  1. Hi, So i have repasted 4 times like in a 6 months period and i have even replaced the both laptop's fans with new ones but i see no improvement in temperatures. What i'm doing wrong? few things from side: - Using laptop Cooler - Vents are clear - Bios Up to date - Room temp not high - No virus or anything, fresh installation I can not under-volt because of my Bios update version with Intel XTU, neither under-volting works with throttlestop. So under-volting is not possible. CPU temps go to 100C even with loads like 10-30%, where as GPU is fine at 99% of load. Please help.
  2. Hello, I have been having stuttering and low performance issues on my desktop pc for a very long time now and I am unsure of what the problem could be. I just recently upgraded nearly everything in my pc and I still continue to have stuttering problems. I have ran tests on all my components and none seem to be faulty or underperforming. None of my temps are out of wack and all stay at cool temperature even under stress. I just recently reset my pc and updated to windows 11, but this too seemed to have no effect. Some games I typically run on this pc are Fortnite, Minecraft, COD, and Roblox which aren't crazy demanding games, but I still have problems running the games at high and consistent framerate even at low settings. Like I said, nearly all of my components are new and did not fix my problem with low fps and stutters. I just recently went to a friend's house who has a pc of similar specs with a RTX 3060 and an i7 13700k which runs infinitely smoother and better in every way. Please help me as I am completely lost on what my problem could be. Here are my specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x GPU: RTX 3060ti MOBO: Gigabyte A520M S2H RAM: OLOy DDR4 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 3200 MHz (only old component) PSU: Thermaltake Smart 600W 80+ White
  3. Hi there, I recently built a custom PC and am experiencing very low frame rates (even lower than my old machine) in all of the games I play. My new PC has a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, an Asus (TUF) branded RTX 4070, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, an X670E AUROS MASTER motherboard, and all the games are installed on a 2TB SSD. I ran Minecraft at normal settings and was getting around 10 fps in the main menu, and 5 fps actually playing. I also ran BeamNG.drive at normal settings and was getting around 20 - 25 fps. The CPU usage was around 25 - 30%, the RAM usage was around 30 - 35%, and the GPU usage was around 20 - 30% on both games. Both of these fps stats are far worse than my old PC which had a 9th gen Intel i5 and a GTX 1660, getting 100 - 120 fps on Minecraft and 130 - 135 fps on BeamNG.drive. I really need to fix this, as I use my computers for a lot of things. Does anyone know of any common solutions that I could do to fix this? If more context is needed, I'll be happy to provide it.
  4. I purchased an Asus GA35DX about 20 days ago I was getting around 300 fps on all epic settings on 1080p Fortnite three days ago I started getting about 80 fps on Fortnite same settings. Can anyone help? Specs: Ryzen 7 5800x 3080 asus tuf 12gb 64gb ram 1tb ssd 3tb hard drive for additional information on the topic please REPLY
  5. every time I alt tab in games, my fps drops to about 5-15 fps, i managed to get a recording of this in Fortnite where i alt tabbed and my fps dropped to 15. later in the clip i just pressed my entire keyboard and it fixed itself. I've tried running the game on f.s borderless, f.s, and windowed, but no difference. I've googled this problem so many times and nothing helped Things i've done: DDU Older Drivers Restart PC MalwareBytes Turned off XMP/DOCP My PC: i7 7700k (no overclock) ASUS ROG STRIX 2060 Super 16GB corsair vengeance 3000mhz asus z270 prime evga 650w 80+ gold 250gb wd ssd 1tb wd hdd 2x 128gb nvme corsair mp500 Youtube Video of my problem:
  6. I have a rtx 4060 and i get low fps in fortnite and in warzone 2.0 on the lowest settings i have a i7 6700 and 12 gb ram Can somone PLS help me
  7. Hi all, So I am back again after a year to bring you the same problem, except this time with the new Beta for COD MW3. So, the same problem is back again and this time I still have no true solution. I had the game running for literally 6 months with no issues and then I just had to go and uninstall for space reasons. Then I go to download the game and what do you know, it is back to running at 7-15 fps and using 7% cpu and 10% gpu will in menus and maintaining that during multiplayer. So I tried what I had before: -Verify game files -reinstalled the game -set cpu priority to low and high -set cpu affinity to all but cpu 0 -changes some of the game files to specify to use 8 cores -made sure xmp was turned on in bios -turned efficiency cores off and on -checked if graphics drivers are up to date/rolled back updates -updated bios and drivers for everything I have on my computer Ultimately we are back to square one of hoping I can keep trying something until it works again. If ANYONE has found a working solution or have suggestions for me to try please let me know! I am running on a high end PC for anyone wondering if my specs can't run. I was getting over 200+ fps at 1440p for that 6 month period.
