Hi Guys So I Use a Windows 10 laptop and my uncle have a old windows 7 on his old 2009 ThinkPad When I asked why didn't he upgraded to a new PC and he was like "I can only use Windows 7 comfortably and no other OS suits me and only old PC's can run it comfortably" So after I watched Linus's new video, I thought of the building a High end PC with new components running Windows 7 for him He uses Cad softwares and 3d applications daily and sometimes light gaming on his laptop So pls reply down Thanks

1. Budget and Location - preferably $4000 but am willing to go as high as $5000 for better performance (as long as its substantial enough to justify the extra grand) - Australia (so please use AUD or at least put USD after a price if you cannot be bothered converting it and I will) 2. Aim - Main focus of gaming. Specifically aimed at getting highest refresh rates possible. - I care more about fps than superior graphics but am willing to pay for a build that can do both if it fits into the budget - I usually play games (or try on my current junk) like arma 3, fortnite, pubg, elder scrolls, tomb raider etc. Basically, I want it to handle whatever games are thrown at it, and well! again, more focus on highest FPS rather than graphics 3. Monitor - current monitor is 1080p 144hz with gsync (but don't base suggestions around this, am really just looking for the most performance within the given price range and I will upgrade to a higher hertz monitor if my current 144hz one is a bottleneck) - Will upgrade to a 244hz 1440p or 1080p monitor if the build can support it - dual monitor setup would be the most i would ever do (if i upgraded to the 244hz 1440p/1080p monitor, i would use it and my current one) 4. No peripherals required (have keyboard, mouse, headphones etc) but will need a copy of windows 5. Why am i upgrading? - current 5 year old pre-built pc is dying and cannot run anything, also have a fair amount of extra cash from work and have always wanted an absolute beast of a gaming PC The main reason I am posting this is because there just seems to be a ton of conflicting posts and videos about what really is the most performant etc. and i was just getting totally lost with the amount of information there is out there. From what i gathered, a 1080Ti and i7 8700k is pretty high up there in terms of GPU's and CPU's (most people saying the 2070/2080/2080Ti and i9 9900k are just not worth it for the small increase), but from there I am pretty stumped in terms of RAM, mobo's, coolers etc and could do with some help on that. I found this video which seemed like a good base point for me to start with, could this build be altered to suite my needs? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks all

Howdy folks, Looking to build a high-end gaming rig from scratch as my first build, and hoping you can confirm or provide alternates to my thoughts on a case purchase. I don't mind paying a bit of a premium for quality and future-proofing. Background: Looking at a Ryzen 3900X build (or similar high-end AMD processor after October press release) with an ATX motherboard such as a Gigabyte X570 AORUS Master, and a 3080-series graphics card, with a couple of M.2 SSD's on the motherboard. Primary objectives with a case are strong cooling/airflow (thinking an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 mm AIO for the processor), plenty of room to build, easy access to clean dust filters, and easy-access USB-C connection for VR. I don't care a bit about RGB, and am probably happier with a case that doesn't have RGB. This will be my first build in ~ 20 years, so I'm also looking for a case that has plenty of room and makes things simple. Currently I'm leaning toward a Lian-Li O11 Dynamic XL case, and am hoping you can either confirm that as a great choice or provide a better alternative given my requirements. Thank you!

I've been an avid user of these forums for a little bit but never saw the need to make an account as most of the issues I ran into were solved. However, lately I have been getting so frustrated and I honestly need any sort of advice or help on this one, guys! My FPS on Warzone lately has been DIABOLICAL! When I say diabolical I mean I can't get over 60 FPS. I was running a solid 100+ on medium-high settings 1080p 240hz last week but suddenly for the past 3-4 days I would have 'occasional' games where i was stuck at 50-60 frames but after a quick restart it would be fine, now every single game is sub 60 frames and that's disgusting. I've tried everything, low settings, 800x600, vsync on, capped fps, uncapped fps, 66% render resolution, high priority/normal etc. Nothing seems to work. I have the most recent drivers (have also tried past drivers), have checked that the GPU is properly plugged in and not loose, the cooling is perfect. I have done every windows optimisation possible (i think?). Could it be the fact my second monitor is 60hz and runs off of an HDMI from my GPU, and my main monitor is 240hz through DVI? I'm open to anything. My GPU's temperature isn't any different, my CPU temp is the same as usual. The ONLY thing which has changed is it's CPU usage. It used to run a steady 40-70% now it's constantly 80%+ straining my whole PC. At this point I don't even know if it is relevant but my internet has been a bit iffy lately. I have the ping and packet loss monitors up on my screen when playing and rarely (more often recently though) i would get a 1000ms ping spike which would cause my game to freeze for 1-2 seconds before going back down to 30-50. I am using wireless (sadly, as ethernet isn't set up yet) and get 200+ download and 20 upload. Any help ASAP would be hugely appreciated as I take this game very seriously and need to be back on it ASAP for tourney's and Scrims. My PC specs are as follows: i9 9900k @4.9GHz RTX 2070 32GB RAM Win 10 Modern Warfare is installed on a 4TB HDD (which as about 700GB remaining), and windows 10 is installed on a 500GB nvme

