Hi This isn't a desperate situation but I think it's unusual enough to document, after a quick Google search last night and I couldn't find anything quite similar to what I'm experiencing here either. So for a few years now I have been using a Logitech K230 / M325 keyboard & mouse paired with their 'Unifying' receiver. They were gloriously cheap and effective for daily browsing & light gaming, I can bash away with them without fear of breaking anything expensive and if I need to do a lot of serious typing for study or business I plugin a lovely old Honeywell for that. Lately, the mouse has been a little off with right & left click not always going off correctly or holding fully while pressed, so I figured I'd might as well go and buy a new combo kit... So I picked up a Logitech K220 / M150 combo on clearence for $19 (AUD). The first thing I notice is no 'Unifying' branding on the (larger) dongle and the moulding for the new K220 is the same as the older K230 but doesn't have the cut-out for a power switch anymore. It must have also been on the shelf for a while, because the AAA batteries for the keyboard were dead when I put them in. Pulled the old dongle, fitted the new one and off I went, except... I didn't realize it at first, but there's something seriously wrong with this keyboard. Demonstrating in notepad, When I hit the 'b' key it actually types 'bu*'. If I hit b repeatedly, it changes case and goes 'bu*BU*bu*BU*bu*BU*' - it also opens the Calculator app each time, as if I'm hitting Func. + F4, which is marked as a Calc key. Hitting Func. + F4 on the older K230 does nothing. When I hit the 'v' key, it types 'gyv'. If I keep hitting v, it repeats 'gyvgyvgyv' but moves the cursor back to the end of the first three letters and sometimes, if you move it back to the end, adds an '8' and goes to the next line... When I hit the 'r' key it types 'cn1`r\'. If I hit the number 6 it types '5z' and puts my PC to sleep! Really "fun" when it goes off for the first time... if I still had the box I'd re-gift it as a gag. My operating system is Windows 10, I've moved the dongle around to different USB ports (2.0/3), there's no 2.4Ghz devices nearby to interfere and I've only had this keyboard for like 2 days, so nothing rattles when I shake it and it hasn't become like the bin of a bakery yet. I tossed the box and receipt when I got it so it probably isn't going back to the shop now, but it was only $19 so my wallet just has to take the hit. That being said, if anyone knows of a fix or has had this problem and/or has some other trouble shooting tips I'd be happy to see them. Is it some weird driver thing? Is it the water in the toilet spinning backwards down here?

Hey guys, I was started moding my first keyboard, it's a reddragon k522 and I cut the cable and soldered the wires onto a USB-C breakout board. I just finished soldering and when I checked the keyboard, there's no input. It lights up, also there's no windows UBS connection sound. Did I kill my keyboard? How should I go on about troubleshooting the board? Any help is appreciated.

So, i cleaned my keyboard today and the way i clean it is that i completely disassemble it, wash the "body" and the keys and then put it back together. I usually have problems with keys not working but i always manage to fix them but today, when i fixed it, all the numbers except 5 and 6 were not working. scroll lock and pause break also didnt work. I tried disassembling it and then assembling it again but nothing. I googled it and found out that many other people had this problem so i tried the troubleshooting tips that i found. None worked, i tried reinstalling the drivers, updating them etc. i also tried holding alt+ctrl+enter but that didnt help either. I opened up bios and the numbers didnt work there either. I hooked up another keyboard to my pc and the numbers there worked. So can anybody help me with this hardware issue. And btw the keyboard i have is a Chinese motospeed k70 membrane keyboard.

I have been looking for a mechanical keyboard with both Arabic and English lettering. I have a keyboard (a Logitech G610) that I can switch out the key caps, but I have had no luck finding a set or a template. Does anyone have a recommendation for a keyboard or a key set or template anywhere? I appreciate any help.

I have already shared this problem and some time has passed and the problem stopped at least i thought. Problem is that i recantly upgraded my pc. I upgraded gpu, cpu and psu. Psu has enough waltage for pc specs. Pc specs are rayzen 7 5800x, rtx 4070 oc, 16 gb ram and 750w psu 80 plus. After a windows update pc restarted couple of times and keyboard and mouse and displays both had no life. By no life i mean no signal to pc so i dont know is the update done or still going. After some time i didn't know what to do and yes i have force shut it down. Was not sure was the update done. And well after i turned it on it wasnt done with update but at least my keyboard and mice and displays were alive. Now ik i could have corrupted my files but i didn't know what to do. Same problem happened one more time when i turned on pc and the displays went to sleep cos it was on put in a passwords screen and again keyboards light is off so is mouse and no display. Turned the pc off and on and problem is gone. After that incident that problem didn't happen for couple of days and thought that problem was solved and now well new update on windows came in bigger one like last one restarted pc couple of times and well here i am again with the same problem. I checked cables and and putting them in and out didn't help. When pc is on and working its working like a charm but this problem is puzzling. Hope someone has an idea. Thank you

