intel Trouble installing be200 on my b760 prime ax
Luminous Journey posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I tried to install be new be200 for some wifi 7 connectivity on my mother board, but the m.2 pinnouts seem to be different. Am I insane or is something wrong? Do I need to return it and get a different card? Pls help -
My W480 have had issues with the installation of AMD graphics drivers. I have tried two fresh installs of Windows 10, installing in safe mode, installing the GPU driver when the display is not connected to the GPU. I have tried three different versions of drivers for the three different tiers of cards I have. Furthermore, when I enable IOMMU in BIOS, the entire screen will become white, regardless of what GPU I have used (I have tested both RX470s, I have also tested two other Radeon HD 4650s, and even the integrated onboard GPU). All 6 of them causes the BIOS boot screen to become completely white, and the BIOS to boot-loop. There were also a lot of Windows WHEA errors related to IOMMU faults and so on. Also sometimes "above 4G encoding" would hang the entire computer. The memory passed all tests, so thats unlikely the issue. I also re-flashed the BIOS image, which helped improve things (instead of a all-white screen when the logo shows, the logo and the "press del to enter setup" become white boxes and other area remain black.) I have talked to a Gigabyte representative and RMAed it, but Gigabyte says there are no problem at all with the board, which I doubt. The board is very slightly bent (maybe 1/8 off across the entire length of board) What could be wrong? W480 Vision W, i5-10600K (I dont think it has ever been overclocked at all), 2666 DDR4 Vengance.

So I bought a Dell Optiplex 3060 with a i5 8400. I need to add a GPU and I have 200$ budget, but I also want a ram upgrade. I was thinking of a GTX 1600 or rtx 3060. Maybe one from Radeon. I am new to this and extremly unsure what to buy.

I bought this CPU about 2 years ago, and bought a cheap LGA2011 motherboard. The CPU did not fit so it has just been on a shelf for 2 years. CPU is a 12 core 2.60GHz Xeon E7-4860V2

DRAM issue on Z270 board, no post, run out of options...
naazynaaz posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Trying to bring new life into my old main machine parts (these have been for the most part sitting in the open so for a while ive been skeptical of them even working). Recently used them in a build but cannot get it to post with a DRAM failure light. Here are the parts: Motherboard: MSI Z270 SLI Plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED 16 GB 2666mhz CL16 CPU: Intel Core i7 7700k PSU: Corsair SF850L Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini I got the build done relatively quickly but as mentioned above the system doesnt seem to make it past DRAM checks in order to boot, ive been browsing all over the internet for solutions. I have: Reseated the RAM, removed one DIMM, inserted them into one of the other 3 slots available, reboot, repeat still DRAM light. Tried known working DDR4 memory (in my current machine) still no boot, same error. Tried a brand new kit of LPX memory, still no boot with the same troubleshooting steps as above. Reseated the CPU Cooler as posts online say Z270 boards are abit fragile with motherboard bend?? but still no boot. Removed the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS, left it out for 5minutes, placed it back in, still no boot. Rubbing the sticks with rubber??? (yes im desperate). Ive attached in this post images and video of the build as well as the EZ Debug LEDs displaying DRAM error, to be clear the lights flash CPU then DRAM and STAY on DRAM for a couple seconds and reset, from the motherboard manual this indicates a RAM failure of some sort. Not sure at this point what to do as im thinking this could be a motherboard issue. Any tips or guidance would be helpful. Cheers. EDIT: No GPU as i wanted to use these old parts/pc as a home lab to try somethings out on it. 20240414_011940.mp4- 8 replies

