I know it's usually the other way around, but it seems that some games (e.g. csgo) will not run integrated graphics unless I disable the dedicated GPU. I have a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming w/ a 4600h and a GTX1650 and would like to run lighter games on the iGPU but despite setting up both Nvidia Control panel and Windows Graphics settings, I cannot get some titles to do it unless I didable the 1650 from device manager (im which case csgo runs at 100+ fps, so the igpu isn't faulty). Any idea how to fix this?

so my soon to be brother in-law has told me, and I trust him, that even if a cpu says it doesn't support integrated graphics, it acually will, just at a lower fps, I am coming here asking because google has been no help and I know most of the people if not all know what they are doing here. If anybody knows if I can at least set up my settings and bios and stuff without a gpu, please help, I am going to be using a ryzen 5 3600 6 core cpu. please help me, this is my first build, also my mobo does support integrated graphics, its a tuf x570 plus wifi.

Hello there, In my studio I have 4k TV (hdmi only) as a main screen and second HDReady screen with only VGA input. Now, I would like to avoid, if possible to have graphics card in this setup (lower noise, temps and so on). I am not planning any gaming on it. I have z170 motherboard with i7-6700k cpu. I have two outputs from my z170 motherboard - DisplayPort and HDMI. So I have connected HDMI->HDMI on TV. By itself it works great, nice and sharp, 60Hz running well. When I connect my DP->VGA adapter and VGA->VGA cable into my second screen, both shows up, but the 4k TV is a bit muddy, not that clean and sharp as it was before connecting second screen. Also, after lets say 30 seconds, it switches off for few seconds and then load back. And it repeats after another 30seconds or so. Also it runs only 29Hz. Is it even possible to run this setup? Maybe the DP->VGA adapter is not the best idea? I would like to keep the second monitor, since its small and I use it only for Audio EQ visualisation. Thank you in advance for your input. Martin

I'm doing a new 1440p build with hopefully 2 monitors. Only, I just have a GTX 1070 to run them. 1 monitor will be at 1440p and 1 at 1080p. I was hoping to use the 1440p as a content creator and gaming monitor while the 1080p monitor will just be used for Google etc. I came here to ask if anyone knows if its possible to plug my 1440p monitor into my 1070 and my 1080p monitor into my integrated graphics motherboard? If you are suggesting to upgrade the GPU, Please don't.

TL;DR Anyone have before and after temps, after upgrading from an igpu? I'm looking to gather some data on whether or not upgrading from an igpu to a dedicated card has a major impact on overall system temperatures. I've tried googling it, searching various forums, and just generally asking around. But no one seems to have any hard data. Like at all. No one seems to care about the temperatures before and after, under the same work load. I'm looking to upgrade my system with a gpu, but no increase the work load. I just want to lower the overall temps in the case. My build right now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rFLCNN and I'm looking to put in: MSI RX 550 2gb https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-550-2GT-LP/dp/B072S87MKT/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1509346476&sr=1-2&keywords=msi+550 I do plan on removing the fan assembly due to space restrictions. I am building inside an xbox 360. So far my temps are in the 30's for general productivity and hd video. But even playing older games (Halo CE, Witcher 1) I'm seeing temps go up to the 60's. Newer games on low to medium settings play well enough, with the temps going even higher, into the 70's at times. Now I know these are all within operating tolerances, but I don't like the sound of the fans spinning up to compensate. Breaks the illusion of playing on an actual 360. This ended up being longer that I had planned.

graphics card Switching from Dedicated to Integrated Graphics
Edercina posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I've got work to do between two PCs. Specifically, I want to transplant an nVidia GT 630 from the older one. The PCs are both HP pre-builts pulled from an office: a dc7800 CMT and an 8200 Elite. After the card was installed in the 7800, the integrated drivers were uninstalled. Now I've found what the HP website claims is the driver installer and I'm wondering about the order in which things should be done. Would it be safe to just install the integrated graphics driver, even though I already have nVidia drivers running? -
So currently I'm in a bit of a predicament. I have two monitors I want to use but I keep running into more walls. Another thread I posted recently concluded in me gaining some interesting information. Apparently, you cannot plug two analog signals into one graphics card. I'm not sure why this would be an issue, and I have searched some other forums about this. Other forums say otherwise on this issue, but another issue I am running into is being able to run one monitor off dedicated graphics and another off of integrated graphics. I have searched my BIOS but it appears I cannot turn integrated graphics back on after I plug in a dedicated graphics card. Some people still have gotten this to work, and I have previously gotten my old HP Compaq to work with a low profile graphics card and integrated graphics. Can anyone answer the numerous questions I have?

