I am questioning the new softboxes that the guys have bought for the new WAN Show set up. Currently looking at upgrading current set up and seeing the quality in the lighting for the price paid for mentioned in the most recent WAN show I am interested in knowing more about them! Start at 2:28 for the clip. Also, It's probably obvious but I'm new to the forum! following LTT for quite a while just never thought about joining the forum. If anyone knows maybe what the lighting set up is or has recommendations - gladly appreciated!

I bought this one because it had really good reviews but it was sort of DOA so I returned it: https://www.amazon.com/Nanoxia-CoolForce-Ultra-Bright-Rigid/dp/B00TWII6UW/ sort of DOA in that the solder joints for the main power connector were not good - I had to hold the plug on with pressure at a certain angle to get it to light up. I could have fixed it but for ~ $25 and a 2 week wait while it slowly shipped from Germany for a very small and DOA unit.... decided to just get my money back. Anyway, do you guys have any suggestions on good UV LED strips for a Define R6 TG case? I used XSPC UV blue in it and want to really see the UV pop so I think 2 strips will be necessary.

Hi so I just purchased a single Corsair HD120 RGB fan, without the controller, now my question is, will I be able to use it without the controller? Is there any software that will allow me to adjust the lighting without it? is the installation more complicated than simply plugging in the fan header to my mobo? is there any weird wiring stuff I need to do? or have I just wasted my money

Hello, I'm new to PC and tried out Asus Aura to sync my Motherboard, Ram, and Fan RGB Lighting to each other. The program syncs the motherboard and fans but the ram cannot even sync to each other. This was a minor issue to me seeing as the ram never synced before using the software, the motherboard had a cool multicolor rainbow effect, and the fans synced with each other on their own so I thought I would just switch back to default. I cannot. Switching to default only last a few seconds before reverting to whatever setting I have applied currently and I am stuck with lighting that I do not want. None of the settings I tried have the desired motherboard lighting that I liked. Uninstalling Asus Aura and rebooting changed nothing. I can disconnect the ram from the applied lighting setting within the software but not the motherboard or the fans. Can anyone suggest and ideas to help? Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. - Dakota

Hi everyone,So I'm planning to buy the Phanteks RGB LED combo pack for case lighting. On newegg there are two different products:https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIACJ...The difference between the two products I can see is that the second one is a bit expensive, it ships from China and the most importantly, the package content info says that it has a '1 x Coding Switch'. That is where I have the problem.I checked the Phanteks website and the products there but I couldn't find any RGB LED product mentioning a coding switch or a SATA cable(visible in the package photos). The product code(PH-LEDKT_CMBO) is mentioned both these products so I'm confused whether this is a legit product from Phanteks.I'm planning to buy this from China through taobao.com and they have both products available so need to know which one to buy.Thank you all and sorry for the long post. PS: I have an Asus Mobo so I need to make sure that I buy all the cables, adapters and whatnot with the package.

