Theoretically this would be the setup: A switch with 5x1Gbit ports 1 occupied with the router through a cat 8 cable. If I were to plug the other 4 ports with devices, would they all get 1Gbit/s? Or end up divided into 1000 / 4 = 250Mbit/s for each device, lemme know please!

What I wanna know is, if I were to just turn on a router that provides a wifi connection, not connected to any ISP (so no WAN) but has 1 server connected to it, would that server be able work as a LAN ftp that only devices connected to that router can access? I would love to experiment this but I can't afford to take my server offline for that. I'd love to read some responses, as im not that good at networking and would really like to hear y'alls opinions Thanks in advance

Linus did a video recently (I forget the title) where he ran at least 4 instances of a game. Similar to multiple gamers 1 CPU. The specs of the machine he used were similar to mine. If somebody can respond with the video URL for the video I'm looking for, I can learn what software he used to partition windows operations, and have a LAN party with my friends using my main gaming PC. Thanks. CPU: Intel core i9 11900k. RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (DDR4-3600 128gb) GPU: Asus ROG Strix OC Geforce RTX 3090. Those are the important specs, nothing else is relevant to the inquiry I'm writing but I will provide the full specs if asked. I might even re-create it in PCPartPicker. The game I'm interested in running on four 60Hz/1080p displays at the lowest playable graphic settings is Call of Duty: Black ops Cold War - Zombies. I.took advantage of a Battle.net summer sale and bought the game 3 more times on 3 different accounts. 100011900_MyVideo.mp4

So I got my second work day and decided to set up the local network. I opened everything so each computer can see each other. There are 3 PCs, one of them is just shit and we'll throw it away and 2 main PCs. Tested connection, tried opening shared folders.... One pc (connected to router using ethernet cable) can see the 2nd pc, but not vice versa. 2nd pc tho connected to router using wifi. How do I make it mutually visible? Give me even stupidest suggestions, except for "did you open network visibility in network settings?" Of course I did. And yeah, it's win11.

Let me start by saying I'm no Mac guy and know little about OS X, However I was given an old mid 2010 Mac Mini to mess around with running OS X 10.13.6 and having an issue with getting into my Media "server". I have a few computers in the house with sharing enabled and the ones with password logins work as you would expect. But the one I use to store my media files doesn't have any passwords set and none of the options I use work, Just giving me a can not connect error. I have tried using "guest" as well as the windows admin account name and both blank or random password (sometimes works on Linux/Android systems)

hey guys, Ever since i changed my MOBO to a new one (ASUS Rog Strix B550-f), every now and then when i turn off my computer and the next day i turn it on it does not recgonize/have internet. tried everything from connecting it to all other ports and the only solution i have found that works is that switch the ethernet cable. my little brother has his computer next to mine so when it has happened i just switch the ethernet cable from his to mine and from mine to his and both work, so it can't be the cables because both have worked in my PC and my brothers PC. i just turned it on after it being turned off since last night and same issue, no internet and the fix was to swap cables with my little brother. kinda annoying i have to do this almost everytime i turn on my pc.. Any idea what it could be? thanks in advance.

INTRO 1. No "Network Adapter" or network functionality will show up after installing Windows 10, from "Installation Media" usb stick created a while ago, on the NVMe SSD in my new system (MOBO: ASRock B550M Pro4, GPU: Gigabyte 4070 Ti, CPU: 5800X, RAM: 2x16Gb Partiot Viper 3600 Mghz, STORAGE: 512GB SEKC SM250 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD PCIe Gen 3x4, 1TB Samgsung 870 Evo) • In BIOS > Advanced > Onboard LAN (was already enabled) 2. Network "Troubleshooter" gives this error: "Install a driver for your network adapter Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver." 3. Installed "Realtek Lan driver ver:10039_03232020" for "Windows 10 64 bit" from ASRock's site leads to this error: "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable." • In BIOS > Advanced > ACPI Configuration > Deep Sleep (was already disabled) 4. Tried removing NVMe SSD and reinstalling windows fresh on regular SSD (solved the issue according to a user on Tom's Hardware.) 5. Installing "AMD chipset driver ver:2.11.26.106" resolved a few issues icons (exclamation marks) in Device Manager. But then, installing "Realtek LAN driver" leads to same error. "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable." 6. Cleared the CMOS by shorting the Pins. The clear CMOS seems to have worked since the RAM clocks were back to defaults but the Realtek Network Adapter is still nowhere to be found. OPTIONS LEFT 1. Clear CMOS again but removing the battery this time just in case it only partially cleared last time, if that's even possible. 2. A friend suggested flashing the BiOS. INCENTIVE I've been up for over 18h and I will have a ridiculously hard time to sleep before I get some progress. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Help me and I'll offer you quasi-immortality if I ever get to build my dream Matrioshka Brain / Dyson Sphere!!!

