Main display: AOC I2269Vw Secondary display: ENVISION EN-5200ei CPU: Intel Core i5 6402P Motherboard: ASUS H170-PRO BIOS: American Megatrends ver. 0906 RAM: ADATA XPG 1x8GB running at 3390MHz (Prebuilt, don’t know advertised NB freq) GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 960 4GB PSU: 500W So, I’m trying to set things up so that I can run my primary display (and my games) off of my 960, and the secondary display off of the discrete graphics of the CPU, to avoid putting more load on the admittedly in-need-of-upgrade 960. I’ve connected my primary display to the 960 via the card’s DVI port and my secondary to the discrete via the VGA port on the mobo. Works fine during general use, and when I look into the graphics menus of each, I see that the 960 only sees the AOC, and the discrete only sees the Envision. So that all seems good. However, here’s the problem: I play a LOT of Overwatch, and when I launch Overwatch, the graphics come from the discrete graphics. (I say this because when I first got the PC I mistakenly plugged my monitor into the discrete, and the results now are exactly what they were then: seemingly negative amounts of antialiasing and huge pixels on player models.) Does anybody have any help for how I can get my games to run off of the proper GPU other than removing the second monitor? If there aren’t any alternatives, I’ll do that, but I’d rather be able to have the secondary display if possible.

so i was wondering something.. i "added" ram to my integrated graphics.. The value has changed from 128mb to 15xxmb, and ive had it up to 4096mb.. but my qyestion is, what is this actually changing? is just the displayed value changed? is the number sent to games changed? or did this actually allocate real physical memory from RAM to video RAM? i tested it out on every game i own... changed all the graphics settings to "high" or "ultra" and it gets laggy and choppy.. I dont think its my processor or System RAM, so i think even though the value of the video ram changed in adapter properties, i dont think it is actually using anything more than the 128mb of ram that was originally there.. Run.. regedit... local machine/ software/ Intel.. right click on intel.. new/ key.. Rename that new folder "GMM" (all caps, no quotes).. in the GMM folder, right click in the box to the right that shows the contents of the folders, new/ DWORD (32 bit) value.. rename that file "DedicatedSegmentSize" (just as written there, no spaces, first letter of each word capital, no quotes).. Double click "DedicatedSegmentSize" where it says "value Data" enter a number.... ( the exact value you enter is NOT the value of ram that you want... i entered 1024 and it gave me 4096mb.. i entered 512 and it gave me 1566mb.. havent figured that part out yet why it does that..) thats what i did. ive read that this does NOT work on integrated graphics 400 or lower.. and does NOT work on AMD integrated graphics.. works ONLY on intel. if anyone has any input that would be great.. or if anyone knows what that is actually doing, it would be awesome.. thanks in advance everyone.. lenovo ideapad 320 15iap windows 10 x64 quad core 1.1 - 2.5ghz 8GB ddr3 12800 Intel Integrated Graphics HD 505

I dont have a graphics card but i have an intel i7 4790k. Doesnt it have integrated graphics? When i plug my hdmi into the one hdmi slot in the IO it doesnt show anything on the screen. My motherboard is from an alienware x51 r2.

I'm currently running pentium G630 with nvidia nvs300 (512mb) and 6gb ram I'm upgrading to i5 3450 and 8gb ram. I want to buy a better graphics card but I'm saving up more for that, as I'm going to have to buy a new case and psu along with it. The integrated graphics on the pentium are only just under the performance of my current graphics card. Do you think the integrated graphics on the i5 will keep me afloat while I save up? I mainly play esports titles such as CSGO, TF2, CSS and LOL -
Hi, I have a notebook with integrated graphics (intel) and a GTX 1060. It uses the 1060 for all games but I would like to force integrated graphics for some less demanding games (like battleblock theater) to save battery on the go. Is this practically possible? Help much appreciated

Soooo, I noticed my laptop was slowing down quite a bit, especially when I've been gaming. Normally i'd turn the other way as the laptop is around 3-4 years old now, but when it started having trouble with csgo, on low-ish settings, I decided to check it out, and while glancing at my task manager, noticed that only my Integrated Intel HD graphics were being used instead of the Gtx 960M my laptop comes with. I then went online and followed the steps to change the settings for which gpu was used. To my dismay however, when i tried to set my High-performance NVIDIA processor as my preferred graphics processor, I was met with a wonderful message stating "access denied" (also tried this step using the "run as administrator" function and it gave the same result). In case it helps, you should find an attached image displaying both the error message, as well as the task manager performance tab. I believe this only started happening after I updated my GPU through Geforce experience, however considering I havent properly used this laptop for the past 5 months or so at least, I can not be sure. Most solves I found online are concerning a 2015 and 2016 Geforce experience update that caused it, but I have seen 0 recent threads, which is why I thought to post here before trying anything else. Any and all help would be extremely appreciated