I'm building a super cheap retro-ish miniPC for Windows 7, mainly aiming at co-op couch gaming, and trying to use used parts off of ebay wherever possible to do my part to reduce the net sum of e-waste floating around. I've already got a Core 2 Quad Q9400 coming in, an Intel DG45FC mini-ITX motherboard coming in, a low profile 95W cooler for LGA775 coming in, and I'll eventually be getting a new 300W flex-ATX PSU for it because used power supplies scare me. I want to eventually buy two 4GB DDR2 800MHz sticks for it, but for now I think I've got some 1GB or 2GB sticks laying around somewhere to get it up and running. I've also got a GT-1030 to pair with it for now, and all of this will be packed into a Velka 3 case I've been sitting on, with a 500GB SATA SSD. My issues/questions are these: 1. The motherboard in question only has a x1 PCIe slot, and the GT-1030 uses up to 4 PCIe lanes if what I've read is correct. It's already a little underpowered for 1080p gaming with that CPU, around a 13% GPU bottleneck, but will the x1 lane limitation make a meaningful dent in it's already modest performance? I have the appropriate riser coming in, I just don't know what to expect. 2. Given that x1 PCIe slot limitation, albeit with a x1-x16 riser, what low power ITX graphics card could I upgrade to later, considering it needs to be powered off of the slot, fit in the Velka 3, and have Windows 7 drivers? 3. How tolerant of lower RAM speeds are motherboards, generally? This one is specced for DDR2 800MHz and 677MHz, but would it hypothetically work with slower RAM if that's all I have on hand, as an interem configuration to get it up and running? Those questions and concerns aside, if anyone has any advice or ideas they'd like to share, please feel free.

Budget (including currency): 260 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, light editing Other details: currently just waiting on my case to arrive, I have all other parts needed. Parts include a Gigabyte B365M motherboard, EVGA 1660, i5-9600, Crucial 32gb DDR4 3200mhz RAM, 750w PSU, Crucial 1tb M.2, and a cheapo cooler. Managed to come in so cheap as I traded a "freedom stick" for the CPU, GPU and MoBo. I most definitely will be re-building this sooner rather than later because I'm sure there are several games I'll want to run higher. This will be my first PC aside from a CyberPower pre built I had a few years ago that I had to sell due to finances. Very excited to try my hand building one. LTTs budget build videos inspired me to try to cobble it together as cheaply as possible. I don't have a monitor yet so I'll be using a 19in spectre TV lol

As the title says, Borderlands 2 crashes instantly upon clicking "PLAY" in the launcher (specifically, it'll load the first frame of the 2K splash screen, then lock up a second and close). Borderlands 3 runs with no problems. Hunt: Showdown and L4D2 will both occasionally crash for seemingly no reason in the same way--all temperatures are seemingly fine, nothing particularly intense is going on, though my game will just freeze for about half a second with no audio, then play the next frame, then hard crash to desktop. I've verified integrity of game files for all of them, and issues persist. For Hunt, the crash crops up like every 1 in 4 games or so, and in L4D2 it happens after like 30 minutes or so of playing. As a bonus, Counter-Strike 2 will also crash like once every 4 or 5 rounds, and sometimes won't even let me load into the menu. I've tried running 3DMark benchmarks and stress tests (specifically, Time Spy, Time Spy Extreme, Fire Strike, and some others I can't think of) with no issues whatsoever. I don't remember the framerates I get in each game, but I believe they're all consistently >100. I've been dealing with these problems for months now and nothing I do can fix it. I just re-installed Windows hoping it was some problem with it, but the same problems are still around. I've gotten to the point where I'm considering just replacing my desktop that's served me loyally for a decade and just building a new computer, but I'd be willing to try whatever the LTT forum gods have to offer. Are there any special BIOS settings I should try using, options to change in Windows, or just some hardware incompatibility I have that I'm blind to? Feel free to suggest stuff that's plainly obvious as well. My experience debugging computer issues is really limited, so it's possible I might have just not considered something that everyone would start with. System information: OS: Windows 11 Pro CPU: Intel i7-13700k no OC done, and I just got done clearing CMOS so I suspect that would have gotten rid of any it had CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING WIFI BIOS currently all at default settings after clearing CMOS BIOS version is American Megatrends, Inc. 3302, 2/21/2024 RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 5600MHz for some reason, it's showing as 4800MHz in Task Manager GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Latest Game Ready driver is installed, as of 3/19/2024 PSU: Corsair RM850x Boot SSD: SAMSUNG 980 PRO Case: Cooler Master HAF X I've also got a SATA SSD I use for recording OBS clips into and storing games, and 3 HDDs for more storage, if that matters at all. Also, in case it matters, my OBS settings are attached; I have the Replay Buffer running pretty much all the time, so that may have something to do with this.