  8. My specs: -GPU: MSI RTX 4080 Suprim -CPU: i7 13700k -CPU Cooler: Corsair iCue Link H100i (240mm) -Motherboard: Asus Z790-P Prime WIFI -Memory: 16GBx2 (32GB) G Skill 6000mhz DDR5 -Storage: 2TB Crucial M.2, 500GB SATA SSD, 2TB HDD -PSU: MSI 850W Gold -Corsair Commander Fan Controller, RGB hub, Corsair iCue Link Hub -Bios version is current (I think?) I built this new PC about 10 days ago. It booted right up and benchmarked exactly as it should without overclocking. I've been played Starfield every day since with no issues. I noticed a bubbling noise from my AIO radiator. So after some research, I decided to move my radiator up as far as it would go (even though it was already higher than the pump.) While I had it apart, I also did some cable management. I unplugged the USB connectors for my fan controllers, my front panel audio connector, and my 24-pin connector for my GPU. Once I got it back together, GeForce Experience told me I had a driver update for my GPU. So I installed the driver and ran Starfield. The AIO noise was gone, but my FPS was around 70-80 and it looked very choppy (I was getting 150-200 FPS before on the same settings.) CPU temps were 60-70°C under load, and GPU was 40-50°C. The first thing I did was shut it down and check all of my connections. Everything looked fine. So I used DDU to roll back my Nvidia driver to the previous version. No luck. I triple-checked all of my connectors and then proceeded to take the PC apart entirely and put it back together. No change. I ran Time Spy on 3DMark and I actually scored slightly higher than my first benchmark right after I built it. The only noticeable change was my CPU and GPU temps were both averaging about 5-7° hotter, but the temps were still absolutely fine. And Starfield still looks horrible. I also tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I don't really have any other games to test because I don't have a reference for them from before I started having issues. I have some sensor logs from HWinfo, but I honestly don't know how to decipher most of it. It all looks fine to me. XMP is enabled, and my Display Port cable is plugged into my GPU. I'm at a loss. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  9. Hello, recently i was playing COD and I was getting about 60-90 fps on warzone. I have 2k monitor and wondering why the low fps. I do have a decent rig but I'm guessing its due to bottlenecking. I used an online bottlenecking calculator and it gave me a 13% score. I have listed the parts of my pc below, if anyone could give me some suggestions and which CPU to upgrade too as the calculator said its cause of the CPU. Thank you. 10. I'm just getting into streaming and I'm playing a 7 year old game with a 7 year old video card. (GTX 1080). I noticed I was dropping frames in the heat of the action. Previously, when I wasn't streaming, I was able to get 140+ FPS with it rarely if ever dropping below 60-70FPS. So, I decided to invest in a new GPU. I bought the XFX 319 Radeon 6950 XT card, and a new Corsair 1000W PSU (was using 650 before) to pair with it. I installed the AMD drivers, rebooted, and it was just as bad, if not worse. Even with OBS off, I still only get 80FPS, with ALL settings on LOW and playing solo in the training grounds!! So, I found DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall BOTH drivers, from safe mode (one at a time, rebooting in between). After that, I rebooted into normal mode, and reinstalled the AMD drivers. The problem is still here! I really don't want to format and reinstall windows... What else should I try to troubleshoot this issue? I imagine on low settings, I should be getting maxed out on FPS (300+) with this card. Please help! Other system specs: - Ryzen 7 3700X - ASUSTek x570 Prime - 48GB RAM
  11. I have a M27Q IPS 170 Hz monitor and a LG IPS 60 Hz monitor from 2015. I have no problems running games like God of War, Resident evil 4 remake or Battlefield 2042 on an unlocked FPS. However, when I lock them in 60 fps mode, they begin to stutter badly, with or without Vsync, Free sync on or off, or turning on 60 Hz mode. The same happens on games locked at 60 fps, like Elden Ring and Fighting Games, or on old games with no option for a high refresh rate. My PC specs are: Processor: Intel Core 12700k Motherboard: Asus Prime z690-a GPU: AMD 6700 RX Memory single stick RAM Kingston DDR5 16GB 5200Mhz Fury Beast Black x1 NVME SN750 BLACK 3400MB/S PSU 750W Corsair Silver Certificate Plz help, i tried everything
  12. Hello, I recently pair amd rx 560 4gb with my i5 3470. While playing valorant if i lower my graphical setting my gpu usage went to low plus clock speed comes between 400-600 Mhz and the cpu goes to 100% and start stuttering But when I bring my graphical setting up it provides consistent frame time graph
