Hello peeps So I bought this pre-built model 400G4PDM/I77700/500HQ/4C/8f , A mouse and a keyboard included from HP this system has: - Intel® Core™ i7-7700 Processor - A western digital 500GB hard-disk - A 180 watt 80+bronze powersupply - 1x 8GB DDR4 2133 Mhz RAM - Intel® HD Graphics 630 that's for the that's for the options part, as for expansion: Ports Front: Universal audio jack with CTIA headset support 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 1 SD 3 card reader (optional) Back: 1 audio out connector 1 DisplayPort™ 1 VGA 4 USB 2.0 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 1 audio in connector 1 RJ-45 1 power connector Expansion slots Turbo Drive (M.2 PCIe) 1 M.2 2230 for wireless NIC PCI Express x16 (v3.0)(wired as a x4) 4.2", full height 6.6" length, 35 W max power PCI Express x16 (v3.0) 4.2" full height, 6.6" length, 75 W max power Upgrades: 1-SSD:(done) For this upgrade I went with the SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 250GB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 plugged it in the previously mentioned PCIE x16 that is (wired as a x4) through an Asus Hyper M.2 PCI-Express x4, and it is working properly as my system bootable, keeping the 500GB hard-disk for storage. 2-GPU With only my 1x (PCI Express x16 (v3.0) 4.2" full height, 6.6" length, 75 W max power) left for expansion, I am choosing to go with a passive cooling GeForce®GTX 1050 Ti KalmX with it's TDP at 75 watts being my built limit, although it is not available for sale right now, I will have to wait to be able to get a hold of one. 3-WiFi I want to add WiFi solution to my PC, just so I can have my computer ready for any kind of requirements although I will be running it via cable when working on it, and Bluetooth can get very handy. I didn't know what network card to choose exactly, just because I don't really have a lot of background knowledge about this matter. 4-RAM To be able to carry any kind of task that I will be putting on this computer I would want to match my stick with another 8 GB of DDR4 RAM to have a total of 16 GB memory running at 2133 Mhz enabling the dual channel bandwidth supposedly increasing performance and Graphics processing performance. Problems: 1-Enough power to run the GPU? With my low wattage powersupply I am really concerned if my PC can run a 1050 ti like the KalmX, and I have no idea how to know, and in-case it can't; is it possible to upgrade the PSU in pre-built PCs??? 2-I can't decide what WiFi adapter to get. I would love to hear reviews or insights about WiFi adapters. (I care about Bluetooth, WiFi range and ping) Cost: 1-HP ProDesk 400G4PDM/I77700/500HQ/4C/8f ------- 660$ 2-Samsung evo 960 250GB + Asus hyper m.2 ------- 180$ ....... These prices are for the marker here in Jordan. So prices may differ drastically. (am pretty sure you can get the ssd and the kit for cheaper than this price) And bro aren't these boot time fast

Hey and Happy New Year! I'm planning to upgrade my i5-10400F to an i7-10700, I was looking for an i9 but I've discovered that my board's VRM isn't that great so an i9 would be out of the question Basically, my main question is would my motherboard throttle the i7 under heavy load? I do not plan to overclock, so I'll probably buy the F or non-F version. I don't want to move to a new motherboard since I believe the i7-10700 is more than capable at what I need it to do, i.e video editing and streaming. If my motherboard can't then I'll probably replace it and go with AMD since they tend to be a bit cheaper nowadays in my country Thanks in advance! I have had my airflow set up like this. The idle temperature is ≈ 40°C. Is this an ideal setup? Can it be improved if I add another fan on top? Specs: i7-13700K with Noctua NH-U12A MSI RTX 3060

So I bought a high-end z790 DDR5 motherboard for cheap a while ago but now it comes down to picking a CPU. Because of deals right now the i7-12700k is $210, KF for $200. On the other hand the i5-13600KF is $250 on sale right now. I was also thinking of buying DDR5 6400 ram for $110, I know the i5 13th would be better for that but is it worth the extra $50? Which one should I get for mostly gaming purposes? EDIT: I use 1440p

