1. First, the specs: R9 3900x ASrock X570 Taichi EVGA CLC280 AIO Fractal Meshify S2 2x16G of G.Skill Trident Z Royal at 3600 Gigabyte RTX 2080 5 Noctua 140mm fans (2 on the radiator, 1 pulling from the bottom of the case, 1 rear exhaust, 1 top exhaust) Now, the issue... EVGA Flow control was having serious issues launching, staying launched, and in general constant instability. I don't know what exactly I did to make it work (uninstalled and reinstalled a dozen times, fresh install of windows, etc) but now it automagically works. Though, now after it has become stable and functioning "correctly" when the ambient tempt drops below 70F/21C and my pc is at idle or very low work loads the CPU reports as cooler than the coolant. Which shouldn't be remotely possible. I do have the radiator mounted to the front of the case so its pulling in fresh cool air. I've seen the CPU go as much as 1.5C cooler than the actual coolant. Adding a load increases the CPU temps above the coolant though. I've attempted contacting EVGA, but so far haven't gotten a response. So my question to all of you, have any of you come across this before? Is it a bad sensor in the coolant or on the motherboard maybe? I haven't had any overheating issues at all. My fan curves are pretty strong, and even while gaming, recording, and streaming all at once I never break 80C on the CPU or the GPU even at 1440p for all of the above. Trying to make sure everything runs smooth for the foreseeable future. This is the most expensive build I have put together by far, and I might just be over thinking it a bit, but I'd rather get some feed back from others before moving forward from here.
2. I built my pc a year and a half ago and it’s been working perfectly but yesterday when I turned it on it was extremely slow. I mean takes ten minutes to open google chrome slow. And then the power just shut off and I booted it back up and was greeted with cpu temperature error. The fans in it are incredibly loud when I turn it on. Now I can’t open the desktop for 15 seconds without it turning off and booting it back up to the message cpu temperature error. I cleaned all the dust out made sure all the fans were working everything is connected fine. I reapplied thermal paste and still nothing works. can anyone help me troubleshoot my problem I’m using an i58600k with the cooler master ml240 liquid cooler. i have never overclocked my cpu. edit: there is also a burning smell from my cpu
3. So this is my first PC with liquid cooling it, I have a Corsair H100i v2. This thing has served me great and its about 3 years old. I just wanna know, do these things have like a set lifespan? I know water slowly evaporates via micropores, how much life does it have left? Is it worth it to service it after so long or is it a case of, once its dead its dead by a new one?
4. hi Guys I dont know if its the right section for the post but... anyway ill try my luck . So I recently bought the Phanteks P350X and am thinking about which CPU fans / case fans should I buy or where to place them. I've seen in the LTT video what is all so possible and what setup what a difference can make. Still, I'm still pretty unsure what exactly is best for the following RIG: Case: Phantek's P350X CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 6x Cores (if more is to ask just look at my profile because everything is detaliert) It is now only the question of whether I should get me an AIO or just full air cooling. And which fans are best for the case. Thanks in advance (edit): would be nice to somehow sync the lights all together on the mobo/software
5. Hi All So I've moved to Beijing and after getting settled and sorting the house, I thought it would be time to arrange a new PC build. I've been liquid cooling for quite a while now and lived in Barcelona for a couple of years which was a bit dusty (much more than the UK..) but Beijing is REALLY dusty. The build will be the typical FPS pushing as many frames as possible build (no streaming so no extra cores needed and want higher clocks) with likely a 3700x or 9700k in a mini ITX (might go with the mini DTX board if going with AMD). As with air, I've never doing anything smaller than a standard ATX and fancy a change (particularly as larger apartments are expensive here!) Listing parts so you know how much surface area I intend to use and would be affected by dust, particularly with fans on the pcie gen 4 boards. If going with water it would be 2x240 or 2x280 rads with 2 fans on each, probably 1x120 for exhaust. If going with air I'd go with a Noctua NH D15s as this is supposed to work with that DTX board, but was also thinking of getting another one and replacing the GPU heatsink after watching the DIY Perks video of this a while ago which was the reason I got interested in air again (really recommend the video). Aside from this I'll probably be putting in some fans to push some air to the coolers but these would likely be low rpm. Taking this into consideration, what are people's experiences with cooling high end hardware in dusty cities? Even though air cooling has more potential to coat your insides with dust, you'd still need airflow on water cooled systems for the chipset, m.2 etc. The air cooled system would be easier to take apart and maintain when the dust did build up enough but I imagine it would build up much faster whereas water would mostly be limited to the rads. Also interested in people's thoughts for the fan configuration and cases, I watched the video Linus and I think Luke did on the dust PCs but that was obviously an extreme test with too many confounding variables and didn't include a water cooled setup. I've seen some people use more unconventional cases that are completely open and resemble a test bench just because it's so much easier to clean.
