Hi everyone, I am at a bit of a loss. I have a pretty badass PC, RTX 4090, 7800X3D, 32gb of ram, gen4 SSDs. It generally treats me well but when I connect my Samsung 4k tv to it, the whole computer hangs and is totally unresponsive for between 1-3 minutes. I am using HDMI 2.0 for the TV as all of my DisplayPorts are taken up by three monitors. Making other changes like switching the TV to game mode (120 hz) from regular mode also cause this hanging to happen. It does not happen when unplugging the tv. It does eventually work, but its very strange that it happens every time. This kind of thing has never happened to me with my laptops or older desktops. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if I have forgotten any details. I have no screenshots to post as the issue is just a freeze. Thanks!

I’ve been trying to choose an Ultrawide to buy. I’m looking at getting a 49” one, and the one that seems to have all the bells and whistles I want is the AOC Agon AG493UCX2 The bells and whistles being (these are non-negotiable): Similar display rate and pixel density as my current dual monitors (currently two Gigabyte M29Q) Display port and HDMI. As well as USB C with power and data transfer so I can charge my work laptop with the same cable I’m using to display it when I WFH PBP (PIP would be a plus) so I can have my PS5 on one side and be able to browse the internet on the other I was looking at the Samsung G9 Odyssey as I can get it nearly half off at the moment, but I don’t think it has what I want

alright so the problem is that when I launch a game my screen randomly goes black within a few minutes, its inconsistent and only happens most of the time, and the audio either loops, as in like when I'm shooting in the game it just keeps looping that sound or it just straight up freezes, this used to happen when I wasn't in a game too but I managed to fix it (I think) but the funny thing is that when the screen went black in my desktop when I pressed a button on my keyboard I hear an error noise, all of these problems can only be fixed when I either hold down the power down button or I pressed the hard reset button on my case. Also, my gpu wouldn't turn on with my pc so I reseated a couple of times till it powered on. Here is a list of what I tried in order to fix my computer: 1 :reset bios 2 :update bios 3 :reinstall graphics drivers 4 :disable XMP 5 :disable ULPS in reg editor 6 :sometimes the screen would be black when I started it so I reseated the ram till it worked 7 :reseated gpu 8 :updated Windows 9 :put my power plan on balanced instead of ultimate performance and that's about it, here's a list of my pc components: Zotac twin edge before rtx 4070 12gb gpu AMD R5 7600x cpu asrock b650m pg riptide mobo cooler master g700 psu oloy blade ddr5 5600mhz ram samsung 980 SSD hyper 212 spectrum v3 cpu cooler also an additional bit of information, I'm using an outlet extension to power my 2 monitors and pc. Thanks for reading.

Hi all! So I've been asking around Reddit and the general consensus is for the most part it will be fine but I'm hoping I can get a more expert or at least more educated answer before I try to daisy chain my 7900xtx. I made the mistake of ordering the NZXT C1200 watt Gold power supply assuming it had 3 PCIE like the c1000 watt version. To my disappointment these ass hats decided it was a great idea to cut costs at consumers expense and give 2 PCIE, 2 CPU and 1 12vpwr cable instead of just including all cables one might need for the 280+$ price tag of the PSU (250€) My options are to either use one cable for two power connections and a second cable for the last power connection or buy a new power supply. Why you might ask?! Because NZXT changed OEMs for the c1200 and that OEM hasn't disclosed the PCIE pin outs to cable mod and NZXT is refusing to do anything about it, their response to my support ticket was "go fuck yourself buy the cable from cable mod.com" in their own "professional" manner I'm pretty desperate at this point and I'll be very grateful to hear what you guys have to say about it. Thanks very much in advance

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jJqTxH I have a part list that I really would like to get started on. Of course, I'm not starting with all these parts ($8000 would be too crazy for me!). I'm mainly going to use this for Blender and graphic-intensive gaming. Here is how I will assemble this computer: Buy the basic parts (My GPU will be the 7900 listed, and I will buy both the small and large SSDs, the small one will be for the OS.) First assembly Upgrade desk and chair Add other parts later when I financially can and finish up with the 4090 and Valve Index. I am open to any suggestions and discussions!

Hey there, I built my first pc and ever since this has happened about 5-6 times..I dont know what the cause it but my screen just randomly turns black for like 2-3s then it turns static for the same amount and then its all back to normal. I do get the feeling that the period it goes black and static for is getting longer and longer. I did update my drivers again and this keeps happening. In case it helps...I have a RX 6800 and a 5 7600x

