I've encountered a weird problem when trying to connect a LG 29UM58 ultrawide monitor. So here's the situation : I'm using a HP Elitedesk 2 with a i5-6500 CPU and no GPU. Which means I'm using the integrated Intel® HD Graphics 530. (2 Displayports connections) As a monitor I recently got the LG 29UM58 to test if it fits my needs and ditch those two 10 year old 19" HP monitors. (2 Hdmi connections) So, with the two connections being different, I took a DP to HDMI adaptercable but I wasn't able to use the 2560x1080 resolution. Not even with forcing the 2560x1080 trough the Intel Graphic Panel. I tried a lot of different variations with interlaced on/off and also the frequency (always below 30. everything above would'nt even be accepted by the progam). But I always got a black screen with the message : Out of Range... Next thing I tried, was updating the intel graphic drivers. So I started by uninstalling it, and suddenly the resolution adapted itself to the 2560x1080. Suprisded,I thought it must be a driver problem, but I was wrong. I tried the newest and not so new drivers and impossible to get that sweet ultrawide resolution with the drivers installed. How is this even possible? It doesn't sound very logic to me ... Maybe one of you guys knows the answer Thank you in advance, and sorry for my chaotic english.

My desktop has a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and since my Intel GPU is not being used at all, is it possible to use my iGPU for virtualization? I'm planning on setting up a Windows 10 VM using QEMU (or using my already-setup Windows 10 VM in VirtualBox).

Hi everyone. I accidentally disabled the integrated Intel graphics on my laptop from the bios when trying to set the dGPU as the main graphics card used by the system. The laptop is a Sony VAIO VPCSE (also known as PCG-41412L) and the motherboard model is MBX-237 (Rev 1.2). I remember setting the Integrated GPU to Disabled in a Display settings menu then setting the Primary Display to PEG. After that, I saved the changes then rebooted the laptop. Since then, it shows nothing on screen, the monitor isn't even on. When I turn on the laptop, the LED are on, the fan is spinning a bit but there is no display and it turns off a few seconds later. I've tried some solutions but no success so far: Removed the battery, unplugged AC, pressed power button for 50sec Powering the laptop without battery Removing the CD DVD drive Removing HDD Removing one stick of RAM (the other one is soldered on the board) Removing the CMOS battery then powering the PC without it Removing the CMOS battery then pressing the power button for 50s Replugging the CMOS battery after 40min Is it possible that changing those settings in the BIOS could have fried something ? Or maybe removing the CMOS battery isn't enough to reset the BIOS (I checked for a jumper but I didn't find one). I also mention that the CMOS battery isn't a regular watch battery (it is but not directly). It is known as ML1220-M3. Here is a picture of it: http://www.primelec.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/m/l/ml1220-m3-pic1.jpg All I did was unplugging the cable from the motherboard. Any suggestion ? Thank you in advance.

So basically since my dGpu died, I'm stuck with my iGpu which is the intel hd 4400 which isnt even that bad considering it's kinda old and integrated. But I've encountered an issue with it. The games run terrible, like league gets barely 30fps on 720p all low, performance mode set in both windows and drivers. In some games it's even worse than my t5500 and gma 945 laptop. Reinstalled drivers, put new drivers, modded drivers, messed with it in bios changing vram, setting default display device. Same, I tried it with DDU, same. Cpu isn't throttling, neither is the iGPU. Windows is like 2 weeks old, maybe even less.

By asking this question I am assuming that new systems don't work or show any output from the googling I did. I was just looking for PC parts and the parts I picked are CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard: ASRock B450M Steel Legend and was wondering if I can use it without dedicated GPU because I don't have money for good GPU but I don't want to buy an APU just to change it later. Old systems I had with Pentium 4 and Athlon something of that era worked fine and assumed that all systems work even without GPU. Now I don't understand why modern systems do not work. Is it because the video ports linked or interfaced with iGPU instead of processor or something. If so then are there motherboards with display ports for both CPU and iGPU?

Hello, I have a ROG GL503GE. It's been dual booted to Windows 10 with Manjaro Gnome. It's display refresh rate can be changed to two modes: 60Hz or 120Hz in Linux, but is locked to 120Hz in Windows. Is there any tweak to force change the refresh rate to 60Hz. Or atleast limit iGPU rendering framerate to 60fps. Thanks for the help.