Ok, so I just bought a Lenovo Yoga 520 laptop for school. It has 16GB RAM, a dual-core Core i3 7100U processor (2.4GHz) with Intel HD Graphics 620. Unfortunately, the screen has a resolution of only 1366x768, so I really want to buy an external monitor for when I work at home. Will it run a 4K monitor or should I just go for 1080p? I don't do much gaming, if any so that's no issue. Also, is there a way to check whether my HDMI port is 2.0 or not?

Hello, I am planning on doing a lan party, a friend of mine can't take his pc with him, so i decided to build a super budget-rig. What I have is a 7 Year old motherboard (A gigabyte one), an intel core 2 due at 3Ghz (64-bit, i think it's an E4800), 4 gigabytes of ddr2 ram and an ASUS GTS (yes S, not X, this is not a typo) 450. Now this is pc is basically made out of parts i already had or bought real cheap. Now the thing is that after putting the priority to the EGP (PCI-E graphics) in the bios. THe pc still sometimes boots using intel HD graphics. When i turn it off, open the bios and change nothing, it boots using the GPU. I am using a new EVGA 650Watt psu that i had lying around, and tried to install NVIDIA drivers). Now when I boot using the intel graphics, I open device manager, show hidden devices, I see intel HD graphics used, and my gts 450 in grey letters (Its kinda transparent). When I unninstal the intel hd graphics my screen goes black, the screen res changes after a few seconds to like 800 by something, and i see windows again. But when I want to install my NVIDIA drivers, it says the hardware is not compatible (I think it is because the software doesn't see the installed card). But when i am lucky and boot into windows using the GPU I see it in the device manager (not greyed out this time). I can even install the NVIDIA drivers. But when I lauch a game (in this case CS:GO) I find that the performance is pisspoor. I have like 20fps on low res and settings (I know it's a budget card, but online benchmarks show way better results). When i use monitoring sofwtware like MSI afterburner, I see the gpu and cpu are only used to like 20%. Can somebody help me?

Hello everyone! I'm brand new to the "PC Master Race", and I'm in the process of gathering up the parts for my first build. I currently own a Lenovo Y700, but I want to enter the desktop scene. I'm starting out with an odd combination of parts, some of which will be upgraded when I have the money. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/FoolsAnomaly/saved/#view=xVGf7P Everything on this list is on it's way, except for the GTX 1060. Before someone screams at me for bottle-necking the 1060 with a Pentium, just know that I'm planning to upgrade to an i5 6600K ASAP. I got the Pentium because it was on sale for $35 at Fry's, and I'd like to have it available for other builds I might do. Additional note: I have a 1TB external HDD already, I'm planning to just use that with this instead of an internal HDD. So that's about it for now! Everything should be here by Wednesday, and I'll start building then! Any recommendations would be appreciated! -

I'm building a gaming pc but waiting for an RX 480 to come in stock, and I am forced to use integrated graphics with my i3 6100. Do I need a driver for the graphics? If so, where do i get it from -
For some reason , one day when i used my laptop i saw with intel extreme tuning utility that my integrated graphics processor the intel hd 4400 was locked to 200mhz and would not go above it. Upon further inspection i saw that the mosfets had broken off 3 of them and was wondering if that was affecting the electricity delivered to that component. The temperatures were always under 65 and i have 2 external fans so i expect it was fine( laptop cooler and exhaust fan--- budget laptop coolling). The laptop recently broke and i couldnt recover the harddrive so could the hard drive of been affecting the mhz.

