Hello everyone, so I recently got a SOYO RX 5700 XT from AliExpress. I knew beforehand it was a gamble, and kinda expected the card to underperform. What I did not expect is a detached substrate stiffener, I found out this morning when trying to replace the thermal paste. My question is can it be fixed / attached ? And How ? GPU works btw, runs a bit hot but works.
-
Hello all, been having issues with my CPU for the past few weeks. Some days its ok, other days its not. About 2 Days ago, I bought new thermal paste and it worked like a peach until today. It makes me curious on what the issue actually is. A few months ago, I replaced some fans, and made sure the directions are correct. My water cooler seems ok, so Im really stumped. Here's all the stats I got from my sensors on my CPU. Is my CPU toast? I don't really know what I'm looking at other than high temp ofc. This SS is from just watching a YT video

I've never seen this odd behavior in my life. Please help me. I believe this is related to the core issue of the problem. Let me set the scene: newly built PC, fresh install of Windows 10 with only the necessary drivers for the motherboard installed. I open up Edge to get the installer for the Discord application and go onto Nvidia's website to get the newest drivers for my graphics card. I'm sitting here with fresh Windows 10, nothing installed, just a blank desktop with just two installers, Discord and Nvidia. I click on the Discord installer and it crashes with some Java error. Okay, fine, I think, it's a fresh install of Windows. I restart the computer and try again, but the Discord application installer crashes once more. Odd. I try again and it crashes again. So, I try the Nvidia installer, which loads up to 28 percent and crashes with some 7Zip CRC Error. I think, okay, really fun and great. I decide to look up the error but find nothing very helpful, and I don't follow anyone's advice. I decide in that moment, 'I WILL INSTALL THIS.' For the next 20-30 minutes, I click on the installer and it crashes every time. But, someone one time said something about not giving up, so I just keep clicking. I click one last time, get up, and run around my house like a buffoon. When I come back to my computer later, the install has worked. I'm shocked. I ended up doing a similar thing for Discord, and the application eventually installed. I don't know what the heck is going on with this computer, but I really hope someone has a good reason for why that worked, even though it really didn't. I may have installed the drivers and Nvidia and Discord, and even a game eventually, but the game and Discord crash after opening. Discord opens for 2 minutes, then crashes, same with the game. So, I may have won and installed them, but they don't work. Please help, this is too odd for me. So I first discovered this problem when i was trying to play roblox and warzone on my pc, i would get like 5 fps on warzone and some random days i would get like 15 fps on roblox on the lowest graphics settings. I fixed the roblox issue by closing my extremely large amount of browser tabs open, but this didnt help warzone. I did a usertesting benchmark and it said everything is underperforming EXCEPT my hdd. I never checked if it was doing this before, but all games ran completely playable on low settings 1080p. PC specs: gtx 1650 super ryzen 5 3600 2x8gb tforce rgb 3600mgz ddr4 evga 600w psu silver certification 120gb m.2 ssd asrock b450m steel legend mobo 1tb velociraptor 10000rpm hdd Additional info that might be helpful: I leave my pc running 24/7 with a restart around every month i used to cryptomine on it (but reset my pc afterwards) my m.2 ssd is very full and by hdd is about 3/4 full the screen used to glitch out a ton and the audio would get all messed up when i bumped into the pc even slightly, but does not do this anymore, idk why it stopped i tried to overclock the ram and about 2 weeks later the pc would constantly crash, had to bring it to best buy and they said my os got corrupted(not sure if related) task manager says no heating issues, and no resources really get past 30 percent use even when playing games(havent tested heavy load games) i occasionally edit videos on my pc i already cleaned out about 70 percent of the dust, my spray can was kinda weak though pc about 2-3 years old the ssd couldnt get tested properly, idk why though Any help is very appreciated, i will try to put a picture of my benchmark results

I have looked around what laptop to buy, but there are too many options. So i was wondering if you could help me. My use cases are: running some docker containers (ex databases, and web applications locally), compiling rust and c++, modeling in FreeCad, content consumption, writing code. My preferences: linux would be appreciated, the price shouldn't be more then 1200usd, don't mind it if its used, Max 16inche screen(but 14 is preferred) Good enough so i can last about 5 years a fairly good keyboard I'm willing to go up in price if there is a good reason. Thanks in advance