Hello, I have an HP Victus 16 with the i7-11800H and RTX 3060. Since I use it for gaming I have my windows 10 power plan on High Performance, both for battery and for when I plug it in, but the frequencies of the processor are very different in both modes. Using HWINFO I noticed that when it's unplugged, it can run at 1 to 2,8ghz depending on the core, yet when I plug it in all the cores inmediately shoot up to 4.X ghz on the exact same workload, sometimes even going to 4.58 ghz which seems to be the max my laptop can do. Is there anything I can do to solve this? I can't play emulators while plugged in, for example, because my temp goes to 95°C-100°C (I had to disable hyperthreading so the max it reaches now is 95°C) but the same emulator runs great on battery power, with temps up to 64°C. Hello! So I have a couple of questions about these 2 processors I have. On the pins of the i5 a very young cousin drew with a black marker and I've tried cleaning it with a brush and alcohol and in the pictures(1 and 2) is the result after cleaning. Do you think I could put this in a motherboard and chances of it working? I got a PC for free and it has an i3 second gen and I don't want to fry up the motherboard or something worse. The i7 has a missing component on the back(capacitor I think but I am not sure) that you can hopefully see in picture 3. Does that prevent it from working? Should I try testing it with the PC I got or maybe I should just avoid it in case it screws with something like the motherboard and kills it? Basically I have these CPUs and I would like to put one of them in to upgrade the PC and sell it for very cheap to someone who doesn't have a PC, but with the i3 is a little slow so I would like to have the i5 or preferably the i7 to boost the performance for home/office use. Hello everyone! So, to introduce my dilemma I believe it's most important to state that I'm using a prebuilt, more specifically, an Alienware Aurora R12 Desktop. As a fair warning, I know nothing about this motherboard except for the fact that it is overclock capable and came from the factory with this setting activated. I have ditched using Dells software, exclusively using it for only fan control (because no other third-party fan control program works). Okay on to the issue at hand, enough precursing. I have been using Intel XTU and learning little by little as I go... The one constant issue I'm facing is that no matter what overclock settings I enter (even factory default), I am consistently getting Current/EDP Limit Throttling almost 100% of the time on load. I understand that my system does run hotter than most (due to the questionable case design) but I have optimized fan control to keep temperatures at a max of 80C-85C even in modern AAA titles like Remnant II. My CPU is able to hit turbo consistently as is, but I imagine there is a lot of performance left on the table here as it has a Max Turbo of 5.00GHz but never been able to get it there or past 4.80GHz... I can only imagine the EDP Limit Throttling is to blame for this. I will attach as much info of my PC Specs and from XTU as possible to aid, please reach out if you need any more information. I would really appreciate if anyone could offer their experience and expertise in order to help me correct what I'm doing wrong here... As well as offer any helpful tips that I can learn along the way! Thank you for taking the time to read this and offering any advice! *As a final note, I have tried using Throttlestop but I'm afraid I'm not educated enough on the topic of overclocking to understand what I'm really doing. Alright i'm going to make a quick resume here with more details further down Basically i am trying to push to get the 5.2GHz on my i7 7700k(Full parts list further) and i would need just that little bit more stability, i can run it stable at 5.1GHz@1.440V and i tried 5.2GHz but it's just not stable even at 1,500V(tried it just to se if it would of been stable, i was able to start cinebench r15 but pc frooze mid test) -------------------------------------- PC Parts List: CPU: i7 7700k delided W/ Liquid Metal under AND over the IHS(because why not, next step is going direct die :p) CPU Cooler: Captain 240 EX W/ 4x 120mm Artic P12 PWM PST Fans Mobo: Asus Prime Z270-A Ram: 32Go DDR4 @2400MHz CL15 Hyper X Fury(with 3x40mm DC Fans) GPU: EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid(come with a 120mm rad and i put liquid metal between the pump and the GPU Die and also 2 other artic P12 Fans) SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 250Go for windows and a Raid 0 of 5xKingston V300 120Go HDD: 2TB 7.2k RPM Seagate Firecuda SSHD using a sata to usb c adapter PSU: Thermaltake Grand toughpower RGB 850Watt Case: Cougar Conquer PCIe adapter: 4xUSB 3.0 to PCIe and Gigabit ethernet to PCIe Monitor: 4 Different monotor, 2 are 1080p one is 1200p and the last one is a random 17" 3:4 screen for my pc stats -------------------------------------- For the Longer and more "Technical" part of the story, Here it is: So i tried to push 5.2GHz for quite a bit of time, i got a better mobo since then and i was able to now run 5.1GHz stable but still not quite enough for the 5.2 i was aiming for. so i don't really know a whole lot about overcloking beside using the frequency multiplier and the Core Voltage, i tried once changing the Block Frequency but didn't got quite far with it so i just dial it back to 100. I have delided my cpu, put liquid metal on the die, i Lap the IHS and put liquid metal between the CPU Pump ans the IHS because i figured why not at this point when i push for the 5.2GHZ. Every single fans in the pc run at 100% and i get quite descent temps, at 5.2GHz@1.500V when i started Cinebench R15 it got up to around 80c-85c MAX Peak and it wasn't getting higher while the benchmark was running before the pc froze. i know it's hot but before i lapped the IHS, changed the motherboard and changed the Fans, i was running 5GHz 1.430V with max peak of arround 75c. i also tried on my z270-A Prime the core per core overlcock and it seams like it's my first and second core that are the worst so this also didn't got me quite further, i was able to run 5.2GHz on 3 core stable at arround 1.480V but i couldn't even get it to 5.3GHz on a single core at the same voltage so i dropped it to synchronise all core at 5.1GHz@1.440V So Here i am, looking for someone who might know a bit more about those others settings in the bios that might get it stable just enough so i would be able to run a 3D mark Firestrike Ultra, a Time Spy extreme, Cinebench R15 and R20(not obligatory in a single boot, it it finish one of them, crash and i can get all of them one by one, i'm fine with it, it's just for the personal goal) If you have More advenced tips for me Please leave them as a comment and i am going to start playing with it

