Okay so I love my HTC One but..... A while ago out of the blue, It started acting funny. The operating system (Android Revolution at the time) started to stop working. I'd never had any troubles with Android Revolution until then. So I decided to re flash the OS, which was a really bad idea. I made a TWRP backup before I started anything, like I usually do. I was planning on doing a full system wipe for a clean install so I needed to move the backup off the device. That's when I found out that the USB wasn't working so I ended up moving the backup via wifi. So I gave the phone a full wipe and started installing my OS again (A newer version of Android Revolution). It definitely wasn't corrupt, I checked the Md5 sum. From there it refused to install so I gave up gave it all another wipe and I tried to put the old backup back on but I couldn't. That's where I'm at now and have been the last month or two. Current State: Able to access bootloader and recovery only Nothing on the device's storage Only Charging while off Not recognized by my computer (ADB and Fastboot) Not able to mount USB OTG in TWRP Not able to mount system in TWRP What I have Tried: Different USBs Just about every different driver I can find Different ADB and Fastboot versions Different computers Device Information: M7_UL S-ON HBOOT-1.56.0000 RADIO-4A.17.3250.14 OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909 Recovery - TWRP v2.6.3.3 I've been looking all over the internet for a solution but I can't find anything to help me fix this.

Face, meet palm. HTC, you will be better off if you keep ads off Sense. I don't give a shit how broke you are and how tough your financials are (perhaps stop releasing crappy phones so you make more money because people actually wanna buy your phones?) There is so much nope if they do something like this. Way too much nope in fact. I got the HTC One M9 recently, and it is pretty good, but I get some banding on some wallpapers I made where there are some gradients. I never had this issue with my N6, or N5, only with this phone.I have tried both PNG and JPG, I tried applying with different apps, I used Sense launcher and Nova launcher, I have searched for a few hours, all to no avail. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this banding issue?

I don't think HTC understands what a flagship means. Flagship. Singular. One ultimate device for your generation. Thats it. Best you can muster for the release cycle. Yet we have yet another HTC One 'flagship' for Asia. Because HTC thinks making new hardware based off the One over and over will fix the lacklustre reception their phones have been getting this year. In all honesty, maybe this should've been the M9 that HTC sold North America and Europe in the first place. Maybe HTC needs to really take the best of everything and make a single phone. This thing does have a fingerprint scanner, but its not a button. Doesn't make sense, since you still get these god awful double bezels and I can't honestly think that anyone at HTC actually thinks this looks nice anymore. HTC, please get your shit together. No? Yes? Please don't release a HTC One ME9+ now after this...and yes this device is either the ME or ME9 depending on what sources you read. Keep getting confused people, its the HTC way. http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/04/htc-one-me/ http://www.slashgear.com/htc-one-me-sports-htcs-sharpest-display-and-you-cant-have-it-04386756/

That is all well and good HTC, but will you actually ensure that your "hero" product stays your "hero" product for a calendar year or will you release a better version for another region 3 months later, at which point people ask "why didn't you just release that one in the first place?" I really hope they get it together. Their entire business sorta depends on it all. To think, this is the brand that made the Nexus One. And now they're all over the place again just like they were at the tail end of the Windows Mobile 6.5 days. http://www.androidauthority.com/htc-improvements-m-and-more-614030/

If you're wondering who and what DxO is, they are a testing body who look at the objective side of things when it comes to camera perforce. None of the "it looks good", just a raw analysis of the hardware and how it performs, usually in studio/ideal conditions, to see just what good the tech underneath really is. And for the HTC One M9? The tech is kinda shitty. I mean, when you aren't even beating a 4S in objective tests designed to see where your sensors and software excel/fail...that kinda says it all doesn't it? It seems that the HTC One needs a software boost before it needs a sensor boost, given how the sensor itself isn't actually bad at all, which is frustrating given all the things HTC has been doing that they screwed the pooch on the camera software along with all the other hardware related mistakes of the One M9. Android users have no fear however, the Note 4, S6 and G4 are all stellar shooters with very robust software to complement their sensors to give you a great shooting experience. http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/HTC-One-M9-Review-M8-s-successor-on-DxOMark/HTC-One-M9-Imaging-Results

NCIX: http://bit.ly/1EYzkk6 Amazon: http://geni.us/29ge Has the HTC One once again delivered a game changer to the smartphone market with the M9 as they did with the M7? Or is this new phone a step in the wrong direction...

