So, I'm gonna buy a 212 EVO for my 4690K, but I'm buying it at a local store, and the best thermal paste they have is a Thermaltake TG-4. Does anybody know this paste? Is it any good? Or should I go with a better one...something from Noctua maybe...? Thanks

I'm building this for a friend, the budget is a max of £600 but it would be good if you could help me to get the cost even lower if we can. What do you think? So like title says I can't find find Shadowmere anywhere. I also do not remember where the soul cairn is exactly but I checked the Vampire castle and shadowmere wasn't there. I'll go look more later if it helps. Side note: Lydia is also gone, but she's been gone for like 1-2 weeks or something so perhaps she's gone forever with all my beginner to intermediate items. Does the spawn/place.at command make them go back to their place like Lydia goes back to Dragonsreach if I don't choose to have her as a follower? Since she's been gone for so long the items doesn't matter much for me anymore, but I would like to have her and Shadowmere back .. Mostly because of sentimentality. Edit: I just remembered a where I could look for Shadowmere.

With the incoming release of Windows 10 and DirectX 12 we've seen some of the crazy (yet amazing) changes DirectX 12 will bring for Gaming Enthusiasts One of the biggest and best changes (in my opinion) is not just that you can cross platform your GPUs from nVidia and AMD but no longer will you have your cards VRAM removed when you go SLI or Crossfire. So in previous generations, if you had 2 780's, which are 3gb's Each, instead of the VRAM adding up to 6gb's you only had the first cards 3gb's. Now with DX12, the 2nd graphics cars is "Bound together" with the original, allowing your computer to act like they are one being, like the first card is a symbiotic entity of some kind. So for those who struggle "wit da mathz", having 2 x 780's would then give you 6gb's of VRAM! So what does this mean for the future of graphics cards? Well, with 4k Screens becoming cheaper by the day (As we are so often told by our reviewing overlords) and the fact they basically need 4gb of VRAM to even attempt running these resolutions at a decent standard we could now see users going overhaul on cheaper graphics cards to run 4k AAA Title games. Not only this, but if I read this correctly, if you had a 970 and its 3.5 DEDICATED VRAM ( I caps'ed dedicated because you know why) and a 960, in theory, the 2gb of VRAM from the 590 should apply to the 970, giving it 5.5gb of VRAM. What are your opinions on this change? Are you also drooling from the face hole? One thing to note though, like many games, it is up to developers to allow these multi-gpu combinations to be utilized. Many games still either have trouble or don't properly use SLI/Crossfire properly be it through choice or what not, so will they be allowing this to be used in their games? We can only hope. I'd love to hear what you've hear or please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. But this all sounds rather tickety boo if you ask me. I'm getting ready to upgrade to Windows 10, so I'd like to get an SSD. I will only use the drive for the OS, nothing else, so I only really need what, 80gb? What would you guys suggest?

As stated I am having some friggin' nasty issues concerning BIOS registering all of the installed ram I have. Board is an Asus P8H77-M Pro/CG8270 (OEM) that I picked up off of craigslist as a result of the same issue in an Asus P8Z77-V LX after installing a shiny, new replacement i5 3470 from Intel. After initial installation into the P8H77, it ran and operated fine, showing all 16GB of ram. Something compelled me to reset BIOS to "optimized defaults", and that's when all hell broke loose: BIOS acts like everything is fine but only registers 8gb of the 16gb installed (4x4gb matched Corsair Vengeance Pro). The insane part is that when you go into menu to see what's what in the DIMM slots, it shows everything perfectly. I've tried all kinds of variations of different sticks populating different slots, I even tried some other sticks from an extra kit. Bottom line is that it seems to refuse to register more than two sticks at a time, regardless of the slots used. Since the board I'm using now is an OEM, I don't have jack in the options department for BIOS, especially when it comes to trying to play around with memory settings (timing, voltage, etc.) and I don't have access to my original P8Z77 after giving it away as bad (seems like a terrible move on my part at this point...) Only conclusion I can come up with is that it's something with the processor, as I've noticed onboard video didn't work in both boards. But it doesn't make sense after I received a new, sealed retail package from Intel on a chip that had an issue with cache operation. Regardless, congratulations on being just as confused as I and three other friends are on the matter. Any opinions on this are very welcome. Yes, I've reset CMOS, you buzzard...

Hi, I have in my daily driver Laptop a 240gb OCZ vertex 3. It has about 11,000 operating hours and just under 19 TB of life time writes. The drive is perfectly healthy according to smart. Hearing that ssd's can die rather unexpectedly, when should i replace this ssd? I would prefer not to have any down time on my daily use laptop. Its much faster just to clone an ssd than to download off the home server remotely, Im at uni.

So it finally might be happening... Lets all say it together! See ya FX and let's hopefully say Hello to the i7! My main concern is sense this is a locked cpu, is this going to be a issue when playing games (Due to clock speed) or is it possible to overclock to increase performance (If Needed)? Would this upgrade also be worth doing? Let me know what you guys think! PCPartPicker : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/X3YJQ7 Thank you.

So it'd cost me about $80 to upgrade my current 3ds xl to the new 3ds xl by selling my current one and getting this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/174627 during the holiday season. The upgrade is definitely worth it to most, but I was just wondering if the amiibo feature was good to anyone apart from looking great on your shelf. Thx

This is a stupid question that I'm fairly certain I'm able to do. So I have 8gb of memory in my system right now and I want to add another 8gb so that I have 16gb all together. To do this, do I have to buy the same memory that I already have in the system? And when I do install it, do I have to reset anything on the mobo in order to get no errors. Again, it's a pretty stupid question that I think I am able to do - but just checking as I don't want to be too confident and waste my money. -Thanks!