Recently I encountered a weird issue with Firefox renderer I believe. I know that this should probably need to be addressed by the Firefox community, but I believe this forum is a good start and way more active than Mozillas. When I start playing a video on youtube it causes GPU spikes at over 60% utilization. If I kill that process, firefox restarts it with way less GPU usage, more in line with normal behaviour, at ~20%. Chrome allways uses way more GPU so that's why I'm sticking with Firefox. The graphics drivers are updated to the latest version both in Intels driver utility and in ASUS's updater. (it's a ASUS Vivobook notebook with I5 11300H and Nvidia 3050). I'm leaving here a unlisted youtube video for you to observe the behaviour. Feel free to give me any suggestion on this issue and also repost it or give a headsup to Mozilla if you have any contacts with them. OBS Screen recording

Hi everyone, I have noticed that while I am watching videos on Youtube the memory usage increases of my GPU (NVIDIA RTX 3070 8gb). See Attached Image. I googled about this and I found out it has something to do with "Use hardware acceleration when available" in Mozilla Firefox. I also read somewhere that disabling this will increase load on the CPU (Intel i5-12400) instead of GPU. So which option is better? Is it better to put load on GPU while watching videos or live streams? Which option will lower the overall power consumption?

As the title suggests - I launch Intel XTU and it just sits there on the splash screen indefinitely. I've reinstalled, rebooted etc. and it's not working. It has worked in the past when I was using an ASUS ROG STRIX z790-E, but I had some hardware issues so I sent that back and got a new motherboard. Current setup: OS: Windows 10 Motherboard: ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi CPU: Intel I9-14900K RAM: 64GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance 6400 MHz GPU: MSI Geforce 3080 TI SuprimX BIOS version: 13.03 I cannot for the LIFE of me to get it to work. I've scoured google and other forums to find a fix - but I have no clue how to fix this problem.

Hi, I am not sure if this is where I am supposed to post this, if I am not supposed to post this here I apologize in advance. So, my pc was crashing after I accidentally installed ai suite 3 ( I did not know what it was after realizing what it does I immediately uninstalled it ) after that I started experiencing crashes and I tried to reset the bios manually by removing the cell in the motherboard. after a long chain of conversation with the company we found out something was wrong with the cpu ( i9-14900k ) they made me underclock the cpu by going to bios>AI tweaker>Performance core ratio and changing that to by core usage> and changing the values to 55, Doing this somehow fixed all my issues. I am just wondering is this a common issue with the i9-14900k and how does this affect me, will I not be able to get the full output of the cpu? Thank you in advance for any info you can give me. I apologize again just in case this is not the appropriate place to post this and ask questions.

