Summary Indian minister of Consumer Affairs (Govt. Of India), Mr. Piyush Goyal, launched the Right to Repair Consumer portal. All companies selling goods in India will have to upload details like service manuals, links to space parts, etc. On this portal. The link is: https://www.righttorepairindia.in/ Quotes My thoughts This portal will also serve as a mechanism to register complaints against device manufacturers. It will also be a great tool for those living outside India, helping them access service manuals, guides, etc. It has just launched, so compliance might take a while. But I am glad to see more countries taking the direction of right to repair. I have absolutely 0 knowledge about keys but I've only used reds which I liked. It'll be great if someone from India could provide me with links to buy after the lockdown is over. Thanks in advanced

I've been using CloudFlare's DNS service for the last year, and it's been good. But for the last 2 days, DuckDuckGo has been down here in India. Reports on news sites say that it's not their problem, and Indian ISP's are responsible for this. But also they said it's working if you're using CloudFlare. But it is still down for me. I checked my router settings, Windows network settings and Ubuntu network settings and still can't connect to DuckDuckGo. But when I tried changing the provider hostname in "Private DNS" setting on my Android device to "1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com" and it works. Even the blocked torrenting sites are working on my phone after this. Question 1: How is this "Private DNS" setting different from the normal DNS setting on other devices or the router? Is it some sort of VPN? I even tried some DNS leak test on browserleaks.com, it says it is CloudFlare but it isn't connecting to DDG. Question 2: Is there any way I can set up 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com in my device settings (Windows/Ubuntu/Router) just like on Android? Or is the problem with my ISP? Additional info if you need it: Router: TL-WR841N, ISP: ACT Fibernet

Budget (including currency): 1000 Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: My previous laptop is at the point of dying so i need a new Pc and during this lockdown i start working on two different jobs so i could save some money and i did around 76000 Rs which in US currency is 1000$. I have bought a 60Hz monitor and keyboard, mouse, and headphone(i bought these things before lockdown started). I usually play games like CSGO, Pubg, Apex, witcher 3, and fortnite and use software like photoshop. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i already have a Samsung 60hz monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headphone but i gonna buy a 144hz one in a month and i am gonna buy all these items in the next week or 2.

I am planning to build my very first PC (I have had bought PC's before but never built one). I am a hobbyist photographer and plan to use my rig for both Photoshop/Lightroom and light to moderate gaming. Aesthetics are a big factor for me, so I would like to stay consistent with a White-Black build. (Lightroom and Photoshop do utilize multithreading, but at high diminishing returns. But many threads does reduce the final rendering times significantly.) It is important to note that as I am living in India, the price of goods is significantly higher than USA (Around 20-30% roughly) The parts I decided are as follows: https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/f886d6 Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 ₹16579 (USD 256) Motherboard: MSI B350 Tomhawk Artic AM4 Ram: Corsair Vengance DDR4 16 GB 8x2 GB kit Graphics card: Gigabyte Radeon RX480 8GB (Reference) :Getting MB, Ram and Graphics Card shipped from USA for ₹37254 (USD 576) Storage: 120GB SSD Sandisk (Boot Drive) ₹3811 (USD 60) Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 2TB HDD ₹6100 (USD 90) Case: Deepcool Dukase V2 ₹5000 (USD 77.50) Power Supply: Circle Gaming RAW power 550W Semi Modular 80 Plus Bronze ₹4300 (USD 66) TOTAL: ₹73044 (USD 1131) A few answers to questions that will be definitely asked: Why Radeon RX480 Reference card, when there are better performing aftermarket boards, or even the new RX580 which is cheaper? I plan to water cool this system in the near future (Assume less than 2 months), and finding aftermarket card's cooler will be hard. What is this Circle power supply? Never heard of the brand... Circle is an Indian brand. Their PSUs are trustworthy and 80+ certified. Here's a link to this particular one: http://www.circlect.com/gaming-accessories/raw-power.html (Btw, price on Amazon India is cheaper than their official website) Why am I not buying all parts from USA and getting them shipped? CPU: Pin damage could be a problem. Storage, SSD, etc. :The price difference isn't much (Less than INR 600 or USD 10) Did you just say watercooling? But why would you watercool this rig when you can spend that money on something else? I am not watercooling just for performance but for the looks. And watercooling will come in about 2 months and I need CPU as fast as possible... I would love to know your sugessions on what can I change. I would also like to know can my PSU handle watercooling or shall i move to a 650W one? EVGA, CM, etc power supplies are too expensive here in India (Around twice the cost) so they are not an option. The monitor I am thinking to go along with it has freesync support. Though that's not the main reason I am buying it (The 99% SRGB is), I would like to utilize that feature and go with an AMD card. If your opinion differs on this, please let me know, and as I have never done in depth benifits of FreeSync/G-Sync, i have no idea how important it is. (Note: I can not put all parts on PCpartpicker are some of them are missing from their website)