I want to build a new rig for the upcoming RTX 3000 series. Too bad while i can build a pc I have no deep knowledge bout pc components. The PC will mainly be used for gaming with minor or gpu heavy tasks. The big question for me is, should i build the PC before or after the new RTX release (and buy the gpu when it releases)? On the one hand the prices may drop to boost the sales they also can go up to get the more profit. There my lack of deep knowledge rly pains. Wich is the better way to go? What do i want to spend: I have 2000€ - 2500€ (2250U$US - 2800$US) in mind. What do i take from my old rig: Only the general stuff. Mouse, keybord, Monitors i allready have. I have one 32 inch 1440p main monitor and 2 1080p 27 inch monitors + one 42 inch(?) 1080p tv wich is only on when i watch series. For the os and games etc i have a 500gb and 1tb samsung ssd. What do i have in mind: The goal is a high end gaming pc with looks in mind. Becasue of that i have some components in mind. case: NZXT H710i black/white edition. gpu: 3090ti 3080ti (sry typo). I dont know the price for one but i read 999$ somewhere. Dunno if thats anywhere the real price but i would go for a 3080 if its too expensive. cooling: NZXT KRAKEN X73. This one is just by it looks. If there is a better alternative iam open for it. psu: Nothing specific in mind but dont want to cheap that one out. Something around 750W based on what i found bout the RTX 3080ti. Since i want to use cablemod modular is needed. ram: G.Skill Trident Z / Z Neo. 16gb should be enough but i have no cluse bout the speed. motherdoard: Sry i have no clue wich motherbards are good. cpu: No idea here as well. I dont fancy amd or intel. I rly hope you can help me with this one.

Budget (including currency): $3500 USD not including peripherals. Willing to go slightly higher if needed. Country: United States Aim: This build will primarily only be used for gaming. This is my first time spending so much money on a build, and I feel I am a little out of my element with part selection. Even though I have built all my previous PCs it was never with such a wide selection and high budget so I feel like a novice builder in many respects. The primary goal is to build a rig that utilizes the new 3080 series coming out in the next month or so. I know this will eat up a majority of my budget despite not knowing a true price point yet, and I wanted to plan accordingly. As far as time is concerned I would like to order all of my other parts before the release of the new GPUs so by the time I receive it I have everything else already built and cable managed. I would like to avoid using liquid cooling options and instead use a heat sink like the "be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4". I don't really have an interest in RGB, or anything that will put out a huge amount of light or sound. If the part does have RGB its not a big deal, and I really wouldn't mind. But aesthetics are just something I don't care much about. So far I have put together some items but because of the wide selection I can't really tell if I am getting the most out of my choices. Below I linked my PC PartPicker system builder and while I think the choices are good, I feel like I don't have the most up to date knowledge to make the best choices. Playing games with my friends and family is large part of my life, and for the first time I am able to comfortably afford something this expensive. If anyone has any idea's for parts, suggestions, or comments I would really appreciate it. Hi fellow members, Im just about going nuts here ive changed just about every component in my pc and i still have problems so i wanna know are these Windows problems, or game related. The problem i am having is stuttering in many games. Games that run fine: Nfs Most Wanted 2012, Destiniy 2, The Division, Doom, RS Siege, GTA V, Deus EX Mankind devided Games that stutter; Tom Clancys Wildlands, PUBG, BF1 (even in dx11 but only starts after a couple of matches otherwise it works lag free), NFS 2015, NFS Payback, ROTTR, FO4 (sometimes runs fine sometimes stutters slightly) My specs are as follows: -Ryzen 2700x (stock, overclocking doesnt get rid of the stutter) -NZXT kraken x62 AIO -Cooler master H500P case -Gskill Trident Z RGB 16 gig 3200MHz (ryzen compatible) in dual chanell (2x8) 16-18-18-38 -ASUS Rog crosshair VI hero wifi ac -3x Samsung 960 250gb ssd, and 1tb seagate barracuda -EVGA gq650 gold certified power supply -Vertically mounted Aorus GTX1080 Xtreme (with thermaltake risesr cable, so the stuttering is not due to the riser) -asus rog 240 hz monitor (Yes i use gsync but the stuttering happens without it also) Anyways temps are fine cpu doesnt exceed 60 celsious while gaming, same goes for the gpu (i dont have a side panel on during summer so it is getting fresh air from outside of the case), tried multiple Windows reinstals (win 10 build 1803), newest drivers. Event timer disabled via comand promt, c6 state disabled, fast boot disabled, power options on ryzen balanced, disabled game mode via registry, disable defender via registry, no background processes running ( except for the vital ones), Even tried without turbo boost and SMT which made no difference. I am getting out of ideas, has anyone had similar problems with a similar system that can help? Thanks in advance everyone