The problem is somewhat vague and seems to change how it presents itself. I apologize if anything is unclear, but I'm here to answer questions ASAP. Description of problem: Around 2 weeks ago my programs started crashing. At first it was discord randomly crashing and restarting, then my games would crash whenever a round ended, which I found very strange. It got worse over the two weeks and I eventually got frustrated not being able to fix it, so I formatted my drive and reinstalled Windows, but the problem is somehow worse. Now, most driver installers crash or fail, and I occasionally get various errors trying to browse the internet. Most notably, my intel chipset drivers fail to install, and my Nvidia drivers fail to install. The strangest crash is the Nvidia drivers because when I try to install them on a fresh windows the installer will quickly crash and close, then maybe 5 minutes later my screen will flicker and Nvidia control panel is installed. I've spent all day on Microsoft support trying to see if it's a problem with Windows, and even though they eventually got the Windows updates to install without crashing, everything else still crashes and might crash worse. Some drivers I have to install in safe mode and I can install my LAN drivers normally and successfully. I noticed the Q-LED (ASUS motherboard) for the CPU flashing while I was using the computer, and all troubleshooting information I could find from ASUS only mentioned the LEDs flashing during the boot process and didn't mention what they may indicate while the computer is running. Problem Checklist: - Nvidia drivers fail to install in a few ways - error message: NVidia driver not compatible with this version of windows - Simply crashes and closes - Crashes during installation with error message: NVidia drivers failed to install - Intel chipset drivers fail with error message: Unknown error (Useful!) - Steam can install, games can be installed, but they can never successfully start or run System specs: CPU: Intel i9-14900kf Motherboard: ASUS Prime z790-A WIFI RAM: 4x16GB DDR5-5200 (XMP currently disabled) G.Skill Ripjaws S5 GPU: Nvidia RTX 4070ti Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Troubleshooting steps taken: - Swapped RAM around in every imaginable configuration/combination - Changed SSD to Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - Flashed BIOS - Reset CMOS - Changed motherboard to ASUS TUF z790-Plus WIFI - Clean boot Windows - Safe mode Windows - Install Windows 11 - Disable all non-Microsoft services - "Repair upgrade" (Microsoft support used this phrase to tell me to install Windows 10 from within Windows 10. I think it was silly) - Many more I can't immediately think of

Hello, I searched the forums and the broader internet but couldn't find a good comparison of an M3 Max vs an equivalent Intel or AMD processor. A lot of the comparison sites just don't have comparative fields for Apple vs Intel processors. (Aka price to performance calcs). Can anyone point me to a good Intel or AMD processor that would be on-par with an M3 Max chip? I certainly don't need an Intel Core i9-14900k, but I am looking forward to using a proper Desktop class processor. I have not built a computer for about a decade. I currently have a 16" m1 Pro MBP, and an m2 MBA for work. Looking to build a gaming, 3D modeling, and 4k video editing windows PC. I plan to game at 1440p and don't care about ray tracing. I won't be playing many AAA games like Cyberpunk or Tomb Raider, more indy titles. So 1440p at 120hz will be my target monitor. Perhaps a second monitor at 4k with great color accuracy but a low refresh rate. Thank you!

Hi guys, Need some help here, I've been trying to install Audition but the installation process stops instantly giving me an error saying my CPU (2x E5520) doesn't support AVX2, I saw that intel released a tool called SDE which is an emulator which allows to emulate different architectures, giving the chance to emulate different instruction sets, the problem is, I am a noob, and I can't skillfully use the CMD, intel itself has tutorial and material on their website, but again, not savvy enough to understand, I'll leave a link (if that's allowed), if someone can dumb it down for me that'll be really appreciated https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/tool/software-development-emulator.html

Hello, I am planning on buying a laptop for myself for regular day-to-day office work and some/ rare gaming. I have been looking at Lenovo and Asus and I am confused between 2 specifications. A-> Company- ASUS- TUF A15 CPU- AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX GPU- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop RAM- 8GB DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM *2 Storage- 512GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 SSD B-> Company- Lenovo LOQ CPU- Intel i5-12450H GPU- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop RAM- 8GB DDR5-4800MHz (SODIMM) *2 Storage- 512 GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe Gen4 TLC Both systems have 8GBx2 = 16GB of ram. but A has DDR4 ran whereas B has DDR5 ram. Both are at an approximate same price point but the ASUS laptop is refurbished. My approximate budget is 70,000 INR +/- 5,000 INR. I am unsure as to which laptop to select. Please feel free to ask any questions/ clarifications/ details required from my side. Kindly help.
