10th May 2020: So i solved this now. I installed a new NIC (this one, works great). And was still getting the error. I then switched out the cable and this has solved the issue. TLDR: So I had a duff ether net cable. Hey, I've been dealing with this since i built the PC a few years ago. Scenario: I will be playing multiplayer on Battlefield 1, 4, 5 about 20-30 mins into a game my LAN connection will drop completely. Almost as if the port reloads. Only happens when i'm playing origin games. In all other scenarios of using the internet (streaming, web browsing, steam multiplayer games i.e. PUBG) i have no issues at all. I did find a temporary fix and that was to set my device speed to 10Mbps Full Duplex. I have tried in on 100 and 1Gbps full duplex but still the connection drops. The router stays working while my PC drops all internet connection. This is my build: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CqG63b CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 70.69 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card Case: Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB SE ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Case Fan: Corsair LL120RGB LED (Three Fans With Lighting Node PRO) 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans Case Fan: Corsair LL120RGB LED (Three Fans With Lighting Node PRO) 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans I have updated all of my drivers. I have even tried rolling back the network driver to an older version i had. But still nothing works. I have disabled these device settings: - Energy Efficient Ethernet - Allow PC to power off this device - Wake on Magic Packet I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do now. Or how to investigate further. Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello... I just started streaming using OBS...I use a 2 PC method via OBS NDI...I have trouble in having the 2 PCs to connect together via LAN... sometimes it works but it will always take me around 30mins to troubleshoot... I have to reset network adapter several times..I use wifi sharing to my LAN in order to use OBS NDI..as so what i've been told on YouTube..please if any networking pros here can help me.. - My 2 PCs wont detect over LAN after shutdown for a long time. - Troubleshooter will tell me that Ethernet has not valid IP config Please help me..I do not know much in networking stuff...is there a way for my PC to connect with each other consistently? without resetting adapter and what not... Thank you so much...

so I have had 2 routers over the last 11 years that worked great both being "Linksys WRT54GL". and for short time in between the first routers death I tried to replace and upgrade to a wireless N router that would not stay connected even on wired. it just kept restarting and over heating, ruining my gaming experience so bad that I went and bought the same WRT54GL because I knew it was stable and a good router. and it has been for so many years. but after many years we now have more and more wireless devices like our roku in the living room and computer in the spare room. and several kindle fires across the house. so wireless g network seems a bit outdated and feeling like its time to get something newer, but not really sure how much performance or stability different brands would have. or if just sticking to linksys would be best. like whats the difference between a AC1200 and AC1900... the price difference makes it seem like I should know more about what I am getting before I buy anything. Has there even been a LTT video on "which router to buy"?

Would like to know how to create my own redirect, or change my own DNS. Anything that will achieve the goal really. Goal: When I by habit go to amazon ->ctrl-enter = www.amazon.com I want it to redirect me, or to just go directly to smile.amazon.com. Dat charity tho. My flawed search terms are not yielding good results. Even just the appropriate search term should solve this for me. Thanks everyone!

Okay so I've been pulling my hair out all morning over this. Last night everything was working fine and this morning I turn on my PC and it says I don't have connection. I do to Network and Sharing Center and it says "Unidentified network" I've spent all morning and afternoon looking up every "fix" I could find on the internet. Everything from updating drivers, changing dns, netsh resets, flush dns, etc. Please help me fix this Network: IPconfig: If you guys need any other info please let me know. I'm connected via wifi right now but it sucks.

I have been planning this out for awhile, just checking the interest in it. Was planning on making it next month and get it ready for the ryzen build I am hoping to make What this is is actually a desk, with a shelf to the right of the sitting position that will simply hold an open bench tray that will mount a motherboard, some cut outs for rads and fans. It would have a laminate top, but the cool thing about this desk is that you could slide the monitor to above the shelf, fold up the outside leg and drop half the top down along the shelf. Then literally roll it to where ever the lan is you are going. Setup would comprise of lifting the half of the table top, dropping the leg, and turning some pin locks and plugging in the psu. I've got the build all planned out, just need to buy materials and start drilling, screwing and glueing it all together. I also was thinking of putting the build plans out once I've got it all built so people can replicate this and build it for themselves.

Hi, So I have 2 old Sun Microsystems SunFire X4100 servers with Ubuntu Server 16.04.2 on them and one of them is running a Minecraft Server and I am planning to do something cool with the other one, not quite sure yet though... So the problem is: I have my Router/Modem/Wireless AP in one room and my main rig and the 2 SunFire servers in another room. I am planning to run an ethernet cable from the router through the ceiling etc... into the room with the servers. I can only run 1 ethernet cable. I need to connect 3 computers (all support gigabit) to the internet. I cannot use WiFi for any of them because the SunFire servers don't have it and I need minimal latency. So my plan to solve this is: Run a single ethernet cable out the "Ethernet 1" port of my Router (Netgear D6300) to the room with the servers, put in a Gigabit Switch and then run short little ethernet cables to the 2 servers and the computer. Now I have a few questions about my plan: 1. Will this even work? 2. Can the 2 servers and my main rig communicate together through the switch, or how does it work? (I need to join the Minecraft Server that's on the one SunFire server from my main rig) 3. Will it have low enough latency and be fast enough? Any help will be appreciated!