I am trying to update the drivers for the igpu on my intel 4570. I have a gtx 1080 so i am getting video via that. When i try and update the igpu drivers i get a "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install this software error". So I try and go to device manager and update it there using the "find automatically" option there, but the adapter isn't showing up under display adapters

Problem: My laptop has an amd apu with integrated graphics. These integrated graphics seem to block the dedicated GPU from activating in games. Games automatically select the integrated graphics. And since the apu can't handle games from 8 years before it's manufacturing it gets quite anoying. I like to use my dedicated GPU in games instead of my APU if anyone knows how to fix this i'd be so grateful Specs: - Model: HP Pavilion 17-f084nd - CPU: AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics* - GPU: AMD Radeon R5 Graphics* (APU), AMD Radeon R7 M260 - RAM: 6,00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz - MOBO: Hewlett-Packard 226B (P0) - BIOS version: F.11 *The R5 Graphics aren't specified. It actually sais R5 graphics http://imgur.com/a/6I3qc Device manager: http://imgur.com/a/TiRUL Tried solutions: Updating the drivers for every component, obviously. Installing AMD Radeon control center Source: https://support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202305784-Changing-graphics-card-settings-to-use-your-dedicated-GPU-on-a-Windows-computer- However when I did it I seemed to lack quite a few options as seen here http://imgur.com/a/NvXwc Changing settings inside the bios Source: http://superuser.com/questions/940410/laptop-refuses-to-use-dedicated-gpu And again my bios lacks the advanced section that the person in the article had. http://imgur.com/a/S8Mbj Messing around with disabling devices and drivers. Disable R5 graphics ----> restart Disable R7 graphics ----> restart Disable R5 and R7 graphics -----> restart Disable R5 drivers ------ Restart Disable both drivers ------> restart nothing worked If you need any more information feel free to ask

Hi, I wounder if it is possible to use both my Intel GPU memory & my Nvidia GPU memory? When I play for example GTA 5 it says I only have ~2GB Graphics memory, but in dxdiag i have ~10GB. So I want to know if there is a setting somewhere or something I can do to make this work. I have: Intel Skylake 6700k (8GB) Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 (2GB)

By asking this question I am assuming that new systems don't work or show any output from the googling I did. I was just looking for PC parts and the parts I picked are CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard: ASRock B450M Steel Legend and was wondering if I can use it without dedicated GPU because I don't have money for good GPU but I don't want to buy an APU just to change it later. Old systems I had with Pentium 4 and Athlon something of that era worked fine and assumed that all systems work even without GPU. Now I don't understand why modern systems do not work. Is it because the video ports linked or interfaced with iGPU instead of processor or something. If so then are there motherboards with display ports for both CPU and iGPU?

I’m not a forum guy, but I don’t know where else to turn to get my question answered. I’ve searched everywhere and nobody seems to know the answer to my question, they all just speculate. So for those of you that think you know a thing or two about GPUs: If I have dual 4K monitors connected to my PC extending the desktop, and one is connected to the dedicated GPU and the other is connected to the onboard graphics (due to limited port options), which is used for processing graphics, and how can I tell? If I want to use the dedicated GPU to process CAD work, can I only use CAD programs on the monitor that’s connected directly to the GPU? Will connecting to the integrated graphics bypass the dedicated graphics? I do IT work for a fairly large company, and they don’t want to replace all the old GPUs with newer ones, so I’m stuck with the old 1x VGA 1x HDMI and 1x DVI ports. IMHO that is the dumbest design and oversight in our solar system, because if I want to connect 2 monitors, and I want those monitors to be identical, they need to have several types of inputs. Worse, if I want to connect 3, they all need to have all 3- VGA, HDMI, and DVI, or I need to defile my setup with some stupid adapter. Hence, I resort to using the HDMI and Display Port built into the motherboard, which I assume are using onboard graphics. My concern, seeing as the employees at my company are engineers and use AutoCAD and the like, is that this is killing their performance. Is it? Who can answer my question?

