Hey there everyone it seems that today my k70 (NOT the RGB brand) decided to throw a fit and now i have no clue on how to fix it. So the problem is that from what i can tell, while the keyboard is plugged in it connects and then constantly disconnects and reconnects with no end at all. The keys do register while the keyboard is registered as "connected" but that lasts for like half a second before it disconnects and reconnects. The backlights do work since i've managed to get them to turn on while it's disconnecting and reconnecting. The only problem is that it goes off whenever it disconnects and reconnects. So what have i done so far to try and fix this problem? I've tried restarting my computer (didn't fix the problem) I've tried unplugging and replugging it back in (Didn't fix the problem) I've tried plugging it into other USB ports including USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports with no avail I've tried plugging it into other computers and it still has the same problem. I've tried uninstalling the drivers for the keyboard from device manager (which constantly refreshes while the keyboard is connected due to it connecting and disconnecting) this didn't fix it either I've connected my old Logitech G510 membrane keyboard to use for the time being (feels like crap compared to the MX blues on my k70) and as you can see it works fine in the USB port i've chosen and a few others i've tested so it has nothing to do with the USB ports. This can only lead to one conclusion and that is that my K70 potentially has a fault. The only recent change i've made to my computer was an upgrade in my GTX 780Ti graphics drivers but that didn't trigger any problems and it's been like a day since i installed them including a shutdown and restart. This problem started the moment i pressed the light button on the K70 to turn off the lights and then the keyboard started to throw it's fit. Oh and the keyboard is 13 months old and is kept in good condition with no physical damage at all. Having said all that does anybody have any clues as to how to fix this problem and if it's fixable at all? If not then i'll probably have to see if i can get this replaced or something. In the worst case i may have to get a new keyboard which i really don't want to since i did a bit of looking around and Corsair doesn't produce any cherry MX blue keyboards with blue backlights and the RGB ones don't come in blues and they have no intention on making any. ================================================ So should the worst come that i need to get a new keyboard i'm stuck with a dilemma with what new keyboard to get. I'm currently thinking in the worst case that i do need to get a new keyboard to get another K70 with MX blues but deal with the red backlight (which will look off with the whole blue theme i have set up for my system) or I could get a K70/95 RGB with MX Brown switches and make a compromise with the switch type. I haven't actually used a keyboard with brown switches yet so it might be an interesting time to try one out however at the same time if i don't like the browns then i'm stuck with it. So far however i have enjoyed my experience with the blues but from what i've read, blues and browns are pretty much the same minus the click which in my opinion i like hearing though i will admit the reset of the family doesn't haha. Anyways this post basically is 2 questions: How to fix my problem with my current K70 and should it not be fixable or replaceable, which keyboard should i get and compromise in which area? Compromising backlighting or compromising in keyswitch type to one that i may or may not like? Reading that question kind of makes it seem kind of a silly question...but i guess i'm OCD about keeping looks uniform and consistent even if they are irrelevant to most.

So I have been a standard Dell membrane keyboard user and gamer for over 15 years. Most of my gaming has been FPS (All iterations of CounterSrike, DOOM, Duke Nukem, etc) but I have done my share of MMORPG (Runescape, WoW) and a small bit of MOBA games (original warcraft/starcraft). I just recently took the plunge and purchased a Corsair K70 with Cherry MX Browns from NewEgg. I battled with myself internally for a LONG time trying to decide which switches to purchase and what keyboard would bring me the most "value." My initial thoughts were to go with the MX Reds but after I started (literally) poking around on my keyboard trying to quantify what I thought a linear, light switch would feel like, I came to the conclusion that 45 cN and no initial "bump" would just be far too light for what I am used to. The next logical progression was between MX Blacks (60 cN Linear) and MX Browns (~45 cN Tactile, non-clicky). Again, I felt like the 45 cN would feel just about right if there was an initial "bump" to get past and I had heard from some users of the Blacks/Greens that 60 cN was pretty stiff on some of the outside finger keys (reaching with the pinky). I knew that I didn't want the MX Blues for a few reasons. Reason absolute number 1 was the noise! I have heard streamers use their MX Blue keyboard on stream and it just seemed ungodly loud. This has no scientific basis, but it was definitely an observation I had made. The second reason was the hysteresis in the activation location. I (try to) feather the activation point in my keyboard when playing CS:GO and if the point where the key activates is different than when it de-activates, I felt that would really mess with my re-learning curve of movement. I also went back and forth on a 10keyless vs mini vs standard key setup board. The idea of a 10keyless seemed really cool at first, but when I sat down at my standard keyboard and imagined it being 3" narrower, it just seemed really cramped, so I went with a standard 104 key setup. Onto my impressions of not only the Corsair K70 but the MX Browns themselves: - The K70 is a solid keyboard. It feels extremely well built and has multiple tilt and height adjustments to fit everyone's desired feel. The elevation feet can be arranged in multiple ways and the wrist support is actually really comfortable and well designed. I had not used a wrist support before and am really happy with it. Lots of great extra functionality built into the board. All the media buttons, LED configs and brightness, volume, and the size is still reasonable. - The keys on the MX Brown seem really tall compared to a normal membrane style keyboard. There is a rather large gap between the tops of the keys in the middle row and the tops of the keys in the rows above and below. It definitely took some getting used to at first, but a few minutes and a quick online typing test gets you pretty acquainted with the heights and feels of the switches. - The MX Brown keys are NOT silent by any means! Which just reinforces my decision to stay away from the Blues, because if they are significantly louder than the Browns, I would be going insane. - The initial "bump" is hard to actually feel IMO. There is surely some initial resistance, but comparing what the switch SHOULD feel like when looking at the little .gif of the switch and what it actually feels like, the "bump" seems a little vague. This also reinforces my decision to stay away from the linear switches as if I thought this felt vague, I cant imagine how the super-light MX Reds would feel like. I will add to this if more stuff comes to mind, but please feel free to ask me any questions about the board. I know a lot of users are currently debating a mechanical keyboard and which switch to go with, so any information that I can provide can only help! -D