Hello all, I have a Xeon QEYG Engineering sample that I bought from an ebay seller a year and a half ago now. It's superb for multi threaded applications. 2.1GHz is kinda slow, I used to be able to clock up to 2.8GHz using the core multiplyer and the base clock method however the CPU for whatever reason has become unstable. I do not wish to sell the chip as I still think ES chips are mad cool as barely anyone ever has any of them. It's always nice being able to brag that you have a 10 core thread CPU, especially before threadripper came out. 2.1GHz though, is lack luster in video games and the more I learn about VFX in after effects I realise fewer faster cores are better suited to this application, I originally bought the CPU assuming I would use it for CAD and CAD renders only however it is more than likely I will go to some form of film school and study the art of editing. I want to stick with X99 and currently have an SOC champion with 24gb of ram. I'm considering certain options before taking the plunge, also considering going itx, making my own case or other options. But I'm looking at the i7 5960x, used it is £320 from CEX (used). Alternatively I could go Ryzen 7, with the build going ITX, ironically the mobo and the cpu new combined would be cheaper than a 5960x used. This would also mean that I could keep two systems, or make the old one to sell.

Hello all, So, in maximum 2 months I want to get my dream PC. I have a budget of around 4 500$, and I want the best of the best, but to look classic at same time. For that I figured out I would want an 1080ti SLI, and Ryzen 7 2700x. I really want some opinions from you guys Do you think that by the end of this year, the new line of nVidia gpu's will launch? Below you can see the build I fixed up... The 120mm fans will be on the cooler and in front of the case and the 140mm fan will be in the back of the case. I went with the black-white scheme.

Hello everyone, for the upcoming school year i have decided to buy a new laptop to carry around and do some gaming. but i'd prefer a laptop with high end components (i'll run some pretty demanding programs for stuff like 3D modeling) without the "red and black" gaming look a lot of laptops have. My budget is around 1200-1300 euros (USD prices are fine) Thanks in advance!

First I'll get this out of the way, I'm all thumbs when it comes to putting together a PC so that's why I want to buy a pre built computer. I have dealt with things the hard way so this is one of the reason why I want an option where a professional can do the wizard work they do instead of giving myself grief. I'm also waiting on the new Intel and GPU's to come out before I actually do a new rig, waiting is a killer but I feel it's a good idea to do so when the timing is so close. That leaves of course a problem..........who do I buy from? Americans sure get a lot of choices but a professional custom built PC from a reliable Canadian seller feels........lacking. Or maybe I'm not looking at the right spots. Sure you can get some decent PC pre built systems from a few choices but none are exactly what I want like SLI. Yes I know it's a waste these days a lot but it's one of those things. You know what I mean, still want it. Plus I wouldn't mind have some actual customization options to tweak things so I can get the system I want. There must be places out there that no matter where you are in Canada you can get such choice. I can't say I trust sellers like Ibuypower or the like. Everyone seems to hate Alienware these days. So where do you go. Anyone know? Someone trustworthy that can help get me the build I want and not worry about how it'll be shipped. What does a Canuck do.

