In Open Broadcaster Software, in the encoding settings, I have the option to use NVENC encoding with an NVidia graphics card. I was considering getting a cheap, low power, nvidia graphics card like a GT 610 and have it run alongside a gtx 970, where I have the GTX 970 render the game and the GT 610 render the video, so that I dont use the cpu or graphics card power. Is this theoretically possible? Thanks.

I have an i5 4590 CPU with 8GB of RAM on a Asus H97M-E. I am looking to livestream some online games like League of Legends, AvA, maybe some browser games(slither.io and other small stuff). I'm on a fairly tight budget, so I need to know what GPU I should buy that will let me stream these at 720p 60fps. Maybe let me play some new games like Witcher3, Crysis3, Need for Speed at moderate fps at 1080p. Also would like to know what kind of stress streaming puts on a computer, if its more CPU intensive, or GPU intensive, or not doesnt put much strain at all and what not. I hope my questions are clear. All answers and suggestions are welcome and thanked for in advance.

*Feel free to correct me if I'm misinformed on any information here Hi everyone! If you've caught the WAN Show live at any point in the last 3 weeks, you've probably noticed that it's been nearly unwatchable due to the constant drops and glitches. From what I've heard, the problem is with Twitch's servers, but it could also be with their ISP or in-building hardware. I know there's a YouTube archive and everything, but given that the WAN Show is a live event, I'm wondering if Linus may consider trying to switch to YouTube or Facebook for livestreams (assuming the problem is with Twitch). At the least it may be worthwhile to run a couple test streams to see if they still have the problems they did when they started out. Anyway, this is directed at everyone, so feel free to voice your opinions! -Cheers!

I think the Wan Show should move to YouTube live, why? Have you noticed that the last Wan Shows the stream is very inconsistent. YouTube is very consistent YouTube is faster (I can watch Twitch in mobile definition and stopping to buffer and in in Youtube I can watch live at 720p without it getting stuck) I use YouTube live once a week and it has never failed me. And I also recommend you moving to Wirecast, its really good for live streaming and almost never fails.

Okay so I tried to livestream today at http://www.twitch.tv/originalkeezc and every 10-15 minutes my computer turned off unexpectedly, I found out that the problem was that MSI afterburner and OBS don't like to work together so if you're having problems with your PC then just try turning MSI off and putting it back on after your livestream is over. I don't know if anyone else has this problem but it is a fix for me and yeah... just thought I would share

Hallo! I need some ideas/input on this. So my mom and her fiance are getting married soon. They will be getting married at a public venue/place thats made for celebrations and such. They called me today asking if there is any way I can live stream it for them so anybody who couldn't make it could watch from home. I told them yes, because I know i can make it happen. Were still checking if they have internet and how fast. Assuming they do and its fast enough, this wouldn't be that hard. I would like to be able to live stream off of about 1-3 cameras and I want to record it for any who miss the stream. I just don't know where to start. I'm in need of: - the best site to stream this event on - hardware setup ideas (How to hook everything up) - a good software to stream with - approximate cost for any equipment needed Thanks

Hello! So first off, my specs: PSU: Antec TruePower Classic 750W Memory: HyperX Beast 2x8GB 2133MHz HDD: Western Digital Green 1TB SSD: Kingston SSD V300 120GB 2nd SSD: SamsungEVO 250GB GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (2nd one coming next week for SLI setup ) CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Motherboard: Asus Z97-A I have a feeling I'm having a problem with my processor. I stream PC games on Twitch.tv using OBS (a popular livestreaming software). I've been streaming for around 1.5 years and know exactly what impact streaming from the same PC has on performance. Lately I've been having a problem streaming in 60fps720p. I could easily do this before with no real performance impact. Before I invested in an aftermarket cooler (corsair h60) I was running at temperatures of 90+ for 5 hours or more. I noticed the temps I was running at after I started to experience micro-stutters or sudden fps drops whilst gaming. Ever since that, It has never really ran the same whilst streaming at 60fps. Anyone have a solution or an idea as to what the problem could be? Cheers

Hey guys! I've always wanted to live stream, but sadly my wifi sucks. My upload speed is 0.7 Mbps and my download is 7 Mbps. It's literally the fastest we can get, because apparently 2 miles is too far for comcast to run cables. I was looking into this thing called speedify, which would double my speeds, but that would still only be 1.4 Mpbs if I'm lucky. So what would be the minimum upload I'd need to stream to Twitch, if I were streaming in 720 or 1080p? Thanks, -Jordan

CPU Suggestions for Multi-Streaming
Pantslessgamers posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello there... (First post ever here). So I live stream and play some intensive games. But I've been trying to put out 3 live streams at the same time I.E. streaming to YouTube / Twitch.tv / Stream.Me all at the same time. But I've been having issues putting out 720p streams at 30fps and recently upgrade my gpu to handle the game load but I'm figuring that it may be time to upgrade my cpu as well to handle the load. I'm hoping I could get some suggestions as I know it's pretty impractical to do something like this but I've been able to stream to 3 sites with not a lot of problems, but time has started catching up with my specs and now I'm running into issues with lag and degraded quality. I'm wondering if there's a way I can conquer this or any cpu suggestions that could handle the processes being ran. Some of my specs are: Cpu: AMD FX-8150 Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer inc. M5A97 LE R2.0 Vram: MSI GTX 970 Ram: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz 2tbhdd / 250gb ssd / 800w psu I appreciate any suggestions that could be made. I've been spending about the last 6 months learning more about hardware and how it affects my machine and software but I'm still a newbie in understanding the practicality of everything. -