I'm looking to buy a mechanical keyboard. Right now I'm torn between the Corsair K70 RGB Brown and the Razer Blackwidow Stealth but if there is a better or comparable keyboard please let me know. I read that the Razer branded switches are just nock offs of the Cherry MX switches. What's your thoughts, if possible please give me an unbiased/non-fanboy opinion on which one you would buy. Thank you.

I am currently looking for a RGB keyboard that allows for macros, single key LED control, I don't want a tenkeyless and lastly It doesn't have to be mechanical. I have been looking at either a K70 or K95 from Corsair. I have never owned a mechanical keyboard and am leaning towards brown switches but might be open to other options(If there are even other options).

Hi, so I got my first mechanical keyboard over the weekend (glad to finally be apart of this prestigious club) and I'm loving it but I noticed on some of the keys there is a "ping" noise coming form the spring inside the switch. It isn't particularly loud but when I do notice it it is rather annoying. I turned to Google for help and turns out it's a pretty common problem, mainly with Filco boards, and I saw a few people mention that it's only a problem the first couple of days of use because it's a new keyboard/switches and you just need to give them time to "break in"? If anyone else with this issue tell me if this is true and if it will go away, because like I said it's not an urgent issue it's just a bit annoying. Oh and my keyboard is the Corsair K70 (non RGB) Cherry MX Blue version. Thanks, Paul

I had this keyboard for about 2 months now and just 4 days ago I updated CUE and then I noticed one of the LED's looked a bit dim so I messed around with brightness settings in CUE, and then I changed the colour to White but the LED was lighting up Red So, I contacted Corsair support and they told me to try clearing old profiles for the keyboard by deleting "C:\Users\"System name"\AppData\Roaming\Corsair" folder but after that failed to work I just decided to tap on the key REAL hard and it actually fixed it. My only guess is the switch wasn't making proper contact with the board. Just putting this thread out there for anyone who may encounter this issue.

Hi I'm interested in a Corsair K70 RGB with brown switches with the old logo. The problem I have not been able to find this specific model on amazon.co.uk or even newegg. Could someone link me a webshop in Europe that has this specific model of keyboard? Thx

Or any keyboard around 170 for that matter. I've wanted the K70 RGB but I've repeatedly heard that they software sucks and lights don't work etc. However, i'm hesitant on the Das pro 4 because it doesn't have backlighting. Not going to get ducky because they are always out of stock.

I just bought a brand new corsair K70 RGB and downloaded the software. The problem is that the rgb freezes colors like that it isnt responding then it will not change my rgb profile. My computer displays that "Power Surge On Hub Port A USB device has exceeded the power limits.." yada yada yada... It is about to make me return the keyboard.. I have both USB's plugged into my MOBO "Asus Z97-A USB 3.0 ports. Any suggestions?

My corsair k70 RGB keyboard lighting freezes every time i open steam or origin and sometimes freezes to nothing at all. It is a known issue to a lot of people out there with the same problem but is it a software problem that can be solved on an update or is it a faulty keyboard that i should RMA?

Hey, I'm new here (don't even know if this is where i should be posting this) and I've been looking into getting a mechanical keyboard because right now I'm using a Razer Deathstalker Ultimate, and I've had it pretty much since it was released and its decent but its showing signs of wearing down and I didn't really know anything about keyboards when I bought it (I pretty much just bought it for the Switchblade UI, which is next to useless), so I think its about time to upgrade to a mechanical one. I've did a bunch of research and I've settled on either the Corsair K70 RGB or the Ducky Shine 4, and I'm leaning towards the K70 not just because of the lighting effects, but because of the way it looks, the aluminum backplate, the included wristrest, and the media keys with the volume roller, but the problem is I've decided on Cherry MX Browns and i can't find a K70 RGB with browns anywhere they're out of stock on Amazon, and I can't find them anywhere else. So I've got a couple questions: First: Is the K70 RGB with Cherry MX Browns just out of stock right now, and if so how soon do you think it'll take to get them back in stock, or are they just not making the version with browns anymore? Second: What are your thoughts on the Shine 4 vs K70 RGB, which feels better, what advantages does the Shine 4 have over the K70 RGB? Third: What will the transition be like from a membrane keyboard to a keyboard with Cherry MX Browns, like will it take time to get used to them and how different do they feel? Well thats about it, so thanks in advance for any replies. -Alex

