OK... I have had a Nokia Lumia 720 for the past 3+ years or so, and now with the recent death stroke from Microsoft on Windows Phone, I have finally decided to get something this year. I haven't been looking into the smart phone market since I bought the Lumia 720, just heard some buzzes here and there, but that's it. Now I am researching into Android, with about 3 to 4 years of tech to look into, and would definitely appreciate some help and recommendations. I am from India, so the prices will vary depending on where you are, but I will try my best to list my budget appropriately. What I want from my new Phone: Software Updates for 2 to 3 years Camera with decent Slow-Motion capture Wireless Charging Explanation: Regarding the software updates, I am going to be starting a YouTube channel, so its paramount for me to have the apps related to them up-to-date including YouTube and YT Studio. I know that after some years, software updates don't come along, but I don't know the precise details about this. So I am quite confused with this part. I also found out about Stock Android, Android One and Android Go. And it seems that Stock Android is the one with perpetual updates for life, while One has a similar concept but for mid to low budget phones, and Go is basically for OEM versions. I maybe wrong here. Then there's the OxygenOS for OnePlus, an OEM but not sure how long the updates are supported on them. Camera, basically I am going heavily into Animation/Digital Art, so looking for a camera with decent slow-motion capture. Megapixels is my least of the worry, so I can compromise on that. But colors are important, I will be capturing pics to use for references, so I am expecting something good here. Priority wise Colors>Slow Motion There are too many cables around my desktop, so hoping to minimize on that aspect. Lowest priority though, I can consider something that doesn't have wireless charging as well. Regarding the display, I mostly consume media on my PC so not looking for anything fancy here, but it seems most of the displays produced in recent times are good. Budget: Currently, I am looking at a budget of $300 (Rs. 21,000). But I am willing to increase it if there aren't any phones available who meet my conditions at that price point. Most likely, I am asking for too much. From all that, should I consider waiting on this year for new releases? Or are there any recommendations? I am kinda inclining towards phones featuring Android One. I am also looking for some guidance in that aspect mostly. If you want any further clarifications, I would be happy to answer them.

I am an accounting student doing CA ( Indian CPA equivalent). I am looking for a laptop for around ₹ 70000 to ₹ 1000000. Primary use case would be accounting softwares , excel , ppt , and casual youtube and netflix. I think that business laptops are just advertising gimmicks to charge a premium from enterprises, therefore I wanted to ask you guys for suggestions and guidance.

Considering this move of Apple, focusing on growing markets-both in numbers and consumers as well. What do you guys think, will Apple start acknowledging your debts? and consider devices apart from iPhones which will become more considerate on your wallet and overall experience as well from a performance per dollar perspective. Especially accounting the huge iPhone sale and Apple share value percentage drops,as Lewis has stated and techlinked POV as well:

Mumbai/Delhi: Apple Inc. will begin assembling its top-end iPhones in India through the local unit of Foxconn Technology Co. Ltd as early as 2019, the first time the Taiwanese contract manufacturer will have made the product in the country, according to three people familiar with the matter. Importantly, Foxconn will be assembling the most expensive models, such as the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, the person said, potentially taking Apple’s business in India to a new level. The work will take place at Foxconn’s plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, the person added. Foxconn, which already makes phones for Xiaomi Corp. in India, will invest ₹2,500 / $ 325 million crore to expand the plant, including investment in iPhone production, Tamil Nadu’s industries minister M.C. Sampath told Reuters. The investment may create as many as 25,000 jobs, he added. A second person declined to be named as this person is not authorised to speak to the media. A third person confirmed Foxconn planned to assemble iPhones in India. Hey guys, its my first post in LTT. I don't know if this is the right section. If any mod has seen this and there is a better section for this post, pls inform me so that i can post in the right place, or if you have the power, pls do so yourself. I saw the recent Techlinked video (Bendgate 2.0 -21/12/2018) in which i learned about Privacy.com for the first time. I had the sponsor in the back of mind, as i own a debit card and was always skeptical to use it, but has to use it in certain situations, especially when some of there are some good offers if i use my Banks card and i have to save a buck where i can and so and so. But apparently the Android app isn't available in India. Can anyone confirm if I can access it by using a vpn? or is it risky to try and do so? But most of all does it even work for Indian debit cards? (There is an irony here i guess, using a vpn so that i can get a technical vpn for my debit card) And yes I do need that 5$.. for steam of course.. I can finally get some 5$ games.. I am looking at you Klei Entertainment... Or maybe Astroneer.. Although i doubt if my potato pc can handle it.. Or at least I can change my limited account status in steam.