A while ago i got this pcie lan card to go in my pc because downloads were slow. I put it in everything was fine, everytime i booted up my pc though, i noticed something. I wasnt getting internet when i turned on my pc. Quite shortly, i found out a solution to this problem. I had to take it out and put it back in before i turn on my computer each and every time. This started to get annoying as you could imagine so, i moved it to the pcie 16x slot on my mobo. Then, it worked fine but now its playing up again and its the same problem. I made a post exaclty like this maybe earlier this year or late last year and people were saying to update bios and stuff so i did. Still not working. Im looking on some advice on what to do. Motherboard: Msi B350 PC mate. 500W psu windows 10 home no overclocking Thats it. If you need more info just ask!

I am currently making a Debian based Minecraft server to play on with some friends. I'm a (mostly) proficient Linux user but they are not. I was wondering if there was a way that I could allow them to connect to the server without being on the same WIFI. I have seen some solutions online but, currently I am at university, so I don't have the ability to configure my own router, and I have to use the WIFI provided by the school. With this in mind, is there some way that I could give them the server IP address or other information in order to allow them to connect. I don't want to use any paid software, (the whole point of this was that it would be free except for the old computer it runs on). I might be missing something really obvious, so no solution is too simple. I just figured that this was a good way to get a direct answer. Thank you all in advance.

Hello, I have a problem in which my brother and I have 2 PCs with Call of Duty Modern Warfare, we each bought our own copy and have our own accounts, the problem is that whenever we try to play with each other we can get one match and then we are stuck forever looking for a second match, and then we can never play a second game. We are both connected to the router via ethernet and wifi, I have tried us both being on ethernet and one on ethernet and one on wifi it doesnt work. I am not sure how to fix this problem, I have tried having another person as host but that still doesnt work.

Good afternoon. I would like some assistance assessing the viability and best path forward on the following project: Project Goal: [After looking into this further I feel like it would be best if I clarify what I intend to do. I wish to use my computer from an adjacent room. The distance between my computer to the work station in the other room would be 30 ft (as the cable flies) as I cannot drill a hole in these walls. Obviously this is beyond the range of a conventional USB cable though I can find HDMI cables of sufficient length. I intend to use this work station for tasks requiring a bare minimum of input delay (uses vary but I was hoping to use a drawing tablet). I am looking for a cost efficient solution. I can either buy specialty cables or I can use my older computer to attach the peripherals and then network the two computers somehow.] Resources at hand: 1 very new relatively decent computer 1 not so new not so decent computer 2 monitors 4 keyboards 3 mouse 2 rooms separated by: -1 wall or -{2 doors and -1 hallway} Potential Solutions: 1. Buy a really long HDMI and USB Cable and create a second working environment in the neighboring room 2. Buy a really long network cable and use the old computer as a thin client to access the new computer 3. Give up. Maybe read a book or go outside (Coronapocalypse permitting)

Hello, I have run into a problem where an ethernet connection only allows for 10.0 Mbps, I have tried the cable on different computers on the same network and they are able to get 200 Mbps, I updated the drivers from MSI, MPG mpg x570 gaming edge wifi, I am pretty sure it is the driver since the cable, router and modem since they seem to work fine. I have tried to change the speed settings in the driver to higher speed but none of the solutions work online.

Hi everyone. First time posting here. I’m having an issue with an old APU board that I want to use as a media server or a plex server just for the sake of bringing new life to it. I’m using Openmediavault as OS, a Debian 7 based distro and it’s not recognizing the Ethernet on the board. I’ve tried many other distros just to be sure it was not an issue with the one I’m using and nothing either. I’m in Cuba and my internet access it’s 0 on that computer and even when I can get my hands on local mirrors of the repos I can’t get my hand on the proper drivers. The board it’s the ASROCK AD525PV3. can anyone help my getting the right drivers, please? thanks in advance.