A quick question for K70 owners Has anyone had a LED failure on the new K70 RGB? I heard it was common with the old k70 rgb. I'm looking into buying my first mechanical keyboard and the K70 looks great. Are you guys happy with the k70 or should I go for something different like a steelseries? (I'm not getting razer chroma)

Hi, I ordered my Corsair K70 RGB with Blue Switches in late September after waiting a year for them to be released. Upon recieving the keyboard (which was my first mechanical), I was extremely happy with the quality. However, as you may know, the K70's with the blue switches have some issues with mushiness over time, so much so that Corsair has discontinued them. I am currently seeking for a new replacement for this keyboard as my keys have become hard to press. Would anyone have any recommendations to a replacement? I like lights and flashy features of keyboards. Thank you!

Just a friendly poll. K70 vs Strafe. By K70 I mean non-rgb.
-
Hey guys, I just received my K70 RGB Brown Switches yesterday and I had some time to play around with it. I noticed that my Left Shift key seems a bit weaker and wobbly compared to all other switches. All other switches seem solid when pressed and makes a "thud" noise when clicked but Left Shift key makes a spring-y noise and seems not as solid as other keys. I tried switching the Left Shift key and the Right Shift Key (Right Shift Key is solid and good!), and the Right Shift Key becomes wobbly and weak. So I assume that it's not the key cap but rather the 2 support of the MX switches are weak(?). Unless I'm crazy and being overly sensitive, does anyone else have this issue? I'm thinking of RMA-ing but Corsair told me it will take 2-3 weeks..

Basically what the title says. I didn't want to go with Rosewill, Das, etc. so I wanted to pick a mechanical keyboard from these two. Only problem is that they're both amazing.

Basically what the title says. I want to get a mechanical keyboard with nice software (main reason that I didn't go with Das, Rosewill, etc.). I'm down to the K70 and the Blackwidow, but I just find it hard to pick one over the other. Thanks.

Hello all, I have a Corsair K70 with mx blue switches and the very left hand side keys stopped working (esc, squiggly line thing, tab, caps lock, left shift, and left control) and I have reinstalled the driver and even have tried it on my macbook pro with no luck. The switches themselves appear to be clean but when pressed they seem to make a different sound than all the other keys, and the led's still work perfectly fine. Just wondering if anyone has this issue or do I need to replace the switches or what the case might be. Thanks in advance!

Corsair Vengeance K70: Fair purchase price? Ever go on sale?
metahelix posted a topic in Peripherals
Hi, After doing extensive research, I've decided I want to buy the following keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 Cherry MX Brown Switches Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard http://www.ncix.com/detail/corsair-vengeance-k70-cherry-mx-cb-94946.htm Questions (1) Is $149.99 CAD (+ HST) a fair purchase price? => Lowest price is at NCIX => Note: Don't care about the Sail vs tramp stamp gaming logo (2) Has anyone ever seen this keyboard go on sale? => I haven't in the past 4 months (3) Is there any new product coming down the pipeline from Corsair that would cause this keyboard's price to drop in the next month? (4) Should I shell out the extra ~ $50 bucks for the RGB version? => Don't need the RGB lighting capability => But the RGB LED lights appear to be more reliable (e.g. don't burn out) Any feedback / advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance. -
Yesterday I got my new K70 RGB keyboard and the Corsair Utility Engine was really buggy and I were not able to access the profiles so I force closed it and unplugged my K70. After that it worked and I added the EMP and MOBO/FPS profiles from here. Now everytime I boot up my computer it chooses to use the MOBO as default even though I chose to use the EMP as default. But that's just one of the small problems. After about 5-20 mins in after the boot up the lighting freezes and sometimes even chooses to change to the standard red color and I'm not able to change the brightness or do anything with the lighting and again I'm not able to access the profiles before I unplugg the whole thing

Im buying one in 12 hrs! Please help which one to pick! Im leaning towards the K70 RGB because: -The effects that you can do with it. -The build quality. (Metal) -Dedicated media keys + the volume wheel -Its a Cherry MX. -Amazing wrist rest. -New LED mounting (I have a K95 its a nice keyboard but i already have 8 dead leds on it. around 2months it had 8dead leds already.) Razer Blackwidow Chroma: -I have a razer mouse + headphone. if i get this it will make my rig all match. -The simplicity of the razer. -The macro keys -Brighter LEDS -Easy to program -Im kind of scared buying this because of the way the LEDs are mounted like in the K95 i have. -It NOT cherry MX. its china made switches Please notify me of any news of dead leds on both I need to know its killing me (Iv only seen dead leds on k70 rgb but it was firmware updates but was fixed cause of that) Here in the Philippines both K70 RGB and BW Chroma has the exactly the same price(7950php). (Around $185)
