I've recently been having audio interference/ random audio pops from front panel. I was recommended the Apple USB C to 3.5 mm jack cable, but the issue is still happening even with it. I believe I may need to use my motherboard audio outs, but obviously there's no 3.5 mm jack to use there. Is there a good DAC/ interface (that's not too expensive) to allow me use my earbuds and would also eliminate the audio pop/ crackle? The pop/ crackle seems to only happen during YouTube videos and while streaming shows/ movies. Also only at certain points of a show/movie/video. Please let me know. -
Hello Forum, I've been on an 'audiophile' journey for about 4 years now and I've almost always kept in the lane of on/over-ear headphones such as the Sundara and Meze 99s. Recently I've committed to hitting the gym frequently and I've found myself wanting better, deeper sitting IEMs than my AirPods Pro 2s for better isolation. In the past, I bought Prisma Audio's Azul IEMs (from Dankpods' plug), however... my ear holes are too small and narrow. :( Since they're a limited run model that you can't get anymore (iirc) I plan to find a deserving home for them soon, but I still am looking for decent and smaller fitting IEMs under $350US The primary issue with the Prisma Azul's is the fact that the nozzle itself is too wide, and when you add an eartip to the nozzle, it can become painful to put them in or leave in for extended periods. If it's not painful for them to be in my ear, they will fall/be pushed out within 2 minutes. I've done very little digging but I have looked into Shure IEMs, but given the selection, very mixed reception between models, and just general fear of wasting money I haven't been able to do more than glance at product pages. I definitely prefer a warmer sound signature vs bright, which these Azuls are bright for sure (granted their bass extension is perfectly fine, if not just right, for my tastes). I already have a USB-C DAC/Amp for my phone (THX Onyx) and a Schiit stack at home which I'll also be using with the IEMs, no wireless. The primary things I'm looking for are comfort of the fit, fit retention, and isolation. Retention, given the problem I have with the Azul's, is likely not hard to achieve. If anyone has some good suggestions or know of a video, article, or some kind of source that covers this issue, I'd love to read on it. I've tried looking for people with similar issues as mine with no luck. Thanks

I have a meshify 2 case and a pair of KZ ZSN Pro X. When plugging them into the front panel of the case, the sound is muffled and very distorted unless I rotate the connector into a certain position. I am very confused because any other headphones work fine in that jack, and the KZ themselves work fine whenever plugged into anything else, inlcuding the back of the motherboard. I would love to get an idea of what might be casusing this as it's incredibly annoying. Thanks! -
I recently stumbled across the IEM community on youtube and have been watching a lot of IEM related content over the past week or two. I have gotten interested in getting a solid pair of IEM's for myself because I realized I have never really experienced high quality audio. I also just want to try something new :3 I have seen time and time again that both the Moondrop Aria and Moondrop Starfield are among the best in the sub-$100 price point which is exactly where I'm looking. I just want some advice on what to look for in a good IEM, any IEM's that I should take a look into, and just general audio focused tips. I'm completely new to the audio space and it has really interested me, so I'd love to have any resources where I could learn more and dive a bit deeper. Hello, I have a problem with my IEMS from Truthear which I recently got because my MMX 300 one ear cup just did not work. These are my first IEMS and i have the Sound Blaster X4 where I plug them in. My issue is that they sound very good while hearing music but sound awful in games and when I hear voices over discord maybe it is because it is different from the beyerdynamics but i thought maybe i could change something to make it sound better. I have an equalizer in the Sound Blaster software, potentially that helps, I would love to get some help regarding this matter from someone with more experience in this field. Every help is appreciated. Nils

Hi folks! A couple years ago I bought some KZ ZST IEMs and they were great for $20, but now I think one of them is starting to die. I have a bit more cash now as well, so I'm thinking I could go a little higher quality. My number one priority is a flat frequency response, as these will be used primarily for monitoring live recordings as well as some mixing. Games and listening to music as well, but those are less of a focus. Price range is probably around $100. The Shure SE215s seem like a good bet, but I don't know too much of what's out there. Thoughts?

