I recently upgraded to the MSI gaming m7 with an intel 7600K and G.Skill Trident Z RGB RAM. its been a great choice so far since games that i struggled with are now running smoothly (since they were usually CPU bottlenecked). However ive come across what may be a GIGANTIC issue. so a month or two back i had to sent a Trident Z stick back as all the RGB zones died, i thought nothing of it and assumed it was just an unlucky stick. however having replaced it, the new stick has died in exactly the same way. all RGB zones dead, yet the stick does work fine. moreover now my USB ports do not provide power to my headset and mouse LEDs when shutdown (something i couldnt seem to change but it didnt bother me). now im just worried, if G.Skill offers me a 2nd replacement stick then what should i look at to see if the mobo is shorting out or broken somewhere? i dont want to end up losing more parts. - something to note that i cannot 100% be certain of is that both times the sticks have died the PC was left in sleep mode for a decent chunk of time, normally i use the PC daily. (this recent time i went away so i left it on sleep for near enough 2 days) in sleep mode the RGB zones on the Trident Z kits do NOT turn off.

Does anyone know hoe to remap/configure a RGB header on a MSI motherboard.? I have the z270 m7 with a cablemod led kit, but the green and blue pins are swapped on the header/leds.

Hello! I love looking up different pc hardware and now i have found this motherboard Z270-GAMING-M7, because i figured why not upgrade my cpu, so I heard this motherboard would give the new kaby lake the most preformance boost. So while im at it buying a new motherboard and cpu why not upgrade to more storage since im lacking a fast harddrive to run my games at, I looked up a few ssds and then i saw the m.2, its waaay faster and not for a too high of a price. And now when I was watching youtube and found that there are different types of m.2s?! And now I must ask you, will this m.2 nvme work on the M7 motherboard without any preformance losses or do I have to select another motherboard? What motherboard is the best for the new kaby lake, how do you know what motherboard you should pick? any more important things you have to look for if you are buying a little over standards gaming pc? While im at it, how do you know if you bought the normal Strix gtx 1080 or the factory overclocked one after you thrown away the box for it?

So i did a build with the new i7-7700k. The motherboard has a (4+4) 8pin connector on the motherboard combined with a separate 4 pin connector for the cpu. I've only connect the 4+4 pin and not the separate one. Can this lead to any problems in the future? Atm everything is running pretty solid, except for the temperatures of the cpu. It is only acting up when i run csgo, idle temps are between 25°c - 30°c. When running csgo it's around 70°c.

Hello, been a long time PC gamer and the last time I built a PC... well my current PC has an Nvdia XFX motherboard if that tells you something. Needless to say, a lot has changed since then and the motherboard marketplace is quite different these days it seems. I am building a new PC based a 6700k which I plan on overclocking. I do want DDR4 support and as fast as I can get, not for performance but for long term compatibility. My current system uses DDR2 1200 and I'm not repeating that mistake. Currently I have my search narrowed to MSI and Asus with my leading options being the Maximus VIII Hero and the Z170A in the MSI camp. These boards are the same price, claim a lot of the same features, and both have a lot of complaints about DOA boards... but so has every single board I have looked at. People seem to assume Asus is the more reliable company in this situation but from reading reviews it seems to be a toss up. So with that in mind, which of these is better? I would like serious answers backed up by evidence. If you know of a board that meets my requirements and is better than these (but not more expensive) feel free to tell me that too. I will admit I like the MSI's "gaming ports" simply because I have been doing the same thing with custom drivers for years, something that windows 10 prevents me from doing, and with my personal favorite mouse it results in much higher tracking speeds. Apple has announced the updated line of MacBooks featuring updated processors and rumoured new pci SSDs. They've also introduced rose gold as a new colour. As has been discussed before, this lineup could threaten the existence of the MacBook Air, but in reality I don't think so as the new lineup is priced at a very different price point and has completely different hardware paired with the stunning 1440p IPS panel, and personally I would think is targeted at content consumer, to blogger/copyright who needs a little bit of extra horsepower and battery life in a ultra portable device. The fact that this laptop has been given a CPU Update is a huge seller for me, but it remains to be seen if it will increase the problematic throttling that the previous iteration suffered from under load (although I highly suspect that it was never designed for sustained load, and instead for short workloads to decrease boot and load times). Other than that, the majority of whats inside is the same. Source: http://anandtech.com/show/10260/apple-macbook-skylake-core-m-rose-gold-color

