I am currently working on building a dedicated live stream computer to stream multi-camera events for a non-profit organization I volunteer with. Because this is a non-profit our budget is pretty limited. We are located in the Midwest USA. My plan is to use the ATEM Television Studio HD for camera switching, and then take the output from that into this computer to live stream to YouTube and record locally. The entire system will need to be very portable so I am planning to make everything rack mounted and build in an audio road case. The case will have standard 19" rails, but only about 17" of depth limiting me to a microATX system which can hopefully fit into a 2U or 3U case. I have done some research as so far it seems that somewhat counter-intuitively it is better to use CPU instead of GPU for video encoding and use x264 instead of NVENC. I found this guide which I am using as a starting point for this PC build, but it is a couple years old now and I don't know if it is still the best system for the money. Everything will stream at 1080p60 using OBS Studio. Does anyone have any recommendations for best bang-for-buck system dedicated to video capture and streaming. My target budget for this system is between $500-$700 including the case. Here is what I have pieced together so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y2j96s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And also, if anyone has recommendations on cheap monitors that can be stored in the rack during transport and then set up on a table that I could use with this system (both the stream PC and the multi-view output of the switcher) that would be great too :) Thanks!

Hello, I am looking for a program that allows you to upload custom mp3 files to it and play them with custom set hotkeys. Kinda like a soundboard. I need it to be played over my microphone aswell so that my friends in discord and teamspeak can hear. I am looking for this program to be free aswell. Thanks.

Need to know for a person that wants to use OBS to livestream to YouTube and Facebook that is not gaming content but a commentary and interview content only. The interviews will be done with Skype. What is the minimum requirements needed for a laptop and also a desktop. Not to include the camera, mic, keyboard, mouse or other externals. I am not a techie and want to buy a christmas gift of a desktop or laptop that is under $300. It will be their starter item and may be updated to a new one in 1 year. It needs to be where I can purchase it online from a USA seller since it will be delivered to him in Oklahoma. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

I am trying to build a PC that can run 4K, do video edits, and livestream with my PS4 CHECK OUT MY BUILD: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bw2kJ8 will this build work and is it worth it???

Hello! I run a livestream music channel on twitch, and we use a ton of CPU power for our music PC (DAWs don't mess around), leaving not much headroom for encoding in OBS. Right now we're limited to 720p while running our entire show, and in 2018, that just doesn't fly. I'm looking into spending approx. $700 USD on a small form factor PC with a quick PC, with multi threaded CPU for at least 1080p encoding on Twitch. Unsure if I should spring for an i7 or Ryzen chip, as to which would perform better for this specific encoding workload. I don't need a GPU, but room for a PCI capture card is preferred so I can also stream games from time to time. Any build lists, or pre-built/barebones recommendations are appreciated! Thanks, You're new favorite live-stream band - DelvrMusic

Does anyone have experience with straming via Livestream studio? I'm looking for a cheap laptop to run the stream. I tried to run it on my Zenbook UX303 (i7 5500U, 8 gb, Geforce 940M) it ran without any problems. While i was testing it the nvidia gpu was on 0% and it was using only the integrated intel... Now i need to find a second laptop to conect 2 mevo cameras and a few audio inputs. My budget is about 400-500$ and the battery life and the build quality don't matter but i would like the laptop to be "futureproof"....i want to use it for at least 3-4 years. Do i need a dedicated graphics card for streaming?

Watching a livestream is stuttering for me? What could be the problem?
Guest posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Hi all, I was just watching a livestream and it became stuttering, like the stream would keep stuttering. So, I checked the status of my internet connection, it was fine until it kept cutting out, so I restarted my modem and then everything was fine. Went back to the original livestream I was watching, the same stuttering was occuring, I turned down the quality, that didnt work, I refreshed the browser, that didnt work. I dont seem to know what is causing this stuttering, would anyone know why? Suggestions are appreciated!- 3 replies

Hi everyone,I purchased this set of 4 IP cameras with an intention to live stream a swimming pool match via Facebook. The set includes 4 IP cameras, switcher, PC mouse, cables etc., in short ..the set is ready to go. I tried everything, read manual all over again and never found an answer. The thing works for video surveillance - you plug it to a monitor, and you can switch between cameras with your mouse and I get how it works. Now my question is, what else do I need, to bring the signal on my computer, to an OBS software where I can live stream to Facebook and switch between cameras smoothly. Also, I can use Wirecast if this is a software issue.Link to youtube, where you can see the set: Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.L

