After watching Colton on the ShortCircuit video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgZvVLuWGxU I ended up purchasing the Mavix M9 at their website on Feb 20th. They took payment via visa card and a rep was quick to email about shipping fees outside of the US which I agreed to. Payment for shipping fees was taken. I emailed the rep back a week later and used the Contact Us webform as I noticed the order was stuck at processing, so I wanted to check if there was a delay or something. No answer. I went onto their discord in the help channel and indicated I had purchased and that the order was stuck at processing. No interaction. I also noticed other users on the same discord mention no response from emails etc. On twitter I see influencers and youtubers receiving these chairs but not ordinary customers. So I feel a number of red flags have been raised now and am beginning to worry that I was scammed.

So I'm in the market for a new phone in the £200/$250 region (happy with HQ second hand or new condition) and have since narrowed my search down to two phones: The HTC One M9 And the LG G4. The LG G4 is a better speced phone, from what my research has uncovered, as well as having a better, bigger screen and a far superior camera from some shoot outs I saw. But the HTC is a more sexy phone, I think, with a really nice design and better front facing speakers, as well as being a slightly smaller phone which is a bonus for me. I can't decide and want to hear anyone who reads this's opinion on the matter, or if I've missed an obviously better phone at this mark, which is well possible as this is my first android buy, coming from Apple. Cheers, Xvantok. Note: The back options on the LG are irrelevant to me as I will just probably put a wrap on which ever phone I get.

Dear forum members, I'm going to buy an HTC ONE M9 in the next couple days. I wanted to buy an awesome skin from dbrand and then put a transparent case on that for protection. Does it look as amazing as w/o the case and the skin only ? Did someone have done this ? Should I go with a hard case or a TPE one ? I'm looking forward to your answers.

I don't know how this HTC vs Apple is gonna end up. While Apple filed a lawsuit on Samsung for copying their design, their devices were not something close to Apple's devices. Now HTC's A9 is ultimately looking like an iPhone 6/6s. HTC’s president of North Asia Jack Tong thinks it’s a combination. “We’re not copying,” he said recently, according to WantChinaTimes. “It’s Apple that copies us in terms of the antenna design on the back,” Tony added, referring to the One M7 design introduced two years ago. The A9 is made thinner and more lightweight than our previous metal-clad phones. This is a change and evolution, and we’re not copying.” Source: WANTCHINATIMES

So i'm still in the planning of my first ever build. I was wondering if what I had planned for air cooling would be a-ok. The case i'll be using is a Corsair 300R with a 970. I'll be cooling a 4690k CPU with a Hyper 212 EVO which i'm planning to have pull air out the back of the case and have the fan that comes in the back of the case up top pulling air out the top. The case also comes with a front panel fan which I would leave there and then place an extra fan on the side panel. So technically I would have air being pulled out the back of the case with the EVO and out top with another fan then have a fan in the front and on the side panel blowing air in. my planned build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TpGmZL (some parts are missing because they are already bought)

Ahh HTC, just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse for your company, it does. HTCs been on the brink for years, the M7 saved their bacon as being one of the first Android devices worth owning, but their bumbling of their finances and future releases has brought them right back to where they were at the tail end of the Windows Phone 6.5 days - staring down probable ruin. I'd say I wish them a speedy recovery, but not really. They've screwed themselves over far too often. They deserve it, IMHO. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-06-08/htc-drops-to-decade-low-after-cutting-quarterly-sales-forecast http://bgr.com/2015/06/11/htc-one-m9-sales-share-price/

If you're wondering who and what DxO is, they are a testing body who look at the objective side of things when it comes to camera perforce. None of the "it looks good", just a raw analysis of the hardware and how it performs, usually in studio/ideal conditions, to see just what good the tech underneath really is. And for the HTC One M9? The tech is kinda shitty. I mean, when you aren't even beating a 4S in objective tests designed to see where your sensors and software excel/fail...that kinda says it all doesn't it? It seems that the HTC One needs a software boost before it needs a sensor boost, given how the sensor itself isn't actually bad at all, which is frustrating given all the things HTC has been doing that they screwed the pooch on the camera software along with all the other hardware related mistakes of the One M9. Android users have no fear however, the Note 4, S6 and G4 are all stellar shooters with very robust software to complement their sensors to give you a great shooting experience. http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/HTC-One-M9-Review-M8-s-successor-on-DxOMark/HTC-One-M9-Imaging-Results

NCIX: http://bit.ly/1EYzkk6 Amazon: http://geni.us/29ge Has the HTC One once again delivered a game changer to the smartphone market with the M9 as they did with the M7? Or is this new phone a step in the wrong direction...