Hi guys. Recently I have been having a lot of trouble with a new PC I have built. It is just 2 months old. Specs are as follows. - Intel Core i5 8600k (stock speed at the moment) - Asus GTX 1080 - Asus ROG Strix Z370-H Gaming motherboard - Corsair H80i Liquid Cooler - Intel Optane PCIe 280GB SSD - Silverstone ET650-HG Modular 650w Gold PSU - Seagate Barracuda 4TB - Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200 RAM I am beyond confused as to why I am getting these issues. Sometimes when it boots it is INCREDIBLY slow, as if it is running off a hard drive. Programs take forever to load (Chrome can take up to 10 seconds to even just launch, then more time to load the pages). Sometimes after booting it seems to be ok, still a little slow, but a lot better. I have checked the CPU usage and sometimes it spikes to 100% for only a second. I have tried the following: - Overclocking CPU - Setting RAM to its XMP - Updating/Flashing BIOS - Running RAM at stock speeds - Using the TRIM feature - Reinstalling Windows 10 - Running the PC without the hard drive connected - Disabling any programs to launch on startup that don't need to be open. - Running the SSD in another PCIe slot. I was able to deal with it for a while, but now it is getting to the point where it is really annoying me, considering how much I spent on the PC (yes, I probably didn't need to buy an Optane drive) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Should I buy the AMD 2990WX just because it is cheaper and performs 53% better than Intel's flagship? And even if I buy one, will it game better than any other (Intel) CPUs? I would not like move to AMD and I have been a loyal customer to Intel and don't have any AMD CPU (have a GPU though) . This shall be my first time buying an AMD CPU. Do you think it is worth buying a 32 cores top of the line work station CPU for gaming, Streaming, content creation and some AI programming? (Gaming and Streaming come first! )

Hello everyone, Long time lurker here, I would require some assistance in regards to getting a laptop which I would use for college and gaming. Unfortunately I have never owned a laptop before so I have no experience in brand "quality" or who has better thermals or is more reliable than the other. Unfortunately I am forced to buy a laptop which will be mostly used for programming (python,Java,c++,etc.) but I would also like to play some video games such as CSGO, Witcher3, etc. Why do I say forced, well because I always had a desktop until now, and now I am forced to go mobile. I wouldn't like to waste my time in repasting things once I buy one, opening it or re-installing the OS, etc. So I am looking for something solid. Based on my research this so far is my top pick: Asus rog strix gl703gs Intel 6 core 12 threads (possible heating issues?) 144hz screen for a good CSGO fragging sessions 16gb Ram Gtx 1070(NOT max q version) 1tb hdd 256gb ssd The price for this laptop is €1900, well within budget. My budget is around max €2200(2700$), I am located in Ireland and unfortunately Amazon is pretty bad in terms of coverage for delivery. In terms of pricing please take into consideration that the equivalent in US dollar is not comparable exactly as most laptops here are more expensive than in the US anyway. I was also considering buying a good specd laptop with a 60hz screen and then getting a 144hz monitor?! <---opinions? So when I come home I can just attach it at the desk and game on that. I am pretty much stuck with 2-3 options such as Argos.ie, laptopsdirect.ie,custompc.ie and curry's pc world. The first and the last option are abysmal in terms of offers and quality, so basically I am down to the other two. Do you guys also think I should wait for a new line of laptops with RTX cards, or just go ahead and get one now. My college is about to start on 24th of September and I would need one laptop until then ?

Hey all I'm looking to hunt down a working Sony FH7 Mk 2 complete with CD player and Record Player and all in Silver. I would prefer if it were an Australian/NZ unit, however, I will consider ones from other countries if shipping is available at a relatively affordable price. It must have everything and be in good condition functionally and visually. Thanks all

Alright so i'm a 14 year old boyo who is Asian (totally irrelevant sorry) who has owned a prebuilt from IBP from 2015 until now that consists of a i5-4460 as well as a 750 Ti (that i gave to my friend and my pc currently has a 1080 in it for my next build coming up soon) as well as 8 gigs of DDR3 ram ;-;. For my birthday i'm being spoiled and getting parts for my first ever build as my birthday present this year. I've been researching for about 6-7 months now while I was in school and I'm pretty sure I managed to learn most if not all the basics and then some. I just wanted to see what you guys thought and maybe could give me tips or advice that I might not know or might forget while building. Here is my PCPartPicker list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sQrmLJ Check it out c:

