I am not sure if this is the right subforum to post this, but here we go. I have a potato laptop with a Pentium N3710 processor, 4GB RAM, and Intel HD Graphics 405. It has been 3.5 years since I use it as my daily driver. Even in 2023, I am still not able to use Windows 10 on this, because of a bug from the Intel HD Graphics driver. When I install the driver on Windows 10 (No matter if it’s the OEM-provided one or the latest one downloaded from Intel’s website) and use a program that uses hardware acceleration, the screen blacks out. Especially if you are using Zoom, and someone shares their screen, the black screen will come in most cases. Although it is possible to disable hardware acceleration from the zoom settings, and so for Microsoft Office and Edge/chrome, that is barely a workaround. Even if I don’t use the hardware acceleration in these programs, I absolutely have to use it in the VLC media player, otherwise, the video will stutter for sure. The same problem never happens with Windows 7 or 8.1. A quick Google search shows fixes like using your secondary NVIDIA GPU for hardware acceleration, but I don’t have a secondary GPU. A lot of folks have been able to fix it by using OEM drivers or tweaking random settings from the HD graphics control panel, but I am sure it was kind of a placebo thing for them, and the problem is not actually fixed. The black screen issue does not happen all the time, I used Windows 10 1809 for six months until this issue reappeared, and this issue is more common on newer Windows versions. But the issue eventually does appear. My processor has reached the end of its service lifetime, I cannot really expect a fix from Intel now even though I am facing this issue since 2019 I think, but I do not know if I will ever buy a laptop with Intel integrated graphics anymore. That was a big rant, but does anyone know a solution to this? I have already lost hope regarding this issue and using Windows 8.1, but I would like to get rid of outdated software and upgrade to Windows 10.

So I recently bought a victus 16, specced with RTX 3060, i5 11th gen. Generally on my 2060 laptop I used to get around 120 FPS, but on this one after like gaming for 2 minutes the FPS goes from 150 to under 70. The temps are well within range (60 celsius), fan is on full as well. This happens not only on valorant but also on League, witcher etc. But putting it to furmark the FPS is a constant 106 at 82 celsius. This whole thing makes no sense, I changed power ports, fresh windows, reinstall the games, tweaked with the Nvidia software. Nothing helps. A 3060 pulling less than 80 on League of Legends on low is laughable.

Hello everyone. I've looked at this page which is "A Brief Guide to [Intels] Latest Processor and Naming Updates". I didn't get it within 10 minutes of reading it. Can someone please summarize what is important to look for? Information I'm looking for: What are the most modern nodes Intel is using in mobile CPUs currently? What are the processors with this technology actually called? (like actual names. Like 7840U or the... 13 idk 60P ?) What in these naming conventions do I actually have to be mindful of? (like 12th Intel no Us or no 7020s with AMD) Any further notes about what you feel is important to know about the current intel offerings? Thanks for your help! - J Edit: Oh, and it would also be nice to know which of the CPUs you named are actually gonna be used in Laptops. Because some SKUs just seem to only exist as numbers.

So im looking at different cpu mobo combos, im thinking about upgrading my GFs rig, she currently has an 8700k at 4.8ghz - Me myself i have an 13600kf and its great, but with the release of intels 14gen i was looking at maybe getting her a 14600k, but reviewing benchmarks they seem to performe the same? Anyways, what would you upgrade to? She mainly plays CS2 and PUBG, im thinking the ram and gpu can stay, its a 4x8gb 3200kit and the gpu is a rtx 2060 13600kf where i live costs around 300$ (mobo about 150$) 14600k cost about 400$ (same mobo, 150$) 5800x3d 440$ (mobo around 150-200$)

I have a ryzen 5600X right know and a RTX 3070. In the futur, I want to upgrade my pc to a Ryzen 8000 CPU + RTX 5070 (Zen 5 aka granite ridge). 99.99999999% chance that the new cpu from AMD wil have NPU, because right now the ryzen 8000G series (zen 4) have NPU. The question is do you think NPU will be a gimmic? for now most app are not ready for this, I think they wait for Windows 12 because Microsoft said that the next generation of windows will be focus of AI.