  13. Laptopl: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 SNID: 11002133634 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz (4,20 GHz max) RAM: 32 GB @ 3200 MHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX3060 (85w) Windows 11 Home x64 BIOS version: V2.06 So like the tittle says, my CPU is underclocking when under stress, I've had this problem for quite a while but I've been able to work around it, but I'm getting tired of the random FPS drops when playing games. I've recently updated my OS to Windows 11 but I've had this problem for around 6 months or so while using Windows 10, it started with weird underclocks right from the computer start, the clock speed would lock at 1,80 GHz but after a restart it would go back to normal, and after 2 weeks or so the problem was gone, a month after, whenever I would start any resource intensive app (even games like War Thunder that only make the CPU usage go to 60~%) the speed would go from 4,20 GHz to 3,70 or so and stay there, restarting the PC wouldn't fix it anymore and it's been like that for 5 months now, updating drivers, cleaning and updating the RAM as well as changing the thermal paste didn't work, also tried to change the settings on the energy plans and no fix either, I've noticed something weird tho, the fan speed on the Nitro Sense app seems to be quite slower for he CPU, although I don't think this is the problem, the CPU used to go up to 90° when gaming when I bought it, now it rarely gets to 80° or 70°, because of this the fans rarely get to high speeds on their own too, but as shown later on this post, a single core seems to be hitting higher temperatures than the others, which isn't shown by Nitro Sense or any app that gets the temperature of the CPU as a whole. Another weird thing is that even tho the CPU reaches it's max speed of 4,20 GHz the speed seems very unstable, jumping from 3,90 to 4,45 and inbetween constantly, these screenshots were taken seconds apart from each other Now here's a screenshot of the CPU being stressed by CPU-Z. As soon as the CPU hit 100% usage the speed dropped to 3,70 and slowly kept going down to 3,60, after 1 minute went down to 3,50, but as soon as the stress test is stopped this happened: The speed picks up as if nothing happened, weird behavior was noticed in the voltage used by the CPU, and using Core Temp a single core seems to go up in temperature very quickly Running normally Not even 1 second after stress test starts If anyone knows how this problem could be fixed, please let me know
  14. I've switched back to water cooling after a long hiatus. And I've run into an issue that I haven't experienced before. My GPU is drawing less power i.e. Watts than before, which has impacted the FPS in gaming. This is something I haven't experienced before. The GPU is a XFX THICC III 5700XT Ultra. I did switch out the old thermal pads for thermal grizzly, but I don't think that could cause any issues, as the PC powers on and there are no black screens / hangs / crashes. Google search on this issue only brings up how to lower power consumption, which doesn't directly deal with what I am experiencing. I'm using Hardware Monitor, MSI Afterburner and AMD Radeon to monitor the power consumption, which is driving me nuts. Even a full Furmark / Prime95 Test is not pushing past 60 watts of power consumption. Before, this use to be around the 200-255 watt mark. Specs: Ryzen 5 5600x CPU 32GB Corsair Ram 3600MHZ Ram XFX THICC III 5700XT Ultra (Owned for almost 5 years now) Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite Motherboard Power: Bequiet Straight Power 11 Gold 750 watt. What I've done so far to try and fix it: 1. Swapping out the previous VGA / PCIE. Before, it was one 8pin to two separate 6+2. Now its 2x 8pins to 6+2. 2. DDU Fresh Drivers / Rollbacks 3. Default Performance settings for the Card 4. Bios Update 5. Turned off / on Re-size Bar and AMD Smart Access Memory I'm just short of draining my water build and opening the Graphics Card to have a look if there is anything unusual. But I'm not sure that's the issue. Everything seems to running well, even as I type this. The issues are in multiple games I've tested over the last 2-3 Days. None of my games, with the lowest settings set, are able to crack 30fps minimum. I'm honestly boggled. Short of draining, reapplying paste and giving it another go, I might have to fork out a few thousand for a new GPU, (Australian Prices for GPUs are shocking) which I'm trying to avoid at all costs. Looking to see if the community has bumped into this issue. I feel like I've attacked multiple issue solving angles here. Not sure. Provide your input and I'll be happy to answer any questions / queries. I'll be checking this throughout the day too. Thanks for the Read!
