Hey good people of LTT. Been a long time youtube watcher and now call upon you for aid. I am from the Netherlands and have been using a HTC desire 820 single sim for over a year as my daily driver. I was listening to music via a bluetooth headset when my phone suddenly died. It was on the charger at 15% battery. Now the charging LED is blinking mad and when I start up my phone it gives the following error. *** Software status official*** *** LOCKED**** A51_UL PVT SHIP S-ON HBOOT-3.19.0.0000 RADIO-01.01.010_UL10305041_08.01.51015 OS-2.11.401.6 eMMC-boot 2048MB oc feb 15 2016;15:37:12.0 then there are a few options: HBOOT RAMDUMP REBOOT REBOOT FASTBOOT POWER DOWN I've tried all of them except for the RAMDUMP but the LED keeps blinking like mad. I am suspecting a charging error but I've got no clue how to fix it. I would love to know if any of you know how to fix this or if I should just buy a new one. Thanks in advance, Maikel

So a few weeks ago, I set up project cars to work on the HTC vive with a "patch"called libreVR. Never was a big fan of its implementation. A few days ago, an update through Steam, gave native support for the vive. So far the old libreVR setup keeps popping up. Anybody, know of a clean way to remove it other than uninstall/delete the whole game file? Anyone have any experience with libreVR

My cheap android phone that i bought for 100 bucks which somehow served me for 4 years has just died out today (RIP in pepperonies ).... so im looking for a new phone and it seems that i can't decide between these two (626 and p8 lite) . For me these are my priorities for a good phone : screen (i dont want a shit blurry screen that easily gets scratched )>repsonsiveness(just enough to switch from tab to tab with least noticable lag)>battery life ..... which one of these 2 is more worth the cash ? Im living in europe by the way so this is the European P8 lite

I have to say I am pretty torn whether I like it or not. And since i'm on the lookout for a new phone I was wondering what other people thought.

Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10238/hands-on-with-the-htc-10 Cool. The 10 actually looks like a phone you might want to consider getting. It looks to me to be kinda like a GS7 with a metal back, no AMOLED screen, different software, no IP68 rating, but also much better speakers. It'll be interesting to see just how good it is, though it does carry a hefty price tag. This might finally be an HTC phone worth getting, as the m9 was plagued with overheating issues from the 810. It looks pretty nice and clean, too. As well, it seems HTC has FINALLY learned that cameras are important, too, as the camera on this thing looks pretty good. 1.55µm pixels sound pretty good for low-light performance.

Hey and hallo fellow nerds! I`m sure i`m not the only one that recently has seen this video. Such an awsome idea. and the amount of immersion this would add to the Sim games is just to damn good! I did tho realise, as i watched the video. that this was only what we, the audiance would be seeing (atleast with this tecnuiq) and i started to think. I`ve bin seeing people with the dk1 and dk2 having put some kind of camera or tracker in the front (have had no idea what it actually did). Wich got me thinking about another peace of teknology. The new Webcam that Razer has launched. and its features. if they could be integrated with some tinkering or even at a later VR headset version. Man, wouldent that rock! (and work)? as i understood the way the Stargazer works, it only shows stuff within a pre determened range? not sure. but thinking about that the Vive allready has a camera on it. that they would be adding cameras to the upcoming versions. But yeah, i`m sure theres someone out there with a bit more knowlege of how the Stargazer works. And if it would possebly work at all, for people with scripting and coding skills to add it as an game overlay (if it would be mountable to the front of the cv1 at all). searched for this today and didn`t find anything, so i thougt i`d throw the idea out there! what are your thougts?