Hello, I've seen threads like this previously on both this forum and others such as the Asus Republic of Gamers forms and even the Corsair forums, but so far, I haven't come to any conclusion, something I find interesting is that I couldn't find anyone using the same motherboard as I have, I don't know if this is a motherboard-specific issue or if this originates from software. The title says it all, upon starting up the Asus AURA software, it crashes, not a window or anything, it gives me an "ASUS Aura has stopped working, checking for a solution to the problem" which stays there for 2 or 3 seconds, and then disappears. I've tried everything in the compatibility options, and I've also run the troubleshooter to no avail. I went on the Asus ROG forums where I found a post where the issue was fixed simply by reinstalling the software a few times or changing it's directory to be directly inside the "C:\" drive, instead of under "C:\Programfiles(x86)\" I tried this several times to no avail. I was recommended to completely power down the system and take out the PSU cable until the motherboard lights turned off, I tried this multiple times and also tried re-installing the program as well, again to no avail. I considered clearing the CMOS and trying again but that seemed to work for nobody, so I went to the next solution, install a different version of AURA which came with my motherboards drivers disc. So I inserted it, and installed all utilities and reinstalled all drivers for good measure, leaving out Norton security because I didn't need it, and it didn't help, I still kept on completely powering down the system for every restart, again, for good measure. After referring to the corsair forums, I reached the conclusion that corsair link might be interfering with AURA, so I uninstalled it, with great difficulty, thanks a lot corsair by the way for continually re-running your damn programs after I've ended the task and terminated the process tree, but whatever. I tried again, reinstalling both the newer and older versions of AURA and completely powering down the system before starting it. I have removed every other RGB light control related program installed on my PC with the exception of Gigabyte's RGB fusion, simply because it's indispensable for my graphics cards. At this point you're probably wondering when the hell I'm going to tell you my specs and if you've gotten to this point I thank you for your patience, and the point at which I'll tell you my specs is now: Intel i9 7900X @ 3.3GHZ Asus PRIME X299 Deluxe Corsair Hydro Series H110i GTX 280mm AIO liquid cooler G.Skill TridentZ RGB @ 3200MHZ 32GB (4x8) in Quad Channel (X.M.P enabled) 480GB Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD WD Black 2TB 7200RPM HDD WD Black 1TB 7200RPM HDD WD Green 1TB 5400RPM HDD Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM HDD 2x Gigabyte GTX 980Ti Xtreme Gaming Windforce Cards (SLI) Corsair Graphite Series 780T Black Case Corsair AX860i Power Supply Some Generic LG DVD Read/Write drive I got from my second cousin 4 years ago Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello! I've have been looking for a RGB strip that can connect into my motherboard via dedicated 5-pin connector. The mobo in question is Gigabyte H270 gaming 3. At the moment I have 12 meters of RGB strip, but i can't find a suitable connector that can be connected in that 5-pin. By now i just found phanteks cabel that can do that, but the problem is that the cabel cost 3$, but the postage costs 33$ and I dont want to pay 36$ for a 20 cm cabel. My system is in NZXT S340 Elite case that has glass panel, and I would like to put strips around the inner edge of the case. I have put the section of that 5-pin from the manural and the pricing for the cabel. Please help!!

Hi Guys, So I got my new PC built last month and everything seemed to work ok. Although after couple of weeks, Aura software stopped working and crashing from time to time but once I restarted my system it worked fine. I used it to control the lighting of my MoBo and my RAM. Last evening I got a message you'd normally get when you plug in a new audio device even though I didn't plug anything. Then few minutes later I noticed that my lighting on the RAM and Mobo is stuck(it was set to a Rainbow effect with a gradient). So I restarted the system thinking it's the usual problem with the Aura software. After the restart, my MoBo lights was stuck in one color and my RAM was going through the default color cycle. Since I saw alot people saying to have the most updated version of Aura, I installed that(didn't know about the new version that come out recently). After which the software was detecting the RAM but not the Mobo. After another restart, Aura was detecting the MoBo but no RAM. At this point I hit the refresh button on the Aura software which made the software to detect both components. I was happy and the light show began until this morning when I started my PC only to see the MoBo is being detected again. I hit the refresh button couple of times which didn't do anything but Aura crashed and now I'm getting an error 'Aura stopped working' everytime I run it and sends a crash report to DrDump website. Do anyone have an idea what's going on and any solution for it? My specs are Intel Core i5 8400 2.8GHz, Asus Prime Z370 A, Teamforce Nighthawk RGB 16GB (8GBx2), Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8GB, Windows 10 Sorry for the extremely long story but any help will be great. Thank you all.... Edit: I have RGB Fusion and Logitech Gaming Software installed for controlling the lights on the Graphics card and my peripherals.

Hi there! I was wondering if the light from a 140mm corsair LL fan would be able to be seen through the radiator of an AIO such as the NZXT X62. I have to install them on the other side of the radiator as has to be done with the X62 in the NZXT S340 Elite case. The 140mm fans are installed in a position as to where the actual rgb part of the fan is hidden behind the rad ^ So would it be worth getting the fans for the rgb? Or are there better alternatives that would either yield better results in cooling or give off more light? Thanks again!

Hello guys, is there any way to sync my Logitech G403 + G213 Prodigy RGB with my Crosshair VI Hero Motherboard lighting effects? Any 3rd party program or somenthing like that?, thank you!

Hey everyone! I have a Corsair Strafe Keyboard with a Corsair mouse. They have always linked together which I thought was cool! Corsair has this iCUE software that (I think) recently became a thing. Where Far Cry 5 will sync the RGB on these two products with what is happening in the game. Love that! I have recently upgraded parts, I got an MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon MB and NZXT Kraken x62, My case is the bequiet! Dark Base Pro 900. All of these things have RGB capabilities. I was wondering if there was a way to sync all of these lights together inside the iCUE software so my whole setup will be affected with events in Far Cry 5.