Hi everyone! I've been using over-ear headphones for a while now, but I can never quite escape the nasty compression headaches I get sometimes from wearing them over my glasses. It's been getting worse for whatever reason recently, so I think it's time to look at IEMs. I'm willing to spend up to $100 US, maybe more but preferably below that. I don't need a built-in mic, sound isolation or any other features, just want comfort and the best possible sound quality. I do some music production and other audio work so I would ideally like them as flat as possible. What are my best options? Thanks guys!

So I've given up finding a pair of over-ear headphones as my head seems incompatible for xyz reasons. My right ear seems to "stick out" a bit more than the left, causing numbness after about an hour although I definitely wouldn't say my ears stick out a lot..., so I've decided to try the IEM route. I'm looking for something relatively neutral under £400 and will be used for mostly pop/edm. Cheers. Over-ears which have failed me in the past few months on my search...:P -Audio-Technica ATH-M50x - Ears become uncomfortable due to pressing against inner walls of headphone. -Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 Ohm (Headband hurts for some reason; sensitive head/scalp?) -Sennheiser HD598C - My most comfortable pair yet; however I'm looking for something more portable as they do not fold and am willing to spend a bit more to get better sound. -Oppo PM-3 - Same issue as M50Xs, specifically my right ear presses up against the inner wall of headphones which becomes very uncomfortable over long periods of time -B&W P7 - Headband uncomfortable/head gets sore..(same as DT770 issue) -Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 - My right ear feels really uncomfortable within the earcup... -Sony MDR-1000x - Right ear hurts/rubs -Sennheiser PXC550 - Right ear hurts/rubs

I'm moving on from my HyperX Clouds (which disappointed me) to either the SE215s or the Momentum "In-Ears" (I say "In-Ears" because I think that they recently received a name change) but it's a lot of trouble to decide between them. First off, the sound. I listen to a wide variety of genres so picking one would be hard but I guess you could say I listen to more "energy boosting" songs... I'll just list a few examples: Alchemy by Mint Potion, a Rhythm and Blues song I'm fond of. Red Like Roses II by Jeff Williams and Reluctant Heroes by Hiroyuki Sawano (Covered by NateWantsToBattle), two, I suppose, rock songs I listen to on a frequent basis. Asgore by Toby Fox (Covered by Lollia), it's an "orchestral arrange"... Neon by Jeff Williams, it's a pretty... smooth song... I should've run a quick crash course on genres... Secondly, the build quality. I really don't care about the best kind of comfort, I'm sure both IEMs are reasonably comfortable to keep wearing for hours but what I'm really concerned about is the durability. Sure, the SE215s have detachable cables but I'm not in the luxurious position to order replacements in case they break. Which is the IEM that can survive a beatdown from an average person for more than 2 years That would be all, just wanna say this again: I really didn't like the HyperX Clouds, they're a wasted investment for me, it was most probably due to the lack of an AMP from my side but I'm the kind of guy who listens to music on his phone as well as his laptop, not just his desktop. Carrying an AMP around shouldn't have to be the way to roll when I want to listen to music. So all in all or... TL;DR: Should I buy the Shure SE215s or Sennheiser Momentum "In-Ears"

Having a lot of trouble finding out what's gonna be better for me. The 1MORE Triple Drivers or the RHA MA750s. I'm mostly a Rock, House, "Vevo Songs That Get Really Popular (Closer)" listener. I'd also like the ask if I need an AMP for the 1MOREs since they have almost double the impedance of the RHAs (32 and 16, respectively), I'm going to be listening to music on my old iPhone 4 for reference.

About a year later after buying and being disappointed with the HyperX Clouds I've decided to buy some good earbuds/IEMs. I'm currently leaning towards the Shure SE215s but I've heard that RHA has an offering for around the same price of $100. I listen to Rock, Jazz, House, Rhythm and Blues, Electro Swing and Metal. So yeah, what's the best I can get?

