I'm looking for camera and lens recommendations general school use. Example uses would be for recording plays or events, in a variety of lighting conditions, and often from a distance away, sometimes up to 100 feet. Anything from a stage play to graduation ceremonies, to student video projects. It would also need to be usable for livestreams, such as the aforementioned graduation ceremonies. The resulting footage needs to be good enough to be edited later. I don't have a set budget, I'm looking for suggestions before formally making a proposal. 4k would be great, anything over is probably excessive. A long battery life or external power source would also be great. Recommendations for a tripod that is sturdy and allows smooth camera movement would also be great.

The company I work for is going to try to do a livestream on YouTube. We have good cameras, very powerful computers and a pretty fast and stable fibre internet connection (250 Mbps up/down). However, we were wondering about the resolution and FPS limitations of livestreaming via OBS to YouTube: Can you livestream to YouTube in 4K 25 FPS via OBS? Will people watching be able to watch in 4K in real time, or will the live be 1080p (and only the video after the finished livestream 4K)? Is anyone able to find someone that has livestreamed to YouTube in 4K (WAN Show seems to be 1080p only)? (Bonus questions: Will OBS be mostly demanding on the CPU or GPU?)

Don't know where to post this but "Troubleshooting" seems the most relevant to my "issue"... Some Context.... I'm trying to do some live streaming on my PC but it's way to underpowered and I don't have the money to buy a fully spec'd out PC. What should I "upgrade" about my PC? Should I Buy a AMD A10 6800k (supports the same socket and is apparently better than what I currently have) and upgrade my ram? Should I buy a External GPU housing and buy a GPU? BTW Gaming is secondary but I do game on PC often. Thanks for the help!

Summary On August 29th, AMD plans on unveiling its next-generation PC products, including the Zen 4 architecture for the Ryzen 7000 CPU series. The “together we advance_PCs” event will be livestreamed on AMD's YouTube channel. Quotes My thoughts This is great news! I'm hoping we get a deep dive on the performance figures, with must needed Cinebench runs. Additionally, I want to see the finalized clock speeds of the various SKUs, as this has been quite a conundrum with claims of up to 5.7GHz when AMD only showed 5.5GHz. We'll also get confirmed pricing numbers hopefully, and this makes sense because we're seeing leaks of Motherboard and CPU prices as of late. Only 13 days to go until the 29th! About two weeks and we will know nearly everything we want to know about Zen 4, AM5, and the 7000 series. On June 6th, YouTuber going by the name mrkeybrd started livestreaming a test of Samsung Z Flip 3's hinge. Since then, various guests appeared on the stream, opening and closing the phone to test durability of the hinge. As of writing this, phone has been opened over 400 thousand times. My thoughts Let't go to 420069! Honestly, it's not very scientific, because of temperature inconsistency, but it's just a fun experiment, going for six days already. Getting NVENC or similar on thunderbolt, without a whole GPU
RedyAu posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hi! This may be a stupid question, but I hope you can point me in the right direction. I have a ThinkPad T15 laptop with a 10th gen i7 in it. It's great, compact, fast, I love it. It has no discrete graphics, however. I've been thinking of buying a thunderbolt EGPU case, and some low-power (for example GTX 1650) GPU, but I was shocked to find out, how much EGPU cases cost. More than a GPU, even in today's world! I really only need NVENC, or some other hardvare accelerated video encode/decode and processing power. I'm not planning on gaming (and certainly not AAA recent titles), but occasionally I need to edit video, or make a livestream of an event. This CPU alone can't handle that, as OBS uses 30-40% just for encode/decode. Does a device like this exist? Or can you recommend some extremely simple EGPU case/cable/anything, that doesn't cost a furtune? -
Guys I have a system which will be assembled like within a week.. Specs: I5 2500k (stock cooler) 8gb 1333mhz ddr3 ram (single channel) Gigabyte h61 mobo (supports max 16gb ram) 120gb SSD 500gb hdd 400w cheap psu Ill stream the possible games using the ultra fast preset on obs with bitrate cranked upto 35000 or somethin... I want to know which all popular games can i both play and livestream using this pc (without GeForce now or somethin). Like please recommed the games along with their genres so I can do more in depth research.. i know there ain't a dedicated GPU for this thing, it's cuz I currently dont have the money to afford one, but I have a GTX 1050 or a t400 in mind which I saw in a recent post on olx, but it's gonna take a while..

