.

Well im running at a bottleneck at the moment. I knew from the beginning that I need a new CPU and Mainboard sooner or later, but now it is the time to think about it and maybe i can find some good deals. I was thinking about an AMD Build with the new 7700x because they are going to support AM5 for the next few years. Im not sure if I should go for it or give intel a try but at the moment I think AMD is the way to go. I was looking around to find some Mainboards talked to some people and the answer was always the same. I should wait for a Mainboard with PCI 5.0 to be affordable. At the moment the lowest PCI 5.0 MB is around 400€ in germany. With DDR5 and CPU I would be somewhere around 800-900€. Im not that informed about the new DDR5, new CPUs and new Mainboards. So it would be great if you could give me some help about my problem... Should I wait? Go for intel and DDR4? And if you think the new Mainboards are good what DDR5 Ram should I use? 6000Mhz or 5600Mhz and which CL. Thanks for your help and have a great evening guys! EDIT: And also do you have any suggestions for a new case? I always had small and annoying cases where my Aio didnt fit or anything else. A nice big case around 100-150€ would be great!