6. Hello, Can Someone help me or guide me on what to buy and if the parts that I already bought is good for what I'm trying build. I plan to use the gaming rig, well to play games, and also stream and record. For now, I plan to use it for and gaming and recording. I will also use it to stream and record games from my console.( Will have to wait to build a streaming rig as I don't have the cash. and space on my room just yet.) The parts the I already Bought are: Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon CPU : Intel i7 8700k Ram: Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200MHz 16Gb Kit Things that I plan to buy: Graphics Card : MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super Gaming X Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE750 Gold 750W ATX SSD: Samsung EVO Plus 500gb and WD Blue 1TB Fan: NZXT Kraken X52 Case: Phanteks Elipse P350. My question is: Are the Things that I need to buy ok? Is the Wattage on the power supply enough? is the liquid cooling enough? Or do i need to buy another fan? Hope someone can help. Thanks in Advance
7. Hello there im wondering what liquid cooler would fit these measurements. Im building a sleeper and would like to fill this empty spot with something useful. As far as i know its okay to liquid cool from side panal? Here are the measurements and pictures. Im also insecure about hoses being to short and hoses getting bent or stressfully bent.. Keep in mind these parts you see arent the parts im keeping in the case. Its an entirely new build just same case. Measurenents : Length - 2 inches to 11 inches Width - 4 inches Depth - 2 inches deep or 2 and a half Pictures :
8. Hello everyone, this is my review of the Lepa aquachanger 240 AIO. First time hearing Lepa as a brand? You are not alone, and you may think that this is some low quality chinese product. This is not. Lepa is actually Enermax's company, and the AIO I recived was well packaged and feels premium in the hands. It has a 240mm radiator with two 120mm high astetic pressure fan. The block is copper and has a ceramic bearing pump - it's absolutely noiseless. In addition it has red LED lighting so you will know that the pump is working. In the box you will find the mounting hardware for it, mine came with the AM4 compatible one, you should look for it on the box before buying, because the previous revisions only have compatibility up to AM3+. The rubber hose is easily positionable and very rigid with it's interesting materials. It's like an onion ( hello there fellow Shrek fans ), has multiple layers starting from the inside to outside: bendable plastic layer - rubber - copper net - rubber. Installing the AIO was pretty straight forward, but if you stuck in the process the manual will help you step to step. In the box you will also find a PWM fan splitter in case your motherboard only has one PWM connetor, and a molex to 3 pin fan in case you don't have a 3 pin fan header to connect your pump. They also included thermal paste, but I haven't tested it, I went for MX-4. Supported AMD sockets: AM4 / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / AM2 / FM2+ / FM2 / FM1 Supported Intel sockets: LGA 2011 / 1366 / 1156 / 1155 / 1150 / 775 I tested my unit with an AMD FX-8350 overclocked to 4,8Ghz @ 1,332V and compared it with the Arctic Freezer A30 ( With the Same OC ). I used Arctic MX-4 as the thermal paste. The fans were set to 75% with SpeedFan ( normal day use, not too loud but still enough airflow ) Max temperature after 15x cinabench R15 runs: -Lepa AIO: 55 Celsius -Freezer A30: 79 celsius Max temperature after playing the same race against the same bots in Forza horizon 4 ( 30 minute race ) -Lepa AIO: 37 Celsius -Freezer A30: 62 Celsius In conclusion: The Lepa aquachanger 240 is an excelent budget AIO, witch has good build quality and a nice industrial-like look to it. If you look for something flashy this is not your product due to the lack of RGB, but if you want a budget focused AIO I can recommend it ? Pictures: Box, Block, fans and test CPU.