So about a year ago bought this PC https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0111MTSZ8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and all I did was swap out the graphics card for a Radeon RX 460 and was wondering if I should get more RAM or a better CPU to improve the quality of my streams. The games look fine on my end but on twitch it looks like a blurry mess. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

eclipse Filming the Great American Eclipse 2017
DavePlays posted a topic in Photography and Videography
As someone who is a video enthusiast, when I realized there would be a pretty epic eclipse in the US, I knew I had to record it... somehow. I heard about the eclipse back in March. At the time, I only had 1 usable camera - my Canon VIXIA HF G20... a consumer camera capable of recording 1080i60 or 1080p30. Here's a pic of it: Since March, I've been looking to upgrade my camera. And no, not just because of the eclipse. My budget was between $1000 USD and $1300 USD. At that price range, there were only a couple of options that would be actual upgrades from the G20. The VIXIA HF G40, a used XA 10 (which Canon appears to have discontinued), something like Sony's AX100, which isn't a great value. After searching B&H, I found JVC's GY-HM 170 - a 4K pro camera with an XLR top handle... for only $1200! You can watch my unboxing of this camera here. Now that I had a good camera, it was time to figure out how to record this eclipse! If you are in the video industry, you know that solar filters have been sold out for weeks now. I was lucky enough, however, to find some 92mm filters (way too big for this camera) on B&H and promptly ordered them. They arrived today. Even though they were too big, it was nothing that gaff tape couldn't fix. So that's how I'm gonna do it! Unfortunately, I won't be in the path of totality. I will, however, get 70% coverage, which is pretty awesome for my first eclipse. For the eclipse in 2024, I will be in the path of totality I plan on livestreaming the eclipse. You can watch it here: Hope you guys found this interesting! -
I need help figuring out how to hook up my DSLR (Canon Rebel SL1/100D) to my PC for live monitoring, using it as an OBS input for twitch streaming, and shooting photos and video straight to my PC from the camera as well if possible. I tried using the Canon EOS Utility software which supposedly could handle some of that, but it doesn't seem to work at all (when I launch it, the only option is to connect a camera over wifi, which my camera can't do). So I have very little idea where to start on this and how feasible it will be. Do I use the USB connector or the mini HDMI? What software should I use? Do I need special hardware like a capture card or something (hope not because I'm broke)? Thanks.

I have a working Icecast server, and a source to push audio to it. I have learned that Icecast uses .m3u files for streaming. On my other windows computer, I wen't to 10.0.0.2:8000/stream.m3u like the documentation said, and the m3u downloaded and played live through VLC media player. That was perfect. But I know my main purpose for this is mobile. So I did the same thing with an android device on the network and an iphone. The iphone downloaded the file, and the built in player played it, but it was weird and took alot of waiting. On android it downloaded but couldn't play the file. I need a solution to be able to play this universally, and without much complication. Like a play/pause button and thats it. I have a XAMPP Apache web server and the icecast web server. I installed MediaElement.JS but all I see on the final webpage is a greyed out play/pause and time bar in chrome. What? How is this supposed to work? What do I need to do to get my desktop audio universally streamed to most platforms with the least complication for the listener? Thanks.

Hello everyone! Im planing a new pc build for livestreaming and gaming purposes for arround 1,400 € because i dont need al the components if i did it would cost me arround 2k€ and this is what i came up with: ________________________________________________ New parts: CPU - Intel i7 6700k 4.00Hz Water cooling - You guys said to throw this one out (Corsair H75) so i exchanged it with Corsair H110 280mm Motherboard - MSI Z170A-PRO RAM - Kingston Fury 16GB (2x8 DDR4) GPU - Palit Geforce GTX 1080 Super JetStream 8GB Case - I also changed the case from (NZXT S340) to a new and more compact Corsair carbide 400C ________________________________________________ Previus PC parts: PSU - Sharkoon 700W 80BronzePlus HDD - WD Blue 1TB SSD - Samsung 120GB (Windows 10 only on it) CDROM - Random one for 20€ _______________________________________________ The main question i have now is will it work if i just plug my SSD with a preinstalled windows10 that i used on my other pc with a totaly diferent motherboard and a AMD CPU? Or will i have to reinstall everything? I know ill have to delete old drivers for GPU and install new ones but will i have to totaly erase everything i really dont want to loose any files Thankyou for your tips and comments!

I just built my super budget gaming PC, and I want to live stream but assume that I can't because I am using an Intel core i3. My graphics card is fine, MSI Radeon rx 480, a 600w power supply, and I'm running windows 10. What minimum hardware should I have in my build or can I use what I have?

I need a GPU that will keep up with the motherboard and CPU...I don't have a high def monitor but I do plan to get one later. I need a couple of options on the continuum. I high/mid/low quality. Also would it be better to have 2 mid/low quality GPUs vs 1 high quality? Thanks.
