Hello I am posting this in hope to fix my keyboard layout. I have currently an US international layout on my keyboard and it worked fine up until a few weeks ago. Windows 10 seem to have suddenly desided that US international is no longer the same as before. It suddenly stoped reacting to the right alt on my keyboard for the special characters. It still detects the keys but it just doesn't do anything with them. I currently am using the mhu/micro symbol a lot which is supposed to be under the key combination m + right alt, but nothing happens when I type it. It also does not matter in which program I am working. I already tried changing the layout away from us international and back but still nothing. Does anyone know a possible solution for it? Already big thanks for reading my post :)

Just putting it out there: Corsair currently has their K63 Wireless on sale (Cherry MX Red) for $50, which is less than half the MSRP. The product page says it qualifies for free shipping but it'll still try to charge you for shipping, so you might need to contact support for that. Context: it seems like this keyboard has been discontinued by Corsair (or so I was told by Corsair support), along with its lapboard pair which apparently can't be found anywhere for a while now. Still a pretty good keyboard for a very good price, so if you're ok with the fact that support will likely be limited going forward, it's a great deal. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/keyboards/ch-9145030-na/k63-wireless-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-blue-led-cherry-mx-red-ch-9145030-na

Bluetooth and wired connection doesn't work at all. 2.4 GHz works, but only until the RGB turns off for battery saving. After I press a button so the keyboard lights turning on again the PC doesn't recieves the inputs anymore. If I turn it off and back on it works again, but only until the light goes off. If it would work only in wired mode I would be still mad (I bought a wirelless keyboard for a reason), but at least I could use it. It's crazy... I don't want to mess with their stupid softwares because those have alredy gave Me enough headaches. It's not My first annoying issue so I slowly start to hate this product. The worst part is that with this condition I can't even sell it. For the past few minutes, while I write this dumb article I'm using the keyboard with no problem, but only because I didn't let it to go to sleep mode, so this means it's not the USB port's fault. Sadly. Any help? UPDATE: So I messed with it a bit and turnd out that now bluetooth works, but ofc with the same wake up problem. I tought maybe the wired conection isn't working because something happened with the original cable so I tried it with another one, but still nothing. I tried to use it in wirelless mode and charging it as well, because I tought this way it wouldn't go in sleep (why would it if it constanly getting power?), but He doesn't care at all and goes to sleep no matter what. I can't even use firmware updater, because the PC's doesn't recognise it in wired mode and the software doesn't work wirellessly. I have a beautifull video as well. I ran into this issue a little bit yesterday on my computer, but then restarting my computer fixed it. Now a coworker has experienced something similar so I'm interested to know how wide spread this might be. The issue relates to keyboard inputs only registering in certain program/applications and not others. KEYBOARD INPUTS NOT REGISTERING IN WINDOWS, BUT DOES IN OTHER PROGRAMS Windows 10 OS, it looks like the OS is no longer registering keyboard inputs within only Windows, but other programs/software's do. For example if I press the Windows key the task bar will open like normal but typing characters and nothing is registering. But if I select Google Chrome which I have open I am able to type and get characters to show up there just fine. OSK - Key presses My computer is working well now, but when I open OSK I see that only certain key presses on my keyboard are registering on the OSK GUI. I find it odd that regular characters are no longer showing signs of being actively used but others do. For example SHIFT, Windows Key, CTRL, CAPS Lock will register (toggle their color). But all the other characters (letters, numbers, misc) are no longer registering in the OSK GUI. . I suspect Windows released an update or drivers changes relating to input devices and was curious if others saw the same behavior or knew what was going on. Thanks for reading and any feedback you might provide.

I have just bought a new laptop , Asus's x13 2022 version , and for some reason my laptop's keyboard keeps going to sleep. If i don't use it constantly it will take like 2-3 seconds for it to "wake up" and start actually working. during that time the keys queue up and they all appear at once. When it's not sleeping it works fine. The os is windows 11. Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I'm looking for a new keyboard after spilling tea on my current one (Yes I am British and I'm also a moron). I have a few requirements and a few nice to-haves which I've listed below. Appreciate any recommendations! Thank you! Budget - $90-$120 CAD ($70-$90 USD) - Could stretch it a touch further for the perfect keyboard Shipping - I am based in Toronto, Canada and I would like it ASAP if possible! So ideally something is available on Amazon.ca or from a Canadian store, I don't mind a small wait if it ticks more boxes. Requirements - Must have NumPad - Must be QWERTY (probably goes without saying but just in case) - Wireless. I'm running low on USB sockets and space and would rather avoid needing to buy another USB dock - Standard-sized keys and layout Nice to have - Profiles, like the Logi MX Master series mouse, the ability to switch between multiple computers would be amazing (I have a work, gaming, and server PC I fairly regularly switch between) - Not too loud, it doesn't need to be silent, just prefer it not to wake up the neighbors when I type - Gaming, I do play video games so something decent at gaming would be a plus. I am not crazy into FPS games or anything, but will play them occasionally - Backlit, not that fussed, but it can be useful on occasion I don't care - What it looks like, honestly don't mind color, etc - RGB, don't care if it has RGB or doesn't. As I use it for work if it did have RGB I'd like to be able to turn it off or control it enough. - Mechanical, it doesn't need to be mechanical, as long as it ticks the main boxes I don't mind Happy to answer additional questions if you have any. Appreciate any recommendations! Thank you!