Hey, Im a couple weeks out from an upgrade on my iPhone 5s and it can't come soon enough. For background I'm a medical intern and am in and out of the hospital all day/everyday. This means lots of areas with wifi only, and poor cell reception, and other areas where its great. The last 2 months or so I've been getting to roughly 1pm (maybe 2) before my battery is completely bone dry. It's not an issue to charge, but with my crazy schedule its pretty inconvenient to leave my phone somewhere plugged in. I have a portable battery bank as well, but with all the other stuff I have in my pockets/bag it is annoying to have to resort to that (I frequently do anyways). My question is now about the best choice for upgrading. I would prefer to stay away from the Phablet size phones. As I said pocket/lab coat space is at a premium and im scared that power walking down a hallway a huge phone like that would fall out of my pocket. My current options are S7 (not edge) - AMOLED, Waterproofing, Gorilla Glass 4, wireless charging, better camera S7 Edge - Same as above + bigger battery HTC 10 (comes out next friday here) - Great audio, aluminium finish, USB type 3 charger, wireless charger, Image stabilization on front camera, ability to use SD card as internal memory (not just mass storage) Wait til september for the iPhone 7 and suck it up. I realize that their are many pro's and cons to each which i sort of listed above. The edge has a bigger battery, but at the expense of being a significantly larger phone. And the iPhone 7 might as well be a year away at the rate my current phone is dying. I've playing around with the Samsung S7 at my local mobile dealer (Bell) and I like it, but since the HTC 10 isn't out yet it's hard to get an opinion on it. I was hoping that some people here might have some insight on the overall battery life of the S7, and maybe the HTC 10 if their are some early copies out there. I'm not super concerned about the cost as a factor, basically just want a phone that can last through the day (and more hopefully) using the apps I need for work (uptodate etc). Just want to add in, I have read many reviews; anandtech, engadget etc on both devices, but they seem to flip flop back and forth. Makes me feel like that they are close enough there is no difference. I have to think the AMOLED would count for at least something over HTC, but it doesnt seem it. Anyways, sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Guys, I tried to install a custom rom to my HTC One s and now I have no OS and no Recovery. I just need a simple OS installed preferably to stock. But the thing is I have no idea how to find/run a rom in order to put an OS back onto the phone. When I boot the phone on by holding the power and volume down the screen says: tampered unlocked VLE PVT SHIP S-ON RL HBOOT - 2.15.0000 RADIO-1.13.50.05.31 OPENDSP-V31.1.0.45.0815 EMMC-BOOT DEC 14 2012 HBOOT FASTBOOT RECOVERY FACTORY RESET CLEAR STORAGE SIMLOCK IMAGE CRC SHOW BARCODE: And if i go into fastboot it says Bootloader reboot reboot boot loader power down myboot loader is clockwork mod recovery v6.0.4.8 and there is literally nothing on this phone. If anyone can help you will be a God. Thanks!!

Recently while surfing YouTube I came across the channel Anton Hand and his wonderful work in SteamVR using Unity. https://www.youtube.com/user/TheRustyFist/videos Of particular interest is where he's going with guns and shooting based game play. If I understand correctly these objects and guns perform realistically because all the parts inside are real and move according to the physics in the environment. Here's an amazing video of work on an AR15: Let me know what you all think, because I think it's great and it's got me excited for VR like nothing else has.

HTC Claims Upcoming Flagship is "the fastest and smoothest Android device available"
Guest posted a topic in Tech News
Link to Article: http://mobilesyrup.com/2016/03/29/htc-says-upcoming-flagship-smartphone-is-the-fastest-and-smoothest-android-available/ Thoughts on this? HTC makes high end phones but will they make an Industry Leading Performance Leading Smartphone. My guess is this phone will cost at least $800 USD. I can't see a performance oriented expensive smartphone selling better than a Samsung Galaxy Note 6 or an iPhone 7. Most people don't need extremely beefy smartphones. I want to buy a new smartphone but i cant deicde between htc m10 samsung s7/Edge and LG G5. I doubt htc will bring anything good to the table but i cant decide if i take g5 or s7. Performance wise they are almost equal but s7 has waterproof and g5 has replaceable battery, i heard that G5 can change something along with the battery but i didnt yet find what it is or how it works.