I'm planning on assembling a budget gaming PC for my little brother and am confused whether I should go for the R3 1300x or i3 8100, I don't plan on overclocking the CPU or the GPU (I don't think the motherboard I chose supports overclocking). Below is the list of components I'll be using (They're almost the same apart from the CPU and motherboard ). AMD Build - CPU - Ryzen R3 1300x Motherboard - Asus Prime A320M-K AM4 Graphics card - Asus GTX 1050ti Phoenix 4GB RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR4 LPX 2400MHz (Single Channel, I plan on expanding later) PSU - Gigabyte GP-PB500 500W Case - Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1 mATX Intel Build - CPU - Intel i3 8100 Motherboard - Gigabyte H310M-H Graphics card - Asus GTX 1050ti Phoenix 4GB RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR4 LPX PSU - Gigabyte GP-PB500 500W Case - Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1 mATX The primary use of this computer would be gaming (no streaming or photo, video editing of any sort). I'll also be buying the LG 24MP59G-P monitor. Any changes to this setup are welcome, as long as it doesn't exceed my budget. (Rs. 60,000 or 600$)

//Friendly For Newbies Hello Everyone, If anyone is facing an issue with Tenda AC-10 Gigabit Routers, going into a boot loop when both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SSID are set to the same name( at least I faced the issue, where you have to just reset it ) and you are on version 15.03.06.45 of firmware version, which for the most regions is the latest version of the router. I would suggest going into advanced options and upgrade it manually to version 15.03.06.46. I got this from Tenda Russia - Product support Website for Tenda AC 10 ( for the same model ), where it is the first file, you can download it from here. If your original language for the router is English, after upgrading it will remain the same - English. Or whatever the language you had originally. Only it may change upon resetting the router ( not tested ). The language doesn't change automatically to Russian. I have tested the firmware yesterday, so far no other issues at all. I have also attached the files, in case Tenda removes it sometime later, you can download any one of those. One is a zip file which you have to extract, which you will get on the website, Other is an extracted file ( about the same size ) which you have to flash to the router via the router firmware upgrade page To Upgrade go to tendawifi.com or tendawifi.com/main.html or 192.168.0.1 ( only if your Local Default IP Is ), enter your Router login Password ( If you don't know, you can always reset it by holding the reset button on the router with a paperclip for 15 seconds, just check your ISP settings, ( I'm Not responsible for its loss) ). Navigate to System Settings --> Firmware Upgrade --> Local Upgrade --> Select File which you downloaded. Note - Always Use LAN Cable to upload firmware to the router for router safety reasons. Caution - Do not manually restart/unplug router while upgrading. Nor turn off your computer/laptop. ( Power Blackouts may turn it into crap ). It takes around 120 seconds or 2 minutes for an upgrade. Not tested with AC10U ( The one with USB Port, will most probably work on it too, but use at your risk ) To Check MD5 / SHA1 / SHA256 - click here - OnlineMD5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Size - 6,371,412 Bytes MD5 - Unzipped file - DF5CAEA9F87BAEF71621BF37307465FC SHA1 - Unzipped File - 47285E5C7BB597C764AE4C381E777D92EF12DA5F SHA256 - Unzipped File - 6C7114C2B9E05EB184AA5F61E9E49BA7851F63287E147991D176AEC452B0F7A8 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Size - 6,366,052 Bytes MD5 - Zipped file - D9D5C121EE256F6C02D118F096619A2E SHA1 - Zipped File - E25D6419BC3EAC320C6A22E3863A66C507A287B0 SHA256 - Zipped File - B9E22F2827F34BF9B0B3BE1D21BC52CE8EFBF33FA8CE1FFB32B46052FC8E2318 US_AC10V1.0_V15_03_06.46_multi_TRU.BIN US_AC10V1.0_V15_03_06.46_multi_TRU.zip

So, my mom is coming from the US, where she lives, to India, where I live. I am transporting a: Ryzen 5 3600 RX 5600XT 16GB of TForce Vulcan RAM A WD 1TB HDD and AsRock B550M motherboard I am buying the PSU, Case and SSD in my own country. I already am going for this build, but it is being transported on an international flight all the way to India, and my mom is not really knowledgeable on computers, so I would love some recommendations or maybe something I should buy in my own country, so that all my parts come safe and sound, without being confiscated accidentally by the TSA. I know how to handle customs here, that is not a problem for me, but I am scared about the TSA confiscating my GPU, which would be devastating financially. How do you all handle the TSA, and what all data do I need to give my mom?

