I'm gong to build a new system, in my old system I have an i5 3340 dated? I know, either I keep it that way or I would upgrade to better one. I was looking forward for i5 4790 but it uses LGA 1150 chipset. Knowing the fact that I got limited budget I can't afford buying a new MOBO. So, if Im going to buy a new CPU for the system what would it be? It has to be using LGA 1155

Will A 1150 Intel Processor Work On a Intel 1155 Processor Board? I've Got A LGA1155 MOBO But I Can't Pay 500$ For A I5 Or I7. And I Found A 1150 Celeron And Wondering If It Will Work. I Read that 1155 is Forward Compatible with 1150

Hey! So I've had a issue with my PC for a while now, through trial and error I've discovered the culprit. I'm 99% sure it's my motherboard. So off I go thinking it would be easy... There are NO 1155 socket motherboards being sold in England. The candidate I had in mind was the 'AsRock Z77' but I can't seem to find it. This brings me to my question; Would I be better off getting a new, more mordern CPU and Motherboard or paying the extra risk/shipping of ordering something from overseas? The CPU runs just fine and I have overclocked it to around 4GHz. All components have been replaced other than the Mobo and CPU, which leads me to believe these are the culprits. I'm heavily leaning on the Mobo since apparently there were lots of issues with the particular series. PCPartPicker List (List is a tad incorrect, I've since upgraded the RAM and the CPU is infact a 'K') CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor Motherboard: Asus P8P67 (REV 3.0) ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

Hello guys! Since my old and also second pc isn't booting I assume that is the Motherboard so I'm looking of an LGA155 Motherboard (ATX or Micro ATX). Thanks

Ok, i know the Asus Sabertooth Z77 has been released wayback and most likely, i wouldn't find a brand new unit. Here's the thing, i have an Intel Core i7 3770 that's only 3 months old after we bought it and used it (actually using it right now) and was wondering what good motherboards are good for LGA 1155 processors until i came across the Sabertooth Z77. It is quite perfect since it has USB 3.0 ports, supports RAID 0, has 2 PCI-E 16x slots, supports SLI and some other good stuff. It piqued my interest, yet have been frustrated lately that i can't find one, even used units. I have seen some rigs that has that specific motherboard that they still use up to now and wouldn't give it up, haha... Now here's my question..........DOES ANY ONE OF YOU STILL HAVE IT IN GOOD CONDITION, COMPLETE ACCESSORIES AND JUST LYING AROUND SOMEWHERE IN YOUR HOUSE? haha, you can feel my desperation on that all caps sentence... yes, I AM desperate to find one because im thinking of having the thermal armor painted white to fit my black and white theme build. I don't know how to go about this if you have one, i think i can do Paypal then have it shipped here... or if you're really generous, i can handle the shipping and handling fee. .....................................either that or i'm stuck with the crappy Asus H61M-K, lmao!

Hey, Im trying to build a budget hackintosh. I was wondering if the intel core i5 2500k would work with the Gigabyte Z87-HD3 motherboard. I know that they both have the same socket type but i don't know if the 2500k will work with a Z87 chipset.

Ok so im selling most of my computer stuff off and i have a dude picking up a cooler i used to use on my 4690K which is LGA 1150 and the processor he is using in his new build is a LGA 1155 one so will the cooler work for him(i imagine not but who knows) hes gona buy it anyway but i just want to know so i can tell him

So after looking at multiple benchmarks I've concluded that moving from my a10-6800k to something like an i5-2550k and a Z77 motherboard would be considered an upgrade. Would you guys agree with this assessment? It's quite a bit of an older processor and chipset but it seems to still hold itself up well, the prices definitely reflect that. I won't be able to make any sort of upgrades for a while, but it's something I plan on doing, and I like to check all my options beforehand. I welcome all discussion and recommendations you guys might have.