This is an interesting rumor about HTC, reported by Taiwanese media EPrice TW. We all heard news about how bad HTC was in the smartphone business. But instead of launching news smartphones, according to an article from EPrice TW, it seems HTC will re-launch the original HTC One (M7) (at least in Taiwan). Eprice TW reported that HTC will re-launch the HTC One (M7) in February. Since it is a 2-yrs old flagship, the M7 will be sold with a heavy price cut - with a 70% discount, around TWD 6000, or $179, as Eprice TW reported (The original price is around TWD 19,900). Also according to the article, these M7s are not 2nd-hand or recycled smartphones, these are completely new smartphones. But Eprice TW predicted that the packaging and warranty of these new M7 will be different from any new HTC smartphones. HTC haven't responsed to this article, thus I would still classified it as a rumor. And it is still unclear if there will be any changes in the config, model, colors, or whether the M7 will be re-launch in other cities or countries. But if HTC re-launch the M7 in yr area, would u buy one now, 2/3 yrs after its initial launch? http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/talk/4542/4969290/1/ (in Chinese)

The rom I'm currently running is 5.0.2, and while there are versions of cynagenomd 13 that will run on my phone, I prefer the sense UI, over stock android, so I have been looking for a rom that has both android 6.0 (mainly for the battery life updates), and the sense UI. I have not had any luck so far, as all of the sense roms I know of for my phone are still on android 5.0.2, and since HTC stopped development on the m7, there is no luck there either. Do any of you know of sense based roms that are on the latest version of android? considering a lollipop version of sense came out pretty quick for the m7, but the same can't be said for android 6.0

So, I've had an HTC One m7 since around august of last year, and for the most part, it's been pretty good, particularly after I installed a custom rom and improved my batter life. This was until two weeks ago, when I wanted to transfer some music to the phone. I was having issues with it not showing up in explorer (not something that new). I decided I'd try plugging it into my USB hub. I did, it didn't work, and I noticed the cable was a little warm. I unplugged it from the phone, and discovered that there was a billow of smoke and some melted plastic. The odd thing is, other then the internals of the port being a little melted, the phone charges fine, and syncs more or less fine. As such, I sort of wanted to get another opinion on whether I should keep and continue to use the phone or if I should try and return/replace the phone from where I purchased it. EDIT - I failed to mention before, but I was using HTC's official cable. Also, sorry for the horrible pun.

Okay so I love my HTC One but..... A while ago out of the blue, It started acting funny. The operating system (Android Revolution at the time) started to stop working. I'd never had any troubles with Android Revolution until then. So I decided to re flash the OS, which was a really bad idea. I made a TWRP backup before I started anything, like I usually do. I was planning on doing a full system wipe for a clean install so I needed to move the backup off the device. That's when I found out that the USB wasn't working so I ended up moving the backup via wifi. So I gave the phone a full wipe and started installing my OS again (A newer version of Android Revolution). It definitely wasn't corrupt, I checked the Md5 sum. From there it refused to install so I gave up gave it all another wipe and I tried to put the old backup back on but I couldn't. That's where I'm at now and have been the last month or two. Current State: Able to access bootloader and recovery only Nothing on the device's storage Only Charging while off Not recognized by my computer (ADB and Fastboot) Not able to mount USB OTG in TWRP Not able to mount system in TWRP What I have Tried: Different USBs Just about every different driver I can find Different ADB and Fastboot versions Different computers Device Information: M7_UL S-ON HBOOT-1.56.0000 RADIO-4A.17.3250.14 OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909 Recovery - TWRP v2.6.3.3 I've been looking all over the internet for a solution but I can't find anything to help me fix this.

Has anyone else got a HTC One M7 and recently had the Lollipop update and since tried to use Chrome? Well I just did and I'm not sure they converted it properly when it comes to the on screen menu buttons vs hardware buttons. For example I couldn't work out where the tab switching button was so I looked it up and it told me to press the square icon. There isn't square icon. I can only imagine that this is one of the contextual menu buttons that phones now have but mine doesn't, so now I can only use 1 tab at a time or switch browsers. Is anyone else running into this and know if there is a work around or something that I'm missing in the options menu? Thanks.