So, I'm wanting to start a new build from scratch. My budget is a bit flexible, however I'd like to stay within the 1000$ range. I'm selling my current gaming PC for a bit under 800, so anything over comes from out of pocket. Currently, this is what I have thrown together: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rhPQyX The hardest part for me is the cpu, ram, and gpu. I have watched too many videos on RYZEN vs INTEL, and don't know which I should go with. IMPORTANT: This build is only being created because I wanted something nice to look at and perform with. I would like as much black/RGB as possible. (Hence the TridentZ RGB RAM.) I was set for RYZEN, but I stumbled across a refurbished ASUS ROG STRIX Z270E GAMING Z270 1151 ATX Gaming Motherboard. It is going for around 120$ and that seems too good to not take. If it's worth it, I may swap the ASUS STRIX b350 for this. As for the GPU, I would like as much as possible. Since I'd be spending so much, I expect some kinda RGB. The ASUS STRIX line of GTX Gpus is very intriguing. If needed the budget can be stretched. Any help is appreciated, thanks! QUESTIONS: For this budget range, (1000-1200ish) should I go with RYZEN or INTEL? Should I ditch the Ryzen+b350-f for the deal on the LGA 1151 motherboard? Should I get a basic (black) 1070/ti or go for the RGB OG 1060? EDIT: I already have a case and CPU cooler, case is the Cooler Master Masterbox Pro 5 RGB, Cpu cooler is the MasterLiquid ML120L RGB

Hi Guys, need some helping minds. 1. Budget & Location Budget : 1800USD , Location : India. (duty inc) 2. Aim 3D Work, Photoshop, Illustrator, Multithreading, smoother timeline./ user interface., Better experience. 3. Monitors 1) PD3200U , 4K benq (main) 2) GW2760 , FHD, benq (bin) 4. Peripherals Looking for recommendation on CPU, GPU, Board ,PSU 5. Why are you upgrading? Looking for reo My current system lacks enough horsepower to meet the needs. It slows down my productivity. specs : 6600k, 25gb RAM and 2gb 960gtx gpu. I would like to keep the RAM if possible but I think If Iam going Ryzen , I might have to replace them. I would like to avoid such situation at best because there is no resale value for used RAm. and they are like 1yr + old. but if it can improve performance over a certain percentage, which can be noticable, I can replace them. but I need some suggestions.. I lack practical knowledge when it comes to high end pc specs. Any help is much apreciated.. Thanks guys

Alright so, this is my first post (in any forum like this, really) so bare with me a little. I'm planning on building the biggest and baddest (the good kind of bad) rig I can, money is not a problem unless I hit the $13K mark or so, but other than that everything should be fine. I'm building this computer because I've been gaming since I have memory on the worst possible hardware (and consoles) given that I come from a third world country (Venezuela), but I moved to the States and I'm ready to have the full enthusiast experience. I'm buying all the parts on December so the list of part will change as time goes, especially if a new CPU gen from Intel/AMD or GPU from NVIDIA/AMD is released that exceeds the ones in the current build. A quick rundown of my build is this: (Part list is here -> https://pcpartpicker.com/user/mamimami/saved/mGBXHx) I may be new to building but I've following Linus and other multiple computer hardware channels for around three years, so I think I get most of the basics when it comes to building a PC or choosing the components. By the way, if you know the components, you may have already noticed that every single component is RGB lit and most of them work with Asus' Aura Sync, I'm also trying to mimic Linus' ultimate RGB build he did a year ago while still upgrading the components to match the most powerful for the time (part of it is just to piss of a friend that hates RGB components). Also I'm aware of the electricity costs, don't worry. The things I need most help with at the moment are simple things that I have not been able to find anywhere, which are: How often should I maintain my cooling loop? Is it very hard to actually assemble the loop and get everything in place? Is it fine to run one monitor on the slave GPU while the other two are on the main one, since the GPUs only have 2 Displayports, meaning one must run on a different card? Does overclocking hurt the components as bad even if they are extremely cooled? Is there anything I may be missing or any component that could be upgraded? Do I use kryonaut also for the GPUs and the water blocks? Or how does those work? How much is "enough" thermal paste? If you can answer any of those questions, please reply to this post with the number before the answer, and thanks for reading! EDIT: More questions! (6-7) EDIT2: Hit the $12K mark, so all the current components will stay as they are until RAM prices go down and new components are out, hopefully the successor to the GTX 1080 will run 4K games like it's nothing.

