So recently Warhorse Studios anounced their kickstarter and I think it is one of my top 5 games which I am very much excited about right now. Lays of Althas, Cradle, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Star Citizen are the other 4 games to which I am looking forward to. I guess my excitement for Kingdom Come: Delieverance is mostly because the dev mentioned that the main inspiration for their game comes from Skyrim, Witcher, Mount and Blade and Dark Souls. Their taking the best elements of each and making an awesome medieval game out of it! Trailer appears to be using mostly ingame footage: Anyways Kingdom Come: Delieverance's kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1294225970/kingdom-come-deliverance So are you guys also excited for this game? Post your thoughts.

Just found this Kickstarter campaign for a game called "CRADLE" on the PCMasterRace reddit. I hadn't heard anything about it. It looks pretty good, the art and music look and sound amazing in the trailer. Didn't see it here so I thought I would post it. Description: "Cradle is an open-world adventure in a unique fantasy setting full of action and exploration featuring a one-of-a-kind combat system." This really cool kickstarter project about a device that allows you to control a paper airplane has nearly reached $1 million. With 13 days still to go before it is funded I am fairly certain it will get there. When it reaches $1M a feature will be developed that allows two paper aircraft to engage in a dogfight, when a plane is shot its engine will shut down, causing it to crash. I don't know anyone in his right mind who wouldn't get exited about that SHUT UP AND TAKE MORE OF MY MONEY! I leave here a link to the kickstarter project if you are interested in learning more or in giving support to this amazing device: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/393053146/powerup-30-smartphone-controlled-paper-airplane?ref=discovery

Recently we had seen Smart bra and now the thing is Toothbrush which is connected to internet..... I just read an article on NDTV about smart tooth brush . i was searching for CES suddenly i got this article, that says Brush smarter. That's the message from the makers of what is billed as the world's first Internet-connected toothbrush. Unveiled on Sunday at a preview event for the Consumer Electronics Show, the device from French-based startup Kolibree aims "to reinvent oral care," according to co-founder Loic Cessot. "The technology in the industry has not evolved for years," Cessot told AFP. "The idea is not to brush stronger, but smarter." The Kolibree toothbrush includes a sensor which detects how much tartar is being removed in a brushing. It also records brushing activity so users can maintain a consistent cleaning each time. The device conveys the information wirelessly to a smartphone app - a particularly useful aid for parents who want to monitor the teeth cleaning efforts of small children, according to Cessot. "When you use a normal toothbrush you never really know what you've cleaned. It might be 30 per cent. The only person who really knows is the dentist." But the app can tell users if they have missed hard-to-clean areas or are not getting a thorough brushing. The app, which is open for developers to add on other programs, aims to increase motivation and make the experience more fun, said Cessot. The self-funded startup created by Cessot and former Microsoft and Google executive Thomas Serval plans to release the toothbrush worldwide in the third quarter, getting a boost from a crowdsourcing effort. Orders will be available initially through Kickstarter from $99 to $200 ,depending on the model and will include a free mobile app.

So I just found out about this awesome looking game on Kickstarter. I've never really been able to get into most RTS games, not because I don't like the gameplay, but because none of theme have a theme I like. However, I LOVE space oriented games. So I'm really interested in trying this game. Kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2122031929/novus-aeterno-a-true-aaa-mmorts Gameplay video:

Post at /. I didn't grow up watching Star Trek, but this is kinda awesome. I know the feeling of having your favorite show go on haitus (anime for the Otakus out there, is rife with haitus'), but 45 years? Holy crap. Are any of you Star Trek fans excited for this? Is it too late for anyone to care?

So a while ago now there was a pretty cool kickstarter campaign for a blogging platform known as Ghost. It had an inspiring video and a 'trust me, I'm a cool guy who will make this happen' figurehead. It looked really cool. People agreed and it got funded. It got 784% funded. Well anyway, it released in the last few weeks. And now it turns out you can't use it on most web hosting platforms (shared hosting), which kind of forces you to change supplier or don't use it. http://www.howtoinstallghost.com/why-ghost-will-not-run-on-shared-hosting/ To be honest, I think it's a bit douchebaggy when this was not mentioned at the start, or indeed at any point up until release. (I may have missed it but I'm quite sure it's not.) I think it's important to hold kickstarters to account when they receive funding for ideas and aren't clear about their intentions. I think that people would have been less keen on the idea, and hence less willing to fund it, if they knew that they'd need to have a particular (and more expensive) type of hosting service. Did anyone here fund or intend to use it?

So this looks pretty freaking sweet. Kickstarter link Here The people involved with making this game have all worked on triple A titles like "Far cry 3" and "God of war" The game takes place in a post apocalyptic world, where surviving is implemented differently than other post apocalyptic games. UPDATE: They gave a lot of information on what exactly gameplay will be like. I can assume by now that this game will be 3D. Good details here I think the calorie concept and staying warm are both really cool.

I have an idea that may be of interest to the rest of the Linus Tech Tips Folding Community. I propose we start a kickstarter like funding mechanism to allow people to donate some cash towards building official Linus Tech Tips folding farms. Not everyone can afford a folding machine, and this way we can all contribute towards boosting the point production as a team. The computers could be built by Whaler or other admins and run under a new account called "official folding machine" that way there is no argument who gets the points for the machines calculations. I think this idea would greatly increase our ranking as well as give everyone a chance to contribute towards folding without having to purchase their own machines. I hope this can spark some interest among the forums, wether it be this method or any other that could make for a more dominant folding team. Fold Well My Friends!