Hi, my games have been crashing loads lately while giving graphics errors. I have tried numerous things to fix the issue. My latest attempt to fixing the problem was a complete reinstall of windows on a different drive which did not help. This makes me think the problem is not software related. Could my GPU be dying? It has no artifacting problems just the crashes. My GPU is a Gigabyte RTX 2060 OC edition and I have had it for about 4 years. It currently reaches 77 C while at 99% usage at most but it used to be at 83 C at 99% usage all the time before I fixed that issue (for about 2 years). I had this problem in Valorant and Minecraft but it has not occurred since I set my max FPS to 160 and the GPU usage stays below 60%. I do still have the problem in Fortnite where the GPU usage is over 95%. The crash does not happen instantly it always happens about 15 minutes after starting the game and will then do it about every 3 minutes after the first crash when relaunching the game. The rest of my specs: CPU: Intel core I5-13600KF Motherboard: MSI mpg b760i edge wifi RAM: 2x Trident Z Royal 8gb DDR4 3200 mHz SSD: WD Black SN850X 2tb PSU: 500W from BE QUIET! Let me know if you have any idea what could cause the issue and how to resolve it. Thanks!

I just recently bought a monitor online because I can barely see my editing work in DaVinci Resolve and I'm using a laptop as my main item. The monitor works fine and well and the monitor is an N-Vision N2455 and its connected to my laptop through HDMI and it works fine and well except for one thing, opening old games. In the video shown it doesn't work well on old games on my laptop and the only way I fix that is by removing and reconnecting the HDMI again. NFS Most Wanted was downloaded on a free website but I paid for Vice City on Steam and this issue only occurs when opening old games. I asked the seller I bought it for online and they said they said I could send the monitor to their nearest service center and I would make my decision when the new Vention HDMI I bought just arrived yesterday did nothing to help the issue except having a good HDMI than the included one with the monitor. Is this a software thing that can be pressed with a few buttons or some troubleshooting (I also need help and instructions for that) or should I ask to replace my monitor and I don't want a refund because I need a monitor. I can submit more video proof if needed and my laptop is an ASUS Vivobook X515JAB_X515JA Video Links because the file is too big https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DBXTpxszCDDfgfz9M6TladtslX7hW6dC/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DBDLO3iFKdhk50SifYuf0y2zlmKFP21O/view?usp=sharing

Im looking to get a 240hz monitor and was hoping for help and suggestions. Im looking for a 1440p, 240hz monitor with very good colour accuracy as I will be using it for light editing work and gaming, Doesn't require HDR and the editing is nothing fancy just short form videos mostly so doesn't need pro specs by any means. my budget is around 500 obviously id prefer to keep it cheaper if possible but willing to go up to 1k. Im based in Ireland if that helps at all for getting an idea for pricing. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this I'm new to the forum. Thank you for the help.

So I've seen several videos/clips from YT of RX 6800 performing at stable 900 mV undervolt and draining about 160W power max. The thing is that I haven't been able to do so with the AMD Adrelanin Performance Tuning. Current setup I'm using is Core Clock Min: 2275 MHz Core Clock Max: 2375 MHz Voltage: 910 mV Memory Timing: Fast Timing VRAM Clock: 2112 MHz Zero RPM Fan: enabled Advanced Fan Control: - 30°C→35% - 50°C→45% - 65°C→60% - 75°C→80% - 85°C→100% Power Limit: 10% (maxed) During load, the Core Clock and VRAM clock were operating within the specified value (VRAM being closer to 2100 MHz and Core Clock is closer to 2350 MHz most of the time). However, the voltage can shoot up to 968 mV and Power drain can reach up to 200W. Only within small window the voltage dropped to 868 mV. So, my immediate tuning would be reduce the voltage from 910 mV to something lower. I treid 900 mV, 890 mV, 880 mV, 870 mV, 860 mV, 850 mV... and nope. 850 mV was too low of a voltage when I'm just using my PC for web-browsing/ watching YT videos. Because it pushed the actual voltage under 800 mV. Even with 910 mV setting, under low usage, the operating voltage actually dropped to 868 mV most of the time instead of staying at 910 mV all the time. So what if I tune down the core clock? I did try lowering the min and max by 15/25 MHz per step.... Well, it does lower the voltage under load (it can go to just under 916 mV under load), but at the same time, also lower the minimum voltage on low GPU utilization to 830 mV, making the system kinda unstable to the point that AMD Adrenalin got restarted and reverted the tuning back to default setting. So, I'm at loss here, what kind of tuning so that I can get a stable 900 mV under load? Or rather... my concern is actually on power draw: How do I get ~160W power draw with similar performance under stock setting by undervolting? Or maybe the showcases I saw on YT are different under different game? Or maybe that because the newer AMD Adrenaline software no longer gives option of 15% power limit (it's capped at 10% on my this v24.2.1), then I couldn't quite get the result of those old benchmark?