I want to build a sff pc with the Lian Li A4-H2O with a i7 13700k and a 4070. The case only supports up to a 240mm rad, and I've heard the 13700k runs hot. Is a 240mm AIO going to be enough cooling? Part of workload is 3D renders and video editing so it could be under heavy sustained loads a lot.

X13 G1 Yoga I5-10310U 16GB 450usd Lenovo X1 YOGA G3 i7-8650U 16gb 370usd Hi, so I am on a tight budget and looking for a 2-in-1 laptop for university that will last for the next 3 years. After reading about problems with hinges in many models, I am considering these 2 options. My questions are: Performance-wise, is there a huge gap between the i7-8650U and i5-10310U? Which one would you recommend? Are the hinges really durable in these models? Should I save up and buy something with a newer CPU? Do you have any other recommendations? I can stretch my budget to 600 USD if it's really worth it. How they work with linux. Is palm rejection working fine with pen? Does keyboard detach in tablet mode? Why 2-in-1? It's a really convenient option. Being able to switch between using a stylus for handwriting in one class and using the keyboard for note-taking is a deal-breaker for me.

Hello, I build this PC a few months ago, but I notice that the CPU gets extremely hot when rendering in Blender, even though I'm rendering on the GPU. The funny thing is that the CPU load is relatively low (5%-40%). The graphics card performs flawlessly.This even happens when I render an incredibly simple scene like the default cube in Blender. The power consumption of the CPU is limited to 150W! I have had this problem from the beginning and also when I game. My specs: RTX 3070 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF 3.40 GHz 32,0 GB RAM Windows 11 Pro I have already searched a lot on the internet, so I hope someone can help me. Is this air cooler enough or should I go for AIO? I want to build and just leave it instead of doing some maintenance after 5 years which will be necessary with AIO but I don't know if air cooler is enough for i7-13kf 2. My i5 11400H has clocked upto 13,000 Mhz\1 Insane... The CPU turbo's officially to 4.5 yet I have captured it at 13Ghz! It has been captured in CPUID HARDWARE MONITOR. Anyone else got any screenshots of their crazy clocks?

Hi guys, I have an old gaming laptop (Hp Omen 17 w204-nl) wich gpu is pretty broken. I was wnadering if I could use it to host a Minecraft server, or maybe a small nas. The system specs are a Intel Core i-7700HQ, 16gb of ddr4 at 2400Mhz (dual channel) and a semi dead gtx 1070 (bas if you try to ask for gpu power the laptop will just turn off, that's why I'm thinking making it a cpu based server will work). It is also left with only it's hard disk, as I took out the nvme ssd. I am now moving house so the final setup isn't ready yet, but the plan is to connect the laptop via a Ethernet Cat 6 cable to my future router (I am going to buy one of those gamig router) and I will have a 150mb/s connection in the new house. The server will be running bas at all times and I won't use the laptop for anything else, do you think it could work?

I have an i7 7700k with an RTX 2070 right now. I built my pc back in late 2017. I think my pc is still pretty good right now but I've been thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a 40 series card, probably a 4070. I was wondering if I should upgrade my i7 7700k to a newer one like the 12th or 13th gen i7, or wait for 14th gen. If I do get a 4070 will my GPU be bottlenecked by my i7 7th gen ? -

So I have a 7700k, 2 x 8 GB @ 2400 and rx480, I've been wanting to upgrade the GPU, until I realized I need more storage and my ram had made me crash for the last time the other day. So I have some GSKILL neo 2 x 16 3600 in the mail and had just installed a Samsung 980 Pro, only to realize I cant even use the 980 to its full potential from me being stuck on PCIE 3.0. So what do I do? Do I upgrade the CPU now? Do I wait until the gen following AM4 comes out and buy new graphics card for the time being? I can wait on the card, the rx480 gets me by well enough until I can find 3070 for like 300$ (used). So my big memory upgrade is here but cards are sold out right now. Are any of the new processors really worth it? Is ddr5 going to be a thing to wait for in the near future? I like my cities skylines, thats my cpu bottleneck. My GTA takes forever to load, hopefully the faster ram helps but the idea was that the 980 pro would make it faster but... nope. I'm at a loss for what to do. Just need some feedback, no concrete plans.

