Hello, So i am or rather i was game tester for 2 years (and might be for more time) that wants to get into Software QA job. However, for that i need to learn automation (to get better jobs and there are a lot of them regarding that matter ). I see that i need to learn about selenium webdriver, cucumber, jbehave, soapUI and many others. Some might be learned during practices in job but some are a must have to even get the job (selenium and soapUI mostly but cucumber also is often). There are tutorials on yt (a lot of them) but most of times there are created by the Indonesia ppl. I dont want to sound racist but the accent and the way they talk is... not pleasement to listen, also i want more interactive courses (learning by doing is best method for me because listening to 1h video is getting me bored or i lost focus on what guy says). SO i am asking if there are such interactive tutorials? On which tool should i focus the most? How long it would take to get decent skill in using those tools?(ofc i will get job that does not require this from gtg but in later phase it might do so or it might help me). What code language works best for the tools? (i have basics of Java, javascript, C++ and now slowly learning Python. By basics i mean i can do some coding like making objects and do stuff but not like making web app or complex application with UI ) There may be more questions that i didint think of for now. I hope it's not a fools wish to ask here such stuff Cheers

I've been interested in CPU and GPU architectures and learning more about them for a while. I know a little, at least enough to understand the basics of why bulldozer failed, the major things AMD is changing with Zen, (part of) what make the C2D so great, and a little of the changes going on under the hood whenever a new architecture is released. However, I know next to nothing compared to what's out there, so I'm curious how I could learn more. I've been reading Anandtech for a while now and I've gleaned a little info here and there from it but only a little. I'm wondering if any of you know of a book or good tutorial online about CPU and GPU architectures that I could read up on. And before you ask, no, I can just go to college and become a computer engineering or electrical engineering major, I'm still 13 and 5 years from that. Thanks for the help!

Hello, Im currently self studying for the MCSA Server 2016 exams and so far i have got the exam reference guides and video lectures that are provided by Microsoft and video lessons from Lynda.com. The exam references are quite good but there are instances where it gets a bit confusing to me, so I go on and watch video lessons by Microsoft and Lynda and tbh those explanations are sometimes worse than the book. I find both Microsoft and Lynda videos very boring, I lose concentration very easily as even the examples they use are very complicated to take in. I think their tutorials would probably be more understood by people who are revising the subject to write something like an upgrade exam and not a newbie like me. I tried YouTube as well and some of them like eli the computer guy are excellent but they dont have all the lessons that cover the exam. It would be very helpful if u could suggest me free or even paid websites, YouTube channels to watch and books that you recommend reading. I also want to know if this site CBT nuggets offer gud content. Thank you.

Firstly, thanks Luke and Linus for sending me here. So, I've built a new setup: CPU: AMD EPYC 7401P MOBO: GIGABYTE MZ31-AR0 GPUS: 5 x Nvidia GTX 1080 RAM: 64GB DDR4 ECC (2333Mhz) STORAGE: 4 x 480GB Kingston SSD PSU: EVGA Supernova P2 80+ Platinum 1600W (the computer 100% theoretical load should be 1300-1400w [did not managed to test it, problem explained below]) UPS: CyberPower PR2200LCDRT2U ( I wouldn't run this computer without it, it costed too much to trust wall electricity) Software: Storage is in RAID 0 for speed. I'm using Proxmox (linux + qemu) in order to virtualize the computer. I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 Server (the one with terminal setup, not with graphical setup) + CUDA drivers in order to be able to run Tensorflow on it. Speed: Blender Rendering (one frame): Mac Book Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) 2.2Ghz: 11 minutes and 13 seconds Ubuntu(virtualized, 32cores): 2 minutes and 4 seconds Ubuntu(virtualized, cuda 4X gpu): 1 minute and 46 seconds Current problems: TLDR: I suck at setting the passthrough, since this is my first beast of a server, and had no experience with "board management control", virtualization, qemu and iommu groups, also i've learned how to properly set up a UPS with Proxmox so in case of power loss, the system will properly shut down. I'm able to virtualize 4 out of 5 GPUs because, I still didn't figure out how to properly set the virtual instance's pci bus, because activating the 5th gpu, makes the virtual network show as present but won't work. Past problems: Fitting 5 GPUs on that motherboard is not feasible, so the only way is with extensions. I've modified a Rosewill server case to make it be able to handle as many GPUs as the board can handle (logically) Anyway here's the juicy footage: I have a series made on youtube for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S8pEEBmIes&list=PLOFkZ9MQr4DWjY4V3ertyAB7SKukZ6dEf (not trying to promo my channel, also no ads on my thing, just want to share the footage)