so my current set up is running a ga-p67a-ud5-b3 Lga 1155 with a core i5 3470 ivy bridge @3.5 stock with 8 gigs of kingston KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX ram @ 1600mhz GTX760FTW card WDB 1tb 7200 windows 7 pro so currently this thing has a duel bios currently running F8, originally this board had issues running 5 years ago with boot loop running F2 bios, flashed with F8 ran fine until now. i haven't even had the chance to overclock (turbo boost) in very large quotations but the issue is i cant safely turn this tower off without it boot looping and "eventually" booting with the second bios. any help would be great as i REAAAAAALLY hope the bios isn't pooched as from what i read online so far that's the case, if you guys can help me figure this out i will be much grateful. currently i have tested ram, cpu video card and hdd to find no issues i even reclocked ram to stock 1333 just in case. i even and including re-flashed F8 and flashed to F7 with the same issue. ill be happy if it is a ram issue saves me from hunting down another lga 1155 which btw is a pain in the dink! HEEEEEELP!

I recently bought a motherboard from Amazon for a new system i'm building, I have bought an i5 2400 to go in it, once I boot it up I get a message saying the CPU isn't supported which i though was weird so I go to Asus' website to find the CPU support list and I couldn't find the model on their English website anywhere, I could find similar models and the i5 2400 isn't listed. I go to Google to search for it and I find it on Asus' Spanish website and the CPU support list claims to support the i5 2400 so at this point i'm just confused so I turn to the manual and it says the max TDP for that board is 77w and the i5 2400 is 95w. Once I press f1 to get pass the error message the PC works fine. Is it safe for me to continue using this board with this CPU? http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JFOFKI4

Hi i am currently running a asus p8z77-v pro motherboard with a 3570k running at 4.5ghz together with a zotac gtx 970 at 1440mhz core. I am looking to potentially upgrade to a sli setup with another 970 and i know that my motherboard supports sli, however i understand that my 3570k has 16 gen 3 pcie lanes to work with and if i run sli, both the cards will run at 8x speed. but the thing is i have two 1x cards ( one of them being a network card and the other being a sound card). will i have enough lanes to run all my cards at once or will i have to remove both my 1x cards to run sli? and another question, sli setups are limited by the slowest clocked card right? meaning if one card normally runs at 1500mhz and the other runs at 1440mhz, when they are slied they will both run at 1440mhz right?

Ok so the build listed in my profile is what I'm rocking right now, the whole thing was built from craigslist parts. the Core i3-2100 and intel motherboard were bought at the same time. I can't afford to upgrade my motherboard and cpu to a modern i5 at the same time I am trying to find a core i5 sandy bridge, that will fit my LGA1155 socket. there are none for sale individually near me in california that I have found. has anyone upgraded their PC and willing to sell me their old i5 sandy bridge cpu? I know its quite an old part by now but I'm hoping someone has one laying around after an upgrade. I do some fairly heavy photo and HD video editing for my business via this PC and the core i3 is starting to negatively impact my work, but I'm also not bringing in enough money to just buy an altogether new PC and expense it.

I've done a shit ton of research on mATX motherboards with an LGA1155 socket in it (yeah, it's an older socket) and it seems i've either done too much research on it and have no idea which one to choose, OR i'm just plain stupid since i've never built an mATX machine before. I've always had ASUS motherboards and loved them, however, i've also been looking at the possibility of going MSI or ASRock (although, i've heard bad things with bloatware? in ASRock motherboards). Any info. you guys got for me, i'm ready to absorb it! Other info. you guys may need; Case - Corsair High Airflow 240 CPU - i7-2600k Mem. - 4x4GB DDR3 RAM GPU - GTX970 (unsure which brand i'm getting yet, but it'll be MSI/ASUS/EVGA) *wouldn't mind more than 1 SATA 6GB/s I'm also located in Canada, so keep that in mind before linking suggestions. Thanks for all the help!

Hey all, I recently bought an LGA 1155 ASUS motherboard labeled "for parts or not working" on eBay. Seller described the damage being only in the socket, specifically some bent pins here and there. While trying to fix it, some of the pins were literally impossible to lift without damaging, leaving 3 to break off from their little holes. The other pins that were bent are fixed I believe, but I am unsure if the missing pins that broke off will kill any potential in resurrecting the board. So that leads me to my question, can a motherboard operate without a few broken pins?