So I need either new headphones or earbuds for my desk setup. I go out after I game a lot so headphones leave a "dent" in my hair that is always a pain to fix before I'm rushing out of the house after a league game that went long lol. I don't like wearing earbuds for a long time but the quality for the price on both types differ. I'm not exactly sure what are good IEMs and headphones but I need some help deciding what I want to get. Anyone had this same problem and had a good compromise? And I'm not sure what are good buys? price range around $40

I've had this happen so many times with lower end earbuds. Why is it that the left one always dies first, seemingly for no reason? Furthermore, is it something I can fix?

Hello everybody, Currently i got very cheaply the Meizu EP 52. Owned them for about 1,5 years. I mostly listen to Audible audiobooks for 8+h a day, and i wear the earbuds constantly around the neck. Recently the right earphone got really quite and it's time to change. I'm looking for something better but the choice is vast, need some help in choosing. Hopefully you can help! Of the EP52 i like the battery life, how they wear around the neck, and that they seem water resistant. Don't particularly like how they sound but as i never owned something better I can't compare. Had some Jaybird X3 before for a while, rubbish battery life, i went trough few tips as they would just fall off the earphones, and lastly the non-usb charging was a pain. Also i get annoyed quite a bit constantly loosing the silicon tips with the EP 52. So I'm looking for better sound overall, long battery life, confortable to wear all day, possibly water resistant, with resilient tips and with a microphone. Budget is possibly $300 max $500 for something that hits all the points. Thanks!

Hi everyone..i have ordered a cheap IEM the Z3S from KZ..its sounds decent except the high is kinda murdering my ear but for the price you can't really complain. So my marshall mode is still in long term borrow by my friend *sigh The Z3S just not enough for me, so i am thinking about buying a new IEM.. Which brings me to this confusion..while i really like the sounds of the Mode i haven't use it for a long time now and it was a gift. I only like use it for 2 months and then my friend borrowed it till today...i've read the reviews on Amazon about the Mode and its seems like people are complaining about the build quality of it. You know.... like the driver stopped working and all of that...i am kinda worried about it because i won't be able to get a new one until the next year or my birthday. The mode didn't have a detachable cable unlike the T2 but i never heard of Tin audio even though it seems popular enough on the internet.. The problem is..the Mode is on sale %50 OFF for $40 in here and the T2 cost about the same...i am in dilemma here guys.. What should i do? please help..

Hi guys So I have had some trouble with gaming headsets. The only ones that I've found to be comfortable were the Logitech G430s, but mine broke a while back, so I bought some Cloud IIs, which after about 2 minutes hurt my ears quite badly, so I returned those and got Corsair HS60, which, for some reason hurt my ears a little bit which I was OK with but it also really hurt my head no matter how I wore them. I have always prefered IEMs in terms of comfort. Are there any IEMs that are reasonably cheap and sturdy that sound better than G430s? Preferably with a decent microphone. If not, what would be a good cheap microphone for discord? Also, I don't have any speakers on my PC right now and my monitor doesn't have them built in so I was also wondering if there are decent VERY cheap speakers for pc (under 15 euros) Sorry for the long post. I'm a complete audio noob and just want decent sound in and out of my computer. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I recently bought these IEM's and so far they've impressed me, I saw reviews and got suggestions to buy these so I did, I didn't expect them to sound good due to them being only $13 but I was surprised. Only major drawback I found that these have is white noise, it only starts when I play something with audio and once the audio has stopped playing the white noise will stop after 5 seconds of there being no audio, is there a cheaper way to eliminate the white noise without spending $30 on an adapter which would end up costing more than the IEM's themselves?

So I got the Fender CXA1 In-Ear-Monitor on sale for 34€ from Thomann, the highs are good and mids also decent, but they just sound like tin cans, the bass is undefined and just not there. And the sound just seems so weird and bad. If someone has had experience with these iems please tell me about it. There's basically nothing on the internet about them and maybe there's a reason for that. I was coming from the Superlux HD-681 Evo, which by comparison have bad mids and weird highs, but the bass is so good and defined and the sound stage is huge, but that's something to expect from semi open headphones. To me there's just no enjoyment on these fender iems, again they sound like tin cans.