First, My Current Build is: Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro TG PH-ES614PTG PSU: Corsair CX-850M V2 RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 2 x 8GB CPU: i7-8700k Mobo: GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 Cooler: Cooler Master- MasterAir MA610P RGB CPU Cooler Storage: 250GB M.2 NVME Samsung 960 EVO SSD GPU: GIGABYTE AORUS GTX-1080ti Extreme (Don't have yet) I'm wanting to add a Corsair Lightning Node Pro around the lining of the inside glass, replace the stock 140mm fan in the back with a Corsair HD140, and put 3 in the top. My question is, how would I go about syncing them to the mobo like I have the cooler? I have my cooler plugged into the rgb header beside the ram, and it works amazing, but I only have 1 more header and i'm not that informed when it comes to what I would need? Side question, my case has a button on the front panel to operate an led strip, could I use this to change the mobo's led lighting (I dont think I can, but any info is good info). Thank you and sorry If this is a facepalm question... <3

I recently found this ETC Horizon HZ-SWP controller board: https://imgur.com/a/91jkIHm and this Parallel-to-DMX box: Exterior: https://imgur.com/a/pXwkSQX Interior: https://imgur.com/a/2X08vGv At the auditorium in which I work. They used this several years before I came there. I have spent a few hours trying to find documents about these or applications that may be able to communicate with these. If you think I am crazy for trying to resurrect something this old when I can buy a simple FTDI-based USB-to-DMX on amazon ( http://a.co/1cwhgZs) on the cheap, I agree. Nevertheless, I think it would be cool if I could get it to work. I was using an HP Win10x64 laptop connected to a dock that had Parallel (Printer port) and a Serial connection on it with no luck. I tried many open-source and free DMX controller softwares as well. Any help is appreciated! Thanks! (BTW this is a direct copy of my post on /r/technology, but I am a reddit noob and don't have enough karma so that post got deleted RIP)

So i had this great idea that what if you could have LED strips be set to specific colors or to gradually change colors based on the Temperature reading cumming from your PC. For example, a PC at idle would have it's LED's Set to blue or light green and then as the PC begins to heat up, the colors would gradually shift over to reds. I started looking around for something like this but have come up empty as i just can't find anything with how i am wording this. I don't think something like this would be too hard has most motherboards have an LED header or you could run multiple LED strips seperatly for different temp sensors through cards or even USB controllers. If Linus sees this, you should defiantly see if this could be a video as this would be sweet, imagine a PC case where a LED strip illuminate the front panel is set to CPU Temps and GPU Temps are shown through Internal LED's illuminating the insides. I know so many people, my self included, who would love this feature as it would give us a visual representation/que of temps without having to open and sustain a monitoring software. Imagine this on a Render farm in a firm where one glance will tell you that the Station is in use or still working based on its temps. or a Server rack where each mounted portion ( HDD, GPU, etc.) could be illuminated via a strip up[ front based on color sense for temps. This may just be the next big step for RGB everything, giving a real purpose to having you PC look like a techno nightclub. Feel free to steal my idea for your own, just give me a setup of this

Hello, I have the BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900 Full Tower case and although it's been fantastic so far, I'm wondering if anyone has had luck modifying the built-in lighting system. It has a custom controller for the fans and lighting, with some front-panel buttons to control fan speed and one of 5 preset lighting colors. The lights themselves are strips that don't use a standard RGB header. In an ideal situation I'd like to be able to add lighting strips that synchronize with Asus Aura Sync, but also are controllable with the front-panel button. Since the two systems (customer case controller and mobo RGB header) are effectively isolated, I'm wondering if there's any way to get this working somewhat seamlessly. I'm inclined to expect the answer "No, unless you want to do a lot of hardware modding" but I'm interested in everyone else's take. Thanks all

Hello friends, I'm looking to add a couple LED strips to my case, and I was hoping if I could get some help on compatibility. I have a corsair keyboard, and was wondering if the phanteks strips would be able to be controlled by the same software. If not, what should I be looking to buy? https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_COMBO-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1521682045&sr=8-6&keywords=rgb+strips https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qdhQ7W

Hi All, So I bought a CM MasterCase Pro 6 Blue version as the case for my new build. I want to replace the front bottom blue LED strip and the rear blue LED exhaust fan with a RGB LED strip and a RGB fan. Replacing the fan is a straight forward thing but I'm not sure how to replace the front bottom LED strip. Has anyone done this before coz I'm having a hard time finding any guides online on how to do this. If someone has done this before or can direct me in the right direction, that'll be a big help. I want to know how to replace it and hook it up to the Mobo so that I can control the colors with Asus Aura. Thanks...