So last year I bought my first mechanical keyboard (a corsair K70 RGB MK.2 with Cherry MX Red switches) together with some new keycaps (PBT Double-shot keycaps from corsair) as the original was in AZERTY and I wanted a QWERTY layout. This worked fine for a year and I really like the feeling of the red switches. However first the "/?" keycap broke, and I was like "sure, that can happen, I do use it somewhat regularly" and now the "F11" keycap broke as well and I almost never use the F keys other than F1 to F3. After looking at how it broke: on both keycaps the stem cracked and split into 2. Of course I did check if I could get a warranty on it. And the response is "sure, just pay 14.99 USD to get the original keycaps (not the PBT double-shot) for a maximum of 10 keycaps" knowing that the full set of 105 PBT keycaps is 34.99€ (around 36.87 USD), so for "only" double I could get a full replacement set. Now at the moment I did put in the original keycaps as a replacement (or at least the "/:" instead of the "/?") so I can continue to use it. But I'm disappointed that my old keyboard for 15 USD on dx didn't have any problems for over ten years, and only broke after I spilled coffee over it (for maybe the 5th time). And the "expensive" option only lasts a year without any abuse with no real warranty options even though they say it has 2 years of it. Sorry for the rant, but I did need to get this experience out of my chest. Also as a reminder for everyone and mostly myself that even more deluxe options can still break, and that going with a bigger brand doesn't guaranty a better customer service.

Hi For three weeks i have tried to get the dell customer support to answer a simple question. I am wondering weather the french/english Canadian keyboard is in ISO or ANSI layout. Dell seems unable to answer this super basic question about one of their most expensive laptops. Do anyone happen to either have the laptop or have a way of answering the question? In case that would be very appreciated.

Recently, my ducky mini one 2 has had a very high latency especially in games. Sometimes if I tap W once It'll register almost a second later and keep going for a second or 2 before stopping. Can anyone help me? I've already updated the firmware and I don't really wanna buy a new one.. I wanna note that I have spilled a small bit of ketchup on it 2 days ago. It wasnt in the middle or anything, and seemed to pass the circuit board. After opening the keyboard the ketchup passed by everything and didn't seem to have touched the PCB. help please T.T

Asus laptop (g512lw) keyboard not working Just a little back story about 6-8months ago my laptop stopped booting up. Troubleshoot as much I felt I could. Gave up for a few months and thought I’d plug it and and see. It booted up and everything worked for about 10 minutes shutdown and wouldn’t reboot. Soo I… -Checked charger voltage and battery voltage they checked out. -Tried removing battery and just booting off charger power None of that worked. -Replaced battery and now it seems to boot up continuously without a problem as far as starting Problem now is the keyboard doesn’t work and RGB. I don’t care as much about the RGB but I would like for the keyboard to work. The Caps lock light is continuously lit and keyboard is completely unresponsive and no backlit keys. I tried installing drivers and windows troubleshooter. Unplugged and replied the keyboard on the mobo. All with the same result. I have ordered another keyboard and am waiting for it to show up in the mail but does anyone have any other ideas or insight as to what the problem is? None of the plugs were damaged or anything during battery replacement. keyboard has also been replaced as of today.

Hi, I need a new keyboard : Right now I use a cheap 100% CSL keyboard I got with my dad's prebuilt PC (that I replaced most parts of by now), it's a membrande keyboard with a 1,5 or 2mm key travel, I'm not cerain. I like that, I like tactile and low profile keycaps and especially low key travel and it has, lighting. The problem is, it felt cheap compared to laptop keyboards(what I am used to) from the get go and after about 7 months of use, some keys feel really mushy, which I have never experienced on a laptop keyboard. It's pretty annoying so I'd like to get a new, better quality keyboard and I might need it for school too. My laptop broke down(there is no way I can afford a new one) so I have to use my moms laptop in class, the problem is it's AZERTY, that's slightly annoying for writing, but definitely very annoying for math and physiks and it doesn't have a num-pad. After getting used to QWERTY, AZERTY and QWERTZ I've come to realise QWERTY is really good for writing basic text in multiple languages, same for QWERTZ but you can easily write more complex text and symbols, for math and stuff. At least in my opinion. So basically my requirements are 100%, QWERTZ (I'll send a pic because there a few QWERTZ keyboards use the QWERTY layout for symbols which makes it useless), low profile and very low key travel, tactile if possible but I guess linear is fine, with key lighting if possible and it'd be great if I can easily transport it to use it in school. It should also be relatively silent. Do you have any ideas? if possible under 50€. I'm from France btw, but I can buy stuff from Germany without any trouble. That is basically the layout I need but 60% istead of 100%. That is the standard German QWERTZ keyboard layout. You can quickly recognize it by looking at left-shift, it's cut in half for the <>| key. The bottom row can vary, but that usually doesn't matter.