Hi guys! This is not a detailed review. Rather, it is more like my view on the Dot View case after 3 weeks of continuous usage. For those who's interested on the overview of the case. Please go to YouTube and watch MKBHD's overview here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ircZoqveuA I personally got pumped and bought the Dot view case because of the generally positive review of the video. Let me say this first. It was cool and all good at first, but I started to see some issues and potential problem for the future. These points are not included in the video from MKBHD The Good part I like to play Spotify music when I drive. I noticed that when you close the case while playing music, you can control the music without opening the case by swiping right or left and swiping up and down to pause or play the music. Also, after you pick up the call, you can swipe up to get into speaker mode and swipe down to exist speaker mode. When the phone is in idle and no notification. Double tap to wake the phone and wait for about 1-2 seconds, it will show you your most recent call history. You can call from there by swiping up on the left side of the name of the contact. The Bad part The dot view (when the case is close) is literally not useable under sun light. You can't see anything. NOTHING. One hand use becomes very hard. Because the way the hinge works, it wants to close the case every moment. You literally have to use your fingers to intentionally hold on to the case door. However, I do understand that a case with a door (not even sure if that's what you call it) would certainly make one hand use a little harder. But this is just way too annoying even compare to other case with a door. Hinge becomes weaker and weaker. The hinge was very strong at first. It closes firmly when you releases the door. But only after 3 weeks, I can tell that it doesn't close as firmly as before. When I hold my phone and tilt it a little, I can see the door opens slightly. Also about the weak hinge. The essential function for a case is to protect the phone right? I once dropped my phone, it wasn't facing down at first, but it bounces after it hit the floor and flipped. During the flipping, the door opened and It turned out to face down and hit the floor a little bit without the protection of the door. There was no screen scratches or anything, however, there was a little scratch right next to the top speaker grill. I did a few other test drops on the carpet and found that if the phone was facing down in the first place, the door WILL open and result in a direct hit to the screen. It can be worse then you would think. You might think that any phone with a regular case facing down is going to scratch. However, regular cases often has a bump that raises above your phone's flat level to protect it from face down drops. The dot view case doesn't have that. The back is clear and it is extremely easy to scratch on. I even thought if I had forgotten to take off the plastic film. Before ever dropping it on the floor, it was scratched by something I don't know. I put my phones on my right pocket without any other stuff. Key scratching would not be the issue here. It gets awkward when putting your phone into your pocket. Because the door's material, when you pull your phone, you would pull your pocket out too. It's sort of sticky and it gets your pocket all stick up to it. I don't really know how to explain it. Your screen would get this door-print. You know how finger print works right? When you close and open the case, you'll see the dot-patterned door's "fingerprint" on your phone. It's not a huge issue though. Okay. Overall, I thought the case was pretty cool but I'm planning to get a new case to replace this annoying case now.

The One M9 Review Part II at AnandTech Goes Really Bad for HTC http://anandtech.com/show/9137/the-htc-one-m9-review-part-2 Well damn. This is as bad as it could have gotten for HTC. People should be allowed to expect improvement over time in mobile devices, but the M9 has demonstrated palpably worse performance than the M8 in a number of areas. The Galaxy S6 is going to whoop the M9 in the butt so bad that I'm genuinely fearing for HTC. I miss the glory days of the M7, a phone whose worst quality was the two buttons instead of three. Farewell HTC. We knew thee well... Opinions? (Edited title - originally was a bit too extreme)