  15. Hi! I bought a new laptop recently, here are the specs: OS: Windows 11 CPU : Intel i5-11400 2.60GHz - 4.4GHz Turbo 6 cores GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU // Intel UHD Graphics 730 16Gb RAM (2*8Gb) DDR4 3.2GHz 144Hz screen 1Tb SSD I've seen some game tests with the same specs on a laptop on YouTube, even read some threads with people that have similar specs to mine (even some with lower than mine), and for some reason, everyone seems to run their games crazy good, while mine struggle on most of games. I can't even run Hitman above 30fps wether I tweak the graphic settings or not, I can't play Warzone with decent fps even if I put everything in low, I can run Hogwarts Legacy but there are a lot of places where fps just drop, the PC does not handle f-ing Genshin Impact on ultra, I had to tweak settings for hours on Lost Judgment to get 50-60fps, etc... When I read what people with the same specs as mine have to say, everything runs AT LEAST, MINIMUM AT 60FPS with medium/high settings on most of games. There's DEFINITELY something wrong with my PC, and I don't know what. I feel like it's not using its full capacities. Here's what I saw in video, the guy has nearly the exact same specs as my laptop, and his Warzone runs at 60fps with high settings, while my Warzone is unplayable. Video "here". I updated all my drivers, Nvidia included, I have GeForce Experience installed, my laptop is plugged, battery settings are on max performances, my Nvidia control panel is on my RTX, same for the games I'm playing, I put all of them on my RTX wether it's in the game or in the control panel. I just don't get it. Some games run the same or worse compared to my older potatoe laptop (it had like 8Gb of RAM, a GTX 1050, i5 8th gen, basically it was a MSI GL62M and I added a 500Gb SSD to replace the HDD to run things smoother). Please I really need help, my laptop is like brand new, it has to work! I don't know what the problem could be... Thank you for your answers!
  16. So I got this laptop around a month ago, brand new, the Dell Vostro 3405 with the AMD Ryzen 3450u and when I'm gaming or doing whatever I see like 80% usage spikes but then I look at the actual processes or tasks or whatever that are active and there is like a couple things only that are using say, 20% CPU and, nothing else, like 2 or 3 things besides that that are using like 3% CPU each. Its so annoying because when I'm doing whatever, playing 1080p youtube, gaming, etc, it slows down when I try to like close a program, load a new page (its not a bigg slow down but its just not smooth) so I don't know why there are CPU usage spikes like that but it doesn't really show what is pushing the CPU to 100% usage each time on task manager. Also, some times it just runs fine, 60FPS stable while gaming (I know this machine is capable of more even, we're talking League of Legends, that the game I play most of the time) but then some times I just get low, unstable FPS, like around 30 and going even below that in moments of high action on screen (graphics set to low, vsync etc disabled). I don't know what's happening, maybe something's causing the CPU/GPU to throttle, something is causing the CPU to get to 100% usage when it shouldn't do that, but something is causing the PC to slow down. The laptop came with Windows 10 LTSC (installed by the local store that sold it to me) and I recently installed Windows 11 Pro (which Dell says this machine is compatible with). Something else to mention, I don't think this PC thermal throttles (maybe, I don't know what the threshold is for this specific machine) but it stabilizes at around 70 degrees under heavy load and it maintains that) Hope you guys can help me figure out what is causing my PC to have CPU usage spikes when stuff are loading (when chrome pages loading, game client pages loading, booting up game client(LoL cliente), etc, and why some times I get low frame rates when this machine should be capable of running League of Legends at least at a steady 60FPS no problem. If you need any extra info to try to help me I'll gladly provide, thank you in advance
  17. So i have and intel i9 10900x and nvidia geforce rtx 3060ti and i get low fps in mostly every game i play. Im not great with PCS so i have tried looking online and its seems like everyone had different ways of getting around it thata just seem to complex for me to sort, would any of you know a quick solution that might help or would i be better sending it out to someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks in advance
  18. So i have and intel i9 10900x and nvidia geforce rtx 3060ti i mainly only play rust and tarkov and rarely will my frames ever go over 70 is this normal?