Hi everyone, I'm trying to assist my department at my university to setup a solid platform to deliver decent online classes. These classes are NEVER online and need to meet a few requirements: 1) FREE (we cant afford anything else after textbooks) 2) Can hold at least 20-25 people 3) User friendly (my department are NOT techies...) -OPTIONAL- ~ can be accessed with our phones. We have Zoom currently, but it has given us some problems. Any information would be extremely helpful and appreciated!

Hey guys, Trying to find some motivation/benefit to sport here. So I really like coding, I like to learn a lot in my spare time and work on some personal projects (which hopefully will turn into something profitable when complete! :] ), when I need to switch off I'll probably end up watching something on netflix or playing some game. I don't eat too bad either so I personally feel okay with my body. I just find every sport I try boring, I've been going climbing with friends the past 3 weeks and prior to that went to the gym for about 3 weeks and when I'm there I just feel like I could be doing something more productive or at least something I'd find entertaining. Anyone else in the same boat?

Good evening at the time that I am writing this I am following through a VM Lab for the A+ cert course in my home town I am familiar w/ most things computer but have neglected the programing aspect of PC. the problem I am facing at this time is understanding why things are being added that are not in the directory (the "help" sheet that pops up when your in the cmd window). Anyways i understand some of it like /s /h are for showing the hidden files, etc; xcopy c:\drivename\* l:\data\ /s /e /y . the line above is the one I am trying to understand better I comprehend that I wont become knowledgeable of this type of system overnight but i believe that reaching out to this community would be helpful in getting me there i understand that it copies data/files/etc to a folder and saves it in the "l" drive in this case, i simply dont understand where the system pulled the /s /e /y from or what they stand for individually when being used under other commands anyways please let me know if you have seen this before or know/understand the concept behind this stuff I am just trying to get knowledgable.

Hey! Very new here, and trying to get a good footing in the PC world before I start asking for much help with builds. I have seen many cool things done with PCs, and it would beneficial to have the knowledge for my field of work eventually, as well as a hobby and for gaming eventually. I want to get into a bit of everything with PCs (coding, building, hardware, sleepers..etc). I want to learn about building PCs, what the specs mean and how to compare them, as well as how to build a best "Bang for Buck" PC. I am hoping for some input on areas to learn, how did everyone else learn and get into it, any resources for learning, and any good initial tips when starting to look for information. This is hopefully to give me a direction to look when learning, and not believing EVERYTHING I read on the internet lol. Thank you!

Hello, I work on a helpdesk with a fair bit of downtime - but limited internet access. While we are not busy, I’d like to be learning the SQL solution the company uses - SQL Server 2012 Management Studio . Can anyone recommend an introductory book on SQL ideally with a focus on Server 2012 Management Studio to study? Many thanks,

Hey guys, I want some educational advice over whether I should choose Python or MySQL and PHP as my specialization in the course I'm doing next year. The reason why I'm asking is because out of the 2 main tracks that are offered in the course (Web Dev or Software/Mobile Dev), I'm going with Web Dev and I'm unsure as to which specialization would help me more and be more worthwhile for doing web development in future? Thanks in advance for the advice! Hello guys! As you can read it in the title i want to buy a laptop for myself, mostly gaming and taking notes in university. So mostly i looking for a portable, but powerful machine (obviously I don't want to use it for heavy workload while on the go). I am going to learn electrical engineering, so I will mostly use it for programming. In terms of gaming I play Paradox games (mostly eu4 and hoi4), which needs a lot of cpu power and I really want to play Cyberpunk when it comes out. I was thinking about the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (GA401lU, the one with Ryzen 7, GTX 1660 Ti, 1000 GB storage and 16GB of ram), buut it's kinda expensive. So if you have any suggestions for me, or even any tips about what to watch for, please share with me, I would be really glad. Do you think the G14 is too overkill for my purposes? I'm looking forward for you responses! DjMaster