I just installed this connection through LAN, on paper it doesn't have a bad jitter, at least not as long as fast.net analyzed it. But when I entered the command console the random latency spike would reveal itself sometimes up to 1000+ ms. Though it happens in random sequences, even when I'm not opening the browser. As far as I'm concerned my connection to the router was solid with constant <1ms. I ain't no expert in solving network problems, nor I am an expert in networking in general. Sorry if some of my terms are kinda off. Can anyone help?

Hi there I am using a WD MyCloud as a NAS. I have mount it into the Windows Explorer via networkdrive. Everytime i wanna access the data on the share the progress bar of the explorer is moving very slowly. After a long waiting time the Explorer showes the content of my share. Background information: I am using SMB 3 to communicate with the NAS. The network connection i use is via gigabit Ethernet. Hope you guys can help me with my issue. Thank You

So I'm currently using powerline but it became more and more unreliable, so I want to just lay a lan cable through a staircase. I can hide it fairly well it just needs to be black or pretty dark grey and about roughly 25m long. The idea is that the lan cable goes from the router (FritzBox 6591 Cable) through the staircase up to a small switch from wich I'd plug in my existing cable laying it under the door. However I don't know what is good choice for this use case. (Going beyond one gigabit wouldn't make sense.) What would be a good choice for a cable or does this actually matter at all? I intended to power the switch via POE but the router does not support that. Are there devices that can "add" this without adding latency? What is a good choice for small decent switch? What would that approximately cost me? Any help, Ideas or remarks are appreciated. ^^

Hi, I recently just bought a router from Asus (RT-AC86U) because I was getting a weak signal from the old router. I want to use the Asus router as an acess point so I did some research and found a page where some guy said that the ethernet cable should be put into a LAN port instead of the WAN, he said "If you are unable to make changes to the ISP router, then I would use your own wifi router, but use it as a layer 2 device, rather than as a router. All this means is that the devices that connect to your router are on the same network as if they were connected directly to the ISP router. The way to do this is to disable DHCP on your router, and connect it to the ISP router using LAN ports. This is important. Your router probably has a WAN port - ignore this and connect one of the lan ports to the router LAN port. Now anything that connects to your router will issue a DHCP request for an IP address. Your router DHCP will be disabled, and as the LAN ports are connected, the ISP router will see the DHCP request and respond." I just wanted to get some more opinions on this before I go and do something that doesn't work, so should I try and do what the guy says and put the ethernet cable into the LAN port or does it have to go into the WAN port? Thanks

Hello and thanks for your help. So let me explain my current internet setup. I have DSL internet (no fibre available) and have it connected to a modem/router combo(router 1) unit which is connected via ethernet to another router(router 2) to act as an access point for better WiFi upstairs. My Plex server is connected to router 2 via ethernet cable. How can I access Plex from router 1 locally? I can't enable remote access on Plex because I have bad upload speed on my DSL internet. Thanks for your help