I am taking apart a laptop that had coffee spilled on it and the coffee didn't make it past the keyboard and I only saw traces of it in a motherboard screw. The keyboard ribbon feels stuck I have tried tweezers and very carefully with pliers but to no avail, there is no flip-up thing. Is there something I can use to loosen it up?

Hello there! I have the BlackWidow V3 keyboard, for around a year. few months ago it started to have this weird problem of which i didnt find a solution online. Some keys sometimes double print, sometime not reacting but the WEIRD thing is that its changing between the keys! randomly! it could be one key then 10 seconds later be another one Now, I cleaned the keyboard (removed the caps and removed dust and whatever) but the problem is the same. anyone has any idea how to solve this? thanks, me

I have this Azio Levetron L70 keyboard that I wanted to clean. I have brought one of those wired keypuller from Amazon not knowing that they're for mechanical keyboard only. And when I pulled it, one of the side of the plastic holder that was underneath the key brokes. I tried on a few more keys and I broke every one of them except one. The keys work fine when I put them back, but how exactly do I properly remove them?

Looking for a silent mechanical keyboard, that I can use in an office setting. Not looking for something overly gamey looking. Would really like a retro look if possible. Max budget $150, looking for black friday/cyber monday deals especially. Thanks!

Hey everyone, this is my first post here, so I apologize if I posted this in the wrong location or if I did not include a required tag. I'm looking for a gaming keyboard that is also good for work. I do a lot of typing, and I like my current keyboard (Logitech G413 Carbon), but it has started to double-type, skip letters, and some keys would literally just fall off the keyboard randomly. I would like some recommendations for a mechanical keyboard that won't cause these issues after a year or two of purchasing it. Ideally, I also prefer quiet mechanical keyboards as I have people in my household, and I don't want to be obnoxious. Oh, and I also really like my full-size keyboard with a numpad as I use it a lot for work. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for the keyboard I should go for. I live in Ontario, Canada, and my budget is around $100-150 CAD. So, to summarize: Budget: $100-150 CAD Region: Ontario, Canada Layout: US ANSI Size: Full Sized Keyboard Connectivity: Wired and Wireless is both fine.

Hey y'all, I just need somewhere to vent and warn people about this since I got introduced to Keychron Keyboards through ShortCircuit. 3-4 Weeks ago I've got my company to order me a Keychron K8 Pro as work equipment. After some initial Bluetooth issues (connected once to my notebook then for 3 days it wouldnt until it just worked again) I now have issues with my left arrow key. It constantly drops inputs. So I tried to contact the german support (keychron.de), since im from there. The only ways to contact support are via a mail form or online chat. The online chat states they respond in a couple of minutes. After not receiving a reply for a couple of hours I used the mail form to write them a message. Funny thing is, that after sending the message I didnt even get a confirmation email that they have received my request or anything. So I wasn't sure if that worked and tried to contact the main support (keychron.com). They dont have a chat, only way to contact them is by mail. So I did that. Atleast they send a confirmation mail that they have recieved my request. So thats nice. Well then I waited. I closed my keychron.de tab with the support chat since I contacted them by mail and thought I would receive a reply that way. Welp. This morning I havent heard anything from them, so I thought I reopen my keychron.de Tab and check if the chat had a new reply. And suprisingly 22 hours later I have received one. In an chat where the support agent doesnt know if the customer is even still there or not. Hella unprofessional in my eyes. Customer Service is also part of my job, so I know for a fact that this is not how you handle such a thing. The response was just a sentence where they asked for my order number. Which in my eyes is odd. You have the serial number for one of your products. That should be enough for you to verify and check the sale or waranty status. This whole ordeal has turned into utter frustration on my side. The defective item is a freakin keyswitch. Which is worth what? A dollar maybe? The keyboard is hotswapable and even in their quick start guide they state when they have to replace somethign they just ship that part. Rest is easy serviceable. So why does it take so long to replace a single keyswitch. The time invested by me and the customer service agent faaaaaaaar exceeds the value of the switch or what keychron would lose if they would just ask for the adress and send one over. So far I havent heard back from them and at this point I start to dont care anymore. I just swapped the defective left arrow switch with the one for rgb (since i dont use that key very often). So atleast I have a "functioning" product again. TL;DR: Really like the keyboard from the feeling and everything. But I cant and wont recommend buying anything from keychron. Support so far is awful and slow. Replacing a Dollar-Part shouldnt take 2 days to figure out. PS: While typing this I also noticed that some keystrokes where just not recognized while using the keyboard in bluetooth mode. My work laptop is maybe 50 cm away from the keyboard and nothing else is connected via bluetooth. Plugged in it works fine.