I was taking off my kys and putting thm in th sam ordr as a standard Dvorak kyboard, but I scratchd somthing in my ky nxt to o so know i can't typ it. How do I fix it?

Hey, I've been using my ASUS TUF Gaming F15 quite frequently. Unfortunately, the keycaps on the laptop have started to crack, or the color has faded, making it difficult to read which key is which. Where can I find replacement keycaps for my laptop? Are there any stores that sell them? Can I contact ASUS for replacement parts? My laptop is the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX506HM-HN115T, with a QWERTZ (German) layout. Thank you in advance for your answers!

I just bought this keyboard (Microsoft Wired600 ANB-00030) thinking that black letters on white keys may have better visibility than the other way around. However, I didn't open it because I think I'll have to return it. The keyboard is indeed white, but it appears to also have white letters! Or at least that's how it's pictured in the box (see pic). The Amazon picture was low res and blurry so I couldn't make out the letters (on closer inspection they may have been white all along). I looked at the pictures submitted by the clients though, and every single one of their keyboards has black (or at least dark grey) letters, none of them is white on white. I did a google search but it's hard to find specific info. Does anybody happen to have any knowledge about this keyboard? Is it really all white? EDIT: I opened the box and it turned out that the letters are black (although, it's more of a dark grey on light grey situation rather than a black on white one, the contrast is not as good as I hoped it to be). I have no idea why they picture the letters white in the box and in the promotion material.

First and foremost, the warranty of the keyboard has elapsed (purchased Apr 2021) and Keychron has a strained relationship with after-sales services[1][2][3][4] and reportedly any calls for help fall to deaf ears once the warranty has elapsed so I'm on my own for this one. Apparently, it's "normal" for the USB-C port to feel shaky[5] (though there seems to be opposing claims as well[6]) and while I've felt the port is a bit flimsy at times, it's been mostly fine, until now. If attempting to connect it, the battery light does glow alongside the RGB but no keystrokes are registered, unless the port is wiggled around (and you can wiggle it around quite a bit) till you find a particular angle. Of course, to get at that angle, I have to tilt the board 90 degrees and brute force the sweet spot but even then, I can awkwardly type a few characters before it is no longer "just right" and I lose the ability to type at all. I can still see the RGB but that's not the primary function of a keyboard. I've tried about four different cables, cleaned the USB-C port, connected it without intermediate USB devices (hubs), tried different computers, nothing. This seems to be solidly a keyboard problem. Now, I don't want to throw away this keyboard, I bought it as a "lifetime" keyboard, buying the aluminum model (which thrust upon me RGB that I never wanted but eh, I get it, making multiple SKUs is not very cost effective) and the carrying case but replacing USB-C ports seems... non-trivial[7]. I use a Hackintosh and Bluetooth isn't playing nice so I can't use that. Now what? Sources:

I wanted to buy a set of keycaps, but I'm not sure which keycaps will fit, any MX keycaps? No? I totally dunno since I'm kinda newbie to keyboards, and the only ones I could find with specific compatibility it's the ones from Corsair, which I don't really like. Thanks <3

Hello humans, I have a keychron k1 wireless keyboard, 87 key variant. Currently, they have low profile gateron blues in them. They work fine, but I wanted a slightly quiter typing experience because I care about the people around me. I believe this keyboard has hot swapable switches (see attached pic) so I think the switches from Gateron should do the trick: https://www.gateron.co/products/gateron-low-profile-mechanical-switch-set However, looking at the pic on gateron's site vs my switches and keycaps, the shape looks different. What I mean to say is that I can probably hot swap the switches out, but will the original key caps I have that came standard with the K1 work with these new switches? If not, can someone either recommend me quite brown switches that would work with these key caps OR could you point me to low profile key caps that would fit the Gateron switches I linked above? Either that or I just keep annoying people around me. I mean, no offense if you're a blue switches fan. No judgement... Thanks! so i want to get the razer basilisk v3/v3 pro (not sure yet) and a razer huntsman turnament edition cost for the keyboard is 130 usd and for the mouse its about 70 for the v3 and 160 for the v3 pro so are there any better alternatives for a simular price or cheaper? if there are any alternatives please tell me i will be very thankful