Dear forum, I'm back in search of wisdom. I'm encountering multiple problems in my current LAN setup, and while I have a couple of suspects, everything tells me I should be getting better results or worse results, but not the exact results I get. It makes no sense to me at this point. Let me preface with two things: 1) I know there are many ways to connect two computers, so having "a" connection could be achieved by trying a different configuration and see how it goes. However, the goal here is to get this layout to work, or alternatively, understanding why it can't (as in, shouldn't) work, and then move to something else. If I just quit I'll learn nothing. 2) This is a graph of my current setup. Each line represents a 1Gig Ethernet connection. Ellipses represent bonds of ethernet connections working as one (LACP a.k.a. 802.3ad). Wireless connections go directly to the ISP modem, and are in the same space as the modem and the PFSense WAN (say, 192.168.xx.zz). PFsense LAN and all the PCs are in 192.168.yy.zz, xx=/=yy. Dashed lines delimit rooms, connections between rooms go through the walls. The problems 1) The old: It all started after installing the PFSense router (although I remember some previous oddities preparing this post, more on that later). I made a thread about it here: In a nutshell, the connection between PFSense and Switch breaks down, triggering a "possible flapping" message on the PFSense logs. It goes back up with no user intervention. The current state of the problem is reproducible: it happens every time I turn on or turn off either of PC1, PC2 or, since Installing that, PC3 (I've checked ans it's not exactly at power up, but when the OS starts loading). If you are using any of the PC1 or PC2, you're suddenly limited to the Switch, then after waiting a bit (varies between seconds and minutes) you can go all the way to the internet again. 2) The new: I installed Ubuntu Server on another PC last week, configuring a bond as main network interface, but without connecting to the internet during the installation. Once done, I connected the cables and try connect to the outside world to no avail. Now here's the puzzle: I can reach all the way from PC3 to the PFSense box and SSH into it. That is, the path between PC3 and PFSense seems no different than the path between PC1 and PC2, and PFSense. But PC3 gets no internet. The obvious candidate was DNS, but I checked with various built-in tools (route, netplan --debug, looking at resolv.conf and whatever the netplan config files are, etc), and in all cases it is correctly set to 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8 (it's the same in PC1 and PC2, PFSense is set to DNS Relay). But no internet. I did some ping and web GUI / SSH tests, as follows: PC1: can ping Switch, can access Switch GUI, can ping PFSense, can access PFSense GUI, can ping PC3, can ping 1.1.1. has internet PC3: cannot ping Switch, can ping PFSense, can SSH into PFSense, can ping PC1, cannot ping 1.1.1., has no internet I checked the PFSense logs and there's no trace of PC3 trying to reach the internet, or anywhere, and being blocked. The only signs of any blocking are stuff coming from my laptop (connected through WiFI to ISP modem) towards PFSense LAN and inwards. No clue what that is, but glad to have PFSense Anyway, laptop on or off does not affect my results. So that's my puzzle: I would understand having internet on PC3, and I would understand if PC3 couldn't reach PFSense due to some misconfiguration somewhere. I would understand less if PFSense was blocking PC3 while not the others, but at least it would be a lead to follow. But right now it's as if PC3 was simply not sending the requests to, say, 1.1.1.1 correctly, or at all 3) The unresolved oddities from the past Before even having the PFSense box, everything seem to work fine (PC1 and PC2 to Switch same as now, Switch to ISP), but I remember now two issues that I overlooked: i) PC1 dual-boots Windows and Linux Mint. Windows configured the team (a.k.a. bond) in two clicks, and worked since then. In Linux Mint I never got any Ethernet connectivity whatsoever as far as I remember, and 100% sure the team does not work at all in Linux to this day. I'm limited to WiFi on PC1 when on Mint. ii) I have two available modes for the "Etherchannels" (how Cisco calls the teams/bonds) in my Switch: "Static" and "LACP". THe description of "Static" was not very informative to me, but my understanding is that the correct option for my setup is "LACP". That's how all the Linux / PFSense bonds are set, and they will not work if I change that to "Static" in the switch (while keeping the settings unchanged in the computers). This is the expected behavior, I think. However, the link between Switch and PC1 is set as "Static" in the Switch. Looking back, when first setting this up, there were instances in which it would work in Static but not LACP, it would work in LACP but not Static, neither, both, etc, until I finally got it all set. My understanding is that it shouldn't work because the team is set as LACP in PC1, but OK, I guess what does work is not my main concern So, at this point: what could be preventing PC3 to reach the internet through PFSense like the other computers? What's causing the link between PFSense and the Switch yo break down when a computer connected to the Switch initializes its NICs / powers them down? I'd blame the Switch, but then, why does a direct link between ISP and Switch not break in the same situation? I do hope it's the Switch: While it would suck not being able to use it this way, I think I could setup a similar layout with PC3 acting as both server and switch. Still, I'd want to understand first what's wrong with the damned CE500G, and salvage it if possible. Thanks in advance to anyone with 2 hours to read this post and able to provide any hint

