I'm a bit worried about my component temperatures So my CPU is a Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.10GHz and it's around 2 years old. The idle temperature is around 65-75°C and the temperature under load reaches 90°C or rarely even higher. My GPU is 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti and its around 2 years old aswell. The idle temperature is 55°C and under load about 85°C. If the temperatures are bad, what should I do?

Hi, Whenever I would like to download a huge file, let's say a game or even Netflix, my bridget router will crash after a while. Would it help if I buy a switch, and then connect my PC and bridged router to the switch instead of my pc directly to the bridged router? So Fiber > Router > Switch > Bridge AND PC? My network at the moment

Hello, just upgraded my machine with a Ryzen 2600X and 16GB Flare X RAM: Installation went fine; running with STOCK Cooler (Wraith Spire) and STOCK settings, No OC, at an ASUS Prime B350-Plus motherboard (BIOS is up to date). Tested it with some gaming. BF1: Temp. 75°C Clock. ~3.9GHz on all cores. F1 2017: similar Actually, i expected different results. Like a bit lower temperature, but much higher frequencies, since it is the X model, so like 4.0-4.1 GHz. Running with prime95 12 thread it even throttles to 3.75 GHz and 90°C+. prime96 4 thread : 3.85 GHz and 90°C+ So please tell me, are these temps and clocks normal or not. And if not, did I just have bad luck with my CPU or do I have to tweak specific settings? Greetings

Since anniversary update (around October-ish) my ryzen 1600 build has had an issue in where my the operating system would become unresponsive for a brief period of time. This would occur around every 8-15 minutes. So i reinstalled windows to creators update (the original one since i didn't have fall creators iso on hand) and the issue still persisted. I also installed the ryzen chipset drivers) So i updated by bios to the latest (it's a Gigabyte ab350 gaming 3) and the issue persisted. So i reinstalled windows again to the latest 1803 and checked task manager and found that the task known as system was pinning my ssd to 100% causing the issue every 8-15 minutes or so. I checked on ubuntu and no such issue occurred at least on my hdd. Could my ssd be failing? I purchased it in December of 2016.

question is in the title really. i did some overclocking, but so far i have only touched the multiplier (set to 41.5) and the voltage (set to 1.375) what gives? EDIT: i should probably mention that this is my first AMD CPU ever, so i'm pretty unfamilliar with how these behave.

Hey there! A little while ago I upgraded from my old (Frankenstein's monster) PC to the more high end one I have now. Needless to say I don't know a whole ton about every aspect of this as of yet and am still learning. I mainly game and stream but since I got this PC I always felt like something was holding it back. At the beginning I did some digging and turned the power to performance mode from it's previous setting and that seemed to improve it a little bit, but it still feels off. I have mainly been playing Fortnite Save The World (BRs burnt me out real quickly, more of an MMO player) and when I start playing I get a pretty solid 100-144fps on medium/low settings but after a short amount of time it drops to sub 60 fps. It never seemed to be at a specific time or anything was overheating (I watch my temps on MSI) and after a quick re-launch of the game, the fps come right back. I'm not sure if it's just poor optimization on the games behalf or on my end. I have had this PC for pretty close to a year and make sure I check for dust every month or so, keep it clean and in an open space with proper air flow. (will include picture) When I play a game along the lines of Witcher 3 or Destiny 2 I can have it on Epic with a solid 100+ fps and no problems which leads me to believe the issue with fortnite is it's own optimization. I'm not sure if I just expect more from this PC than what is realistic but for the price I payed I was expecting more I suppose. When streaming any game the FPS can take a horrible hit and is somewhat expected with the extra stress on the CPU but my old PCs i7 3770 seemed to run some games even better than this one. All in all I keep my drivers updated (nearly every day, thanks nvidia) and if anyone had any suggestions as to a setting I can change to improve the performance. I feel like something is turned on a low setting or something is throttling. I can provide any extra info if needed. Thank you! Specs: CPU - Intel Core i7 7820x 8-Core 16-Thread + Dark Rock Pro 3 Extreme CPU Cooler Ram - 32GB DDR4 4x8GB Motherboard - ASUS X299 TUF MARK 2 GPU - EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB HYBRID Water Edition Memory - 256GB SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 Solid State Drive + 3TB Western Digital RED Hard Disk Drive Case - Phanteks P400s Tempered Glass Edition, Black Power Supply - EVGA SUPERNova 850w 80+ Gold Rated OS - Windows 10 64-bit Monitor - Dual ASUS Full HD 1080p 144Hz 1ms DP HDMI DVI Eye Care Gaming LED-Lit Monitor 27" The build was done for me at an small, out of town (but somewhat local shop) that only does gaming PCs.