Last night I left my One m7 shutdown and not plugged in on my desk at about 65 percent battery and this morning when I woke up I turned it on and plugged it in. Now it is at 39 percent and still says charging, I sent my phone in less than a month ago with the same exact problem and HTC seemed to have fixed it but now I am having the same problem and I would like to at all costs not send it in again as that was a nightmare of customer support. Does anyone know of a way to fix this as I love this phone and as a student I do not have the money to drop on another high end smartphone or even the repair because last time they charged me 180 dollars for the repair. Edit: I've tried leaving it off and on power saver and those just slow the battery depletion but it still doesn't charge.

Hey, I was wondering, if you could recommend some good looking ROMs for the HTC One M7. I currently run Android 4.4 and the update to 5.0 is nowhere to be seen and am getting pretty tired of it So, post your suggestions and pros/cons of said ROMs... Thanks, cheers

Hello everyone, I would like to know if it is a good choice to change my Nexus 4 for a HTC One M7. The reason im going to buy the HTC is because the USB port of my Nexus 4 is all messed up and also because I live outside de US and the HTC seems to be (kinda) cheap and also good quality.

Having trouble getting CyanogenMod on my HTC One M7...
Vitalius posted a topic in Phones and Tablets
Hi guys, I bought a used HTC One M7 off a fellow forum member. He sent it to me with Cyanogen Mod installed. However, for varying reasons, I had to flash the vanilla AT&T ROM onto it. Now, when I try reinstalling CM, it fails. It shows a red triangle with a phone coming out of it when I try installing TWRP/SuperSU Installer after the first reboot. This is where I'm stuck as I'm not sure how else to install CM. When I boot to it's Bootloader, this is what I see: I know for a fact that it had CM on it before, so I assume it's rooted. Not sure what TAMPERED or UNLOCKED means. I've tried googling this issue (where the red triangle comes up), but haven't found anything specific to help. Apparently something green is supposed to come up that basically says it's working. Any help is appreciated. -
so I've had the one m7 for a little more than a year now, and it used to be great... but now the battery life is terrible and it is pretty slow overall, especially in the messaging app. I have a lot of messages on my phone, so could that be slowing down the messaging app a lot? I don't really want to delete them all... Also, is there anything I can do to make the battery last longer? Even with mobile data and wifi off for a few hours a day, a lot of the time it can't last for even a whole school day (7am-3pm). because of my contract with verizon, I think I'm stuck with this phone until next august.... what can I do to make it faster (especially in the messaging app) and make the battery last longer?

I have an HTC One M7 that is currently running CyanogenMod. I would like to revert it back to stock with sense and all and for that I need an RUU. My carrier is Vodafone and I am in the UK and I have not been able to find an RUU for this specific carrier. I have looked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276 and I could not see any RUUs there for my device, only OTAs which are the wrong thing I am pretty sure. I have looked for a while for one and cannot seem to find one anywhere. I was wondering if anyone here knew where I could get he correct RUU for my device?

Hi! Well... Couple weeks ago I ruined my HTC One M7 by driving over it with an ATV (phone fell out of my pocket and under the wheel). The screen was cracked, but working, case was bent a little and I had to make decision to buy new phone or fix old one. So i decided to repair the phone. Maybe someone gets some inspiration or hope from my video. Total cost was 90€ (including tools). I also made video of the progress: All the best Mart

Sweet mother of processors, this is outrageous. Keep up the good work Oracle, keep it up indeed. I guess they need this kind of absurd firepower for the kinds of stuff they run. Also, pretty processors. http://www.enterprisetech.com/2014/08/13/oracle-cranks-cores-32-sparc-m7-chip/

Preface: I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to customizing Android So basically this icon (which is supposed to be Chrome) just appeared within the last day or so, and I don't know how to fix it. See 3rd icon in Launch Bar (Android figure with a box). It doesn't launch anything, either. How do I get rid of it and get Chrome back there? For reference, I'm using Nova Launcher Prime for my home screen but HTC's stock lock screen. The Launch bar is as follows: Phone, Messages, Chrome, HTC Camera Any help is appreciated.

I currently have a m7 and m8 locked to bell. i would like to start with the m7 first as i have never done this before and it is a spare phone. so i was wondering if it is possible to boot loader unlock my m7 using the htc developer tools and then flash the htc unlocked rom onto my phone so i can get the updates directly from htc as bell takes forever to roll out the updates.