HTC One M9 Users I WANT YOU! to tell me your opinions on the phone, in short sentences that would base my opinion on buying it or not .

I've attached some screenshots showing my problem. Ever since I upgraded my HTC One m8 to android lollipop I've had this problem. Everytime I turn off my phone and turn it back on the next day some apps off of my homescreen disappear. On my primary homescreen you can see that the Remote Mouse app and some apps from my 'film' folder get taken away after a restart. As for my second homescreen app my 'utility' folder, for which I put apps I deem as tools, has the majority of apps in that folder removed from my homescreen after a reboot. Note: The apps are not removed from my phone they are merely removed from the homescreen. Someone please help because it is extremely fustrating considering I use these apps so often.

I've recently updated to lollipop on my htc one, which imho was a complete was of time. I've noticed a few problem which - whilst only small, are extremely frustrating. So here is somewhere for people to list the benifits or problems they've noticed. Here's my list... Pros: -Nice lock screen, shows messaged and notifications clearly -Task manager is better as you can see more apps -Theres a quick clean tool built in Cons: -It's slowed the phone down.. to a crawl at times -It filled the phone up, and cleaning caches only clear about a gig of space -The keyboard doesn't pop up sometimes, and so you have to restart the phone to get it back -Where you could reselect a word after typing and it would re-recommend words, it no longer does... just moves the insertions line round Your turn

So I backed up my phone before sending it to repairs and they just sent me a new one, which is fine. The problem is that when I went to use the backup that was linked to my HTC account the file wouldn't show (the account is linked to drop box so that's where the file is) Is there a way for me to transfer the back up file onto the phone and boot from it ?

So... Yesterday after couple of hours, I managed to UNLOCK and ROOT my HTC One M7 successfully. Man, that was a pain - first do this, but before that do this, and after that do this and this, but you must have that installed etc. Took me a good 4 hours to do it and finally I wanted to S-OFF the phone but the damn thing just wouldnt budge. I tried it with Rumrunner (latest). I have Hboot 1.57. It finished unsuccessfully saying I need an "unsecured kernel" so I flashed a Bulletproof kernel, which went without error, but now my screen displayed random lines across it on random places but Rumrunner went through at first but then failed at finish saying "Wait 30seconds, power on device, pray and run Rumrunner again". So fed up, I wanted to flash back to stock kernel, but by my mistake I flashed a 4.4.4 kernel on my 4.4.3 KitKat and my phone is now stuck on boot logo. So I am waiting now to get home from work so I can re-flash it correctly. /rant The whole point of this was to get a Google Play Edition ROM on my HTC One. But I NEED S-OFF but, for the love of me the Rumrunner wont work and Firewater is discontinued. Any more ways to S-OFF?? Thanks for the help, I needed to vent

Hey, I was wondering, if you could recommend some good looking ROMs for the HTC One M7. I currently run Android 4.4 and the update to 5.0 is nowhere to be seen and am getting pretty tired of it So, post your suggestions and pros/cons of said ROMs... Thanks, cheers

Last night I left my One m7 shutdown and not plugged in on my desk at about 65 percent battery and this morning when I woke up I turned it on and plugged it in. Now it is at 39 percent and still says charging, I sent my phone in less than a month ago with the same exact problem and HTC seemed to have fixed it but now I am having the same problem and I would like to at all costs not send it in again as that was a nightmare of customer support. Does anyone know of a way to fix this as I love this phone and as a student I do not have the money to drop on another high end smartphone or even the repair because last time they charged me 180 dollars for the repair. Edit: I've tried leaving it off and on power saver and those just slow the battery depletion but it still doesn't charge.

Apple sold 74.5 million iPhones last quarter Got profits? Cause Apple clearly does, by the boatload in fact. I am surprised that Samsung took such a nosedive but they have been facing a lot of pressure on all sides and in my honest opinion their products for the last year or so have been remarkably lacklustre and...sometimes even bad. They haven't bothered to react to a shifting landscape and they've forgotten the cardinal rule: You're not Apple so stop trying to sell like them. Apple could literally market 1980s brick phone to us and succeed, they've got the real life equivalent of the Mad Men cast working in their marketing department. Samsung? Not as much. They should've seen the signs that people were moving away from expensive off contract devices and towards sub 400 dollar off contract/free on contract ones. They might be in decent shape if they had products that were flagship class but not at 800-1000 dollars, but the issues there are Samsung just makes too much stuff all over the place. Its absurd the amount of devices they push out on a yearly basis. Can't imagine what their mobile division blows through in development on a year basis for all those product lines. http://uk.businessinsider.com/apple-is-taking-93-of-the-profits-in-the-smartphone-industry-now-2015-2 http://bgr.com/2015/02/26/iphone-vs-android-profits-q4-2014/