  19. Powercolor RX 570 Red Dragon 4GB (ex mining, most likely) consumes only 80-100 watts while it should be 120-150 watts. Tested on both BIOS. Performance in gaming is worse than RX 470D (which is worse than regular RX 470). Only 38 fps in Shadow of the Tomb Raider High Preset while the RX 470D gets 46 fps. AIDA64 benchmark also worse than other RX 570. Especially in Memory Read which is only 1.6GBps while it should be at least 6,3GBps. Things I have tried: - reinstall driver. - update driver to newest. - switch to mining BIOS and install-patch driver. - clean with DDU and reinstal driver. - Reducing core clock to 1.100v. - increase power limit to the max. - reset mobo CMOS. Things I haven't tried: - reflashing the card BIOS. - using different PSU. - using whole different computer. - repasting and cleaning the card. - overclocking the card. - begging the card to work harder. Notes: - Mobo and Windows always set to maximum performance. - max CPU temp is 77°C. - using 6+2 pins PCIe cable. It should be enough for a 120w card. - the card's back plate is too hot, I think. - but the sensor says it never goes beyond 76°C. - my dead RX 470D can consume 120w just fine with the same PSU. My old PC: i7 4770 Asus Z87-K 12GB RAM, 1600MHz FSP Hexa+ 400 Windows 10 21H2. --- Update: okay, the weirdest thing just happened. Not sure if it's related or not. My i7 4770 non K peaked at 4GHz just now. It never do that in the 5 years I own the CPU!
  20. So, I have a I9 10900 non K running on a Gigabyte B460M HD together with 2 sticks of 16gb 3000ghz ram, a rtx 2080 super and a 600w power supply. A while I go I noticed the temps were just too high and decided to go with a z63 from NZXT, its running well at 60-70 degrees max with the VRM at 80 degrees max. But yesterday one of my friends bought a RTX 2070 for his setup and with his RTX and a i9 9900k he could pull up +40fps than me on The Forest. Looking for other people's i9 testings, the fps difference from mine were sometimes huge. I guess there is something to do with my MOBO and my power supply, im afraid to buy it and not solve my problem. sorry for bad english
  21. Hi, I'm kind of new to gaming. Started with Fortnite, as my kids play it too. I went all in on a i9-13900K rig; MSI Mag Tomahawk Z690 D4 (wifi) i9-13900k, cooled by LF II 420mm. It does around 40k points in cinebench so cooling is not an issue (draws around 390W). 2x16GB G.Skill 3600MTs CL16 ram (Trident Z neo), XMP enabled MSI 3070TI Suprim X, power cap at 106% Set to gaming mode. WD SN850X drive, in the correct M.2 slot. Crystaldiskinfo gets me about right perf here too. I'm gaming at 1440p, FPS is capped to 60 fps. I do however get a lot of drops to 10-20fps every now and then. Even in the lobby. Settings are at auto. Monitoring CPU usage (task manager & HWinfo) and GPU usage (MSI Afterburner) on another monitor, they are all good (GPU at around 40%, CPU low). What gives? Any ideas? how could I better monitor the FPS's (1% lows etc) while playing?