For those who want to try out the HTC Vive, well now you can, as HTC is demoing their Vive at select Microsoft stores and Gamestop in US and Canada. Their first 3 places to have the HTC Vive demo will be at Microsoft stores It will have a total of 30 stores setup by the end of the year. For Gamestop, they should have about 10 demos by mid-April, but didn't specify the total number they're planning to setup. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/htc-vive-store-vr-demo,31566.html

I was just trying to connect my HTC One M8 (Verizon) to my computer to create a backup. However, when I connected my phone via the original USB cable, the computer recognized that it is connected, but HTC Sync manager didn't even acknowledge that the One M8 was plugged in. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

source: http://venturebeat.com/2016/02/20/htc-vive-opens-for-preorder-on-february-29-ships-on-april-1/ they should release it on April 1st, the price will be a joke anyways for shits and giggles, let's make a pool: how much do you think VIVE will go for? FaceBook already set the tone on how to wrongly price VR I'm quite curious how many VR units, Rift + Vive, will ship this year --- update http://blog.htcvive.com/2016/02/unveiling-the-vive-consumer-edition-and-pre-order-information/ directly from HTC, the price is 799 800$ --- update: UK price is 689£ and 899€ for the Eurozone http://blog.htcvive.com/us/2016/02/international-pricing-for-vive-pre-order/ note: sales tax included

According to UploadVR.com the HTC Vive is priced at $799 and will ship in early April. It will feature a slightly improved and refined design and will allow you to answer your phone. Preorders starting February 29th. UploadVR: The Verge: Preorders will be available starting Febrary 29th in the following countries: Sources: http://uploadvr.com/htc-vive-is-799/ http://www.theverge.com/2016/2/21/11081462/htc-vive-consumer-edition-price-release-date-mwc-2016 It also lets you answer calls while in VR, though I'm not sure this is a very requested or important feature. I honestly thought it would be more expensive, but this remains an early adopter product. One thing to note is that while the Oculus is $200 cheaper, it doesn't come with the touch controllers so I guess in the end the two products will be somewhat priced the same. Thoughts on the pricing? Edit: Added bits from The Verge article (+ link).

Hi! So, I've come into possession of a HTC One X+ I wanted to install ar ROM on it because the Android version on it was old. Unlocked the bootloader, rooted , did everything. Flashed CM12.1 onto it. At first, everything seemed good, but the phone stayed in the CM booting animation with the head and the pulsating thing. I also forgot to make a backup of the original build, but I might need to have a usable phone, in case something happens to my main phone. Anyone have experience? I'd really like to have Android Lollipop, but a older version or a different ROM that works should be fine. Please help. I made a thread on XDA, but it only got views and no answers . Thanks in advance.

A studio by the name of Sólfar secures $2.1M to recreate Everest in stunning detail and scale. Sólfar are teaming up with RVX, Nordic’s leading visual effects and animation house, to deliver the experience to VR headsets next year. I believe experiences like this is where VR really demonstrates its belonging. If done correctly, I could see immersive experiences like this being very successful. Video (not sure why it isn't embedding)

Hi, Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread but am new and don't know what this problem comes under. My HTc One m8 tried doing an auto update to Android marshmallow but when it rebooted it had an error and now wont launch into android at all. When i turn on the phone all i get is the Android recovery menu*. I will attach pictures of what i can see, I purchased the phone about 8 months ago and its not cover by a warranty. I was running the google now launcher. When i reboot it shows a boot loader menu.** Have factory reset the phone using this menu. *http://imgur.com/gallery/XCjnact/new **http://imgur.com/SJTufFg If you could help that would be great. Thanks Liam

So, because of my growing need for an acceptable phone (Wildfire S doesn't cut it at all), I'm looking around for a fairly decent phone, but one without an 800 AUD pricetag. My first instinct was to go with the OnePlus 2, but I'm unsure of that decision because of the lack of front facing speakers and the bewildering release of the OnePlus X (that damn invite system man). My second call badum tiss was to the Moto G, though I believe it just lacks in areas that I desire (and the price reflects that). I'm quite intrigued with the Moto X, and I might pick it up, though I'd like to get a better understanding of competing smartphones. So fire away with some suggestions and why. Cheers!