Chinese site cnBeta.com reported, photos of a mysteries HTC device was leaked online, and its' design is a little bit astray from HTC's design language in the past. According to the article, these photos were leaked by a guy called Ekour (I'm still looking for the source of these photos, I'm not sure if it is from twitter, or from other forums). But from these photos, the device seems to be different from HTC's design language in the past. Firstly, it looks similar to the M8, with silm bezels (which most rumors suggested). Boomsound speaker and the HTC logo is still present on the front, but interestingly it seems there is a physical home key on the bottom part of the device. Also it seems the dual-lens system is still present, as it seems there are two cameras on the back of the device, same as the M8. Lastly the device is running Sense 6.0, and from the device information page it seems the device is named "M9pt". The author of this article suggested that this device may actually be the rumored M9 Plus (One Max's rumored refresh), but I think it may be the prototype of the M9/Hima or other HTC One series devices. The device in these photos is different from one in the previously leaked photos ( http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/294531-rumor-possible-htc-one-m9-prototype-leaks/ ), and we can't confirm whether this is the M9, M8 Plus, or other HTC devices until it is launched. http://www.cnbeta.com/articles/364795.htm (in Chinese) *update: another source https://twitter.com/leaksfly/status/558226378810593282/photo/1 http://pocketnow.com/2015/01/22/htc-one-m9-plus-leaked

Hello everyone, I would like to know if it is a good choice to change my Nexus 4 for a HTC One M7. The reason im going to buy the HTC is because the USB port of my Nexus 4 is all messed up and also because I live outside de US and the HTC seems to be (kinda) cheap and also good quality.

I've hard a lot about this device. Is HTC actually working on another flagship? http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/htc-one-m9-news/

There are some rumors about HTC reveling their new flagship Hima (or M9) in MWC 2015, but still they are just rumors. But now we can start our countdown on confirming whether HTC will launch their new flagship in MWC, as PocketNow reported, that HTC in the already sent out invitations to media for a press event on March 1, a day before the MWC 2015. HTC is the first to send out press event invitations for events in MWC 2015. HTC's press event will be held in Barcelona, at 4PM CET. There is not much to be shown in the invitation, as there is only a dotted green pattern and a sky full of stars, with the words “utopia in progress”. There are some rumors that HTC will launch their new flagship in this event, but some says HTC may launch tablet, wearable, or even new Desire series phones. What do you think? What will HTC reveal in this press event? http://pocketnow.com/2015/01/16/htc-mwc-2015

Hey! AS you can see by the title i am looking to see if the HTC One M8 is still a phone worth buying, or if it is a phone of the past! I am interested in buying a phone that is relatively future proof as my daily driver. now an 801 Snapdragon Qualcomm clocking 2.3 GHz to me seems like a fantastic processor! but people constantly tell me it will be abolished by the staple 805, and even 810 that will be coming out early-mid next year! But of course i am very skeptical! So I turn to you great people of the FORUMS! I should mention i live in the great land of canadia not boasting great carriers at all... I am with Rogers! So buying the Moto X is sadly not an option... I would like something that would be 0$ on contract! Thank you!

Hey Don't know which to buy my contract expires tomorrow and i am in need of an upgrade I'm leaning more towards the one M8 only because I absolutely hate Sonys UI. People keep telling me to just get CM on it and it will be fine but idk. What do you guys think?

A Chinese Tech Blogger named "魏布斯"/"Wei Busi" posted on his WeiBo today that HTC has sent him invitation to a press event in Vegas, during CES 2015. The event will be held on 5 Jan, 2015, although he didn't reveal the time and place. But from the press invitation, can you guys think what will be revealed on that day? Personal though: To be honest, I have my doubt on whether this is a really an invitation from HTC or not. The HTC logo on the invitation is not the one we used to see, and the design of the home screen part didn't look like HTC Sense at all. So I have my doubt on whether this is really an invitation from HTC. Anyway this could be confirmed as truth or hoax once other media revealed their invitations from HTC. http://www.weibo.com/1758102755/BD3uLuvml?type=comment