9. I am an extreme noob when it comes to liquid cooling. As in, I have never had anything but air cooling. I am using a build I put together a little over a year ago and am thinking of water cooling it. I've watched hours of videos and picked out most of what I need. There is one question that I have not heard answered, though, in all of the videos. I get all the pros/cons of push, pull, or push/pull....but should your radiator fans be exhausting from the case or intaking into the case? For a little context, my system is an Asrock Z270 board, i7-7700K, GTX 1080 FTW all packed into a Phanteks Eclipse P400S. I currently cool it with a Noctua NHD-15S which does a great job, but it is...ugly. I'd like to get an AIO cooler to save space and look nicer. Before I do, can someone tell me(with that equipment and case), should I have the fans blowing in or out. BTW, the AIO will be mounted in the front as the P400's do not allow for top radiator mounting. Thanks in advance for any help and I apologize if this is in another thread. I couldn't find the info anywhere.
10. I have just recently attached a h55 aio to my dad's cpu as I noticed it was running hot. After downloading various monitoring software, I see that there are inconsistencies in the cpu temp. "Speccy" says the cpu is still idling at 50 c, while "Core temp" reads anywhere between 1 and 30 c. I was curious about this inconsistency, so I downloaded CPUID's hardware monitor. This is where the problem arises. The package is reading at these lower temps, while the cores themselves are running considerable warmer, usually at least a 40 c difference between the core temperatures and the package temperature. I have no clue why this could be, and was wondering if anyone had any possible explanations. I have attached a screenshot of what these temperatures look like when just Pandora radio is running on chrome.
11. So i am about to buy an deepcool castle 360 and want to know what fans it uses. Its this one here: http://www.gamerstorm.com/product/CPULIQUIDCOOLER/2018-10/1286_9932.shtml I think they are cf120's But im not sure.
12. Ever since i saw the the fanless CPU cooler with it's boiling coolent, I have been wanting to develop an off-the-shelf design. R123 freon (Dichlorotrifluoroethane), with a boiling tempature 27.82 °C (82.08 °F), would be ideal for a pumpless liquid cooling solution I believe. As long as you avoid exothermic reactivity in certain materials you don't want in your cooling system anyway. Because it is a liquid at room temperature, it is safe to handle. It has been used in commercial cooling systems for many years.
13. The Open Compute project, The project from the major tech companies to cooperate on server hardware development, has started working on scalable liquid cooling for servers. There are multiple engineering groups working on the parts for liquid cooling and immersion as can be seen in the opencompute project youtube channel There is a nice video summery of the effort in the video OCPSummit19 - EW: Advanced Cooling - Eco-system Enabling of Liquid Cooling Ingredients Maybe Intel or other vendors will allow linus to take a look at what is being done. considering the scale of production it would probably trickle down to consumer hardware sooner or later.
14. So Im buying a new pc this summer. The specs are not certain but as they sit right now this is what I have in mind: -Either Core i7-9700k or Core i9-9900k -Asus ROG Strix Geforce Rtx 2080 OC -2x8gb Kingston HyperX Predator 3000Mhz RAM - HX430C15PB3K2/16 (Temporary, going to replace it with 4x16gb Kingston HyperX Predator 3200Mhz RAM - HX432C16PB3AK4/64) -Asus ROG Strix Z390-F motherboard -Cooler Master 700W MasterWatt Lite 80 plus bronze - MPX-7001-ACABW -WD 5400rpm 4TB 3.5" HDD - WD40EZRZ -Samsung 970 EVO plus 250gb M.2 SSD -NZXT Kraken x72 360mm Liquid Cooling AIO Loop -Antec Dark Avenger Window RGB case - DA601 Now, with this pc Im gonna be doing lotsa stuff. Streaming, gaming, editing, rendering, programming etc. My first question is: Should I go for the i9 or the i7? Its primary purpose is going to be gaming and streaming, secondary coding, editing and rendering. This might change in the future, but not soon. Second question: Is the Kraken x72 a bit too overkill? Thing is, I live in Serbia, Europe. I cant really order things online since our president is kind of a douchebag. That said, the difference between an x72 and an x62 is over 50 bucks, so it would save me some coin if I were to go for the other one, but I really want my cpu nice and cool. Will an x62 cool the i9 even when its overclocked? Third question: Is this power supply okay? Ive googled it and nothing really came up on the official page so does anyone have it without any problems out there? I cant really tell coz the store Im buying it from doesnt have any reviews and I really want an expirienced person's say in all this. Fourth question: Are 1500rpm okay for the radiator? The nzxt radiators all come with black fans, which is okay but I really want my rig Rgb'd out. Maybe because Im still a kid who just cant get enough unicorn barf left and right but I wanna replace those 2000rpm fans with 1500rpm rgb ones. Now is this a safe move? Will my cpu still be cool even with 1500rpm fans on the radiator? Or should I stick with the ones I have and forget grow up? Final question: Is this case alright? Ive heard reviews talking about how amazing it is and then other reviews saying how its awful and cheap! Its almost incredible how opposing the reviews are on this thing, I havent really seen anything like it yet.. So please if anyone has this case, what is your opinion?