I have recently built my new computer and installed the wraith cooler with it and I found that just having the programs i have open bring my CPU to 100% I also found two things, one that it said one core when there are clearly six. and the second one being that its at 100. here are the specs of the pc Ryzen 5 1600 B350 Tomahawk Plus Corsair CX650M GTX 750 Ti G.Skill RipJawsV 2x4GB DDR4 3200 Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD If anyone knows a fix for this I would gladly appreciate it.

So I looked at my task manager today and my PC is using 11.1GB of memory with just this chrome tab, hwinfo, msi afterburner, discord, Mwbytes, and razer synapse open. I have 16Gb of ram and 66% is being used at a near idle.... When I take a look at the task manager none of these applications are even using a single gigabyte of Ram, none of this adds up. How do I find out what is using my ram and put a stop to it? attached is a screencap of my task manager

Hi guys Newbie here ! I recently built a system based on the non K version of i7 8700. I first noticed the problem when using Lightroom to generate previews. The CPU was under load, and the temps were reaching 100 degrees and throttling. I started running stress tests and noticed the CPU went to 100 degrees in a matter of seconds at 100% load (Aida64, CPUZ,...). I was using the stock cooler. Checked the mounting - looked fine, event changed the paste (Arctic MX-4) but still the same temps: around 30 degrees in idle ad 100 degrees under load. I changed the cooler with Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B. Now the idle temps are around 25 deg. but still get to 96-100 in Aida64 stress test, 85 deg when using Prime95 (ver 26.6) and 96 deg when using Prime95 (latest version) I checked and re-set the cooler about 4 times. Any ideas? What am I doing wrong ? https://imgur.com/a/KuXdQ My specs: CPU: Intel Coffee Lake Core i7 8700 3.20GHz MB: MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon Memory: HyperX Predator Black 16GB DDR4 3000MHz CL15 Dual Channel Kit SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SATA / Samsung 960 EVO 250GB PCI Express x4 M.2 HDD: WD Blue 1TB SATA-III 7200 RPM 64MB Graphic card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OCV1 6GB DDR5 192-bit Power: Seasonic M12II-520 EVO Edition Bronze 520W Case: BeQuiet Silent Base 600

Hi! So, I've finally decided it's time to upgrade to a high end PC, getting rid of my old one. I'm wondering what people have to say about it, this was put together at the time I'm making this post, with some discounts at a local website provider which I've used before when building a mid-level gaming PC. 1. Budget & Location So, i live in Romania (Europe), so there are certain limitations to the parts we might have as well as price differences. I will list the price for each part at the time i made this. The parts i will order during the seasonal Christmas sales. These parts might change depending on discounts but will mostly provide more or less the same price/performance.. or well hopefully higher performance. Budget: (2.590 € / $ 3.055 / $CAD 3.927) Total pricing for the parts below: (2.488 € / $ 2.935 / $CAD 3.774) CPU : i7 8700k (388 € / $ 458 / $CAD 589) GPU : Gigabyte 1070 Ti Gaming OC (512 € / $ 604 / $CAD 777) Motherboard : Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 5 (230 € / $ 272 / $CAD 350) RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Black 32 GB, 3200 MHz, CL16, 1.35v (Dual Channel config as i plan on getting 64gb total) (464 € / $ 547 / $CAD 700) PSU: Corsair RM750i (146 € / $ 172 / $CAD 221) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 (82 € / $ 97 / $CAD 128) Storage: - 2 x Seagate BarraCuda 2TB HDD 7200 RPM 64 MB (159 € / $ 188 / $CAD 242) - 1 x WD 240 GB m.2 2280 (85 € / $ 100 / $CAD 128) CASE: Segotep SG K8 (Already own) 2. Aim The main aim for this PC is gaming, however i work as a full time Graphic Designer, so i need something capable of rendering stuff at decent speeds whenever i feel like picking some projects while at home. Now, this is my first actual high end PC i build, and i wanted something that can perform decently overall. Firstly i was going for a 1080 Ti, however the 1070 Ti is more than overkill for the games i play, and it allowed me to grab more ram. 3. Monitors ASUS ROG Swift PG248Q (431 € / $ 509 / $CAD 654) 4. Peripherals Not necessary. 5. Why are you upgrading? Because while i was a PC enthusiast and loved following channels like LTT and Jayztwocents etc, which I've been following for 3-4 years now, i never got myself motivated enough to spend a lot of money in order to buy a high end future proof PC. However i felt that it's time to get something done. Currently i already own the case, and i didn't pick a higher capacity SSD because 240 gb is more than enough for me, i also own another 6 TB HDD, so that plus the 2x 2TB will be more than enough for me. NOTE: I need a monitor with at least 144 Hz, and currently this one provides G-Sync, 180Hz, Flicker-free and Blue Light reduction, all for a decent price. Also, i choose the Noctua Cooler because i won't be running any crazy overclock on the 8700k, i will go for a mild overclock, which the NH D15 can handle without a problem. Looking forward for your suggestions. Thanks!