Hello, I've tried mech keyboards at the LTX last weekend. I walked away pretty impressed with the Kailh Sherbet switches. I'm new to the mech keyboard scene, and trying a few of the keyboards on display there was basically the first time trying anything besides Cherry mx blues and browns. The sherbet switches felt great to me, the only comment that came to mind is maybe with a bit of lube they'd be amazing. I want to get a low-profile keyboard. I'm considering a Nuphy Air96. So the question is, which low-profile switches are the closest to the Kailh sherbet switches? Thanks! Edit.. hmm after doing some reading about the sherbets maybe I should try more key switches.

Hello everyone So, basically, I'm looking for a laptop that should be the best in every aspect (at least for me). I've asked Chat GPT, friends, retailers and Google, but no one found the laptop that I'm looking for. So, maybe here, in LTT forums some one could be the resolver for my issue? Let's say that money isn't the issue. What I need from the device: 1. Display - 4k OLED, Touch, perfebly 120HZ but I'll be find with 60hz. Size does not matter for me. Small, big, medium... 2. Keyboard - Full keyboard with a numpad. 3. CPU & Ram - Don't really care, anything from ryzen 5 / Core i7 would be fine for me. Don't care of it's U/P/H version of a cpu. 4. Have pen integrated to the device 5. Optional - If possible, ethernet port? Currently the only device that fits what I'm looking for is the X1 Yoga Gen 8, but it's without the full keyboard! What else could you recommend for me? Thank you!

I have this issue with my pc that my peripherals stop working randomly. Whenever im using the computer, everything is just working fine until i see some stutters/lags in the mouse cursor, (it started happening out of nowhere and totally random) mouse cursor jitters for a second or two and then becomes normal if you are lucky(other devices like keyboard and headphones also stop working for a moment) Otherwise if not so lucky, all the devices would just stop working, the headphones make a sound similar to a broken speaker and in the end i have to just hard power off the computer. Happens in a totally random pattern. *The pc seems to be working fine when the devices stop working, it occurred to me when gaming and the game world was rendering just fine and everything seemed like just the devices have been disconnected from the computer. **Nothing happens if i disconnect and reconnect the usb cables. I don't know what it is, seems like a driver of some sort but cant figure it out. Looked up multiple forums and articles but got nothing. Anyone else who encountered similar issue, any help would be appreciated.***I have attached a video that shows what is the current situation cuz my explanation skills kinda suck. Since a couple days ago, i finally became the proud owner of the JTK Tian Wen set including the special edition BBOX60 case. I waited close to half a year for this set, and i think it's one of the best looking sets out there! The BBOX60 gives it a lovely retro look because of the big bezels, and the caps are thick, quality caps that give the board a lovely sounding 'thock'. Lets modify this set to be wireless! The board now Kailh heavy Box Burnt Orange switches Brass plate GH60 PCB JTK Tian Wen caps BBOX60 case I really want to keep this layout, with the arrow cluster in a 60% footprint. So here's what i wanna do: The plan The coolermaster SK622 is a wireless keyboard with the same layout i want to keep on my board. I'll gut the coolermaster board to harvest the wireless PCB/battery. swap out the plate and switches for the brass plate and new Kailh Box Blacks. The coolermaster board has the USB connector on the wrong place, but because of the retro bezels of the BBOX60 case i can just use a USB extender cable to re-route it to the proper spot. And if everything goes to plan, my little board should be wireless! Depending on how much room i have left in this case, i want to fill it up with some acoustic foam aswell. So that's it for now, the new switches and donor board are on their way. Expect updates soon!

I am looking for keyboard recommendation! I am not keyboard geek so pls forgive my ignorance concerning terminology and the like. I like the key profile of the compaq keyboard shown in the attached pic. I like the feeling of a Dell Latitude 2120 keyboard's keys. I want RGB. I would like standard media keys somewhere (play/pause, next, previous, volume up down mute, etc.) whether on function keys or separate. I am used to size keyboard from Dell Latitude 3160 to standard odm dell keyboard. I prefer not to spend a whole lot – preferably under $40-50. Must have numpad with numlock, function keys, and arrow keys in normal position. Also I'd prefer a little bit smaller than normal size (referrig to the compaq and dell key oard as normal here).