I have a 300GB VHDX file that I need to transfer and convert to a new ProxMox server, that has default installation settings. The issues I am running into: 1. The local directory is max 240Gb and I need to know how to transfer the file that's 300GB (whatever that looks like) to the ProxMox server. 2. LVM storage and why I can't use it to store files 3. Creating a VM within ProxMopx with that converted Vhdx file I NEED YOU TO TALK TO ME LIKE I'M A DUMMY, I'M VERY NEW TO THIS. I keep running into people saying things like "just allocate a new file system with CMD" but not explaine how to do it. Thanks for any help! The server has a 1TB drive in it

Hey. So... I have a new PC and I have been having some problems with it. Specifically with the GPU. (i think) I will give the full specks at the bottom. (GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus) My PC was working fine just a few days ago, as in I was able to play my games on ultra without problem, but I got an NVIDIA update and then after it finished, the games on Steam and Epic started not using the GPU for the games and the CPU started to absolutely throttle. Updating the driver was the only thing that I did. I then thought that the update was the problem, so I rolled it back, but the problem still persisted. I then restarted the system and now only a few games actually use the GPU when on. Those games would be games like AmongUs, CaveCrawlers, any game on EA, and Helldivers2. All of my other games like Hogwarts legacy, The Finals, Halo: MCC, and Warframe, still don't work. Let me know if there is anything else that yall would need to help me in this. Thanks Specks: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II ATX AM4 Motherboard Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 12G GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 12 GB Video Card PSU: EVGA 500 BQ 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

New rx 5700XT not displaying a picture (Prob Driver issue)
JamisonP posted a topic in Graphics Cards
My RX 5700 XT that i bought on ebay isnt displaying a picture and I have deduced it is most likley a driver issue. How Do I install drivers to the card when I cant even access bios? Motherboard displays VGA light and no onboard cpu graphics. I really need help, any insight would be appreciated. -
My computer has been waking itself up from hibernation for the last 4-5 months. For the longest time I couldn't figure out what made it do it, until someone recommended me to run cmd command showing last wake up info. Turned it, every single time it was ASMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller. I've done a lot of googling trying to sort the matter; updated the driver for this (and others) controller, but nothing seems to help. Can anyone recommend a solution? P.S. I made sure to tick the mark "do not allow this device to wake the computer up", so it's not it

Hi, I'm currently doing one of my last SAT for one of my units and its a report on a chosen subject, I've decided to go with DLSS and I'm currently in the process of collecting unmanipulated, secondary data. I'm kindly asking (kind of desperately) for anybody who has any spreadsheets comparing DLSS on and off between different GPU's and is willing to share towards my study, since when I can't find any on the web, only manipulated data in forms of graphs. Any advice to get this data would be appreciated too, Thankss Also planning to collect Primary data very soon too! Forgot to specify, The focus on my study is the increase of performance with DLSS. The research question is: To what extent does the utilisation of Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) impact the efficiency of frame generation in computer graphics?

Budget (including currency): 300 euros Country: Romania Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Baldur's Gate 3,Enshrouded,RDR2,Starfield,Elden Ring (gaming in general) Other details : So It's been a few days since I'm looking for a newer GPU because I'm not satisfied anymore with the one that I have atm and I'm just exhausted because I don't know what to pick between RX 6600 / RTX 3060 12 GB / RTX 3050 8 GB. My only concern is bottlenecking and since I don't want to change anything but my GPU I know bottlenecking can't be avoided but still I don't know what would be the best case in this scenario. Maybe I need to look for weaker GPU'S? I really don't know. (I don't want to buy second hand components also). I appreciate ANY opinion at this point. Just please help me make the right choice. My current setup : Processor :i5-9400F 2.90 GHZ GPU : 1060 GTX 3GB Motherboard : B360M-A SOCKET LGA1151 PSU : 500 W RAM : 24 GB 2400 MHZ Let me know If I need to be more specific with any information.