15. I am currently in the process of planing my first custom watercooling loop, using a 240mm kit from EK as well as one of their radeon 7 blocks. This loop is only for my gpu, as i already have a more than adequate 240mm aio, so i was wondering if there was a way i could have the fans on this loop respond to the gpu temperature reading as opposed to being at 100% 24/7. The block covers most of the pcb, so rewiring the existing fan connections is unlikely to work, if even possible. Any information/advice would be appreciated System specs: CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 @4.22 GHz CPU Cooler: Deepcool - CAPTAIN 240EX RGB Motherboard: Asus - ROG Crosshair VII Hero Memory: Team - 32 GB @3200 MHz Storage: Crucial - P1 1 TB M.2 NVME Storage: Hitachi - Ultrastar 1 TB 3.5" Video Card: Radeon VII Case: Fractal Design - Meshify C Power Supply: EVGA G2 650
16. Hello Everyone. Unfortunately, despite being in an industry where the hardware is put under constant stress (Motion Graphic Design and VFX) I don't have the budget for a new system and I'm rocking an i7 4790K (stock speed) paired to a MSI Z97 Gaming 5. Recently I have started using some effects and techniques that put extra strain on the CPU and I have been experiencing 99° Celsius (210° F) and that can't be good.... I already have air conditioning active and a cooling fan blowing on the computer case but it's still not good enough (very hot place I live in). I wanted to purchase a double slot (2 fans) liquid cooling system for my CPU, but being the i7 4790K a bit old I'm having a hard time finding a model which is compatible with the old LGA 1150 socket my motherboard has. Do you have any recommendations for some models that are available on mainstream buying platforms? (preferably Amazon, as I have Prime). I only know of the Corsair H100i, which doesn't seem to be available at the moment. I want something functional, I don't want to spend extra money on cosmetic features like RGB and stuff (of course if only an RGB model is available I'd still get it). Purchasing a new cooling solution is quite urgent; I can't comfortably wait for products to come back in stock. Being based in Italy (unfortunately for me...) it would be extra nice if the article was available on https://www.amazon.it/ref=nav_logo Thanks.
17. Hey guys, Recently, I've been thinking about converting my 1070 Ti from fan cooling to liquid cooling, and all I know is that since I don't have any other water cooling in my PC, I need to get a hybrid cooler. I have an MSI 1070 Ti Titanium 8G; this one in particular (from MSI's website): https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1070-Ti-Titanium-8G I love my 1070 Ti and I want it to last a long time. Recently, games that ran at no higher than 68C are now running at 74C-81C. Games like Overwatch (was 68C max, now runs up to 79C), League of Legends (stable 68C max, but I feel that's too high for this game even at max settings), ARK Survival Evolved (poorly optimized game, runs upward of 82C). From what I read, these numbers aren't dangerous for the card, even if running that hot for hours. I just don't feel comfortable with numbers that high when games used to run much cooler. Maybe game updates or something made them more GPU-intensive, I don't know. There have been no changes that I made to the game's settings, and I've always run these games at 1440p. Perhaps I'm overthinking things and shouldn't be concerned unless the card hits 90C? Either way, ultimately my question is can I get a hybrid liquid cooler for my 1070 Ti? I can easily find tutorials on youtube but they are for blower cards and that is not what my card is. This is my first time opening up and modding a PC component AND my first time with liquid cooling on any component, so I'm very nervous about doing so, and want to make sure I don't break the card in the process. Thank you!
