So I'm not sure where to start... I was one of the few people to get a 3070 early on and hyped as anyone would be but after installing it in my PC, updating drivers, the BIOS, etc. I noticed that I was constantly hitting 100% CPU usage in basically any game (Rainbow 6, MW, Warzone, AC: Odyssey, and others) which I don't remember happening before and I can't seem to find a solution besides "reinstall windows" that I haven't yet tried. Interestingly when I first ran Benchmarks for it in certain games this was not the case as you can see here. (The first screenshot is with my old 1080 still in use and the second one with the 3070 installed.) Another issue that occured after installing the 3070 was that running first tests in most games like CSGO, Siege etc. I had an insane increase in FPS (CS: from 250ish to 400+, R6: from 230 to 300+, Warzone: from 110-180) but after a day or two I had even worse performance than before in Siege now being around 220-230 FPS, CS hovering just above 300 and Warzone being basically the same as before. No idea why it just changed (maybe Driver updates or Windows updated? Is this just straight up bottlenecking since my CPU can't keep up with my GPU or is it possible that either the 3070 or the I7 is faulty? For my specs: My CPU is the I7 9700k, MoBo is the MSI MPG z390 Gaming Edge, GPU previously was an ASUS GTX 1080, the new one is the RTX 3070 Founders edition, If anyone here might know a solution or have an idea of how to troubleshoot to find out what the problem might be I would highly appreciate it!

1. I recently changed my motherboard from a Gigabyte B360 HD3 to a Asus Rog Strix Z390-E, I had a i79700k in my old board and moved it to my new one. On start up I noticed that my CPU would randomly ramp up to 4.9ghz and back to say 0.8ghz or 1.2ghz rather erratically under low cpu usage % while idling, Is this normal? The images are it sat idling with CPU cooler fans at 100% is this normal? 2. My old board didn't have Intel boost technology 2.0 on it so my CPU would not boost to 4.9ghz or anywhere near due to my old board restrictions and would sit at around 70c/80c usually with my Coolermaster Hyper TX3 Evo . Now my new board does have Intel Boost tech 2.0 and so when playing games like GTA it will boost to 4.9ghz and my cpu temp will also shoot right up to 100c when using the same cooler as before is this normal to see such a high temp on boost and should i change to a better cooler like the NZXT Kraken M22 aio? I think I can solve the cooling issue with a new cooler but I am not too sure about the erratic up and down of my CPU speeds at idle. New PC built 2 months ago: -I7 9700k -Asus ROG Strix 2080 Super -Gigabyte Z390 UD A week ago my PC began to occasionally restart on its own. When it turned back on the main display (Omen X 25f 1080 @240hz) would be in a much lower resolution, sometimes 1024x768, sometimes 800x600. My secondary display (Samsung 1080 @ 60hz) doesn't display anything at all. I can't change the resolution at all and it won't detect the second monitor. I updated drivers and it seemed fine for a couple days but now the problem happens more frequently. All components are brand new. Am I unlucky and have a bad GPU or could it be something else?

Hello everyone! 8 months ago, I built my first PC because I wanted a crazy fast computer. I did lots of research and was able to build it and set it up successfully. However, I am learning that the components I bought have a high potential for overclocking. I want to make sure I overclock properly for safety, stability and longevity of my machine. Here's my hardware and what I've done so far - if there's a better way to overclock, please help me out! Hardware: MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC Intel i7 9700K 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 Corsair H100i Pro Nvidia RTX 2060 Super FE EVGA GQ 750W power supply Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe Drive To overclock, I went into the BOIS and enabled XMP for my memory. I then went to the OC settings and manually made the multiplier "50" for my CPU clock speed on all cores, and I left everything else on auto or default settings. I also left the voltage on auto. I have tested this out by running Cinebench, playing some games, and running the trading software I use. I have not had any crashes and the voltage on CPU-z shows 1.28v at the highest. My temps are higher than before and idle at 30-42 degrees C and will go up to 55 degrees C during benchmarking or games. Is there a better, more efficient way to overclock this CPU? It seems stable, I just do not know if I should manually change the voltage or let the MSI BIOS keep doing its auto thing. The temps seem to be fine based on research as well. Any advice or tips is greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