Hello I've got a problem with my pc it powers up and boots like normal just 1 fan doesn't work which it stays on for 5 minutes then at that point the monitor loses signal and all audio cuts out but the whole pc stays on keyboard and mouse RGB all on and no problems on the motherboard light up until I press reset it has signal then cuts out I try again and the VGA led on mobo lights up red at this point I've also tried 2 monitors and my TV and they all do it Specs not sure on all but can find out if needed I7 3770 I believe Gtx 970 16 GB ram P9x79 pro mobo I've taken it to 2 different computer shops the first swapped the GPU and it worked fine for a few months then it started getting the same problem again so I took it back and they didn't have any problem with it they bought it back and it didn't work so I took it to a different shop and they didn't get the problem but when they bought it back same problem again I've looked all online and can't find anything really except one person on Reddit who had the exact same problem including the shops finding no problems and it didn't happen to them and he said when he took it back the last time they found a defect my GPU was originally swapped out but that wasn't a brand new GPU it's just one the shop had put the back could this be defected the same as the first if that was the problem with the first? I don't have much money so don't wanna buy a new GPU and find it has the same problem if anyone needs more info I can find out for you I also have a couple videos of what happens if that'll help Edit I've tried using 1 stick of ram only used 2 of my 4 to test and I was wrong about my CPU it's actually an i7 3960x

Brand new PC is having black screen crashes in Destiny 2. Long story short, I just built a brand new computer last week (specs below). On first boot, I wanted to test my most-played game, Destiny 2, and was super happy to see it maxing out with 144fps and FreeSync-type smoothness. However, over the past week, Destiny has been crashing randomly, sometimes even as I first load into an area. I have done just about every Reddit/YouTube troubleshoot in the book, still to no avail. My PC seems to run fine in everything else, it's just Destiny that has constant issues. I'll summarize the list of issues below, including specs, and the common error code when my system crashes. Issue: Destiny 2 black screen after playing for anywhere between 1-20 minutes, booted back to windows home screen, presented with error code "Broccoli" (GPU issue in-game), restart required to open Destiny again. In game before crashes is very stuttery, lots of screen tearing. PC is still running after crash, no MB debug lights come on, and I'm able to use most desktop apps post-crash as well. Things I've noticed: No GPU or CPU temperature peaking during crashes, super high scores with no crashing 3DMark or Heaven, no issues in other games, VRAM MHz sits around 1000 even when idle, game sits around 75-85% GPU utilization in intensive areas. Tweaks to my system I've made: XMP enabled on RAM, CPU undervolted to max 85W, tested GPU clock speed to max at 3000MHz, undervolted to 1050mV, power limit increase to 15% (all stable but not in Destiny). Fixes I've tried that haven't worked: 1. Resolution tweaks with CRU to reduce idle VRAM MHz. 2. Disable and fully delete Xbox game bar. 3. Reset GPU overclock to out-of-box tuning. 4. DDU graphics drivers. 5. Went back to old drivers that were "more stable" for the 7x00 series of AMD cards. 6. Windows memory test (just to make sure it wasn't the RAM). 7. Set power plan to high performance, also giving Destiny 2 high priority graphics settings. 8. Updated chipsets and BIOS. 9. Verified game files via Steam. 10. Disabled full screen optimization (this has helped with overall smoothness). Error Code: Display driver amduw23g stopped responding and has successfully recovered. This is the error code I have been receiving every crash. I'm not 100% sure this is the culprit, but there are no other warning codes around the crashing times. People on reddit whop receive this code seem to have similar issues to my own. I have linked a pic of this error code below. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit Log: Few hours after posting this, I'm having worse stutters in game. I ran a strike with no crashes, and I had GPU-Z handy on my second monitor. GPU-Z shows that when these stutters happen, the following drop to zero or near zero: GPU clock, GPU load, Board Power Draw, and GPU voltage. These stutters are like skipping frames, imagine freezing for half a second before the game goes right back to normal. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 7700x GPU: AMD Radeon 7800xt RAM: G.skill 6000Mhz CL32 MB: MSI B650-p Wifi PSU: Thermaltake GF1 850W (2024) Case: Corsair 3000D Monitor: Dell S2716DG (GSync, no FreeSync) Thank you to everyone who responds with help. I'm hoping I'm able to figure this out soon.