Budget (including currency): $200-500 (AUD) Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Halo, CoD, GTA V, Asseto Corsa, Apex Legends, WRC, DiRT Rally 2.0. I also do a reasonable amount of graphic design and video editing with a lot of post FX processing. Goals: Overall FPS and performance increase, CPU and GPU are maxed out on GTA V around 100fps avg Very High settings. Current Specs: CPU - Intel Core i5 9400F GPU - Radeon RX 570 Armor OC 4gb RAM - 48GB - 2x8 gb 3200mhz DDR4 - 2x16gb 3200mhz DDR4 Motherboard - MSI B360M Bazooka SSD - Kingston A400 240GB HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB PSU - Phanteks PH-P550GF 550w Gold Note: I will be upgrading/adding a larger SSD so don't factor that into the budget/upgrade suggestions as I'm onto that already. I'm looking for a GPU and/or CPU upgrade that is compatible with what I have already. I read on another forum post that people going from RX 570 to RX 5700xt almost doubled their FPS. From my understanding RX 570 is GDDR5 and 5700XT is GDDR6 would it still be compatible with my board? I'm happy to buy used parts FYI. Please help I'm kind of a noob. Thanks in advance

I recently bought a BC-250 server blade as a project to play around with and I'm a bit at a loss, the software compatibility overall is pretty terrible, most Linux distributions not even booting up their installers properly, I managed to get Ubuntu server 20.04 running and I even managed to get the graphics drivers to install, which hadn't worked on Ubuntu desktop 20.04 or the newest version but even there the initialization failed, I've been wanting to get it running games to help make some mining hardware not ewaste but I've run into a bit of a brick wall and any help would be appreciated. I'm trying out some other Linux distributions while I write this to see if they have any luck Tldr It's a bc250, it uses a cut down Ariel/Oberon chip with a cyan skillfish GPU section. Windows drivers flat out don't exist as far as I can tell and the Linux ones don't seem to work, the furthest I've gotten is various states of failed initialization in Ubuntu server and would appropriate help from anyone who might be knowledgeable with the hardware or Linux in general. Thanks!

Hey I’m sorry if this is the wrong sub forum to post this in but I’m looking for advice/help here. I’ve just moved my racing sim out of my bedroom as an old room in my house is no longer occupied and I get to take over half of it, I’m tossing up between moving my whole gaming set up with the sim, or running an active usb cable and long hdmi cable through my roof into the other room to run a monitor and the sim rig. I was going to use a powered usb hub for the sim and connect the hub to my pc using an active usb cable, the length will have to be about 25-30m which will be usb 2.0 I believe. the cost is fine because I can get everything from work at a decent enough discount but I’m worried that’ll be too much data to run through one active cable and I don’t want to use multiple hubs and cables. I’m also worried that running usb 2 speeds over such a long distance might create too much latency. if anyone has done anything similar or has done exactly this and has any advice on if this solution will create any problems or a better way to do it without going to fibre because I don’t have Linus money I’d love to hear it. I hope this was all coherent I’m currently very sleep deprived and am about to finally get to bed. thanks in advanced guys

Hey! Bought a new PC (specs below) and everything was fine in the first month or so, turned on XMP, tried undervolting and it was fine for 2-3 weeks, started to notice lag issues and crashes from time to time so i turned everything back to default, even though i set it back the lag was gone for abit but games kept crashing, now i crash in almost any game i play sometimes i get error codes sometimes i wont, and the crashes happens very often i can play a game of Call of Duty and 15 min in i crash and when i crash there i have issues even getting into the menu before crashing. Games where ive crashed constantly is: AC Odyssey, MW3 Warzone, Lethal company (this crashes every 1-5 minutes its unplayable), i crash in Tekken 8, i lag hard in BO4 Zombies i have crashed here but not too often, multiple single player games like Death Stranding, i crash constantly on Terraria even, League of legends seems fine ive had crashes there but its like 2 total same goes for Valorant. So im basically stuck to playing Valorant or League of Legends only otherwise id be crashing left and right. Ive tried fixing these crashes with the games properties, running them as administrator, running them in dx11, tried running them with Full Screen Optimization turned off ive tried running them in windows 8 compatibility mode, ive factory reset the computer 2 times nothing seems to work and im unsure what else to do, i write here in hopes to get some help from experienced people who know alot more than i do. Back in October, I bought a used RTX 3080 from ebay. I installed it with no issues and it has been working as expected for the past 5 months. A few weeks ago, artifacts starting appearing and sometimes my game would crash. Last week, the computer won't even post when the GPU is installed. Strangely, when I took my motherboard out of my case and set it up test bench style, the GPU was perfectly fine. Once I put it back in the case, it won't post. The GPU is still receiving power because the fans are spinning, and it sometimes posts, but then crashes after five minutes. I took out the graphics card and tried using the iGPU and it worked perfectly. But, when I put the GPU back in, it won't post, even though I set the BIOS to use the iGPU. Is my GPU dead? Before the crashing started, my CPU and GPU temps were in line, 90 and 70 degrees Celsius respectively. What I have already tried: Reseating the GPU. Reseating the RAM. Updating all of my drivers Reinstalling Windows Tried using a different cable Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Motherboard: Asrock B650M Pro RS WiFi BIOS Version: 2.10 RAM: TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan alpha 32 GB SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB GPU: Used MSI VENTUS 3X PLUS GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR from ebay. Hi all. I've been having a heating problem with my custom PC for a while. The gist of the problem is that the heat of my CPU gets incredibly high (like, between 85-100°C high) for no apparent reason. I'll have Discord and a couple of Chrome tabs open, or just one app, and my fans start blowing extremely loud, with my performance also lagging. I'll check Task Manager, and displayed performance will be normal, something like 1-4% CPU usage. However, the CPU will get so hot, sometimes it thermal throttles. At one point, I replaced the thermal paste and blew out any dust, and the problem persisted. This continued for a while, and then completely disappeared for over a year for seemingly no reason. I was able to run multiple apps and a game at once with no issues. However, it's recently shown up again. Through testing, here's what I've discovered: My AIO seems to work. It makes funny noises sometimes, but I've checked, and at these high temps, both tubes feel like they have water flowing, and one is hot while the other is cool. I've also checked fans, they blow a good amount of cool air out of the top, and the radiator doesn't seem especially hot either. Again, this isn't a result of pushing my PC too hard. This pretty much never happens when I'm doing especially challenging things like running VR games or several applications at once, only at low workloads. Likely not a result of misreadings, as both the area around the CPU and one of the AIO tubes get warm. Anyone have any idea what's going on? My specs are as follows: Ryzen 7 5800X MSI SUPRIM RTX 3070 Ti 32GB 3800mhz Trident Z RAM MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS motherboard Lian Li GALAHAD 240mm AIO Help would be much appreciated! EDIT: Might also be important to mention that these aren't spikes: Immediately from boot, temps on several sensors go up to 85+ and stay like that.