Hello all, I was looking for a cheap 1155 motherboard to go with my locked i5. Would this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/DELL-OPTIPLEX-790-MOTHERBOARD-D28YY-SYSTEM-MAIN-BOARD-LGA-1155-/281691217382?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41961adde6) be suitable? I don't need any fancy features so this would seem OK to go with. What do you guys think?

So I am about to order all the parts to my build and i noticed like an idiot the the 4790k cpu I wanted was LGA 1155 not LGA 1150 on my z-97-pro mobo and I was wondering if someone could help me by telling me if it is compatible.

So I have an Intel i5 2320 still in its retail box that my uncle gave me. Now after Christmas I am building a computer and I don't have all that much money, so my question is: Would it be good to go with the old lga 1155 even tho there isn't an upgrade path, but there is a price savings? Please let me know.

Hi all. I was wondering what the best motherboard that you can still buy (in the UK) that supports SLI for my 3570k. I currently have a ASRock Pro4 that I can't SLI with, and If I did a bit more looking forward in my build I would of gone for one that you could. Thanks

I want to build a computer for my younger brother so we can play video games in LAN/Online and record gameplay and his current setup is CPU: Intel core 2 quad q660 @2.6Ghz RAM:6Gb ddr2 Storage: Intel ssd 320 160gb and 250Gb HDD PSU:500w generic crappy. MOBO: Basic intel desktop board (no O.C. options at all.) GPU: GT640 It is not bad considering he is playing with a 17' inch monitor (not 16:9) with max res of 1280x1024. For the CPU + Mobo + Ram (4GB) I spent $125 **used** but good, the other stuff I already had it so I dont considere it as something I recently spent on. The next setup would be CPU:Intel core i5 3470 @3.2Ghz RAM:8Gb DDR3 Storage: Intel ssd 320 160gb and 250Gb HDD **same PSU:500w generic crappy. **same MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H61 to be honest I don't know which exact model would be GPU: GT640 **same This one would cost me CPU+Mobo+RAM (4Gb because I already have another 4Gb stick) for $ 150 the motherboard it is supposed to be brand new but ram and CPU are used. Basically intended for gaming but not necessarily for high end remember that he would use a 17 inch monitor and he is just 14 years old and he doesnt bother too much for graphics as long as ir runs smoth I have a personal higher end rig since I do bother about everything. the true question here is... does it really worth the change? not necessarily for the $$$.

Is it possible? I am looking to do a cheap, riskless overclocking rig with my leftover Z77 Pro3 and some other stuff and I was curious as to if it was possible. Also, should I get a Celeron G1620, Pentium G2020, or a Pentium G2120?

Today, I am reviewing the Intel Core i3-2120 3.3Ghz Dual-Core Processor. Before I start, I'd like to explain why I am reviewing this instead of my i5-4570. I am reviewing this because I have had this for almost two years, and am much more familiar with it, having done two builds using it. This is in comparison to my i5, which I have only had for a month or two. Once I hit three months, I will definitely review it. Now, let me start. The i3 2120 is a Sandy Bridge LGA1155 Processor. It is part of the Intel Core series, which are optimized towards gaming, workstations and high-end office machines. I bought this processor for £90, and I have to say that it was a great deal. I paired it with a GTX 560 Ti (which I still have, if you check my signature). It was an AMAZING combo for sub £300. It tanks a decent amount of games, at least on 1280x1024. This processor, then, is great for the budget gaming rig, or the high end office station. It comes with the Intel Stock Cooler, a manual (with a sticker) and itself. It supports 1333Mhz Dual Channel RAM, up to 32GB. I personally would like to see a K series i3, simply to experiment with. This processor also handles rendering from Sony Vegas Pro 12 fairly well, and even better when CUDA assisted. I recommend this CPU infinitely to someone who needs a budget build. Thanks for reading, and sorry for rambling!

I'm working on getting the parts for my computer together (The first one I've personally built), and I noticed the motherboard I picked out stated it supported a LGA1155 CPU, but the CPU I'm more interested in uses a AM3+ socket. Will this work anyway, or does it need to be that specific? The components are: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Intel Motherboard. AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz or AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz.