Hello, I'll keep this nice and easy and get straight to the point because this is likely the 1000th post of this type here, so sorry about that. I'm looking for a new mechanical keyboard. Usage: Casual gaming, general office, and life usage I like 100% keyboards Wired Individually backlit is ideal but zoned gets the job done (RGB does actually add frames) Price limit is £150 however this is not a hard limit Don't care about wrist rests Dedicated macro buttons aren't a necessity but I do like the F keys being reprogrammable on Logitech keyboards Not entirely concerned about construction materials I've only ever had the G-Roamer switches from Logitech which is apparently fairly close to Cherry MX Browns (I don't think the switches will be a major deciding factor but I thought I'd put this here just to give a little context as to what I'm familiar with) I presently have the Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum, I do enjoy having the media controls offered by this keyboard (the volume roller and play pause etc buttons), I initially looked at the G213 progidy but doing a little search on the dome switches showed they were generic dome switches jazzed up with marketing speech. The other one I considered was the G910 Orion Spectrum, this was right on my budget but I feel I'm paying more for the Arx phone dock thing that I never plan on using. I did ask on Reddit and only got 1 suggestion, that was the Keychron Q6 QMK. I was initially interested in this one but the UK ISO is unavailable on their site, and elsewhere it's more expensive, so I'm looking for further suggestions. Thank you in advanced.

I need a board for my Dad that I plan to give as a gift for Christmas alongside a portable monitor for his work. I already have switches to give him from my previous setup (Milky Yellows and/or Gateron Greens) but I don't know what non RGB board I could buy him. Preferably I want to get him a board that'll go on sale during Black Friday so I don't have to go super budget but it definitely needs to be 100%. Also, he's adamant about having USB passthru on the backside of the board for his mouse. It's an absolute must. Additionally, he really needs things like these shortcuts at the very top of his current board. See attached image for what I mean. (Volume slider not important but welcome) I hope I'm not asking for too much, but I'd really like to surprise him.

Recently I started making a backup to an external hdd, and during data transfer process, the keyboard sometimes either freezes, enters a bootloop or completely shuts down until I unplug it and plug it back in. External HDD is connected to PC via a docking station. It all happens very randomly. Mouse works fine. HDD docking station is connected to the motherboard via the front panel, keyboard via back IO (directly connected to the motherboard). The keyboard is a steelseries Apex 5. Tried resetting firmware, updating drivers, installing and uninstalling steelseries app to no avail. When no data is being transferred, the keyboard works fine. Any ideas what's going on?

Hi there, basically my question is, if I get a Barebone keyboard that's in ISO layout, do I get ISO-DE layout with the correct keycaps and language setting in Windows or is that basic ISO with just the large enter? Kind of a dumb question but anyways...

Hi This isn't a desperate situation but I think it's unusual enough to document, after a quick Google search last night and I couldn't find anything quite similar to what I'm experiencing here either. So for a few years now I have been using a Logitech K230 / M325 keyboard & mouse paired with their 'Unifying' receiver. They were gloriously cheap and effective for daily browsing & light gaming, I can bash away with them without fear of breaking anything expensive and if I need to do a lot of serious typing for study or business I plugin a lovely old Honeywell for that. Lately, the mouse has been a little off with right & left click not always going off correctly or holding fully while pressed, so I figured I'd might as well go and buy a new combo kit... So I picked up a Logitech K220 / M150 combo on clearence for $19 (AUD). The first thing I notice is no 'Unifying' branding on the (larger) dongle and the moulding for the new K220 is the same as the older K230 but doesn't have the cut-out for a power switch anymore. It must have also been on the shelf for a while, because the AAA batteries for the keyboard were dead when I put them in. Pulled the old dongle, fitted the new one and off I went, except... I didn't realize it at first, but there's something seriously wrong with this keyboard. Demonstrating in notepad, When I hit the 'b' key it actually types 'bu*'. If I hit b repeatedly, it changes case and goes 'bu*BU*bu*BU*bu*BU*' - it also opens the Calculator app each time, as if I'm hitting Func. + F4, which is marked as a Calc key. Hitting Func. + F4 on the older K230 does nothing. When I hit the 'v' key, it types 'gyv'. If I keep hitting v, it repeats 'gyvgyvgyv' but moves the cursor back to the end of the first three letters and sometimes, if you move it back to the end, adds an '8' and goes to the next line... When I hit the 'r' key it types 'cn1`r\'. If I hit the number 6 it types '5z' and puts my PC to sleep! Really "fun" when it goes off for the first time... if I still had the box I'd re-gift it as a gag. My operating system is Windows 10, I've moved the dongle around to different USB ports (2.0/3), there's no 2.4Ghz devices nearby to interfere and I've only had this keyboard for like 2 days, so nothing rattles when I shake it and it hasn't become like the bin of a bakery yet. I tossed the box and receipt when I got it so it probably isn't going back to the shop now, but it was only $19 so my wallet just has to take the hit. That being said, if anyone knows of a fix or has had this problem and/or has some other trouble shooting tips I'd be happy to see them. Is it some weird driver thing? Is it the water in the toilet spinning backwards down here?