TL;DR i have problem installing games on a shared Raid partition from an other PC. so I have multiples PC in my gaming room and i would like to install steam on a couples of them all logged in with my accound(wouldn't play the same game on more than 1 pc) and install the games on a separate NAS. i've tried and i get error while installing them, not all games does this, somes install just fines without any problem and somes get stuck always at the exact same point, i've tried uninstall and reinstall, even tried to uninstall them, did a ''disk clean-up'', a defrag of the partition and even opened the cmd as admin, did a '/chkdsk /f /r''(restarted the pc for it to do his work even though it only did the C disk im sure but i wanted to put every chance on my side), and after all that reinstalled the game, it get stuck at the exact same place. at some point i started to think that the raid of the partition i use to stock the games might be somewhat defective even though i tested all disk days before building the said NAS(wich i've build this week so they have been tested very recently, should be working perfectly) anyway so i started backing up somes others files somewhat importent stored on the raid and it's copying files at 200MB/s(maxed out by the HDD in non-raid speed) without any interuptions or any slowdown, so the raid seams to not have any problem. i am mostly wondering if others person have the same setup and/or the same problem and if they were able to solve it, otherwise, if you have an idea, PLEASE let me know because i have no clue and i don't want to start seting up a second pc for files sharing if games over lan won't work after all xD Alright for those needing more specifications, what i have is: NAS- Core 2 Quad 2GB of RAM(1GB in used only),windows 10 pro 32 Bit(don't know why i wasn't able to install the 64Bit, anyway, don't really need it since all this pc is doing is the NAS position so it's just stocking files and only has 2GB of ram), the windows is installed on a 2.5'' 7'200RPM 320GB HDD(also tested at the same time as ALL my others driver, just mooved in so i wanted to make sure they didn't get damaged in the transport). I also have a 3.5'' 7'200 RPM 2TB HDD(seagate iron wolf i think) as a ''Safe Storage'' and a Raid 0(at the Bios Level) of 3 3.5'' 7'200RPM 1TB HDD as a ''Temporary Semi-Fast Storage/Games Storage''. Main Gaming PC- i7 7700k, 32GB of RAM, SSD 256GB Samsung 850 Evo for the windows and 5 SSD Kingston V300 120GB in Raid 0(Bios Level) as ''Fast Temporary Storage'' to install the games, what i did is i shared the 2TB HDD and the 3TB Raid 0 giving Full permission to everyone on every disk, got all the file sharing working perfectly on both my gaming pc and my NAS and after all that, i just started to the top of my Steam library and installed all 86 Games(well allocating the space and adding them to the queue). didn't had any problem so far with all 86 games. it's when the game start installing, i got 77 out of 86 installed WITHOUT ANY Problem what so ever. but somes times i would check at the bottom of the list, remove the already finie=shed installing ones and notice that 1 or 2 games that have tried to install had problem at somes point and are waiting for me to restart them. i would just restart them, go back to the top and come back a couples hours later and the same games i've sent to restart, they are back and stuck with the same amount of data downloaded while others games had installed just fines after that. i'restart one of them and watch it while having the task manager on the NAS open, when it get Stuck, network and disk usage just drop to idle, steam stay stuck for somes times, bump out the ''faulty Game'' and skip to the next one(who was Dirt 4) and INSTANTLY on the NAS task manager, Network goes to 1gb/s(maxed out the Switch/motherboard gigabit port) and Disk usage just follow what ever the network in giving him(about 10-30% of disk usage wich is normal since the RAID is running at around 500MB/s when maxed out). Side Note, it's even weirder when i saw that somes games have one ''copy'' of the game installing just fine while the other one isn't(see photo of my game list, the ''RUST'' Games). I ALSO DIDN'T TRIED PLAYING YET! well not all games at the very least, didn't had any problem with the game This far, i will Edit the Post if i found some who has problem. Final Goal, i would want about 3 gaming PC(i have my main gaming one and all the parts for a second one and a Laptop wich i've extracted the mobo and install in a WII(with CD working) and i would let space for my friends pc when they come over and would like if they could just add my shared library and not having to install games :P) and i would have the NAS i'm setuping Now, i would also have like 2 other NAS, one for Reliable Fast Storage(a bunch of SSD in Raid 5 or 6) and one for Archive(Tones of Terrabytes of Storage :D) i basicaly have everything exept for details like cable long enough to put the pc where i want and the Storage Part for the Archive, i'm planning on buying a bunch of WD RED drives and if i have the budget, one of those 45 drives chassis to make all this look Slick. Might also in a Near futur add a Surveillance system but it's gonna be compleatly separate from the rest, not connected to the internet so it's not gonna interfere(I think) IF you have any Questions or anything i didn't specified that you'd like to know, just tell me and i'll enter in more details and more pictures for you :P