Hey should I just gamble and just buy a replacement CPU already? Around November 2023 i updated my windows 11 gaming computer to the latest windows feature update (and updated some drivers) and when it restarted it blue screened and has been ill ever since. Every time i turn on the computer (and enter any OS) it will completely freeze up within 1-3 minutes. It just freezes what's on screen, the caps-lock button does nothing, and it refuses to do anything until forced off. It crashes in windows 11 pro, when installing windows on a fresh ssd (with no other drives connected), when initialising WindowsToGo (thanks to Rufus), and in ubuntu installer. What baffles me is that it doesn't crash in windows safe mode. If it's my CPU that's faulty does it behave so differently in safe mode as to not be symptomatic there? It does not blue screen, and no logs are created from the crash as far as i can tell. I can open windows reliability monitor in recovery mode and no logs are present for the time stamp the computer froze up at. The 2 pieces of hardware that i haven't been able to test are the PSU and CPU. Does my problem sound like either of them are to blame? I have attempted: MB Replacing with different model of MB (MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI) - now returned Updating BIOS to the latest one Resetting BIOS to default values Various BIOS changes (like undoing the RAM XMP profile) Storage Different M.2 drive M.2 in USB enclose Various USB drives (with various different Windows and Ubuntu installers of various vintages) Putting the various storage devices in different slots Ran SSD tester from BIOS without any errors found RAM Using each stick individually by themself Each stick in different slots in 2 separate MBs They passed the windows RAM tester They passed several hours of MemTest86 without any errors Windows Not connecting Razer devices (Huntsmen and basilisk) Removing most recent drivers GPU Problem does not change with the GPU installed or not The computer was constructed from new parts during February 2023. PC Specs: Intel Core i5-13600K 3.5 GHz (has onboard graphics) MSI PRO Z790-A WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL40 Memory (the versions that plays nice with intel XMP) Crucial P5 Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (Main boot drive) Sabrent Rocket 512 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (Secondary drive to help debug) Corsair RM750x (2021) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case MSI 3060TI 3X 8G OC LHR A bunch of Noctua fans Additional information: Sometimes when getting into recovery options it kinda crashes and pressing any valid button just refreshes screen with bad screen tearing I have dismantled and reassembled everything on 4 separate occasions, there are no loose cables and the cpu does not have any pins to inspect I've also tried disabling network adapters from the BIOS amongst other BIOS changes The BIOS environment is stable I spoke to a computer technician at a shop and he was baffled by the problem i had, he recommended trying another compatible CPU (intel 12/13/14) and posting for help on this forum Have tried booting with only display connected Not possible: It does not appear to be possible to reset windows from recovery Or repair windows from recovery Or roll back windows updates Not tried: Replacing current 13600K CPU Replacing the power supply Throwing computer out of window Does anyone have any idea what my problem is? I just want my computer fixed so i can continue playing BG3 with my friend. Do i just buy a new CPU and test that, and return it if it doesn’t fix my problem. I’m fed up of the number of hours I’ve spent trying to fix it without results. Thanks in advanced for your help Cheers.

Hi, as the title states I'm looking for the files to do a bmc update on an old intel s2600cp board. I'm unsure whether it's a cp2 or cp4. Unfortunately it's discontinued by intel and they've only put the BIOS update files on their website. If anyone has them or know where to get them it'd be greatly appreciated. By the by, the reason for me needing the update is that since one of the CPU's are faulty and I've taken it out, the fans are stuck on max speed at all times and I need that fixed, so if ya'll have any other way of fixing that issue I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

I was looking into possibly updating my Bios in preparation for a new CPU I purchased for my system (i9 9900K), when I discovered that I was having very severe input stutters with both mouse and keyboard. Keyboard is wired and mouse is wireless but both are stuttering. I reset the bios settings to default to make sure it wasn't anything wrong with the base overclock, and while the stutters were better they were still present in the Bios. I've attached a preview of the settings that were changed with the reset and a 30 second video that shows the issue I am still running into. I am at a loss for what the issue could be and especially concerned if its a hardware issue considering I have a new processor on the way. Any help would be appreciated. I do not have this issue when booted into Windows. IMG_5436.MP4