Hey guys, I was started moding my first keyboard, it's a reddragon k522 and I cut the cable and soldered the wires onto a USB-C breakout board. I just finished soldering and when I checked the keyboard, there's no input. It lights up, also there's no windows UBS connection sound. Did I kill my keyboard? How should I go on about troubleshooting the board? Any help is appreciated.

So, i cleaned my keyboard today and the way i clean it is that i completely disassemble it, wash the "body" and the keys and then put it back together. I usually have problems with keys not working but i always manage to fix them but today, when i fixed it, all the numbers except 5 and 6 were not working. scroll lock and pause break also didnt work. I tried disassembling it and then assembling it again but nothing. I googled it and found out that many other people had this problem so i tried the troubleshooting tips that i found. None worked, i tried reinstalling the drivers, updating them etc. i also tried holding alt+ctrl+enter but that didnt help either. I opened up bios and the numbers didnt work there either. I hooked up another keyboard to my pc and the numbers there worked. So can anybody help me with this hardware issue. And btw the keyboard i have is a Chinese motospeed k70 membrane keyboard.

I have been looking for a mechanical keyboard with both Arabic and English lettering. I have a keyboard (a Logitech G610) that I can switch out the key caps, but I have had no luck finding a set or a template. Does anyone have a recommendation for a keyboard or a key set or template anywhere? I appreciate any help.

I have already shared this problem and some time has passed and the problem stopped at least i thought. Problem is that i recantly upgraded my pc. I upgraded gpu, cpu and psu. Psu has enough waltage for pc specs. Pc specs are rayzen 7 5800x, rtx 4070 oc, 16 gb ram and 750w psu 80 plus. After a windows update pc restarted couple of times and keyboard and mouse and displays both had no life. By no life i mean no signal to pc so i dont know is the update done or still going. After some time i didn't know what to do and yes i have force shut it down. Was not sure was the update done. And well after i turned it on it wasnt done with update but at least my keyboard and mice and displays were alive. Now ik i could have corrupted my files but i didn't know what to do. Same problem happened one more time when i turned on pc and the displays went to sleep cos it was on put in a passwords screen and again keyboards light is off so is mouse and no display. Turned the pc off and on and problem is gone. After that incident that problem didn't happen for couple of days and thought that problem was solved and now well new update on windows came in bigger one like last one restarted pc couple of times and well here i am again with the same problem. I checked cables and and putting them in and out didn't help. When pc is on and working its working like a charm but this problem is puzzling. Hope someone has an idea. Thank you

So last year I bought my first mechanical keyboard (a corsair K70 RGB MK.2 with Cherry MX Red switches) together with some new keycaps (PBT Double-shot keycaps from corsair) as the original was in AZERTY and I wanted a QWERTY layout. This worked fine for a year and I really like the feeling of the red switches. However first the "/?" keycap broke, and I was like "sure, that can happen, I do use it somewhat regularly" and now the "F11" keycap broke as well and I almost never use the F keys other than F1 to F3. After looking at how it broke: on both keycaps the stem cracked and split into 2. Of course I did check if I could get a warranty on it. And the response is "sure, just pay 14.99 USD to get the original keycaps (not the PBT double-shot) for a maximum of 10 keycaps" knowing that the full set of 105 PBT keycaps is 34.99€ (around 36.87 USD), so for "only" double I could get a full replacement set. Now at the moment I did put in the original keycaps as a replacement (or at least the "/:" instead of the "/?") so I can continue to use it. But I'm disappointed that my old keyboard for 15 USD on dx didn't have any problems for over ten years, and only broke after I spilled coffee over it (for maybe the 5th time). And the "expensive" option only lasts a year without any abuse with no real warranty options even though they say it has 2 years of it. Sorry for the rant, but I did need to get this experience out of my chest. Also as a reminder for everyone and mostly myself that even more deluxe options can still break, and that going with a bigger brand doesn't guaranty a better customer service.