18. Hey guys, I will buy a R7 3700X on release and I'm not sure which sort of cooling I should use in the future. For air cooling, I would choose the beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4, for liquid cooling I would use the Corsair H150i Pro. Both have very similar temperatures, as much as I know. Now my concern is airflow. I have the Cooler Master MasterCase H500 with the Mesh equipped of course. This case has 2x 200mm front fans and one 120mm exhaust at the rear and has one of the best temperatures for stock cases. What would be smarter, top mounted H150i Pro or the air cooler? Also, should I buy extra exhaust fans when choosing the Dark Rock Pro 4?
19. Hi.. I want to ask for AIO configuration for Fractal Design Meshify C ,What is best ? 1.Set AIO on top of case as exhaust , or 2.Set AIO on Front of case as intake ? And Need some reccomendation for AIO , For now i have my eyes on these : 1.Corsair H115i RGB Platinum 2.NZXT Kraken X62 3.Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360R RGB 4.Enermax Liqtech II 280/360 Which have the best performance ? And of course ez installation too Thanks
20. I need to spec a PC for my work. It'll have several (2 or 3) 2080ti's, and a 12-core CPU. All this will be liquid-cooled, and so I need a case with adequate radiator mounts and space for plenty of additional drives. Nice-to-haves: Tempered glass, RGB lighting, built-in coffee maker. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
21. I have purchased an alpha cool reservoir that needs a separate D5 pump (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWWTZVU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Now the pump that supposedly works with the reservoir according to alpha cools web page dose not have good news in regards of quality (dies in 6 months, noisy, etc.). As in I would like to know if I can use off brand D5 pumps with the reservoir and not have problems.
22. I’m having a issue filling this loop. I have the pump at max and have been moving the case around on different sides but no luck. I have tried using 2 different pumps. Do I need to have 2 pumps for this case since it’s so big? It’s a thermaltake tower 900. I’m using thermaltake pacific d5 pump resivoir combo currently but was using a enermax pump. I’ve power cycled and everything but no luck. I’m about tempted to just stick 2 pumps in different places to see if that works. Pictures are with the pump on. Nothing moves lol.
23. Hi.. My rig is like this , havent build it yet but already have the part Processor : AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Mobo : Asus ROG Strix B450-Gaming GPU : MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z Case : Corsair Crystal 280X Ram : Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3000Mhz My question is , for my rig is it enough to use Stock Cooling From Ryzen 5 2600 ? (Will change pre applied Thermal paste tho) , Or i need AIO Liquid Cooling ? planning to use corsair H100i RGB platinum in the future , if stock cooling is enough for now , not going to buy Liquid cooling for now then... i use my pc for casual gaming , not gonna OC anything on my computer... Thanks for the help
24. Hey guys, i'm brand new to this forum and I need some advice for my liquid AIO cooler. So I have a Ryzen Threadripper 1950X cpu and I bought the enermax liqtech TR4 360 (the first generation). Of course, with anyone owning this cooler, it's infamous for it's issue with corrosion, leaks, etc. So I sent it out back to enermax for a replacement. They sending me the Enermax Liqtech TR4 II 360 (second gen), and supposedly they fixed the issues that plagued the first gen models. Personally, I'm still very skeptical, but since im getting it for free from my warranty, I won't complain too much. BUT, I do know that this AIO cooler uses cooper plate and aluminum radiator, and that metal combination is a recipe for disaster for corrosion. So i'm thinking of buying a copper radiator from amazon and replace the aluminum radiator that comes with the cooler, just so that the cooler has the same metal combination. Is this wise to alter the product? honestly, i don't care if I void warranty. Any suggestion of what copper radiator I should buy? I'm not very familiar with liquid cooling modification, so I don't know how to change the coolant inside the cooler system, or I don't know what kind of coolant liquid I should get. Also, making a custom liquid cooler is too much for me to handle (plus i need to get a cooler asap so I can start working again) Hopefully you guys can help me and thank you very much.
25. (question/problem 1) I'm looking at getting an AIO but the reviews are telling me that pumps break way too fast ive seen people talk about pumps and fans breaking from first use all the way to 2 months and I feel like for 220 dollars for a 360 AIO we should expect some better quality I would like to hear what people have to say about this I get that maybe they just got that one bad AIO but its still a thought...….. (question/problem 2) I find my tower style cooler to be good enough I'm running my non delided 8700k at 4.75GHZ and the max temp was like 70c and a min of 38c should I just find a better fan or maybe a push pull config?