I currently have a 9th gen Intel i5 processor in my system. The issue is it seems to be bottlenecking my system as in numerous scenarios it does be running at 100%. Is it worth upgrading to brand new i7 or is there other means of reducing the bottleneck?

My CPU corevoltage is always way too high. And even when I set it manually onto generous amounts it is unstable with overclocking speeds that should be totally fine. With CPU Voltage on AUTO: - corevoltage goes over 1.46V without overclocking when just opening browsers sometimes --> Fans go to 100% load (because the CPU produces too much heat) With CPU Voltage on Manual: - corevoltage set to 1.38V causes instability on 4.5Ghz OC: e.g. bluescreens (Others run 4.8GHz stable at 1.36V) - corevoltage set to 1.38V causes instability even on 4.4Ghz OC: e.g. screen freezes and I need to hard restart My setup: Z170A Asus motherboard (BIOS Version 3802 (newest Version)) Intel i7 6700K (4GHz base, 4.2GHz boost) 16GB DDR4 RAM (2400MHz) Crucial Ballistix (Dimm slot A2 & B2) GTX 1070 Zotac Samsung 970 Evo M.2 SSD (1TB) 2x 140mm & 2x 120mm case fans I do not understand what the issue is and I read that people were having similar issues with the same motherboard and CPU but I never found out how to solve it... Please help let me know what the Issue could be.. PS 4.4GHz OC with voltage set on AUTO when opening a 2nd browser?!?!? WTH how does it go to 1.456V????:

Hi folks, I have thermal throttling at low temperatures, it starting at 70°C and it is dropping frequency from 4.7 GHz to 1.2 GHz. And game which demanding high CPU usage are unplayable. Every game should run, more than fine specs: i7 10700k B460M gaming HD - default BIOS Cooler is Argus SU-260 120mm fan RTX 3060 Ti I was reading many topics, but they are mostly about laptops or desktops which reaching very very high temperatures over 90. Which is not my case. Attached are 2 ss from XTU and throttlestop, you can see there low temperatures and huge throttling Did you have similar problem ? Or could you please advice what it can causing ? If u need more details, I will add them. Thank you very much :} Roman I hope that someone can help me here.

Budget (including currency): 1000$ Country: United states Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: beamng Minecraft (with shaders and texture pack) and other games So I built this machine a while ago when the i7 7700k 7th generation was really good I wanted to upgrade my graphics card which is a msi GeForce gtx 1050ti to something more powerful I don’t want to bottleneck my cpu and I know that my graphics card is a bottle neck because under heavy load my graphics card gets the hottest and my cpu is just warm to the touch

So I have to power up an I7 9700 (base), RTX 3070 (base too), 32gb ram and two 2TB hard drives and the options I have at hand are either an old CX 750 that I bought around ~2014 and a brand new CV650, however I've been reading some concerning things about the CV650 not lasting long. I'm also on a budget and PWM are *pretty* expensive around here, I'd say this CV650 was more expensive than what i paid for the CX750 back then but that's an understatement to every hardware piece I believe. Should I reject modernity and embrace the CX750, or should I risk the CV650 and see how long it lasts? Edit: Adding details I don't plan on running any huge triple A VR with RTX but I do use a lot of Blender and occasionally render in Cycles so it'll receive some one or two hours of stress each day when that happens.

this is my first time publishing a form and being on this website so sorry if i don’t make any sense but i seen another form on this topic but didn’t answer my question. Right now I have a Intel i7 6700k Skylake 4 cores and 4 threads paired with an RTX 3070. But every time I play “Warzone” and “Black Ops Cold War” i can barley get 100 frames even on low settings. When I downloaded MSI afterburner it says that all my cores and threads were almost near 100% while my RTX 3070 usage was not even above 50%(note I have a 1080p monitor with 144hz). So to me this is clear that I just need a new cpu, I already plan on getting the latest gen AMD Ryzen 5 5600x but I could be wrong if i even need a new cpu. Is there anyone that can confirm that yes I do need a new cpu to solve this issue before I spend a good 500 ish bucks? -
Hey! So I want to buy a new laptop that I can use for college and also game. So I picked this new MSI GF65 THIN 10UE-091 which has a rtx 3060, intel i7 10th gen, 16 gb ram. Is MSI a good brand? Will this laptop be good? Can anyone help. I am afraid to dip my toe in gaming laptops!