Hey guys, so I've been hearing a lot of people lately saying that AMD is better than Intel/Nvidia (depends if it's graphics or cpu that's mainly talked about) or just general hype about it. So I wanna learn about why it's so popular and what about AMD stands out nowadays? (I'm not asking this to cause arguments or anything, I'm honestly just trying to learn more about AMD)

I just found out that on my Asus Zenith Extreme I'm suppose to hook up a molex connector located on the bottom edge of the mother board when running many pcie cards. Note I am running 4 gpus cause this is a deep learning development rig. Going back through the manual for the millionth time I see nothing stating that I'm suppose to hook this up. How am I suppose to know that I'm suppose to use the additional power connecter when using many pcie cards? Searching the internets is how I found I was suppose to use this additional power connector. How did the folks posting know that connector needs to be used?

Hey guys, Im looking for someone who could help me with a little project I'm willing to start: At my job, we have a lot of data ( ex names; adresses; phone numbers, etc. ) but I want to make my own "data program" so we can access our info a lot quicker, ive learned a bot from @CodeAcadamy, but I'm not at all a know it all. How do I even start? yeah I know some basic commands and such, but how do you even start making your own "program"? Some things I have to consider is: Were often on the road so this program must be accessible offline and would like to have basic search bar: Ex: I put a name of a street, I can see all the adresses ( house numbers ) on that street. To make it a bit easier to understand, would love to make like an offline "Facebook" data base; I could just search a name and it would give me the info that I inserted of him. and have different columns, like when we last visited the owner, and etc. If anyone could help me, put me on the right track, would really appreciate it! Im really excited about it and willing to put time and effort on my "little project" Thanks.

hi. so this is an follow up to the "low-spec intel learning shall rise!!" post i did a long time ago and i can say more things. lets get started. 1. the heat so the heat. i said an cozy 80 C now it is currently 61 C (no it didnt start now) and lowest temp was 51 C and it was running a long time 2. youtube and web i said 360p in youtube now it is 480p and that post was right after i got linux 3.the os no it is still lubuntu but instead of 17.10 it is running 18.04 "bionic beaver" and it is the same 4.screen brightness well i cant dim it 5. the laptop version so i did not knew the hardware version of the pc. it is E11IS1 but the color is blue. here is the link to it: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_SPEC.aspx?DetailID=1183&CategoryID=3&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=93&LanID=0 so that wraps it up for now i am still using it today it runs well and if you are planning to get an "dirt" cheap pc which has plenty of storage for linux/coding etc. use that is an good candidate for that and until next time sam out.

Alright so understanding that G.SKILL makes pretty competitively priced memory. I understand in the custom PC world, value is by far king. Doing a quick search yielded ~156,000,000 results for Google and ~4,360,000 on YouTube when I used the term, "Budget PC". However, I'd like to put my data out on the web for what I find. I am in NO means a professional, nor do I have any professional training when it comes to working with computers. However, as an avid gamer, I've built myself and friends quite a few PC's and I feel I represent an honest, average, and fair consumer. SO. Join me, wont you? Anyway back to budget. I recently upgraded my daily driver PC. In doing so, I made the switch to DDR4. Looking around, I finally decided on G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB Kit. Its a 8 x 2 kit and for the money at the time it was the best option. I also moved to the Z270 platform and in doing so purchased an ASRock Z270 Killer SLI/AC. A wonderful board covered in classy lush white, but not enough to make it gaudy. It also has a RGB port on the bottom. (More on that later) Next I wanted to pick a new case. My NZXT S340 was a couple years old at this point and I really liked the look of the Corsair Air 540. Did you know a Corsair is a fast ship used for Piracy? This case comes with two 140mm White LED Fans in the front. I installed a Intel Core I5 7600k OC to 4.0, and to keep it cool naturally I chose a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I'm still using my EVGA Geforce GTX 960 4GB SSC, and the other pieces of the puzzle aren't really important. I've had the PC together for a little while now and I've gotten the Itch to make it a little more appealing to the eyes. Now, I have planned to make this a fully white themed build, and the first thing I need to address is those bright red RAM DIMMs. So, join me! I'm going to be testing the thermal effects on the RAM with painted heat sinks. Also, cheap upgrades to take this build from mediocre to awesome! Also, I'm new here. I'm still vague on how all this works. haha.