Hey guys so i Recently build a Ryzen 5 2400g Based Computer (pic related), to a friend that wanted to use 2 monitors, 1 Vga monitor and an hdmi TV, the monitor will be used for tasks such as office work and other shit while the tv is meant to do the actual couch gaming but the problem lies that with both connected it will only display on the tv and not recognize the monitor at all, the monitor itself works in the Bios with no problem which leads me to believe its a configuration/software related issue, but in the past ive never had this so im unfamilliar we also tried the following A newer 1080 monitor, does not work Newest drivers, and older drivers, did not work going to try a DVI to HDMI cable for the monitor, but we would like it to be solved without spending money safe mode, did not work Specs are as Follow Ryzen 5 2400g 16gb 2666 ddr4 ASRock AB350M PRO4 Adata SX8000 NVME Cooler Master 650 MWE 80+ psu GameFactor GS500 case

Hey all! So since I was going to be "upgrading" to Ryzen I was wondering if you could use the iGPU to stream in OBS and for video acceleration in DaVinci like you can with the iGPU in Intel chips with the QSV codec. Any information would be helpful. In addition.. If it is possible should I get the 2400G or the 2200G?

My problem is that I can not overclock my CPU, no matter how much volt is resumed. I run overclock with AMD master software and after setting the settings, my computer does not come back, which goes out and then I need to reset cmos. Help me before I break my computer

I noticed my laptop (an Asus q504uak) had an m.2 slot, no integrated graphics, and a decent cpu and plenty of memory. So I got an m.2 to pcie adapter on newegg and threw an old gtx750ti on it. And it worked! ...sort of. The laptop will only output from the video outputs on the gpu. Not the built in display. Doesnt even see the monitor anywhere in the system. Ive checked the bios to re-enable intel's integrated graphics but no such option exists in my laptop's bios (and i checked, its the latest version). If anyone has any tips on how to get intel integrated graphics enabled without the option in bios, or even just getting the gpu to detect the built in display any help would be much appreciated. As a side note: when connected to an external display it runs quite well and the laptop keyboard/track pad still function normally. Just the display isnt seen by the system anymore. Thanks!

Hi, Im wondering if theres any way to force my gpu to always be the graphics processor even though im not in a game. I've had to plug my one monitor into the iGpu port on the motherboard but i can notice chrome lacking behind when playing two streams of video at the same time. Ive never had this problem before but since i got a 1080 i lacked an input that i used before. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Is there a way to force my laptop to render everything, as if the IGPU does not exist, then pass the signal through to my integrated graphics? I know Linus did a similar thing on the 'mining GPU for gaming' a while back (P-50 i think), but that was on a desktop, using the motherboard's display adapter. I would like to record my display with OBS, but to do thati have to use intel integrated graphics. I cannot set the settings as high as i would like, because the IGPU gets to 100% usage, and the whole display gets laggy. Is there a way to make windows use only my GTX 1060, and send the output to my laptop display via the IGPU (that's where the laptop display is physically connected)

My laptop has an Intel Core i5-3210m with 8gb of System RAM My computer has an integrated HD 4000 graphics and it also has a discrete AMD Radeon HD 7600m GPU each of them has 2gb VRAM. My computer is an HP Pavilion G6-2276sx It has the latest version of windows and drivers, my problem is why does my system perform minimally in games even though switchable graphics is turned on in the Graphics settings on windows and on the AMD Catalyst Settings? and in addition, my GPU is not accessible entirely. Using GPU UserBenchmarks it said that my discrete GPU was inaccessible. In games, I knew that the Intel Graphics was only working because it is terrible. Is it because my Windows is in UEFI Mode even though my GPU doesn't support UEFI? Or because I just need to replace my drivers with old ones from the manufacturer so it has better compatibility? ( I don't want to change any drivers yet because AMD latest drivers are a pain in the ass to find because my card is relatively old and because its drivers is only available on Windows 8, not 8.1 and that's too old) Or something could be wrong in my settings?

A friend of mine is looking at an entry level workstation for SolidWorks and MasterCAM, and after trying my hardest I convinced him to go desktop for the value. What I've been wondering is whether the iGPU on the 2400G, which you could say is around RX 550 in performance, will run that software. I've looked at Google and found a couple instances of people using the iGPU on their workstations: https://www.thegeekyhippo.com/configurations/workstations/workstation-config1 However, I haven't found anything specific to the software my friend wants. Here at LTT we have experts from basically every field, so I wonder, does anyone have any experience using the APU on SolidWorks or MasterCAM? As usual, thanks for the help!