System Info: Ryzen 7 5800X3D Radeon RX 6700 XT 16GB 2400MHz Memory 1x 2TB NVMe SSD 2x 2.5" 1TB SSD(s) So I felt like I've been having issues with my CPU possibly underperforming [overheating?] since I built it in mid-2023. Dragon's Dogma 2 has been the latest thing to push my PC and I wanted to check my CPU temps to see how it was performing and it was showing a very small negative number in C°. I restarted my PC and it seemed to fix it and I went forward. Since then it's had similar issues and restarting stopped fixing it but it wasn't really effecting performance so I've been ignoring it. Since then I've reinstalled Ryzen Master and Adrenalin but both are showing impossible values. I checked in bios and it was showing very normal temps so I have no idea what's going on.

A LIL BACKSTORY - I've been wanting to get into 3D design, video editing, and other media design programs as well lately. I already have good RAM (G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB)), and I thought why not get another set and fill all 4 slots and not have to worry about not having enough memory. I understand I don't necessarily need it but I'm in a position where I can spend the money on more RAM. THE MAIN thing is when I installed the RAM, my PC booted up fine and all was well until some programs would randomly shut down all in unison, and that would happen every few minutes or so. Then my PC would just crash and I'd get the blue screen of death. Then I'd turn the PC back on and it would boot and run Windows fine then 5-10 minutes later it would just crash again and I'd be rewarded with another blue screen. The same thing kept happening till I turned my PC off, unplugged it, and took out the RAM I had just installed and now my PC has been fine ever since. The thing is though, I want that RAM in my PC. I haven't tried to install it again, so I wanted to come here for some advice/help. PC parts list here -> https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HfLKQP I thought it could be something to do with the PSU? (not sure if this is necessary information but I've got the PC internals, mouse, keyboard, and 2 monitors plugged in. - just in case it has something to do with PSU that's what's plugged in.)

Hey there fellow PC enthusiasts. I'm looking for a direct upgrade to my current system specs but the more i look things up, the less i get an idea of what to do. I am not looking to build an entirely new system but simply trying to figure out if it would be best to upgrade my CPU (and mobo + RAM) first or upgrade my GPU. I've been researching for months and can't seem to find any conclusion, which is why i am asking here. (Reddit wasn't very helpful either...) Current specs: intel core i7-8700K @ 4.7Ghz all core be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 2x 8GB DDR4-2400 MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio (11GB VRAM) be quiet! Straight Power 11 850W 80+Gold Any help is very much appreciated. Edit: I am located in Belgium and looking for the most cost-effective direct upgrade. I don't really have a set budget, but if it proves to be better to build a new system and sell my current one (or components), i will probably need some recommendations around the €1500 mark. Edit 2: Dual monitors - 24" 1080p144 + 27" 1440p180 Edit 3: €1000 pricepoint also in consideration.

When using my computer it seems to randomly go to a black screen where audio will continue but I have 0 input. After trying to reboot the computer will continue to boot to a black screen. I have been dealing with this for months and haven’t found a true fix all I do is keep re seating the gpu, clearing cmos, reseating ram etc and I also have random success with that. I’m just really stuck here and in the verge of tears gaming is really the only escape I have. I also tested the gpu in a known working PC and it ran fine. I also tried using a different GPU in my computer and same black screen issue. SYSTEM SPECS: RTX3080ti 32gb Corsair vengeance ddr5 ryzen 9 7950x3d Mag B650 tomahawk WiFi EDIT:I’ve also gotten the computer to boot to windows through integrated graphics another odd note the computer will stop displaying internal graphics if I plug in my oddesy g7 instead of my smaller 1080p tv switching back to the tv it will also now have no signal