Hi all, Long story short; my GTX860M crashes windows 10 upon startup, so i disabled that in the bios. And am now limited to my intel HD4600. Only problem is, during browsing etc, it runs at its boost clock the entire time. 1200Mhz. But during any type of game or 3D program (i do 3D design in C4D, blender and fusion 360) it instantly downclocks itself to 400-500Mhz. I have no clue why this happens, i know i cant dedicate more ram to the igpu via bios (i can barely do anything in bios really). would anyone know how i can force the igpu to work as fast as it can in all programs? be it BAT files or whatever. intel i7 4710HQ @2,5Ghz 16GB DDR3 @1600Mhz 1TB evo860 ssd

Is it possible to overclock the Intel iris pro 550 graphics in the MacBook Pro 2016 13inch with touchbar? If it is I'll probably undervolt and liquid metal it so I'll have a decent gaming experience. Also, does undervolting increase battery life and can I undervolt the iGPU. I'm happy to use bootcamp as I'll only play games in bootcamp. I have a seperate gaming PC but when in out and about it would be good to get some extra Performancd out of my 1300$.

I'm sure the answer to this question is somewhere on the forum but since I can't find it, here's the question. I am looking to build a new pc but have reached a crossroads where the cpu is concerned. I can get a better, cheaper cpu (on paper) but it comes with integrated graphics or I can get a slightly more expensive but slightly less powerful (on paper) cpu without integrated graphics. I plan on using a dedicated graphics card in the machine so the integrated graphics doesn't bother me much but my question is, can I put a dedicated graphics card in the same machine that already has integrated graphics or do I have to go with the none integrated graphics solution for stability and ease of use. The computer will be used for both gaming and productivity.

This is such an odd and specific question that I was sure google had nothing for me. My friend overheated his i7 8700k because he had no idea that the stock cooler was woefully for it (and yes, he had a Z370 board, spare the thread from your cringes. I can hear them from here.) His computer now no longer turns on whatsoever, so I'm going to walk him through the RMA process to repair his stuff, but when that's all said and done, he actually doesn't have a graphics card. He was gaming on the iGPU. Rest assured I've convinced him of the necessity of literally any CPU cooler but stock. My question is: would a really old graphics card be a suitable replacement until he gets an actual graphics card? I'm not talking 650 or something, here's the card I have on hand: An 8400 GS. Really really old, I know. But the benefit of taking some thermal load off the CPU is one thing, the only question is, will it be better than iGPU performance? It actually overclocks as far as the software pushes it without complaining, so in my opinion, there is potential. Thoughts? And also, troubleshooting tips?

I have a gaming laptop but the battery life isn't that great. So i thought maybe its possible to use the intel hd graphics instead of the 1060. So my questions are is this possible and how? and will this change the battery life? I know this wont give me the same performance as using the 1060. I will only use the integrated graphics for typing and maybe powerpoint. Thanks

Hello i will build a new pc for around $350. I will start first with the integrated gpu in the processor and later i will buy either gt 1030 or gtx 750ti. I have two choices for cpu: G4560 and G4600. I'll run the system on dual channel memory 2133mhz. Is HD 630 that better than the HD 610 or it's not worth in to throw $20-25 more into the G4600.

My motherboard is an ASUS M4N68T-M-V2 with NVIDIA GeForce 7025 Graphics Controller. I'm fairly certain that it's disabled though as I'm running a 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6450 dedicated card. My question is do I need to have PhysX 9.10.0129 installed even though my motherboards integrated graphics are disabled?