Oh boy, here comes HTC with more variations on what should have been their flagship phone to begin with. As we can see, it has a Quad HD display as well as 3GB of RAM and a 20mp camera. The E9 gets cut down specs. I'm trying to understand why they NEED to make such country specific devices instead of just minimizing how many variations they need off the bat, but oh well. I'm not running their product lines so I can't explain their reasoning. But here they both are. Enjoy? http://www.engadget.com/2015/03/29/htc-one-e9-plus-official-china/

Another day, another leak for another phone. HTC, this is what you should've released the HTC M9 as in the first place. See, all this segmentation garbage? Doesn't do your bottom line much good. Why make two of nearly the same when you can just make the one? Jesus, at least Apples strategy made SOME sense. Two sizes, largely the same across the board. Not really punishing people who picked the smaller one or those who picked the bigger one. Can't you do that? Why do you need a plus? Is your M9 already so weak (actually, it is) that you need a Plus for a specific market? http://www.engadget.com/2015/03/25/htc-m9-plus-leak-china-launch/?utm_source=Feed_Classic_Full&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Engadget&?ncid=rss_full

It seems like we have two different versions (either being tested or for release) of this M9 Plus. Nothing fairly concrete so far, but it seems like the Snapdragon 810 might not be the only chip in consideration, seems weird that they would go to MediaTek for an alternative. http://www.phonearena.com/news/HTC-One-M9-Plus-images-leak-showing-a-bigger-badder-flagship-in-the-making_id66900

Do you guys think that the HTC One M9 is worth an upgrade? Do you think that Samsung's new TouchWiz with Lollipop is enough to bring new users. Could it scare loyalists away?
-
I take these with a grain of salt, given how Samsung has a penchant for milking benchmarks and straight up optimizing their phones for benchmark applications. That being said, if you're interested in the scores here are the videos. It certainly does deliver a whooping to the others, though is it enough of a whooping that people care? Will the classic "Samsung Sluggishness" bite them in the ass again, like it has on prior Galaxy devices? http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/03/02/galaxy-s6-achieves-monstrously-high-benchmark-scores-leaves-htc-one-m9-in-the-dust/

So what are everyone's thoughts on the two big press conferences today? I think the biggest announcement for me was the VR partnership with Valve on HTC's side. For those of you who haven't seen either, here are the video links. HTC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BWhM_oHr558 Samsung: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVk3ZWrhHxc (yes I am aware that the Samsung event is still happening as I am posting this)

Seems that after all the leaks, someone posted a video on YouTube showing the body of the M9. It looks almost identical to the M8, except the square camera (20 MP now) lens on the back and the power button is now on the side. Also the lens might be made of sapphire according to this picture (link: http://imgur.com/fS9sOF0) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRnE6v4QBy4 It was expected, although, I have to agree, disappointing. With the M9 resembling the M8 so much, you have to wonder how many people will actually want to upgrade their phone for this one. Still looks very nice, the sides look a bit less slippery, BUT it is almost the same exact phone Sorry if it's been posted before, couldn't find a post with this video and the pic. edit: figured out how to add the picture Video mirror: <removed by staff> Source: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2xgo5e/first_htc_m9_hands_on_video/

Here it officially is? Officially looking enough, thats for sure. Here is a rundown of the specs that have been leaked just days before its official announcement: I think at 5", a 1080p panel will be pretty good and having more pixels doesn't always make sense. I do think it looks nice, I don't like the gold/silver combo but the gunmetal one looks sharp. It looks like a conservative upgrade over the M8, not enough to make people want to ditch their M8s but enough to be a solid update to what was already a solid phone. Here are some more specs on the camera, you've got your 4K shooting at a 27.8mm lens. Seems like a solid step up from the UltraPixel nonsense, hopefully the low light shooting stays good. Android Central also had a preview of the M9: http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m9-preview?utm_source=ac&utm_medium=dlvrit http://www.theverge.com/2015/2/22/8084639/htc-one-m9-specs-pictures-leak http://www.mobilegeeks.de/artikel/htc-one-m9/