Hello LTT forum! I am looking to purchase a new notebook and have my sights set on a Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen 9. It will definitely work for my general use case, but I have one concern. On rare occasions I will need to use this machine to run a livestream through OBS. It is not a complicated stream, two cameras and sound in from a mixer, streaming to youtube at 720p30. Can the 1165g7 (or 1185g7) with integrated Xe graphics and 16 gb RAM handle this task, or do I need to go to something with a discrete GPU? I really appreciate any input any opinions you all have.

Budget (including currency): what I have plus 2/3/4... even 5k it it would make sense Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: - 1st main system for livestream production (multiple obs instances, simultaneously recording and streaming different instances; so multiple encodes at the same time); video editing and 3D software like blender, Houdini, Touchportal... - 2nd system will be for streaming to “twitch”. So, 2nd system will only receive an NDI source from 1st main system and encode it. Just that. Just as a safety measure. - 3rd system is for a professional graphical designer, mostly Illustrator, InDesign, and website creation on online platforms. - *4th system??? Is it possível to have one “setup” that would boot the full system, full cpu, every gpu used (all other systems would be unaccessible while this setup is online)? - **5th system??? I think I should use vDGA for assigning each gpu to each system, but is it possible to also use vSGA? So, system 1/2/3 would be using vDGA, but then I would have another GPU that was being shared for system 5 6 and 7 using vSGA, is it possible? Makes sense? Current Setup CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960x 24core Turbo 4,5GHz Motherboard: Extended-ATX MSI Creator TRX 40 Ram: 4x16 DDR4 3200 MHz CL14 G.Skill Ripjaws V GPU: RTX 2060 Super Why: My girlfriend (graphic designer) wants a new computer (she uses one MacBook with 8gb of ram and a not so recent cpu). She asked me if the new MacBook Pro, retailing at 6k wouldn’t me the best solution. After I died and comeback.. I thought “Well, Linus is using a virtualization solution in his house for wife computer and more, and on office for full editing team.... so, virtualization must be a good option” I think I have a good enough cpu and motherboard for this project, I would essentially need more ram and individually assign gpus. Right? Is this a good idea? Got some hints? I was looking into Titan GPU... maybe? thanks in advance

Looking to buy a Desktop for Livestreaming and gaming on Amazon. I have a budget of $3000 for the desktop. What are my best options to go with? Submit links to the best Desktop pre builts from Amazon under 3k And yes I understand you can get a lot more power and save money if you build it yourself. I just don't want to this time. I already have done it. Maybe again next time.

Someone I know recently told me they were buying a Roland V-8HD video switcher for livestreaming concerts and such. I had never heard of video switchers before, and when he explained it to me, my immidiate response was: "Why don't you just use software?". He couldn't really explain why a hardware switcher is better, as he really isn't an expert on the field(to say the least). I'm certain you can do the same thing he explained(controlling output based on many(in this case 6-8) video scources), but I don't know of any specific programs that will do the job. Is there software that can make up for the lack of a hardware video switcher? If not, why not? I know there is software that can replace some of the functionality of a hardware switcher, what is the benefit of using one? All answers are appreciated!

I watched the Black Friday online shopping live stream last night and I had a question. Linus went with a 2070 Super for around 500 over a 5700 XT. I didn't understand the reasoning behind it. The Asus Strix 5700 XT is going for 449 on Newegg, before a 15 dollar rebate. It has both a higher core and boost clock then the MSI 2070 Super he went with. Looking at the the benchmarks I've seen on Youtube, the performance seems comparable. But Linus made mention that for some reason, the 5700 XT couldn't handle the demand of simultaneous streaming and VR game play. At least, not to the degree a 2070 Super could. So my question is, how does a 2070 Super with lower core clock and boost speeds have improved performance over something like the Strix 5700 XT. I'm considering putting together my first PC build, and the decision Linus made really had me scratching my head.

Hello again, I'm planning to get a USB audio interface for my XLR microphone using for livestreaming. I just got into it so expect me to be newish in these field. I originally had a Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum headset but the USB audio interface doesn't seems to offer and theoretically no USB output for my headphone. So, here comes the problem, will the sounds sync if I plugged my USB headset to the computer USB port with a seperate USB audio interface for XLR microphone?

Greetings people of LTT, I was wondering whether my Canon 1300D DSRL are capable of producing clean HDMI? I understands that it doesn't supports 720p60fps nor 1080p30fps but hey, atleast I can settle with 72030fps with a synchronized output. So, I kinda want to know whether is those findings I found is legit before I went out looking and purchasing hardwares (HDMI cable & dummy battery pack).