Hey there, I have a home server using unRAID and loving it. I have a self contained flat in my former basement and I have a gigabit connection to my home and want to share the internet with the potential tenant downstairs while keeping them from accessing my server. I would have setup passwords etc on the server but when I try to access them in windows (which most people use here) I can't get access. I have 7 Ethernet ports in the apartment downstairs and so I was thinking of getting a separate router and hub and connecting the flat that way BUT I need to know how to enable them to access the internet without accessing my upstairs local network or server. Cheers in advance!

hey guys, im thinking about running a server in my room, ans also having different network preferences to run different things. im new to this stuff and i dont know alot about servers and so on so i was wondering: -does a server need to be anything powerful and does it need alot of hard drive space or can i use clouds? -if i wanted different nexwork preferences, what things would i need to buy? -say i have the server in my basement, how would i connect it with the stuff in my room about 50 meters away. -if im on a budget, how cheap can i make this all work? thanks

Okai, so I wanted/need to set up a server. I have done it before on the very same computer, it's a old computer that I don't relay use anymore. but since I hosted a CS:GO server on it the last time I have moved and had to set it all up again. the scenario is still the same tough, I had to portforward between to routers, no issue there done it before and did it again when I use a portforward checker that I downloaded I finely got it working after some tinkering. This time I decided to use the GUI based server setup thing, seems to be working just fine. I start up the server, it tells me my public ip is 31.204.73.114 so to connect to my server the address should be 31.204.73.114:27015 27015 are the port that I am using. how ever, it only shows in LAN on my community server browser with the static IP that I gave me server pc. I'm relay frustrated as I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. It should work now as it did before, but it clearly does not. also when I have your guys attention, I was thinking on buying a new procecor for the server pc. the spec currently are: athlon x2 250 @ 3.1GHz, I could't get more than 0.1 more out of it on that motherboard. 16GB ram, and very unnecessarily I know, but two 500gb HDDs, how ever, when I test play on the server it sometimes "lag's" slightly, and that is the times when the processor usage peaks above 80 % witch tells me I might need a slightly better CPU, would a Athlon quad core at 3.7 GHz be sufficient? I relay want to get the server up and running as fast as possible as I need it to the Telenor E-sport qualifier early next moth hope to get some help and I will try to provide more information upon request regarding the server issue. best regards - Pål-Marius. Hey there guys, need assistance trying to figure out this issue I'm having with my network. Lately anti virus has popped up with alerts of malicious network activity that it had been blocking, when i logged into my router i noticed 20+ unknown network devices attached to my network via ethernet, i restarted my router, turned on my mac filter, and only had my PC, NAS and phone mac on the filter, blocking everything else and waited to see if any other activity continued, i woke up this morning, and noticed these unknown network devices connected again, detected by my antivirus and somehow bypassed the mac filter. I'd like to consider myself pretty experienced with PC's, but this isn't an issue I've had before. using a Linksys EA6500 with a 2TB Segate Central 2TB NAS with genuine windows 10 with the latest version ESET Smart Security. Ran scans of both the PC and network, and i cannot find any sort of malware, and i haven't downloaded anything malicious, I'm very confused.

Hello, I having a little problem with my integrated LAN. So the symptomes are the following: 1. PC boot's up, i plug the 1Gbit lan cable everything works just fine. with 1Gbit speed. 2. After then when i unplug the LAN cable and plug it again the internet speed slows down to 3Mbit 3. When i "Disable" the network adapter and enable it again, everything works fine. My remark: i tried with an ubuntu live cd and the symptomes are not appear. My conclusion: The problem is software related in my opinion. So please help me Some additional info: OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 on (RAID 0 SSD) Mobo: Asus Z97-C CPU: i7-4790 (non K) GPU: GTX 1080 Router: Asus RT-N18U, and i got one more TP-LINK 1750 C7 V2 (if needed) And i'm so sorry, but i'm not a native english speaker Thanks :-)

I'm having problems with my second router(D-LINK DIR-615). as only LAN port number 1 works. LAN port 1 works with both the PC's I'm trying to connect, and both the Ethernet-cables work. This is how the routers are set up: Technicolor EPC3949 (Coaxial-cable - 50/10 Mbps) ----> D-LINK DIR-615 ----> Two PC's - LAN port 1 & 2 Only LAN port 1 on the D-LINK DIR-615 works, the other three ports give no signal whatsoever. I have tried setting each of the PC's up on different IP's in the available IP range, still no signal from LAN port 1, 2 & 3. I would appreciate any help that I can get. Have a good day

So I installed my new gigabyte motherboard into my system however every time I boot up my network adaptor has trouble identifying the network. However the only way to fix this is by deleting the network driver, turning off the PC then turn it back on, install the driver again and then turn my PC off and on again. I find this to be really annoying and I want to know if anyone else has had the same experience with these drivers because I would greatly appreciate that .

Hello, ltt forums, I am planning a build to take to college and various LAN events, and to use as a daily driver. This is the current parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mZCmhq EDIT: I forgot to mention I already have an ssd for storage. I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations, especially for the case, monitor, and cooling issues. This case should be durable, but i heard that the plastic construction is shoddy. Also, the monitor seems like a deal too good to be true, are there any issues? I appreciate any help at all, thanks!

So I'm setting up my home network for the first time and I was wondering for security reasons how ethernet works with Lan and internet. Do I need two separate rj45 ports and just have different settings 1 for internet and the other for Lan?

Hello, Ever since I got my PC the connection to the router has been dropping every few minutes or sometimes even seconds. I use an ethernet cable to connect to the router. I am pretty sure the problem is not with the router. Because the wireless is on, since my phone is still connected to it and working just fine. Even when i use a tethered connection to my phone that happens. I do not have a wireless adapter on my pc because i did not see the need for it. This ONLY happens when i am browsing, or watching a stream. Never disconnected in the middle of a game, but sometimes in between games (when finding or browsing game menus). I Googled for a solution for a long time, but none of the solutions have solved my issue. I disabled all the power saving options and also the ability of the computer to turn off device when not in use, but still this keeps on happening. Please help!