December 2017 Here begins my story of wanting better RBG lighting for my 805i. For Christmas I got a NZXT Hue+ as I thought it would be needed for the Kraken I planned on buying on boxing day but I soon found out that was not the case. I tried to plug the Hue+ into my current lighting that was said up, but it was either really dim or incorrect colors, so I decided to leave it be. When I got the Kraken, I was blown away by CAM's software and music visualization. I was not used to it. If you have ever seen In WIn's software for lighting, it was a joke. Unpolished, lacking of feature and a pain in the butt to use. So I just kept it on static red. March 2018 Eventually In Win's Halo software decided not to work anymore. Even reinstalling did not work. So I gave up. I went to find the Hue+ box with some of NZXT's lighting in it, enough to cover the perimeter of the case. So I ripped out the old lighting and put NZXT's in. Even with the infinity mirror not on, it was beautiful and I was impressed by NZXT once again. I knew I had to upgrade the infinity mirror. So I did the measurements and I needed 1200mm of lighting to cover the infinity mirrors perimeter. April 2018 I finally had the balls to go in and work on the mirror. For about $58 CAD I got two packages of NZXT lighting strips. When I took off the glass panel, it was at this point I really regretted having bad cable management. I pulled the two HDD's out of the drive hard drive cage. I unscrewed the two thumb screws which released the sub-panel (Can I call it that?) my radiator was screwed onto. So I didn't have to take of the radiator, but it was still attached to the motherboard which was a stupid lazy way to do it. I took the hard drive cage out and ripped a screw out of the case that I didn't see. I broke the rule of never forcing anything. But It wasn't the end of the world as it was still stable with one screw down. I unscrewed the the infinity mirror which was held in by four screws and was fairly easy to get off. It was harder pulling the RGB wire through the front panel I/O (which has little to no space) Now there were four screws. Two on the top, two on the bottom holding in this bracket which was stopping the one way mirror from falling. I removed the first mirror, which was the one way mirror. The mirror being on the inside with a white opaque In Win stamp on it and the glass window facing outside I had access to the RGB strips that was between the O.W. mirror and the bottom mirror. I had to remove the strips. But my dumb*** never noticed that there was these small aluminum brackets holding the strips down to make sure they wouldn't droop. I destroyed one. Bent it ninety degrees. So I had to tediously pluck each one by one using some wire pliers (needed the grip to loosen them). After that I had to pull the strips. Which were help on by the strongest adhesive I have ever seen. Nearly ripped off my nails trying to get the adhesive off, so strong in fact, I am using the little bits that are left to hold on the NZXT strips. I put the NZXT strips in and repeated the tedious job of putting the brackets back on minus one. I put the O.W. mirror back on top. Then put the big bracket on. With the mirror completed I pulled the extension wires for the strips through the old hole the original lighting used. But, breaking the never force anything rule yet again, I bent the 5v pin. Wasn't an issue as I carefully bent it back. This part was really difficult. Aligning the mirror back with the case then screwing it in. Took about twenty minutes. (Yeah, Yeah I know it is sad) I re-screwed the radiator panel and hard drive cases back in. All excited I go to pull up the RGB connector to the HUE+. It was male to male. IT WAS MALE TO MALE. I just wasted an hour assembling the case again. At this point it is 2:00 A.M. and I wanted to cry. In fact I probably did. So, I repeated everything on the list above and flipped the strips properly. Put it back together. At this point, it is 3:30 A.M. Finally, I was done. I turned on the rig and the infinity mirror turned on and it was beautiful. So beautiful. Thanks for reading if you did

The heck is going on? The clip is at least 2-3mm too wide. For comparison, here it is (left) next to another HUE+ cable that came with the AER fans (right, fits just fine):