Hi all, I just got a pair of KZ ZST IEMs and I am very impressed with how good they sound for only $20. However, I've noticed that when I use them with anything but my phone that there is quite a bit of static noise. I have tried using it with my LG G6 phone, Scarlett solo headphone out, teac ai101da headphone amp, and fiio e17k headphone amp. All the external amps have built in dacs. On my Teac it sounds more like a ground loop buzzing than static. I have tried my HD 6XX with all of these sources as well as my NHT superzero speakers and they do not have the same issue. At first I thought it might be that the impedance might be too high on my external sources (the LG G6 phone doesnt have the static problem) but that can't be true since the fiio e17k has an impedance of only 1.1ohms and the impedance on the KZ ZST IEMs is 10ohms. Anyone know what the problem is?

I know it's a bit much to ask for under 100 bucks but what are some budget IEMs that have decent to good soundstage and imaging? Sound quality is also important of course.

So I wanted to jump on the KZ hype-train several months ago and I can't help it, I feel let-down. The hype on Head-fi is unbelievable, with folks saying something like "I have this really expensive earphone, but I end up using my KZs more often". So I ordered several pairs over the year: - KZ ED9. Super fatiguing with boomy bass, recessed mids and screaming treble. The overall sound is very thin and hollow. - KZ ED7. Pretty darn good. Warmish sound with forward mids, rolled off treble and light bass. It sounds pretty balanced, some may say dull. I like these. - KZ ATE. Fun punchy bass, recessed mids and weird treble that sounds sibilant. Not the worst thing out there, but the sibilance is really annoying. - KZ ZSE. Warm sound signature which I like. Sloppy bass that bleeds into the mids. Soft treble with some sibilance, but not as bad as ATE. Mids are strangely forward. Sounds kinda congested. Gets overwhelmed with busy songs. - KZ ZS5 (V2). Wow! These things have a lot of detail! The bass is punchy and fast, the mids are slightly recessed but not annoyingly so. However, too much treble! Sibilance. Sounds kinda thin, but not as bad as the ED9. Excluding the ED7 which sounds pretty darn good, I wouldn't recommend any of the KZ earphones I tried because of sibilance/piercing treble problems. The mids are kinda recessed and unnatural as well. What do you think of KZ?

So i have decided to make a little thread where I share my findings, and you can comment. It is informative, i decided because there is not much ( or at all ) debate about hearing safety, some people dont know, some people dont care. And some people would ignore it even if you told them. Please dont. Disclamer: I am not audio professional. Nor did I dug deep, read scientific papers or made my own tests. I just care and my own user experience that lead me to it and now i am spreading the info to you so you can research. Or just throw the info out of the window... its up to you. What we know for sure for better hearing safety: - Lower volume is always better, as low as possible for you to hear - Passive isolation of headphones blocks outside noise so you dont need to raise volume - Its good to quiet down computer / environment, so you dont need to raise volume as well. Listening to your music on the busy street, train, loud environment is a bad idea. - Time spent on high volume has to be decreased Even if you just follow those points, you made a favor to your ears and you can continue life as usual. But there is more. First point are In Ear Monitors. People recommend them and say they are safe because they seal well and you can play them at very low volume. Thus reducing pressure / decibels. Just because of that seal, in ear canal it creates pressure. It can create pneumatic pressure that can reach dangerous levels, compared to sounds rated 120db. Safe levels are considered lower than 85db for 8 hours. The ear drum also moves in and out because of the seal. There are efforts made by professionals to remove this effect either by opening the seal so no pressure can occur ( or is lessened) or making a separate "bubble" that "takes the blow". But solutions arent cheap and not well known either. People care more about sound and price theese days.

So I currently have Skullcandy hesh 2 headphones and Skullcandy inkd 2 iems (both were gifts to me) but I want better earbuds for using at school that aren't too expensive but have a decent bass. What are you suggestions