Hi all i plan on buying a i7 9700k and i new a new motherboard since mine doesn't support 8&9 gen CPU. there is so many option and price range that i dont really know where to look. Here is what i need: case:phantek p300a mesh edition support ATX mobo 4 fan header + 1 cpu fan header no need for water cooling can be rgb for future my gpu is ROG STRIX RTX2070S i got 1x m.2 2280 storage pcie x4 2 sata3 SSD 2x8Gb ram corsair lpx vengeance 3200 MHz cmk16gx4m2b3200c16 730W psu 80+ bronze raidmax I can't seem to find a good motherboard for it. I have 2 fan header+1 cpufan at the moment but i would like to have all my fan on motherboard instead of 2 direct in psu I can't find a motherboard that has egnough drm phase vs. fan header please help me to find a good motherboard

OK so basically I bought a new motherboard, MSI PEG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON and a new cpu i7 9700k. I installed these no problems, but now when I went to boot up my pc, i pressed the power button i was brought to the MSI splash screen and the buffer circle froze, this happens EVERY time i try to turn the pc on. I have tried to boot from a windows USB no luck, I have even taken the pc apart and put it back together again... I have spoken to Microsoft support and they dont know how to fix it and have also tried to contact MSI but have had no response. Really struggling here and starting to fear that my days of gaming are coming to an end :( I have searched every deep dark corner of google trying to find at least one solution to this but have found literally nothing, please help me. I BEG YOU!

Hi I stream and play games on same pc. Pc specs are i5 8400 gtx 1060 6gb, 16 gb ram2400mhz I am planning to buy i79700k I would like to know will it be a good choice? Should I go for CPU upgrade for my gaming and streaming from one PC Will there be a performance boot and will this upgrade help in reducing load of gaming and streaming on my pc? Sup Techies, So, I’m starting my first PC build, and I need some advice before going forward. For context reasons, my pc will be heavily used for 3D modeling, rendering, sculpting, as well as animations. I’m talking blender, maya, zbrush, unity, photoshop, etc. No email checking, or streaming, or 4K editing or anything of the sort. The only gaming I’ll be doing is testing my own, so I guess FPS is important in that respect. Anyway, I’m trying to find the best (and most cost-friendly) CPU. I am between a thread ripper 2920x and an intel i7 9700k. The extra cores in the thread ripper look good for rendering, but it seems the processing power and clock speed of the i7 are better for sculpting and modeling work. I am torn and not sure if either have a leg up that I may have overlooked. I am working my way through this build research by research and every response or piece of information helps. Hi guys, Query for you smarter people. My girlfriend was playing Sims on my computer and it started crashing the computer which required a complete restart as all functionality was lost. I decided to do some digging and discovered that my cpu's idle temperatures ranged between 36° and 83°c, this is without any overclocking at all. And during gameplay (e.g. Sims 4) it is sitting at 75°- 87°c. I am running an ASRock z390 motherboard, EVGA GTX 1080ti, 32gb of g.skill tridentZ ram, and a CoolerMaster 212evo with a noctua P12 fan replacing the standard CoolerMaster one, and a thermaltake 850w 80+gold. I have attempted to remount the cooler and reapplied artic silver 5 compound. I have modified the fan curve to operate at 70% until 80° and then 90-100% from 80°+. Any help is appreciated. I have done a bit of googling already but it seems that most are running an AIO with their i7 9700k and are achieving roughly 20°-35°c at idle. I have also noticed that the CPU usage is incredibly erratic and will show really high CPU usage with very little running. E.g. windows explorer was using 15.9% of my CPU and it was at 66% usage total. Totally stumped as to what is going on. As said above, any help is appreciated!! Cheers Dr-Krieger