Hi, I can't afford a dedicated GPU at the moment, so I'm stuck with Intel HD 4600 Integrated Graphics. Desperate to squeeze as many frames out of my games as possible, went to overclocking. I decided to use the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility because it was first-party, and 3DMark for benchmarking and comparing results. But after my control(base clock) & 1st overclocking test(+200MHz = 1350MHz according to XTU), I realized that I could brick my processor. And sure enough, at my 2nd overclocking test(+400MHz = 1550MHz according to XTU), my computer froze. I restarted it and, luckily it was fine, but I didn't want to take any more risks. So I'm here. I already figured out what dedicated GPU I'm going to get when I have the money, but for now I'm stuck with this. So, my question is, what is a safe overclocking margin for this processor? Hello, I was trying to decide whether or not to buy a USB-C adapter for my rig. I have a very good NVidia GeForce GTX 480 (see my profile page for full system details) but it doesn't support DirectX 12 yet. However, my CPU is an Intel Core i5-6600k that has integrated graphics that supports DirectX 12. The only problem is that my motherboard (MSI Z170 SLI) does not have any ports to connect a monitor so I can't really use the integrated graphics at the moment. If I were to buy a USB-C to DVI adapter, would that enable the integrated graphics on my CPU? Or does the fact that my motherboard lacks display output completely disable the onboard graphics functionality? Any explanation would be greatly appreciated! -
would the AMD A8-7600 be able to run dual monitors off of the integrated graphics? Not for gaming or anything. Just doing some light - medium office work.

I'm trying to update an older laptop with a new CPU. It has a Mobile Intel HM55 chipset (Ark here: http://ark.intel.com/products/43183/Intel-BD82HM55-PCH#@compatibility ), which supports a handful of quad core CPUs. However, none of them show support for Intel HD Graphics. Can anyone confirm that previous generation quad cores lack support for Intel HD? Obviously I need to be able to use a monitor, and since it's a laptop, expansion options are pretty limited. Thanks in advance for any help! -
I'm going to be running a system with integrated graphics for a while. I'm also going to be using a locked CPU because I have no intention of overclocking. I've heard things about DDR4 with higher frequencies helping integrated graphics to perform significantly better. This gets me kind of interested, but I have a few questions about the whole thing. The first question: Would I need a Z170 board to take advantage of the help the faster RAM gives my processor/iGPU, or am I fine with an H170/lesser board? The second question: Do I need to overclock my CPU to get my RAM to run at it's advertised speed, or is there another way I can do that? The third question: Can somebody help me find a motherboard to use? I don't need a ton of features... I just need a motherboard that works, is able to handle 16GB of RAM (all of the new ones), with decent audio and fast Ethernet. EDIT: I'm trying to keep my budget below $600. I can go up to $650 if it's necessary in order to ensure the top quality of my computer's parts. I'm buying everything inside of the USA, preferably from Amazon (I have a Prime membership). Greetings. Intel's Skylake CPUs with their HD 530 iGPUs are yet to match the astounding results handed in by the Iris Pro 6200 integrated graphics seen on some Macs and mobile CPUs, and only two desktop CPUs- The i5 5675C and the i7 5775C. Since they perform on par with their Haswell counterparts and can even be overclocked. The Iris Pro 6200 Graphics have also been known to far outperform intel's new HD 530 iGPU as well as the on-die R7 graphics from AMD's Kaveri and Godavari A10 APUs. Does this make them the ideal solution for a video editing rig that is also capable of light gaming? Not that I'm looking to build one- I'm just curious. Regards, Aereldor. -
Hey guys, Let me start by posting my PC Part Picker List - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7xwL3C But my question is here, the motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H-A LGA 1150 Intel B85 has an Intel HD 4600 card on board, which using synthetic benchmarks (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/mid_range_gpus.html) shows a score of 714, which is a significant upgrade to what he has now. Now the CPU im looking to get him is the Intel G3258 3.2 Anniversary ed. (overclockable one) also has built in HD Intel Graphics, but cant seem to determine what "card" or graphics chipset it uses compared to the Motherboard. I do plan on overclocking the CPU as high as I can get it (yes I'm water cooling it) So the question is, would it be better to use the Motherboards onboard Intel HD 4600 and let the CPU do all the CPU work and not have it bother with GPU activity? Or are the integrated Intel HD Graphics in the G3258 better, and should use that instead? (until he gets his own higher end video card)

My GPU needs to be sent back, in the mean time, what games can I play. I have an i7-4790K. I'm fine with anything 30fps plus. Preferably Steam, not sure if I want to download some .exes on my new system. By the way; what would the integrated graphics be comparable to, in terms of graphics cards.

Hey guys, so yesterday, I was installing a second SSD and now my computer won't output video. I tried taking out the Graphics card and connecting my monitor to VGA and HDMI On the motherboard. Neither works. Please help. My Specs: Intel i7 4790k MSI Z97 G45 Asus Strix DCU3 980 TI Corsair HX 1000i 2X 240gb SSD (1 intel, 1 kingston) 2X 8gb HyperX 2X 1TB HDD. Please help I'm desperate! Note: computer will stay running. No beeps from the board or warning lights.