Budget (including currency): 60000₹(INR) Country: India(Mumbai) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Video/photo Editing, 1080p Gaming. Other details: I am building this PC to play some games and content creation like video editing. Prices for computer parts are rising quickly here so I want to buy as quickly as possible (this week). Here is the parts I have chosen: RAM: XPG ADATA GAMMIX D30 DDR4 8GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz U-DIMM Desktop Memory CL16 PSU: Corsair CX500 Motherboard : Gigabyte B550M DS3H or Asrock B550M pro4 or Gigabyte B550M Aorus Pro Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Graphic: NVidia 1650 Super HDD: WD blue 2TB 7200RPM SSD: Kingston 500GB A2000 M.2 2280 Nvme Internal SSD Cabinet : Ant Esports ICE-300TG Wifi: TPlink 300M TL-WN881ND I can't seem to decide which B550 motherboard to go with. I also want recommendations about graphics card, ram and power supply. I intend to upgrade my ram to 32gb. So I am thinking how much the performance hit would be if I buy only single 16gb stick? Should I go for higher MHz than 3200? Which graphics card would be better for gaming? Here are some options I have considered in my budget range : Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER OC 4G Graphic Card GV-N165SOC-4GD Gigabyte Radeon RX 5500 XT OC 4G 4GB GDDR6 Graphic Card GV-R55XTOC-4GD Gigabyte Radeon RX 5500 XT OC 8G 8GB GDDR6 Gaming Graphic Card GV-R55XTOC-8GD MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 8G OC Graphic Card Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 GAMING 8G MI 8GB GDDR5 Graphic Card GV-RX580GAMING-8GD-MI Power supply requirements seems to be less than 500W for this build so want some recommendations for power supply in that range. CX 500 probably won't be available in stores so I want some alternative. Also please recommended some other cabinets. Feel free to comment on the build.

Hey, guys! I have been using a Zotac GTX 970 since the past 4 years and I'm looking to upgrade, what with the next gen Nvidia RTXs around the corner. I would like to know what are some of the best GPU OEMs in India according to you guys. I don't have a problem with Zotac per se, the 970 has been running like a charm with no issues whatsoever. However, I wish to know if there are better options out there especially when it comes to build quality and the RMA process (Price is not an issue).

Hey, everyone so as we all know new gen consoles are going to release in next few months, but the thing I'm a more of PC guy then a console one. But then there's an issue with building a good gaming PC in India, its the costing of all the CPU parts that you have to buy and they are not cheap, not cheap at all. the PS5 and XBOX series X are rumored to be around 60,000 Rs. Max (1,000 CAD). You need to pay extra 30,000 Rs which makes the total of 90,000 Rs (1,600 CAD) just to get your hands on GTX 1080 8 GB graphics cards. That's how much costly it is to build a decent gaming system in India. So my question is, is there any way I can make a decent system in 60,000 Rs or should I go for consoles. Also, keep this in mind that I have a 4K TV at home and I will be using it to play games on that screen.

Gtx 980 vs Gtx 1080 | | Used graphic cards in India.
dragondonut123 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I’m upgrading my pc in India but don’t want to buy new hardware due to money restrictions. Current specs: Intel i7 7700 GTX 1050ti 16gb 2666mhz RAM I was looking for used GPUs and found an ASUS strix OC GTX 980 for 9,500 INR (~125 USD) in great condition. Price wise it’s the best deal on the market right now but I’m really confused about it handling modern titles and being future proof. The games I’m looking to play are: Call of duty: Cold War Fortnite Cyberpunk 2077 Light open world games like GTA V All games on 1080p My other option is a used GTX 1080 for more than twice the price (~ 300 USD ) Also, I can’t buy new hardware because the price In India is so high. For example: The new RTX 3070 is launching in India for almost $700! Is it worth spending more money for the 1080 or to buy the 980 and upgrade the cpu and motherboard instead? I can also buy the 980 now and when I have access to more money later, buy a used 2070 or the 3070 If it’s cheaper then. Side note: I also want to get into VR this year, so VR support is also pretty important. Any advice is appreciated!- 4 replies