I thought my stuff was dead a few times through my build. cpu once, so heres some igpu hints for anyone else. - TV/monitor sees the pc/hdmi but no picture 1. Bad hdmi in middle/bent. move the cable around and try another if possible. - it posted once now 00 error -loose cpu power cord. check the connections. - if not 00 but posted then didn't may be loose other that keeps it from powering on. power off the pc, unplug, then pust the connectiond make sure theyre in well. - Just wont post. even tho all components are in, and staying on. . -This part is igpu spasific. - Before you turn the pc on, make sure the monitor is on, and ON the correct source or it wont post. if it nooed to be on to swap to source, well swap to turn off pc then on, and there you go. -I honestly thought my cpu died while building my rig. well it wasn't so hope this helps. oh, abd on thet hdmi bent in middle/cable part, can cause no sound too.

Hi guys, so yesterday i bought a 3400g and built my mini pc. After a clean installation of windows 10 pro 64-bit and all amd chipset and graphics drivers, and slight cpu voltage and memory timing tweaking, i tried stressing cpu and igpu. Cpu cores stably takes all the stress from cpu-z without any problem but when try to stress the igpu with furmark 3D, it gives BSoD after 1 or 2 minutes, EVERY FREAKING TIME, i tried so many voltages even downclocked the igpu a bit, but in vain, still not a stable stress test yet. need help guys. CPU: Ryzen 5 3400g (4150MHz @1.35v) Motherboard : MSI b450 gaming plus Max (with latest bios) Ram: Corsair Vengeane lpx 2x16GB (tCL:14, tRCDWR:14, tRCDRD:14, tRP:14, tRAS:30 @1.42v) ..................by default, XMP settings, they are a 16-16-16-32 kit What am I doing wrong or what should I do? TIA

Hey everyone, First of all, here is my desktop info: Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO/THUNDERBOLT CPU: I7-3770k GPU: GTX 960 Windows 10 pro For about a year I have been using the processor's integrated graphics to drive my Apple Thunderbolt monitor. My motherboard, though a bit outdated by today's standards, is one of the only ones that has a dedicated thunderbolt 2 port to run my apple monitor (it DOES NOT connect to mini-DisplayPort or work with any adapters). Recently my brother gifted me his old GTX 960, but my Apple monitor cannot connect to the card directly since it works with thunderbolt only. I have been looking for a way to use dedicated graphics through the motherboard display outputs with no luck so far. Lucid Virtu was the first option I looked into, but it is now legacy and not supported in Windows 10. The next thing I tried was setting my preferred graphics processor in Nvidia control panel, but the box is not there and I have to be plugged into the graphics card to even open the Nvidia settings. In the Bios I have tried both enabling/disabling IGFX Multi-Monitor and tried setting the primary display to both iGPU and PCI-E. The settings did not change anything within windows in any case. I tried to follow Linus's video here to see if i could make it work with windows settings: See the same method here: Aaaaannnnndddd............... Only one GPU shows up at a time. When I have my thunderbolt monitor plugged into the motherboard, only Intel HD 4000 shows up under Graphics Performance Preferences. When I plugged my TV into the 960, only the 960 shows up. When both are plugged in, the one that shows up depends on the display I use to open graphics settings. Shouldn't I be able to see both GPUs under the settings? Is there something I have missed? I will try to DDU and reinstall drivers and get back to you if that works. In the meantime, let me know if you have any recommendations. -Johnny

SAUCE: https://www.sweclockers.com/nyhet/26778-intel-core-processorer-utan-integrerad-grafikdel-prislistas-hos-nordiska-aterforsaljare This is comming from Sweclockers, a Swedish tech website that has been pretty decent. They got Turing right way way early for one. Original untranslated: Translated by me into english: Cool cool, more chips. Kinda meh as the IGPU has actiually become useful for quite a few things content creation wise so the I7 and I9 only make sense for gamers now but the discounted prices of the Finish retailer would make these chips a good deal IMO. Going to be fun to see if they overclock better or if thats going to be the same. Seeing as Intel can now sell the chips with defective IGPUs the 14nm shortage should eliviate some at least

Hello. Does the Aorus X370 Gaming K5 has no iGPU? Was building my first PC but had to leave it to the builder and couldn't bring hone the complete build because after everything was done, no HDMI signal was available from the MOBO interface. With a discreet GPU installed, it showed BIOS though. Now, i want to know if it will not, at all work without a discreet GPU? Or I just need to buy a one? Also would like to know if it will somehow provie HDMI signal? How? The MoBo BIOS version is currently F22. And, if he iGPUs come with the CPU or MOBO? I have no idea about these. I plan to surely buy a GPU some 5-6 months later but currently I really just can't for the budget. The build - 1800X , aorus X370 gaming K5, TridentZ 8GB 3200, Gigabyte SSD 256GB, Corsair VS550 Watt PSU.
