I was thinking about getting Manjaro XFCE for my low end laptop to game, but then saw some posts talking about it being buggy?!. I really do not mind how it looks or how easy it is to setup. I kinda like the long setup process anyway. If all I cared about was performance and stability, do you think I should go with Arch instead of Manjaro? If yes, is XFCE perfectly fine or should I mess around with i3 or KDE?

I have a super low end pc and wanna squeeze every single drop of fps from it. I really do not mind the learning curve and find it quite exciting. Is i3 window manager a suitable replacement for xfce? I will mostly play minecraft. Are there any driver issues or bugs?

Hi, I'm currently speccing out a budget laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 3) on top of my desktop for some studies abroad, I'll be doing some web browsing, video playback, word-editing & Excel, and some relatively light database management (Access) and QGIS/ ArcGIS workloads. I'm torn between the i5-12450H and the i3-1215U. Both would come with 16GB of RAM (5800 Mhz DDR5 for the first, and 3200Mhz DDR4 for the latter). I haven't found many reliable performance comparatives online. The i3 system is 70 bucks cheaper and comes with a better battery. Is the i3 a good choice? Or will I notice enough of a performance difference to justify shelling out for the i5 instead? Thanks

The only reason I'm considering the Core i3-13100 is because it's 13th gen along with the integrated graphics just in case of some need for it (dead GPU far down the line maybe?), I'm not sure if the extra cores on the i5 would benefit me much or if the slightly higher Clock Speed on the i3 would be better, either way any of them would be better than the i3-1005G1 I'm using now... I understand that the machine is obsolete but i would like to play whatever i can with a GPU upgrade. I was planning to buy a used GTX 1650 or 1050ti and add another 4gb RAM stick for 8gb. I want to avoid buying a new psu as much as possible so that i can spend more on GPU. And if my budget permits add a SATA SSD probably. WOW!!! So I bought an Intel Core i3-4130 which, has Intel HD 4400. Or does it? Intel HD 4400 specs on every site: GT2, 20 execution units, 160 cores, My Intel HD 4400 specs: GT1.5, 12 execution units, 96 cores. After reading a forum post, I found out that the desktop haswell iGPU is CUT IN HALF, and only laptops have the full HD 4400 with 20 execution units. This is not written anywhere on the internet that there's 2 versions of HD 4400. They specifically go out of their way to gimp the performance of PC integrated graphics. Even techpowerup lists the full 20 EU HD 4400 being available in the desktop i3's, and they don't have the cut version in their database. Intel itself doesn't list 2 versions of HD 4400! JUST WOW!!! DESKTOP HD 4400 IS SLOWER THAN DESKTOP HD 4000!!!!! Every Intel HD pre-Skylake is a scam one way or another!!! If I deep dive a sky lake I might find a scam in there too!

Because i have a "ton" of hdd lying around i wanted to build a "nas/storage" pc by using old parts that are flying around here at home but i still need a cpu (and ram) i came across a 10100 i3 on ebay but the seller sells it as defective claiming that the cpu is untested (looking at his profile he also sells another cpu also as untested). so should i go for it ? or to what should i pay attention to when buying a used cpu of ebay. any advice would be great. and just to note the pc is only for storage purpose for my actuall pc and maybe as a media server or something similar so buget cpu/ram is all that is needed. for everything else i have "old" spare parts already. also are 16gb too much of ram for such a system (at 43€ its on sale) ? (it will run win11/10 dualboot linux) is a cheaper F cpu better for such a purpose is i have a old gpu (gtx 670 i believe) or should i stick with integrated graphics because of power usage? i can only look for 10gen cpus because my spare mobo only supports 10gen (no bios update for 11gen) or should i go even lower to pentium/celeron 10gen ?

My cpu temperature is in between 69°C-74°C (not going over 75°C) while playing Rainbow Six Siege. Cpu usage is 70%-80% while the gpu usage is 100%. Is this cpu temperature normal with intel stock cooler? specs are - i3-10100 10th gen with stock cooler, GT 1030 and 2x8gb 2400mhz ram.

Hi I am a little bit confused because nobody is giving me an accurate answer! Can I record on OBS with i3-10100F/i3-10105F? Is there any cpu encoder (like x264) on these processors? (Have GT 1030 so there is no NVENC) Also will I get any display output if I use "F" processors without a GPU?

But all other components will be the same as above. I need your precious help considering the following points: 1. I play only and only Rainbow Six Siege. 2. I don't want to go for Ryzen at any cost. 3. Are the 2400mhz rams good for i3 10th gen? (not planning to buy rams budget pressure) 4. I know there will be a lot of gpu bottleneck but I can't help myself buying a new gpu so I want to stick to this one as I always play only R6. So will there be a hardware/major issue? 5. I also record gameplay with OBS but I'm not sure if I get i3-10100 or i3-10105F. If it is possible to record with "F" then I will get that cpu. 6. Or should I just get an 8th gen mobo?

I've recently upgraded from a 1060 3gb to a 1080ti. Massive difference! But I don't have the funds to upgrade my CPU, so I am stuck with a 10100 for now. Do you think that I should start using vsync to eliminate CPU bottleneck? Does that even make sense? I play mostly singleplayer games and my monitor is 75Hz@1080p

Hey there. I was wondering if an Intel Core i3 11th Gen is an ok enough processor for Windows 10/11, or on a laptop. It’s i3 11th Gen MOBILE I should clarify. There are many laptops with an i3 11th Gen on them and they reviews with, “Best Beginner Laptop.” Is an i3 good enough for, gaming, watching videos, website-looking, (idk what the word is) etc? Hi, so I'm making an new pc and I'm gona use it for indie game dev, and some casual low- mid level gaming. I have a limited budget tho. I am confused wether to get a i3 10th (10100f 4 core 8 thread) and a Quadro T600 (only available in budget) or wether i should get a 5600g and buy a GPU a year or 2 later. Also, pls don't waste your time suggesting the rtx 3050 bcz it's obviously not gonna sell for 250 or even less than 300 bucks. Thanks in advance.

i have a acer spin 3 2020 with an i3 1005g1 and 8gb of ram. my issue is every time i play minecraft it crashes the whole windows os and freezes it and i cant control alt delete or anything, the only way for me to unfreeze it is by turning it off and back on. i already contacted acer about it and sent it in but all they did was download the drivers again and send it back and it still crashed. so i have since contacted them again and i am gonna send it back but i was just wondering if anyone has an idea on what could be causing these crashes. thanks!