Snow Candy the Monochromatic RGB goodness. Hardware Watercooling Peripherals ETC So these are the FULL specs! Down to the detail! I don't wanna hold anyone off so here's some beatuy shots on an Imgur album (High quality photo of my delidded 8700k at the very bottom!) IMGUR ALBUM So here's a couple things to note: The GPU block plates, both radiators and powersupply are fully custom painted in a pure satin white from motip, The Radiator mount ontop is fully custom aswell which has been cut by a 1.2M$ 10'000kW Lasercuter (Work related). All of the RGB is driven (Including the keyboard and mouse!) by Aura sync and some syncing software called "RGB Sync" from Darthaffe and CyanLabs on github. The stickers were manufactured in switzerland from StickerYeti (Had to buy 50 of em at once lol..) I also had to reuse the GPU Led Controller from the original Cooler because the Phanteks boards were both asynced colors (yellow showed as green, etc.) RGB Goodness: YouTube So all of this in mind. You probably want some Benchmarks now aswell. So here ya go! Validation CPU-Z Validation Benchmarks Time Spy Extreme Time Spy Unigine Heaven 4.0 Unigine Superposition 1080p Extreme Unigine Superposition 8k Optimized Edite: Fixed spelling Mistake and updated the Unigine Heaven Benchmark Edit2: Added 32GB to the ram.. forgott that lol..

Hello everyone, This is my first post on the forum and also my first time building my own PC. I considered purchasing a prebuilt unit from a company like Digital Storm or Maingear but 1. Their prices seemed abhorrently high/marked up and 2. I wanted very specific things done to my system performance-wise and aesthetically and I didn't think I would be holistically satisfied if I didn't plan, purchase, and build my rig myself. So at this point, I have already purchased all the hardware I think I need and everything has either already shipped on its way to me or has arrived already. My parts list is as follows: Case- NZXT H700i (includes 3 120mm intake fans and 1 140mm exhaust, 2 LED strips, and integrated smart controller for fans and lighting) Motherboard- Gigabyte AORUS Z370 Gaming 5 LGA 1151 WiFi Processor- Intel core i7 8700k Processor cooling solution- NZXT Kraken X72 Memory- 32gb (4x8gb sticks) G Skill Trident RGB 3000mhz Storage- Samsung 960 EVO NVMe series 250gb M.2 SSD, Seagate Nytro 512gb SATA SSD Video Card- EVGA FTW3 GTX 1080ti Hybrid water cooled GPU Power Supply- EVGA SuperNova G3 750w 80 Plus Gold As far as displays go I have 2 VIOTEK 32 inch 144hz refresh rate, 4ms response time, 1440p monitors on the way which I'll be mounting to the wall in a dual setup (one on top of another) via articulating VESA arms (I already ordered the adapters for VIOTEK's weird mounting hub). I also decided to be legit lol and purchase Windows 10 home edition for full price instead of trying to find a license key somewhere online. So after all that, I basically have 5 questions for the community: 1. I did as much research as I could in respect to compatibility but from what you see is this list compatible and will I have an okay-alright time putting these parts together and assembling my rig to a moment of powering on and booting up "out of the box" (knock on wood!)? 2. Is there anything I missed in regards to the build or to achieve my goal of constructing a high-end workstation/gaming platform? 3. Do you recommend anything or have any tips for a first time, tech loving n00blet like myself once all the parts come in and I start building? 4. What do you recommend I setup in regards to case airflow and my two AIO radiators (CPU and GPU). Should I stick with the NZXT fans that come with the case and the Kraken X72 and the 1 that comes with the EVGA FTW3 GPU? 5. Is there anything (within reason) that you would change or add to help streamline my rig and goals of a workstation/gaming platform or to the setup altogether (monitors, arrangement, etc.)? Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to reply. I'm beyond excited to be baptized by RGB-fire into the glorious PC Master Race. *insert giggles*

After saving up for a while, I now have about 2000 EU to spend on a new high-end laptop. I've been looking at a few options like the XPS 15 and the Gigabyte Aero 15, but I figured it can't hurt to check with the forums. I'm looking for a laptop with these specs minimum: Quad core i7 16gb Ram An SSD And dedicated graphics Now, I'll be using the laptop for extended periods of time for my education, so a decent battery life would be nice, but even more important than that are thermals. I'd like a laptop that doesn't thermal throttle under extended loads. I don't care too much for the trackpad, since I'll be using a mouse, but a good keyboard is a must.

My friend and I are planning to create a small VR animation production studio in the near future, and we currently do not have any computer that even somewhat capable of handling 3D rendering at the level we'll need. I wanted opinions on what would actually be necessary or just too beneficial to exclude. We're US based and want to keep the budget as low as possible, but are realistic as to the cost of a system like this, preferably under 2.5k though, if that's reasonable. Additionally, would it be more beneficial to just make a solid PC and some render boxes, or a PC that can handle the rendering on its own? We plan to use 3 monitors, mouse and keyboard, and a digital drawing tablet/screen for peripherals. Thank you