Hello friends and welcome to this year's first PC mod/build. "Green Prime" is started. It is a modification of the Asus AP201 case with a glass side. In addition to the idea of filling this little one with strong hardware and cooling, the idea is that instead of the current horizontal position of this case, I will make changes so that it stands vertically and give everything my own style and design. Thank you for following my work again, stay tuned! I'm setting up a real chill PC for my just to browse the web an such. I used spare components such as an old ASUS Z-170A I had laying around but when i tried to use a spare Intel i5 6600k i had in that MoBo setup it had a bent corner and wasn't booting up turning rhe MemOK redlight ON (ps. ram sticks are totally fine). I bought this Pentium CPU to use instead. It seems to start up just fine, no error lights in the board, but the screen never shows any menu. I've read that having used the motherboard with a GPU in the past could be making weird things with it.

My CPU would hit 100c under load, I've tried everything from re-applying T-paste to RMA the chip and nothing. The only solution I found is going into the BIOS and turning OFF MCE, Turbo Boost and Intel speed shift. Just sits at a solid 3.7ghz- That's no fun right? But it was my only solution to "tame" this CPU and keep temps normal. Well after 3 years (wow time fly's), I just want to get more outta this processor. Hell, even 4.7ghz id be happy. So, here are my specs (2020 top-tier build lol)- Intel Core i9 10900kf Gigabyte z490 Aorus Pro AX ddr4-3200 64gb Nvidia rtx3080 Corsair h100i cooler I inserted my CPU-Z report file below PEREZ-PC.txt I went back into my BIOS and enabled Turbo boost and speed shift EXCEPT MCE, put my multipliers at 41x- And its been fine. Highest temp I got was mmm 90c running Cinebench, which is still high but at least not 100c. While gaming I got 75c-78c, I was ok with that. What core voltage can you suggest I use in Intel XTU other than using the multipliers? What offset voltage? Should I have my Core ICCMax set to 255.75a? What about my Turbo boost power max set to unlimited? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Need help "optimizing" my 10900kf chip, this bihhh runs HOT, Under load i was hittin' 100c! I got this sucker back in 2020 and I pretty much gave up- so..... what I did to resolve my issue was went into my BIOS shut off MCE, Turbo boost, speed shift and set my ram to 2133ghz according to Intel customer support. Yes I RMA'd my original CPU, still didn't resolve my issue. Until what I mentioned above about shutting off these features in BIOS. So I just rolled with 3.7ghz for almost 3 years. But I need more out of this Intel, without the 100c temperatures of course! Right now I set my multipliers to 45x and its ok, but when I hit a benchmark those temps are concerning What is this?!?! Now, here are my settings in XTU Help me guys please. I just want normal temps under load so i can sleep good at night. Here's my CPU-Z txt file to see my PC specs PEREZ-PC.txt

I got a new laptop from company Dell Precision 3581 with I7-13700H. My work needs powerful machines I was hopeful that this will solve my problems. However when I tested this system I can see when I am putting system under stress it is not giving me 100%. That is the CPU utilization is capped at 74% and frequency never goes above 2.16GHz. I tried to update the power options and everything in windows that I know but to no help. Can anyone suggest the cause of it and maybe help me solve this issue. Thanks.

As the title suggests, my phones USB-C cable works perfectly fine with the controller, no batteries are in the controller too they are still brand new in the box. But my question is is there any downsides to just using my phones USB-C cable ? as soon as i connected it it worked perfectly fine with no issues, i heard people saying there is a difference between charging and data USB-C Cables but if it's a charging cable will it even work in the first place ?

