Hello, I've been recently looking for a new phone to replace my old xperia ion. I have settled on two phones, the sony xperia z2 and htc one m8. I can't really decide which one to choose though... A few key things i like about the Z2 -larger battery, -waterproof (im a swimmer), -more familiar UI, -Better camera, -extra gb of ram, -magnetic docking and the m8 -I love its metal chasis, -boomsound speakers, -more simplistic UI, so what it really comes to is the design of the m8 over the z2 but i like the specs of the z2 over the m8. So what do you think? and can you think of the types of people who would use each phone ex. businessman would prob choose z2. PS: if it comes down to the m8 being my choice, should i get the harmon kardon edition. I like its audio boosts and earbuds but im not sure about its design, (is the black too black?) do you like the HKE better? why?

Once again, @evleaks has leaked infos about some upcoming phones/ tablets. This time he leaked the possible spec info of the "upcoming" Nexus 9, HTC Volantis, and what surprise people is he stated that the tablet could get as much as 5GB of ram!? Of course he quickly stated then, that the spec is not yet finalized. But 5GB of ram?? so i need a new phone i am still stuck on the IPhone 3GS and personally i don't like Apple devices so i want to get rid of it i want a good quality phone with a good camera i was thinking about the HTC One X i know its a bit out of my range but i found one on ebay that is seller refurbished what do you guys think?? Hi all, Just wondering what app people are using on their Android devices, the stock one doesn't play all file types which is annoying me big time. Help?

I am in the market for a new phone, my Xperia U is on its way out, and am tossing up what to get. I am not on a contract, nor do i want to go on one, I want to buy a phone outright, however am only willing to pay no more than $500 AUD at the most. I have read good things about the Nexus 5 and HTC One (previous gen). Which one should I get, or are there others that I should consider. Cheers

I tried installing some customs ROMs but decided to go back to Stock using a backup but I must have backed up incorrectly as now my phone won't boot into an OS. My phone basically is doing this: (Not my video) I'm completely lost with what to try next, I've tried to use the AIO Toolkit to boot into recovery but it cannot find the device. Any ideas?

Hello! So I've been stuck with my Nokia brick and an iPod for the last few years and I was thinking about upgrading to a smartphone. I've heard a lot of positive things about the LG G3, HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5, but the problem is that I don't know which one to go for. Good image/ video quality, good screen, overall build quality, speed, battery life, extra features and accurate colour is important, design not so. What do you think? At the moment I'm leaning towards the LG G3 and the HTC One M8. Thank you!

I currently have an iPhone 4 8gb and all I can say is why did apple allow this phone to get ios 7? A toaster can run better than it. I have been searching through the flagship phones off HTC, LG, and Samsung. There are truly so many trade offs with every one, and creates a difficult choice. I would have picked the HTC one m8 but I didn't due to the fact it didn't have a removable back or wireless charging capabilities. The LG g3 would be an easy choice, but isn't due to a few things. The whole EULA deal going on with LG, as mentioned in the WAN show yesterday, the fact that a snapdragon 801 had to drive a 2560 by 1440p display (I wish it had a 805), and the pressure of Samsung's galaxy note 4 packing the same display but with the snapdragon 805. I have no intentions of buying the Samsung galaxy-bandaid S5 because I feel that the LG g3 outdoes it. Also in Q1 or Q2 of next year the snapdragon 810 will be out in the phones. At this point I don't know if I should wait for next year, get the note 4, or get one of the phones out now. Priorities go from high to low: performance, display, features, camera, battery, build and design. Now this doesn't mean that I would buy a phone that looks like a turd that has the latest and greatest though. So suggestions? I think I've given my thoughts on what I'm looking for and I'm just seeing if anyone better educated in this than I am could guide me somewhat. I did write this on an Android tablet using SwiftKey