Hi guys, Patreon is a website for content creators to have a venue to make their content profitable in some way, except that it is not technically profit as you do not pay for the content. Essentially, the way it works it as such: You make an account. Enter your details (information for paying the pledge such as CC information) along with whatever you want to add to your profile. You find an artist you like who does something you are interested in such as making videos to teach you a foreign language, creating music, drawing pictures/paintings, making comic books, or reviewing movies and such. Then you pledge to donate $X per piece of content they produce (a video, a song, a painting, a comic, a review, etc). At the end of the month, however many pieces of content they have made decides how much you pledge (you can create a hard cap on the total you give per month) and it is charged to you. You can offer to pledge anywhere from $0.25 per piece of content to whatever crazy amount you decide. Say they produce 5 [insert content]. Then you would be charged $1.25 at the end of the month and it would be given to them as a donation type thing. You receive the content regardless, so it is not exactly a subscription service. It is more like a hybrid between donations and subscription. This is a donation platform to enable you to directly give to content creators rather than having to go through other means such as simply watching their videos on Youtube. The idea is that you pledging money will make them more motivated and give them more time to create the content you want. You can cancel your pledge any time, so if you feel they are not creating what you want, you can do so. A friend of mine over at his website recently made it known to me and I thought it was pretty cool, so I wanted to share it with the forum. Thanks, Vitalius

What do you guys think about this? These guys are trying to start a new cloud storage service. The guys in the video seemed a little presumptious, stating that their gonna "change cloud storage forever". Who knows tho, it might be a good idea. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/clintgc/space-monkey-taking-the-cloud-out-of-the-datacente?ref=category

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a Kickstarter for a voxel-based game titled "7 Days to Die" and kind of shrugged it off as one of those games that, well it looked OK and was getting A LOT of support (about 250% of the Kickstarter goal http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/7daystodie/7-days-to-die-zombie-survival-game/posts/574089) but just seemed like another Minecraft ripoff (of which I have experienced quite a lot on the XBL Indie Marketplace). After seeing the Kickstarter tick away and various videos from quite big Youtubers I decided to buy into the Alpha after the Kickstarter was finished (no badge for me ) and gave it a go. I see a lot of potential with the game as far, it is in Alpha Build One currently and has been Greenlit on Steam, too, meaning that before long it should be a retail release on the Steam Marketplace. I would recommend anybody to buy into the alpha, but before you venure too far too quickly may I first point out that it is in alpha and is quite barebones and glitchy at the moment, but I can't wait to see what the community does with the game thorugh mods and what the developers actually add to it! So if you want to see what it is fully all about there's this link: http://7daystodie.com/ and also a "First Impressions" video by FRANKIEonPCin1080p: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2P3gr92Ap8 Thanks!

So, basically if anyone has played Starcraft and felt bad Blizzard hasn't released a MMO, well don't be more, Upheaval arts has got you covered, SCU is a free game playable by anyone who owns the free (Starter Edition) of Starcraft II, and yes, the intro is playable as of right now in SC2 launcher. Now, this game is independant from Blizzard, and is running a Kickstarter to get funded, so here it is http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/747939120/starcraft-universe Screnshots seem amazing, characters are fun to play, and ti seems really promising, so I would like if you guys could check it out. (For all SC fans, if they hit $1,000,000 dollar mark, they will recreate the whole Koprulu sector, oh yeah!)

Hi guys, I recently started actively backing kickstarter projects and I have found a game that looks pretty awesome and unique. It is called "Insignificant". You play a 2 inch tall player in a world full of regular sized things. Imagine if the guy from Shadow of Colossus were in a world made for the Colossi. It is made like Elder Scrolls to an extent. Loot exists. It is RPG in nature with stats, leveling, and proficiencies. An example of loot is that the main character has tin foil for armor and a needle for a weapon. That is just one example though. That is the type of open world RPG this is. I hope you guys like it enough to pledge. :D Thanks, Vitalius

Hey guys, Windspeed36 posted this in his status update, but I felt like making a thread on it just for those who aren't his friend (who wouldn't be? But wtv). Here's the kickstarter (8 days left as of posting) It's basically a mixture of a zombie survival game and Minecraft. It's as awesome as it sounds.

This system extracts 3-D data from ALL of your games and lets you play them in 3-D on ANY 2-D or 3-D TV for a better gaming experience. “In the unmarked office of 3-D Vision, Inc., you can see a television or PC display a videogame or movie with a convincing stereoscopic effect. That might not seem very unique. However, the television is a CRT from the 1990s, the video game is Super Mario for the Nintendo 64 and the movie is The Wizard of Oz, made in 1939.” Here is the link - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1991665813/instant-3-d-your-games-in-real-3-d-on-your-2-d-and?ref=category Who would have thought that all the information was already there to make anything from Game to a Movie or any piece of visual media and could be viewed in 3D on a 2D monitor or TV. This is awesome and if you are not a backer yet, you should be! Watch the video on the page for more info.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1944625487/omni-move-naturally-in-your-favorite-game Well, I'm getting an Omni. All the $300-$400 pledges are taken, so I'm going for the $429. For an Omni plus all the accessories, that's pretty good imo for new technology. Hurry, before they are all gone. :P Still, $500k+ that quickly with 48 days left? ... I think gamers want VR. And bad.