Scroll down for the updated posts I was looking to upgrade my Acer Aspire TC 780 just so I can have some stable performance in games and also be able to take advantage of a more powerful graphics card in the future. Since that my motherboard is limited as far as cpu compatibility and other stuff, that would mean I would only have two choices if I wanted to upgrade my cpu, the i7-6700($205 used) and the i7-7700($250 used)(according to my research). Yea those prices are crazy high and makes buying new look like a better option. So with prices of the Ryzen 2000 series being very cheap and with some special sales from Micro Center, I felt that it would be a good time to do this upgrade. Prices at the time of purchase: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x: $114.99 Gigabyte B450 Aorus M: $64.99 (when bundled with processor) GEIL Evo Potenza (16GB 2x8) DDR4 at 3000Mhz $49.99 New Parts, I did not buy the corsair ML120 fans from Micro Center. (the camera would not focus right)Here are my old 92mm case fans, they did the job for the old setup with the Intel core i5 7400 but were not good enough for the Ryzen 2600x. In this Acer Aspire TC case the cable management is not the best but it is good enough for me, a modular PSU would be better(maybe in the future), but for now I just have the rest of the cables stuffed in the one of the top drive bays. Yes, that is a funnel on the cpu fan and the AMD shroud at the end of the funnel, this made the cpu run 3-4 degrees cooler because it was getting more fresh air from the vent on the side panel and also the filter grill was added a long awhile ago with the old setup. The core i5 7400 paired with my GTX 970 worked fine, but I wanted more and the OEM Acer motherboard with the Intel 6th and 7th gen market was the limiting factor. This may look like junk to some people, but I use what I got and what I can get.

Budget (including currency): >$1500 AUD Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Audition, Wondershare Filmora, Python, Fortnite (maybe), Minecraft and other basic programs i.e. adobe acrobat and . Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey, This is me (and my dads) first ever build. Its a MicroATX build without graphics card, only IGPU (for now, not required). Got a strong CPU so it can last a while. Not focused on RGB although it would be nice if convenient. Hi community, i hope you all have a nice holiday. As you know christmas is family IT support time. Because of this i now got an old Fujitsu Lifebook S760. It was replaced by a new notebook and now i can play with the old one. At first i wanted to reinstall the system at time of release (Windows 7 Pro). My goal is to have a working retro pc for some old software. Everything works fine. Except: The device's speakers are not working. I installed every driver from the Fujitsu support page specifically filtered for my device's serial number. The Realtek High Definition Audio Driver also shows up in the installed progams list. For unknown reasons the audio only works when I connect the notebook over HDMI with a monitor with built-in speakers. Then everything is fine. How can i get the internal notebook speakers to work? Specs: Fujitsu Lifebook S760 Windows 7 Professional, 64 Bit Realtek High Definition Audio Driver ALC269, Version 6.0.1.5911 (08/17/2009) (installed and visible in all-programs-list) Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD, Version 8.15.10.2025 (12/18/2009) In the attachments you can find screenshots. It is a system localized for german language. Have a nice holiday bananaMochi

Budget: No budget, just need help deciding on CPU Games, programs or workloads it will be used for: ok, long story short, I will use the PC, 95% of the time, for productivity and work. The main programs used are: Photoshop (working with effects, large files, several files at once, and multiple layers for each file) Illustrator Premiere Pro (working with 4K clips in the timeline, then export to FullHD for social media. Nothing crazy here effects/editing-wise) After Effects (working with both 4k and full HD size canvas and projects. Mix of simple and complex animations) Sometimes 2 of these applications are running at the same time, each one doing its own stuff. Current situation: My current setup (cpu) is made of a ryzen 7 3700x, 32gb ddr4 ram, X570 I Aorus PRO wifi mobo, gigabyte 3070, and everything inside a CM NR200P. I'm looking for an upgrade of just the cpu with ram and mobo related obv (don't want to keep the AM4 socket) and my thoughts are on these 2 cpus: Brand new i5-14600k (i know it's the same as the 13600k, but the price is almost the same, so why not pick the newest gen?) Slightly used Ryzen 9 7900x They will have the same price as the 7900x is slightly used and the performance are similar. Which one you gonna pick? Other details: The 14600k has both P-Cores and E-Cores and looking around for tests, they will help a lot with the Adobe Suite and the programs i'm gonna use it for...on the other hand the 7900x is a beast and beats the intel in multi-core performance (synthetic benchmarks). My necessities are scrubbing through the timeline on Premiere and AE without too much lag or buffer time and working in ps with ease. Export time are also important, as fast as possible because time is money in my case I'm gonna cool the cpu with a 240/280mm aio in my mini-itx case, and very probably i'm gonna do some undervolt, PBO, watt cap, etc, just to lower cpu temps a bit on both intel and ryzen. I'm available for other recommendations but should match the same price as the 14600k.