Hello, I recently purchased a NZXT Kraken G10 as it was on sale on black Friday and i had an extra liquid cooler to use on my gpu. I have a gigabyte 780ti GHZ edition and it seems to run around 75-80*c when under load(stock windforce cooler) before I went on with installing it I'm just checking to see if the fan will be enough for the vrm and vram cooling. I asked the nice man at micro center and he said it would be ok, but with all of the negative reviews on vrm cooling and the fact that this card is overvolted stock with dual 8pin pci-e connectors, I'm just making sure before i put my $700 gpu on the line. Please leave suggestions on vrm heat sinks if i need any and also can i get a suggestion on thermal paste. Thanks, ZachtheMan btw this gpu uses Japanese capacitors if that matters

So, I recently built my first computer, and it runs beautifully. Except for one problem. Whenever I attach the side panel on the case (The one with all my beautiful wiring), the entire computer shuts off. It runs perfectly without the side panel, however the second I attach it "BOOOOM!". Everything shuts off. I really don;t know why it does this, and any help here would be appreciated. I can take photos/videos of it happening if people want to see, etc. My build is as follows: PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Fst7yc Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Fst7yc/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor (Purchased For $45.00) GPU: XFX Double D FX797ATDJC Radeon HD 7970 3GB (Purchased For $105.00)Motherboard: MSI Z87M GAMING Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (Purchased For $110.00) Memory: Corsair XMS 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For $50.00) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For $85.00) Case: Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For $120.00) Power Supply: Corsair Professional Gold 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $75.00) Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27.0" Monitor (Purchased For $460.00) Case Fan: Noctua NF-P14 FLX 65.0 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For $10.00) Case Fan: Noctua NF-P14 FLX 65.0 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For $10.00) Total: $1070.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-11-06 00:08 EST-0500

So I just downloaded the evaluation copy of WIndows 10 and I love it! I just thought I'd let anyone know who's deciding weather or not to try it that it's really good. The user interface is so good, and it's not annoying to use like WIndows 8.1 was. I was also still able to update my graphics driver despite the new OS, and I'm pretty sure other programs will work for it too. I just selected Windows 7 64 bit for the options. Overall Windows 10 is great! You have the start menu back and you can select the apps you want to appear beside it. All of your music can be played using the Windows Xbox music app which is actually quite cool to use. The whole OS appears really clean and works well despite it being an early copy. I got to keep all my files and the installation went perfectly. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask!

Hello ! I'm looking forward to buy a new case, since mine is now 6years old : 3D Aurora 570... and i'm asking this question to myself : WICH ONE ? There is a lot of good looking case but i can't decide ! First i wanted to try the Zelman Z11 Plus but quit a lot of ppl told me that it wasn't that good.. so i was hoping for a NZXT Phantom Series but they are really overpriced and the " more affordable " looks really cheap. So ? What do you guys think ? Also i have an Corsair H80I (AIO WaterCooling) to fit in that case and i'm not feeling like spending 100$ in a case. Thanks for reading, have a nice day

Source From the PCPer.com article "During an interview that we streamed live with NVIDIA's Tom Petersen this past Thursday, it was confirmed that NVIDIA is not currently working on, or has any current plans to, add support for the VESA-based and AMD-pushed Adaptive Sync portion of the DisplayPort 1.2a specification. To quote directly: There is no truth [to that rumor of NVIDIA Adaptive Sync support] and we have made no official comments about Adaptive Sync. One thing I can say is that NVIDIA as a company is 100% dedicated to G-Sync. We are going to continue to invest in G-Sync and it is a way we can make the gaming experience better. We have no need for Adaptive Sync. We have no intention of [implementing it]." Discussion of G-Sync begins at 1:27:14 in our interview. To be clear, the Adaptive Sync part of DP 1.2a and 1.3+ are optional portions of the VESA spec that is not required for future graphics processors or even future display scalar chips. That means that upcoming graphics cards from NVIDIA could still be DisplayPort 1.3 compliant without implementing support for the Adaptive Sync feature. Based on the comments above, I fully expect that to be the case." There were some rumors that Nvidia had planned on actively supporting this technology, but the man himself has spoken. Interesting to see how this pans out for the industry. Thoughts?

So my phone died on the way home from the movies, after 3 hours on the charger and multiple attempts to get it to turn on, it wont. I declared it dead and ordered the Moto G. But I have a few questions, are they any good custom ROM's I can install to give the phone a better feel to it? Or anything for that matter to maybe make the phone a little more snappy and use less ram for the OS.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIe1EDExxyg#t=524 I'm just going to put this here. A very, interesting take on a popular yet confusing science topic, as told by the one uh, thing, in the universe who knows more then she should. But it feels so good to be evil.

When I saw the alpha footage, it was amazing. I laughed my ass off because of that video. I wanted it to become a real thing. Now that it's out... all I can say is "meh". It's one of those games where all I can do is one thing and one thing only - to wreck stuff. It's like an overplayed joke that gets lamer and lamer everytime it's told. Maybe Steam Workshop will save its (soon-to-be) fading success? Great idea though... like challenges and whatnot. Thoughts? Is it worth your 10 dollars? Edit: To be fair, we were warned by the developers that it's better to spend our $10 to something else, like a pile of bricks. lol.