Anyway, I just got an HTC One M8 and I'm loving the phone so far (upgraded from a Wildfire S) and I was wondering what you guys recommend in terms of apps and need to know things about the device. I'm still looking through it but any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Edit: In short, HTC deliberately kept the best new features out of the Sense 6 upgrade for the M7 in a maleficent corporate attempt to artificially increase the gap between the 2, frankly, clone like devices, to the determent of HTC's existing customer base and their consumer relationship. This was speculated about back in April in the article here: http://androidandme.com/2014/04/news/official-htc-one-m7-to-get-sense-6-update-in-may/ A week ago I installed the latest update from HTC to Sense 6 on my nearly year old One (M7). I had seen plenty of videos at the M8's launch of the new sense 6 operating system, while the phone looked pretty uninteresting coming from the previous model and besides I am not even half way into my 2 year contract (UK contracts generally fully subsidizes the phone over (typically) 24 months, in my case £30/month (that's ~$50 inc. 20% VAT tax for you Americans) for "unlimited" 4G) so selling the "old" one to upgrade makes no sense especially as i prefer the smaller, sharper looking design of the M7. That said, I was looking forward to the software update, it wasn't major but the UI looked crisper a few of the new features were handy additions. However when I explored Sense 6 for myself i noticed a few of the features were left out, most noticeably the motion launch gestures, which I was most looking forward to (any thing that can save me time or not fiddle around with buttons, I am all for). After some searching to find out if I was just missing something, I came across this article which i think has hit the nail on the head ( http://androidandme.com/2014/04/news/official-htc-one-m7-to-get-sense-6-update-in-may/ ), HTC DELIBERATELY left out some UI features because they want M7 customers to buy the M8. WHAT THE F@&% HTC? That was the most useful feature, one that I would probably use every day and its been omitted. Why? To artificially distinguish the new from the "old"! After all the software update I installed was called Sense 6 so I expect it to be the same as Sense 6 (as on the M8) not a purely cosmetic Sense 5 point-whatever. Distinction between yearly models should be made by making the hardware of the new phone BETTER rather than holding the software of the "old" phone back. Make it water and dust proof. Make it out of hardened titanium. Make it out of carbon fibre. Give it an option for a proper English dictionary (this applies to absolutely everything) so I don't keep having to add the correct spellings, I am bad enough already. Give it a sapphire crystal screen. Give it a truly bezel or boarder-less display. Give it a better camera. Give it a substantially bigger battery. Give it voice activation on par with Siri (or anything better than Google Now, even if they used the same (pretty good) voice rec. but integrated it with more of the phone's functions somehow and whatever you do, just don't do an S-Voice). Do a deal with Marvel and get Paul Bettany to do a HTC exclusive Jarvis voice "skin" for Google Now. Give it a TV antenna (akin to the LG G3, see 1:02:00 June 16 WAN Show). Make it literally bullet proof, I'm talking type 2A body armour and can be run over by a car etc. Heck, give it mini airbags to cushion a fall. Give it anything that actually makes the new phone tangibly better than the "old" and makes it a legitimately desirable upgrade over the last model. If anyone from HTC or any other phone manufacturer is still reading, firstly thanks, but please realise (son of a bitch, I hate American dictionaries so much, why is everything spelt (Really? 'spelled'? Now you're just taking the piss!) with a 'z'?) that most consumers at least in the UK change phones every other year with their contracts, even the people I know who work in mobile industry and can get their hands on just about any brand new phone released tend to upgrade their daily drivers every other year. Note I have been referring to the M7 as 'the "old" phone' because in every aspect it still feels like a new, flagship device. If you really want to differentiate your new product almost all of the above would be major selling points for most people I know. Consumers tend to appreciate manufacturers that take a risk or 2 to drive progress and that's usually reflected in sales. Please do use these ideas to build a better phone, you know give me 10% royalties of the features used, much legal stuff etc. etc. I shall include an abstract for those unwilling to read an essay (my apologies). It features the same specs as the HTC One: -Snapdragon 600 -Ultrapixel camera -Boomsound -Sense 5.0 except for that it has a 5 inch 1080p (as opposed to 4,7in) screen. My opinion: If this one isn't massively cheaper than the HTC One, then why in the world would anyone go for this phone instead of the One? Though I really hope HTC gets through their difficulties, they are one of the best companies I know.