Hello Team, I am building a PC for the first time and I wanted your opinion and suggestions for the build. I am from Bangalore, India and I have to say that the prices in India are way expensive. (For the Bangalore users, the prices mentioned are averaged from SP Road) ---------------------------------------------------------- Component Component Name Average price INR Average Price USD CPU Intel Pentium G4560 4,500.00 67.50 Cooler Stock - - Motherboard H110 4,200.00 63.00 Memory 8 GB DDR4 2133 3,800.00 57.00 SSD 120 GB SSD 3,700.00 55.50 HDD Storage 2 TB 7200 4,800.00 72.00 Video Card Zotac GTX 1060 3 GB Mini 15,500.00 232.50 Case Corsair Air 240 7,800.00 117.00 Power Supply 450 W 2,400.00 36.00 Monitor Dell S2216 IPS 8,300.00 124.50 RGB Generic 1,000.00 15.00 Total 56,000.00 840.00 --------------------------------------------------------- My intention is to use for Gaming (not hardcore but stuff like Tomb raider, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Action adventure stuff) and photo editing. Not sure if this build can be used for video editing (like making some basic videos on youtube). I will be using some basic editing software. Also, recommend a Basic but good backlit keyboard. Prefer to have a non-mechanical keyboard. Thanks, Sid

Please help me decide what to upgrade to. My RX470 reference is throttling while playing Andromeda, Watch Dogs 2 on High settings. I am from India, my budget is 20,500 INR (Max!) I am stumped by a few factors. 3gb 1060, high price of 6gb 1060. Amd Vega price/release date delay in this price segment or near. Plus to make things worse Govt. is adding GST extra taxation that will make PC things even costlier in India, or so I've been told. As if they weren't costly enough to begin with. My initial thoughts were gtx 1060 6gb/rx 580 4gb. Gtx 1060 is slowly edging out of range (price/availability of 6gb version). If I hold out things might get even worse because of a new tax system for desktops. Fellow countrymen are welcome to suggest also (online shops etc. for a good deal)

With our new Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi, a lot of efforts were done to increase foreign investments, which eventually led to Apple and Foxconn to open a Manufacturing plant in India, which currently is being said to be est. in Bengaluru(Bangalore), Karnataka. Which is a obvious enough move as it's the Silicon City of India. Articles confirming - https://www.forbes.com/forbes/welcome/?toURL=https://www.forbes.com/sites/jaysomaney/2017/02/02/apples-manufacturing-plant-in-india-is-a-go/&refURL=https://www.google.co.in/&referrer=https://www.google.co.in/ http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/its-official-apple-will-make-iphones-in-india-at-bengaluru-facility/articleshow/56944302.cms With this, what I think is that prices of Apple products not only in India, but (highly unlikely) everywhere would decrease because India has really cheap labor and at great quality, you'd have to admit that Indians are great are tech. They might also get really cheap manufacturing here. And they'd be having partnership with Central and State government which would also help them a lot. What's your thoughts on this? Maybe they step up the game against Samsung with this?

So to begin, I am looking to buy a new laptop from the USA and get it to India via a relative. Anyone have any idea on things I'd need to know? Or someone who's done this overseas thing before? Preferably India? Also this is the laptop I've currently picked out. Comments and recommendations on an alternative(if one) will be appreciated. HERE

So, today the government of India banned BS3 grade fuel in the whole nation and the registration of BS3 vehicles, making BS3 grade vehicle sellers to sell those vehicles at heavy discounts. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/auto/miscellaneous/supreme-court-bans-sale-of-bs-iii-vehicles-from-april-1/articleshow/57891089.cms Here you can get info about it. The main question is, I have a BS3 grade vehicle, will I be able to use it with BS4 fuel, will there be any consequences ? and most importantly, I could not understand what BS is? This may be only for Indian members only..