PCPartPicker Parts List Motivation: Going to LAN parties with a PC built inside a Fractal Design Define R6 can be quite the hassle. However I love how quiet that case is, which is one of the main reasons it houses my current gaming rig. With PC hardware becoming ever more efficient and lots of companies focusing on better cooling for their components it's only a matter of time until the convenience of ITX builds will be greater than the loss in performance and noise. This is why I want to combine the two: A (close to) silent ITX PC. Concept: 'Passively' Cool Everything. GPUs and PSUs already turn off their fans while idling and only produce minimal sounds when running on a manual fan curve. So the thing to focus on is the CPU cooling. I want to replace the fans on the CPU cooler with a 200mm front intake fan. This 200mm fan would take in fresh air and push through the case and CPU cooler in order to passively cool the CPU, replacing the only constantly running fans with one that is barely audible even at full speed. Components: Case: The BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX is old. Really old. However where I live it's still sold at decent prices (80$ in ~2 weeks or 95$ from stock) and it combines everything that is needed for this kind of build: Natively compatible with 200mm fans, full sized GPUs and chonky CPU coolers Filtered front panel/intake Carry handles; to take to LAN parties The Case is the component I put the most research time into. There are numerous newer ITX cases around but I wasn't able to find one that fits the bill better. CPU Cooler: In order to have a realistic shot at passively cooling a CPU the cooler must be quite massive. The NH-D15 is the best cooler on the market, only really having the Dark Rock Pro 4 as competition, so it's the obvious choice. Rest of Components: This build is meant as a midrange/high-end gaming and midrange content creation PC. This is why the component choice is rather conservative, with a no-dollar-wasted mindset. Both the R5 3600 and RTX 2080 Super are subject to change in case newer components in the same price range outperform them. So is the motherboard. I'd prefer the X570 chipset because there's definitely no BIOS update needed, but those are either not available or still too expensive. What do you think about this build concept? Can a passively cooled CPU with an NH-D15 and a 200mm fan work? Do you know of any case that would be a better choice than the BitFenix Prodigy?

I have a 100/20 connection for my desktop with a wired connection. But I am having issues were my download is between 6 and 8 mbps all the time. Making it extremely annoying to watch a stream at 1080p60. I tested the wifi speed on my phone and it clocked in at 10 ish mbps. I then tried my phone at the other 100/20 connection I have at my house and got 80 ish mbps. I brought an amplifier to my desktop location and tested again with my phone and it clocked in at 50mbps, which is understandable because of whats in the way and the wired connection was at 80mbps. So I thought the router/modem combo was faulty so I changed to just a modem. This seemed to fix the issue at the time, but the next day my internet speed was back at 10 ish mbps. There had been no changes to the system, no updates, no downloads, no new software or no new devices. I've tried restarting my computer, modem and the network card with no prevail. Making me belive theres something wrong with my desktop. Everything is up to date. Speeds tested with testmy.net. So It's about a pretty basic LAN setup. In terms of networking infrastructure all we have is a modem (Cisco) and a router (Ralink). In terms of devices I've connected 1-3 laptops, 1-2 phones via wi-fi, 1 laptop via Ethernet. The issue: When using Windows shared folders (to transfer files between all the devices, which would be considerably faster than any other method, except for usb attachables), the transfer speed is abominable. 1 to 5 MB/s (or up to 40 Mbps) which is 2 times slower than the internet speed. What could cause this? I've tried various settings, reseting stuff, nothing helped. If I'm still sane, there's literally no way, your INTRAnet transfer speed would be way slower than your INTERnet transfer speed...this internal link should be 100+ Mbps, at worst I'd expect it to be as fast as the internet speed (if it were to be bottlenecked by the router). All devices have SSDs so it's not about writing/reading speed. They are way faster than that. I can utilize 100+ Mbps of internet speed, but inbetween devices inside the LAN it's literally 2x slower...go figure. If anyone has ideas, please share and thank you! P.S. Yes, i've ran speedtests via WI-Fi it's not bottlenecked by the wireless part of the connection. everything is fast, except for transfering inbetween devices. And yes I've tried rotating different combinations of devices on and off to see if it's throttled by a number of established connections, etc. Also tried running everything wired. Same result.