Hi guys, I am going to sell some components of my pc so I need the upgrade. Here is what I consider to buy and I want some suggestion which one is better and why CPU i7 8700k Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z370F / MSI Gaming M5 / Aorus Gaming 7 / Asus Maximus X Hero ( Considering the look and looking for the White LED build ) Memory 2x8gb Corsair Dominator Platinum / Corsair 16gb Vengeace LED / Gskill Trident Z 2600-3000Mhz ( Do I need more than 2666 Mhz? ) Power Supply Seasonic M12II 620W 80 Bronze Full Modular / EVGA 550W GD 80 Gold CPU Liquid Cooler or Air Cooler ? H100i Liquid or etc or just any air cooler with cool white led Currently have GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X + Samsung 850 Evo SSD. I only use this PC for gaming and watching movies. Hard gaming such as PUBG, Blade and Soul, Black Desert Online ( Soon ). Also I will not overclock for now. Maybe in the future. Cheers

I was wondering how high it is possible to overclock, ex; if you keep the temp low or freezing how high can you go? (No drug reference) can you theoretically infinitely over clock? And what are some physical limits? Is it different for different CPUs, GPUs, or other hardware? (feel free to copy and paste or use elsewhere word for word, I don't care)

So I reapplied my thermal paste recently on my Corsair 100i v2 - but my idle temperatures seems to ok at around 35-36 but a few days ago it was 25? But the temperature will also randomly increase to around 50 degrees for a second then go back down to like 36. Under load a few days ago it also maxed at like 45 - today it maxed at 60 and it is not that warm in my room either. A few days ago I didn't have these problems, what could have happened? Thanks.

Welcome All! I want to start a thread/ post whatever to suggest the up most highest quality music/audio. The reason for this is to have a place where everyone can play or download music/Audio to test on there audio systems. The minimum requirements for a post is 320 Kbps, if you wish to post a piece of music/Audio that uses surround sound please mention it in your post and how many channels, as some people may want to specifically test there surround sound. "Why not just go on youtube?" Youtube audio quality is not the best giving 256Kbps or less, even if the title says 320 Kbps you can get a youtube downloader and see that its just not what you are getting: So post your suggestion's for a High quality Music/Audio in the comments for everyone to use! Also a Note: please dont link to Mainstream Music torrents or torrents in general for the sake of copyright and viruses.

PC: ASRock Fatal1ty z97x killer i5 4690k @ 3.5 ghz MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G ( newest drivers installed) Win 7 64 bit home premium( newest updates installed ) 16 gb Crucial Ballistix Sport ddr3 ram 1600 mhz Dual Monitor Setup: 1080p acer s243hl (via HDMI) 1440p Benq GW2765 (via DVI ) Hello there , i wonder if its normal that the cpu usage while gaming overwatch is quite high(80-100(!) % usage load). I play overwatch and all other games on the 1080p monitor because my setup is more confortable by doing it like that. the usage is while running overwatch only near 80-85% in-game and 50% in the start menu. normally i am also running discord and shadowplay (only for loacal record and even than only background record the last 5 minutes) and nothing else. I also got during testing it under bioshock infinite( all settings maxed out, over 200fps) the message from windows that the color scheme is making performance problems and should be changed(i use win 7 with aero design)(never happened in overwatch). In MGS:5 Gronud Zeroes and the new ftp unreal tournament( all settings maxed out ) the cpu usage is in both games around 50%. It seems to be only overwatch with the high cpu usage. Has anyone an idea why or have the same isssues?

Hi, I made a thread about this before but in the wrong section. I've had my Zalman Reserator Max 3 Dual on an i7 4790k for about a year now, and it's been working fine. A few weeks ago, i took it out to clean it, but upon reinstallation i found that my temps had skyrocketed to 90 Celcius in BIOS. The computer boots fine and everything else works. I managed to fix it by giving it 12v and shaking it a bit, but skip forward two weeks and i have the issue again. I've replaced the thermal paste several times, the LED on the pump still lights and it still makes sound. The tubes are too thick to tell if water is moving inside, but the 240mm radiator is pushing out only cold air. Any help would be greatly appricated. Thanks