So im about to join college from 12 and was wondering which laptop to buy. I narrowed my list down to two which are the HP Pavilion - 15-au624tx costs - 62k indian rupees or $966 http://www.hpshopping.in/hp_pavilion_-_15-au624tx and IDEAPAD 520 I5 LAPTOP costs- 63k inr or $982 https://www.shoplenovo.co.in/lenovo-laptops/ideapad-laptops/lenovo-ideapad-i5-520-laptop-80yl00r8in.html?IPromoID=LEN171200#hot-deal-offer ya after seeing the specs ur probably going to wonder wtf are these laptops priced so high , well thats bcz im in India and i dont know why dont laptops be priced good here! anyway i require it to be able to code efficiently cz iam about to begin my bachelors in computer science engineering . also i want to be able to play gta 5 , use adobe photoshop and after effects on it. These both are similarly priced but the hp has less ram and screen flickering problem . ideapad 520 comes with support for intel optane too and as my main drive is gonna be a shitty hdd ,so optane is the way to go! Considering price ,specs ,design and brand which of these would u guys suggest me to go for ?

Hi guys, I am looking to purchase a new laptop to take to university. My use cases: 1. A laptop on which I can do light to moderate gaming and can play AAA titles. since my current laptop is 5 year old which doesn't have a gpu I have hard time running any modern titles. 2. I will mostly be starting with deep learning so I want a laptop where I can run linux on a partition or VM or use the new linux kernel update on win 10. I would need the laptop to get started on running neural nets and train deep learning models and do computer vision work as well as for prototyping etc. Also do projects and solve kaggle challenges. For much heavier workloads like for example programming for my masters thesis and kaggle challenges with very large datasets etc I can use the university labs or rent a cloud. 3. I have limited budget of 1 lakh Rs (~1500 US $) and my purchase is restricted to availability. 4. I want to use the laptop for at least 4-5 years before I get the next one or until I build a pc myself. I am confused between these laptops I shortlisted below .Please help me out with the decision. If you have any better alternatives please suggest. A. HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-dk0051tx https://store.hp.com/in-en/default/laptops-tablets/hp-gaming-pavilion-15-dk0051tx-7lg82pa.html price: 1,05,989 rs Intel® Core™ i7-9750H (2.6 GHz base frequency, up to 4.5 GHz base with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 12 MB cache, 6 cores) Intel® HM370 12 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 8 GB) 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD + 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA GTX 1650 4 GB DDR5 150 W power adapter , 3 cell 52.5 Wh li-ion battery I was set on this one, only things that bother me is the build quality, since the screen is single hinged on the center and I feel that it may break down due to rough handling down the line, the ultraviolet backlit keyboard is not a deal breaker but I dont like it and I would have prefered a gtx 1660 card but it is out of my budget. B. OMEN by HP 15-dc1093tx https://store.hp.com/in-en/default/laptops-tablets/omen-by-hp-15-dc1093tx-7nm78pa.html price: 92,195 Rs Intel® Core™ i7 9750H Processor (2.6 GHz base frequency, up to 4.5 GHz base with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 12 MB cache, 6 cores) Intel® HM370 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD + 1TB 7200 rpm SATA HDD NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 Graphics (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated) 150 W AC power adapter, 3-cell, 52 Wh Li-ion prismatic PRO This ones cheaper by ~13,000 Rs. (price of an budget smartphone) omen is a much more premium brand than pavillion build quality looks better I like this backlight config better CON Less Ram ( It can be upgraded after purchase, but I have no idea if its economical to do that and will it affect the performance?) less SSD storage No idea on whether the display is 144HZ like the pavilions since it is not mentioned. No 1660 either.

So, I have Msi X99s Gaming 7 and i7 5820K. They are almost 4 years old. I am planning on upgrading my setup to RTX 2070 and adding 32gb quad Channel 8GbX4 kit. Here are the problems: 1- Is 5820K still good? I can overclock it to 4 Ghz. 2- Bottleneck isuue? 3- Cannot find single quad Channel kit in Indian Market. Not even 4x4gb So, Any suggestions? For Ram. -Going for two Dual Channel kits good idea? -Four individual sticks same make model? Importing Ram Kit via NewEgg? Warranty Issue? -Or stick to Dual Channel Kit? 32gb. For CPU and Mainboard I am planing on upgrading in 2 phases. Will change Mainboard and CPU later in a month or two. Reason being upcoming AMD 3000 and budget issue. Cause if AMD’s upcoming CPUs are useless than sticking to Intel will be really costly. About $1000 for CPU and Motherboard will be required here. Do I really need Upgrade? PC is basically for Gaming.

i bought a galaxy s8 (SM-G950n) from south korea. But here, in india, i can't use voLTE. i can use LTE and other band at ease except voLTE. Then googled and found that indian csc code installation may help. But the problem is that the phone i have is single sim and the indian model has dual sim. If i flash the indian stock rom will it brick? If it bricks i can't gp back to south korea to resolve that. i contacted the korean samsung service but their help didn't work.Give me a strong solution.