Hello, I'm going to sound like the biggest wuss ever but I need to update my bios for a certain update. Now I'm actually scared of doing this but I know what I'm doing. For some reason I think my power is going to suddenly go out and that's it for my motherboard even though it has a dual bios. Why am I like this, I don't understand why I can't bring myself to update the bios. Any ways on whihc I can reassure myself. Many Thanks, Fire!

Hi. I can not set my refresh rate above 120Hz with 10-bit color depth. It automatically switches to 8-bit. Even though my monitor claims 170Hz, it's only usable at a maximum of 120Hz with 10-bit. Is this a cable or monitor issue? My monitor model: VX2780J-2K Cable: Ugreen 80391 DisplayPort 1.4 cable. GPU: 4070

My pc has been crashing while gaming and i havent found anything after many stress tests and driver reinstalls that points to a common issue except for this event viewer error -------------------------------------- A fatal hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Machine Check Exception Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor APIC ID: 5 --------------------------------------- I have no idea what this means or what to do. The Processor APIC ID isnt always 5, sometimes its 0 or 6 but all the rest of the error is consistent. the more demanding the game, the more likely this will occur. NO BSOD, just maybe a few seconds of a green frozen screen or just black screen then instant restart. the audio also glitches while the crash is happening sometimes. WHat does this mean? How can I resolve this? What should I try first? Specs: Radeon RX 5700, Ryzen 7 5800x, 16gb ram ddr4 3600mhz, rog strix x-570-e gaming motherboard, EVGA supernova 650w G3. What ive tried: DDU the video driver countless times and using old and latest amd drivers, testing all components under max load in stress tests, clearing shader cache and cpu cache, memtests and disk checks multiple times, reseating gpu and switching ram dimm slots. None of these have stopped the crashes from happening.

Hi all, I recently switched from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. It may be important to note that I initially upgraded from a 3600 & RTX 3070 to a 5800X3D and 7900 XT, and was running a stress test with Prime95 & Furmark at once on a 750W PSU. The computer immediately shut down, so I upgraded to a 1000W PSU and don't have this issue anymore. They both run fine at the same time (could this have damaged by CPU/motherboard causing this issue?). I was idling fine on the 3600 around 35 C, but this 5800 idles around 65-70 C. I've asked around on Reddit and other forums and everyone seems to agree that these temps are way too high. From what other people post, I should be seeing around 30 to 40 C idling (when I say "idle", I mean with Discord, Steam, and HWiNFO open at once). I've tried the following: Disabled A-XMP in my BIOS (made no difference, so I turned it back on) Updated my BIOS Reset CMOS Swapped out the kryosheet I re-used from my 3600 for a new one Changing the cooler from a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 to a DeepCool Assassin IV Changing from a kryosheet to thermal paste Nothing I've done has changed the temps and I'm completely lost at this point. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 32 GB (4x8 GB) DDR4 3200 RAM (3200 w/ A-XMP on) (if the brand matters it's TEAM Group TFORCE) MSI B450 Tomahawk (latest BIOS revision as of this post, not Tomahawk MAX) AMD 7900 XT Corsair RM1000E 1000W PSU I'm using HWiNFO to read my temps, and reading the Tctl/Tdie temp. Screenshot If anyone can point me in the right direction here as to what I'm doing wrong, I would GREATLY appreciate it. The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling Windows, but I'm not sure how/why that would help.

So... After a while, I finally got around to installing my brand new Crucial MX500 4TB... and it isn't working. It does not show up in the Windows Explorer, but my BIOS does detect it. I am very confused... I also know that I plugged it into a working SATA-Port, namely no.2 - 5&6 don't work because I have a M.2 installed. I use the B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard btw. If anyone else experienced this issue with the Crucial MX500, please let me know. I don't want to realize I have bought a 300€ paperweight. Thanks!