Famed Android developer Paul O'Brien (lead developer of MoDaCo) is working on a project which would allow HTC One (and possibly other phones down the line) to quickly switch between AOSP Android and Sense 5. I don't know how this HTC vs Apple is gonna end up. While Apple filed a lawsuit on Samsung for copying their design, their devices were not something close to Apple's devices. Now HTC's A9 is ultimately looking like an iPhone 6/6s. HTC’s president of North Asia Jack Tong thinks it’s a combination. “We’re not copying,” he said recently, according to WantChinaTimes. “It’s Apple that copies us in terms of the antenna design on the back,” Tony added, referring to the One M7 design introduced two years ago. There are conflicting reports on the features of the HTC One (M9). According to 3G website, the device is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 screen resolution (534 ppi), powered by hexa-core Snapdragon 808 and octa-core Snapdragon 810 processors, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and come packed with 3GB of RAM. Hi all, The title is pretty self explantory. I am stuck between the Htc One M7 and the Nexus 5. A am upgrading from my Galaxy Nexus which served me SOOOOO well I have about £250 to spend on the device and am from the UK. I really can't decide and am stuck - I have seen and used both. The Nexus 5 has a little bit washed out screen but better camera and overall is absolutely perfect, on the other hand the One is great too ! It has a lovely screen but thick bezels, bad camera but OMG BEAST DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY... + those speakers... O:-) I use my phones without cases and don't care about software since I will be rooting either and flashing ROMS. and if you see any deals on ebay.co.uk please let me know. Please help guys! I would love the Htc one in black and the N5 in white

Hello guys! I am in a need of a new smartphone and I've been interested in the HTC One M9 and its amazing design And Oneplus One its generally amazing from what I've seen . I will be using the phone for listening to ALLOT of music, might be playing some games browsing internet, taking photos..etc nothing out of the ordinary. So would you mind suggesting which phone i should buy. Also no Motorola Turbo in my country so don't bother. I am currently hyped at the M9 but i hear there are allot of issue with it and the Snapdragon 810 s overheating problem, i mostly need a phone with ~good sound quality?

So i'm having some issues with my S3, the screen has 10 or so inky black spots in the back light. anyway, I'm looking at the HTC One, the Nexus 4, and a lot of other phones. What should I get?

Today marks the day my Samsung galaxy s4 just bit the dust which means only one thing, I need a replacement. Although my s4 wasn't perfect i still have some basic requirements: - Waterproof (you can probably guess why that's first on the list) - Durable - Not from apple - New enough to get regular updates for several more versions of android - under $700 (i'm not 100% firm on that) - Head phone jack, Why is this a problem in the first place? - Amoled display (at least 1920x1080 - Great battery life - Easy to find oem or quality replacement parts on my own if i ever break it Now that i think about it, a galaxy s8 would be perfect, the google pixel (i'll make an exception for waterproofing) is too expensive and the waiting list is obnoxious. If you have any recommendations please let me know! Current opinions: - OnePlus 3T doesn't have an amoled display - Samsung is aweful at updates, only supporting three versions or so after launch - Google pixel is way out of budget and hard to get due to the waiting list - Iphone 7 is an iphone, I don't support anti-consumerist companies - LG G6 would be a great phone if the S8 didn't exist Sorry for making this post this long, i'm just panicking now that i don't have a working phone.

Ello ello, I am going to be upgrading my current phone to either the S4 or the HTC one, I was wondering if someone out there could help me out with a few questions I had. Regarding the One: The non-expandable storage is kind of a big deal, would it possible to link up a external hard drive (on the go) via usb connector in order to dump files from the phone? I have also heard of the HTC excelling in low light, but how does it stand up against the s4, or some cheap point and shoots? I'm going to be travelling alot, and it would be ideal if I could just use my phone. Thanks! Tom

If you guys own a smartphone which everybody on this fourm should be but just in opinion what was the first smartphone and what is your favorite smartphone of all time. Please no fanboiesm. My first smartphone ever was the google nexus one and it was the coolest thing to me because it was the first phone to have a 1ghz processor which was crazy at the time it was relesed and it was just butter smooth. But favorite phones alllllllllllllllll timeeeeeeeeeee are the HTC One who can not love this phone and the Droid DNA the first iteration, and the one and only the LG G2 these are all one of the best (in my opinon) 1080p phone if the htc one had an LG G 2 panel I would totally but that shiet

Am i the only one that find the 4.2.2 with htc sense 5, completely crap? I went from an iphone 3gs to a htc one, based on all the reviews. The screen and build quality is nice, but software wise... i almost threw it across the room one time when i was setting up gmail and youtube on the device. And the bloody thing keeps buzzing when i get the slightest notification in facebook! It vibrates everytime someone writes a new sentence in the chat. And there is no way to stop it from doing it. :wacko: I tried MIUI V5 and it's soooo much better! Because of some problems i went back to stock. Anyone got a good recommendation for a custom rom? cheers,