  22. So today I treated myself with a used RX6600XT that performed on par and even better than what to expect from it in 3DMark Time Spy. It was tested in the sellers system, the guy put the GPU into the system with brand new driver install so no problem there. I bring it home, put it into my system consisting of: i7 4790k @ 4.8Ghz 32GB 1600MT/s Asus Maximus VII Hero Asus Dual RX6600XT 8GB Before this GPU upgrade I had a RX580 4GB, games ran fine but anything more demanding, set it back, especially because of the 4GB VRAM. After DDU‘ing drivers and installing the latest from AMD, I fire up PUBG, a game that I mostly play, on the old GPU it ran at about 100FPS at 1080p. GPU sat usually at 100% while CPU was chilling at 50-60%. On the new one it runs at 80-90FPS while GPU and CPU sit at 40-50%. I know 1080p is CPU intensive but I should at least be seeing an improvement over the old one, not worse. I also fired up BeamNG.drive where I saw a similar situation. Low GPU and CPU usage as well as low FPS (compared to old one). Old one ran it 70-80FPS, new one runs it at 60ish. For the record, my monitor is 75Hz which is the threshold I‘m looking to achieve. So at this point, I don‘t know what to do. I currently don‘t have money to upgrade to a new platform but that is in the works. I just want to play games at more than 75FPS and it‘s mind boggling to me how an upgrade can actually take you a step back. If anybody knows the sollution, I‘ve already looked at a few other topics regarding similar issues with the same GPU but I can‘t find any correspondence with mine. Any help is appriciated. Regards, tw1st3d
  23. Hello I recently bought my computer. It's a fairly recent PC due to the parts but I haven't stopped noticing that I don't have such good FPS in certain games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey... What do you think it could be?
  24. So when i play cod all is fine in my first game then after a little while my fps starts dropping to 25-30 from 70-80. Whats confusing is the fact my friend has basically the same specs as me and we run the same graphics settings and he has no problem with his game running at around 70fps all the time. also don't know how much importance this has but in warzone the in game performance over lay states my gpu runs at 10ms and my cpu runs at 25-30ms where as my friends gpu runs at 10ms and his cpu runs at 10ms. My specs are as listed: Reyzen 5 3600 1660TI 16gb ddr4 ram (4x4gb) Kingston NV1 1tb ssd (in which cod is installed on) asus rog strix b450-f My friends specs are as listed: Reyzen 5 3600 1660 16gb ddr4 ram (2x8gb) no ssd Asrock phantom gaming 4 x570
  25. Hey there, I recently installed a new Gigabyte rx 6700xt and well, a few issues cropped up. I'm currently running on Windows 10 version 21H2 with an Intel 9700k on an MSI MEG Z390 Ace and 32GB of DDR4 3000 C15 RAM. I used to use an ASUS Turbo GTX 1080 and none of these issues were present with it. The biggest issue is that the GPU drivers seem to crash under certain circumstances. At first it was just when using my webcam on Zoom, then it started affecting No Man's Sky, and now it's affecting Star Trek Online. It starts with extremely bad stuttering once the game loads up, both audibly and visually, with some visual artifacting. If I try to move the window of the app in question, it'll crash the GPU drivers. Sometimes that fixes the issue, at least with Zoom and NMS, but not always, and problems return on a reboot. I'm using up to date drivers, even reinstalled them. I've removed my old nvidia drivers using Guru DDU as was recommended when I looked at how to uninstall the drivers. After 4 days, the problem only seems to be getting worse. I haven't really had much luck with finding threads online talking about my specific issue, but I have seen similar issues reported a while back - those that had solutions didn't work for mine. I also have issues with my ASUS VG27A @ 1440p running at 60fps while connected to the 6700xt when it used to run at 144fps on my 1080 despite using the same DisplayPort cable. While it's not a major issue, I would like to be able to take advantage of the 144hz with my new card. I haven't tried using older driver versions yet, would it be worth while to backdate the drivers? I'm also wondering if there's a hardware compatibility issue I didn't catch when considering the upgrade? I really appreciate the help!
